  3. I run ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 4.14.18-sunxi on an Orange Pi Zero. Cron and its timezone are causing me problems: it's initially one hour out - all root crons run an hour early. If I run dpkg-reconfigure tzdata and set the correct region/place, cron then runs correctly until the next reboot. I can see no difference between the localtime and timezone files before and after the reconfigure (strangely, the localtime link is replaced by a file following a reconfigure - this is different from my other Armbian machines). I can work around the problem as follows: following a start/reboot I then restart the cron serv…

Since 23 hours, 23 views, no reply's. So I have ordered a 4 pack of the latest 4gig bananna pi's, and would like to know: 1. if Armbian will work on them, and 2. If octoprint-1.8.6 can be installed in a python venv so I can get back to work on a room full of 3d FDM printers. off topic, I have been running an apt update at about 8 hour intervals on the rock64's but while error msgs are, or were displayed on the hdmi output, no xserver appears to be start-able, the hdmi display has now gone dark without its declaring a loss of signal so I have to assume it is generating a synch signal of some sort. 7. Hello! I met next problem: I need configure UART communication with baud rate 1 Mb/s (or 2 or 3). But internal clock of the bus is 1.5 MHz, and if i try to communicate with 1 Mb/s, error is too big. Is it possible somehow change internal clock of the uart? Or maybe any other possibilities how to configure such communication ? Or maybe you know any models with higher internal clock of the bus (Like on 6.5 MHz on raspberry pi 4, for example) ? Now one section is equal to 1.333 microseconds, but it should be 1.0 mcs. I found same topic at this forum, but it's no solution there: Thank you and have a good day

So I've got this 88SE9215 based board that is similar to the ones already posted except that it uses single SAS port instead of x4 SATA ports. The board comes with a splitter cable 1 SAS to 4 SATA + LED head. The cable is completely compatible with the board as the seller claims. I will attach pictures below. The board is detected (as per below), but if I attach disks they do not show up in the system at all. dmesg has no new messages and the disk is shutdown after 20-30 seconds (parks head and stops the motor) with lsscsi showing nada. Any thoughts on why I cant get it work? Now when I plug this board and boot, from `dmesg | grep ata` I get 4 new …

  10. Hello! In the process of setting up the settings in my new Armbian Bionic install on a 16 GByte installed MicroSD, I tried to set the clock preferences in the XFCE4 but as soon as I close the preferences application, it reverts to an invalid state and the clock disappears. It wasn't a fresh MicroSD and I'm concerned that it's trying to "save on a bad sector" or something when I set up the preferences. Is there a way I can test for the possibility that my MicroSD is wearing out? The power supply I'm using came with the board and has been adequate for all other OS uses. It may just be a file permission bug or something needing a "sudo". Either way, I'm conc…

  11. I'm trying to use H6's ARISC (CPUS) core for my CNC project https://allwincnc.github.io/ There are no problems to switch ARISC (CPUS) clock source using H3 and H5 (latest Armbian Buster). I'm using R_PRCM (0x01F01400) > CPUS_CLK_REG (offset 0x0000) register to switch clock source to the PERIPH0 PLL. For the H3 I'm using uboot script, for the H5 - own kernel module. But for the H6 this register (R_PRCM) isn't properly documented. Found out this register was moved to the 0x07010000. But modifying this register at offset 0x0000 doesn't take any effect. Just checked this using uboot cmd and own kernel module. I need your help. guys. Any suggestions …

Everything went perfectly fine, Pihole is the DNS for LAN, while my router handles WAN DNS (DNS over TLS with Cloudflare). I'm concerned a little bit about logging. What do you recommend to keep the sd card safe. I think Pihole is logging to /var/log/ whete running for less than 24 hours I have pihole.log 3MB size, with pihole.log.1 around 2MB. Is there a way to use log2ram for this or a good practice of log rotation, writing to RAM, etc? Your help is welcome!

Also, I could enter into the Website interface by accessing the IP address and the proper port number. 51. Hi all, digging into the Orange Pi 6 Plus specs for a potential build. Can anyone confirm the M.2 slots (the two Key-M 2280 ones) are PCIe Gen 4 with x4 lanes each? Official docs mention NVMe support but are light on details. I'm curious if this could handle a low-end GPU like an RX 570 (or even lower) through an NVMe-to-PCIe adapter/riser—thinking for light gaming or compute tasks. Has anyone tried eGPU setups on this board or similar ARM SBCs? What about power delivery, drivers, and performance? Running Linux (Ubuntu/Debian probably). Thanks for any insights or benchmarks!

  52. Hey everyone, I'm a noob in SBCs in general but I recently bought an Orange Pi One along with a 3.5inch HDMI-compatible MPI3508 display to work with it. Right now, I still can't seem to make the tft display work with the board but after some hours, I came across a thread that led me to this DTC overlay that I can use for my display. Armbian seems to be the best option for what i want, but currently i'm unable to use the GPIO pins on the tinkerboard2. I tried to install wiringpi from here (https://github.com/TinkerBoard/gpio_lib_c/tree/sbc/tinkerboard/c) but i always recieve an error code. Anyone facing this problem? Any help will be very much appreciated, i really want to move to a non-GUI OS, but asus does't offer any option besides uninstalling X-10 GUI Thank you for your time

I'd like 1-2 hour sessions 9-11am CST and would like to cover the following: Installing armbian to EMMC on nano pi. Creating a master image and automating installation of it via SD card eflasher type system. Getting ethernet to work on NanoPi Core. Integrating drivers. Thanks Derek

  55. This week I installed Armbian on three BananaPi M5s. The OS ran fine from SD card, but once installed to emmc (using armbian-config) the system booted with a message that the file space available was zero. In the case of one of the boards I found an 8GB .img file in /media/my userid/. I assumed it was a copy of the 8GB SD card, and I deleted it. The system is fine now. But in the case of the other two I have yet to determine what is consumbing all the file space. There are two empty directoris in /media (mmcboot and mmcroot). Any idea what is causing this and more importantly how to fix the two existing systems? Thanks, Paul

Will there be soon new kernels available especially, as we are now facing the Dirty pipe exploit? Thanks! regards, Udo

  72. Hello. I'm running "Armbian 20.11.6 Focal" on an Odroid-C2 board. Today, after an "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade", the OS name changed from "Armbian 20.11.6 Focal" to "Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS". The changes has been done from the package "11ubuntu5.3" (https://launchpadlibrarian.net/519827877/base-files_11ubuntu5.2_11ubuntu5.3.diff.gz) on the files "/etc/issue" and "/etc/issue.net". I was experiencing slow writes to internal SD card and hard drives connected to an USB 2.0 hub on multiple Odroid HC1. IOWAIT was 99.99% most of the time during large file copies. I found that Armbian was simply waiting too long to write data to disk. Kernel parameters are optimized for writing small amounts of data to SD card when running from that in order to reduce wear. If you have the same problem, you might get factor 10-100 faster writes using the following sysctl settings: vm.dirty_writeback_centisecs=50 vm.dirty_expire_centisecs=50 No need to act, if iotop shows low IOWAIT values on your system.

The LCD I need to use …
