  10. The GPIO pins on the Rock64 are very similar to the Raspberry Pi's GPIO, except the Raspberry pi calls pin #19 GPIO 10, pin #21 GPIO 9 and pin #23 GPIO 11. Where as the Rock64's pin #19 is GPIO3_A1, pin #21 GPIO_A2 and pin #23 GPIO3_A0. The Rock64 documentation does say that it is quasi-Raspberry Pi compatible, but it's hard to find anyone who has actually tested this. Here is the GPIO layout of the Rock64, compared to the Pi 3 I'm currently trying to figure out if a display such as THIS can be connected to the Rock64's GPIO pins without any major issues. User documentation for the display can be found HERE on page 2, in the PDF named …

Hi, I am trying to select an OS for C++ development on ARM processors for IoT development and I am thinking about long future. I've been using Debian and Ubuntu on my desktop, so I have to say I am biased on using Debian. (1) armhf debian looks stable, it can support any ARM board as long as it has Linux kernel, but it requires large size in both RAM and Flash like a desktop environment. (2) openwrt is smaller for embedded system, but it does not have pre-build open source library packages like armhf debian does, you have to build open source packages which may or may not be a big deal, in particular, building boost could be a nightmar…

Hello, I decided to monitor some temperature stuff at home and used few ds18b20 w1 sensors and they work, but due to some cable limitation and number of the sensors at same point they failed. I decided to test with 10 meters CAT5 FTP cable, changed pull up resistor to 4KO and 3 ds18b20 work at 10m cable on 3.3V, If I add one more they all fail. I switched volatage to 5V and all good, but I wondering is it possible to initialize w1 bus on another GPIO? After I google that and so some reading, people achieve that on raspberry but they patched the kernel somehow. Any idea how can that be done on armbian?

That for some reason forces system to change time to Aug 24 1978. systemd reacts to that situation strangely, which puts system under unresponsive state, like infinite loop, potentially causing 100% cpu occupation (this is guess now) The printouts "Aug 24 07:45:10 ptc_lab_collab3_node17 systemd[20635]: Time has been changed" follows many times per second until node is rebooted manually. It doesn't differ (much). Major difference is that when you start with a Debian / Ubuntu you start with a DI (Debian Installer) and install Debian to some drive. That process is identical on all x86 Ubuntu based Linuxes. Only background / colours, configurations, perhaps an application / GRUB versions is changed ... We only provide "LIVE" image because of different hardware design / scenarios. Its more suitable this way. Once you login into Armbian, all tutorials and install cases will work the same way as they work on particular Debian / Ubuntu version https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials with rare exceptions when application does not come with arm/arm64 b…

In armbian-image-release file, VERSION is 20.08.1 But it is 21.08.8 in armbian-relase file. armbian-config and welcome massages also show version as 21.08.8 So I think 21.08.8 is correct one, but then why armbian-image-release has incorrect version value? The adapter works correctly with my laptop but I'm having some issues using it with the Orange Pi 3, the adapter does have video output but it randomly loses the signal and goes to black and after a short time it comes back. Hi all, I am trying to use a MCP3426 I2C ADC chip with my NanoPi Duo2. I have compiled a custom kernel with the mcp3426 driver in it, but I can't get it to load. The problem seems to be that the chip uses address 0x68 which is the same address that the commonly used DS1307 RTC chip uses. I have blacklisted the ds1307 module which has stopped that module from loading, but somehow '/sys/bus/i2c/devices/0-0068/name' still claims to be a ds1307. 'echo mcp3426 0x68 > /sys/class/i2c-dev/i2c-0/device/new_device' results in a "Invalid argument error" with 'i2c i2c-0: Failed to register i2c client mcp3426 at 0x68 (-16)' being logged in dmesg, and apparently the -16…

  91. Hello, In case you haven't heard about this yet, the fact that Armbian Buster Current comes with a 5.8 kernel means it suffers from this Debian bug: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=964926 which us caused by combining this kernel version (as well as future ones) with systemd built using older kernel headers. This bug is mostly harmless but it does at the very least prevent Ansible from managing services on affected systems due to 'systemctl show' exiting with a non-zero exit code. Unfortunately with the official Debian Buster kernel version being 4.19 it is unlikely that this will be fixed on their end.

Since the apt.armbian moved to HTTPS I've been experiencing the following apt-get update error: Reading package lists... Done E: Method https has died unexpectedly! E: Sub-process https received a segmentation fault. E: Method /usr/lib/apt/methods/https did not start correctly I'm currently on ARMBIAN 5.60 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.70-sunxi and would love to get HTTPS working again over apt. My system details here: http://ix.io/…

Hi guys, I am tying to get HW video acceleration to work without a full desktop environment. Right now, I am able to get videos to start to play with startx /usr/bin/mpv --vo=x11 video.mkv. However, the video seems to be software decoded. I have tried startx /usr/bin/mpv --vo=vdpau video.mkv but mpv failed to start with an error message "[vo/vdpau] Error when calling vdp_device_create_x11: 1Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.Video: no videoA0". I have also tried startx /usr/bin/mpv --vo=x11 --hwdec=vdpau video.mkv but the video doesn't seem to be hardware accelerated. Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks!

Hi, I want install ISPConfig of the last OS Buster of a Cubietruck 3. The install stop before the end. I've test on 4 different 64Go SD and it's the same problem. Thanks

  100. What is the correct way to upgrade from Stretch to Buster? Can I just follow the ordinary Debian upgrade guide, or are there special considerations I should be aware of? Do I need to do a clean install?
