The minimal (Bookworm) torrent of Orange Pi PC2 was only shared by one source when I added it today, and that source is only at 71%. Not sure if this is another person also trying to download and the original source no longer shared, or if this is the original source and it is broken. I can ofc download the file via https, but felt I wanted to let you know.

  3. Can someone tell me what does R6 in this LM358 circuit diagram do? I guess R6 is part of the square wave generator that forms the b diagram. R6 accelerates the transition of the output state of the op amp through positive feedback to cross the indeterminate state, and acts as a Schmitt trigger. Guys do you agree?

Hi there , I’m Jimmy. First post here... apologies in advance for any questions that might sound dumb. My plan: buy Android TV boxes and install Armbian to run browsers and remote control using AnyDesk. I chose Android TV boxes - everything is complete and contained in a small box + very cheap. For £45 for example, I can get with power supply - with 2GB RAM - not sure about processor though. - Should I consider other options? Like Orange Pi? I've got a 3rd generation Raspberry Pi - that is so poor for speed, chokes on one or 2 browser tabs. (I haven't tried Armbian - I will be doing shortly.) - N…

  5. Is there a good resource for what's currently being developed by the major SBC manufacturers? I am curious about what is being developed and when it is coming out. I'm thinking about expanding my cluster by another 10 or 20 nodes but I don't want to invest now if something great is going to be released soon. I am most interested in FriendlyARM and OrangePi boards as they seem to have a good performance/value ratio around the $35 price point but I am interested in what all major manufacturers are doing. Is there anywhere to read about development? Or is anyone here privy to what's next for low cost ARM based SBCs?

  6. @nicod I saw it on the other thread. It’s worthy of its own post. That rig captures the essence of what makes hacking on SBCs so great. Lane Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hello, [sorry if this is in the wrong forum category] I am a new user and have got my OPi zero running up until the console (starting message), via ethernet. I have used a router with IP 192.168.4.1 as DHCP server, which is not connected to internet. The routing table is accordingly similar to [1] Wifi is not yet set up. When I want to, it should connect to a different AP/router (say operating as 192.168.1.1 seen over wlan0), and therefore also the routes have to be adjusted. My question is: can I delete the default route in [1] while still retaining connection to the Pi via Ethernet? (from the PC which is on the 192…

Next I want build something like home automation withing this board, so I think it should have a 2GB ram and A53 cores(64bit+performant). Think Sata is not important yet. Maybe way later I will try casting something to tv via WiFi(not HDMI). Of course I'm looking at OPi win plus/prime or Nanopi k2. They are very cheap, but are they of enough quality? Or I should choose something else?

Granted this isn't a bank, but it would be nice if you enabled SSL during login and account creation. Especially these days with all the security breaches we have. Cheers.

Hello, is there something like a VirtualBox that can emulate a BP(M1) hardware, that can run Armbian inside? I'm looking for a way to set up a new Armbian system for a BPM1, without having to shut down the running one longer than absolutely necessary. I have done this before with Linux servers: I installed and configured a hole server inside a VirtualBox alongside my normal computer work, then I copied the image to the real disk and swapped the disks, with a downtime of only about 5 minutes. So I was wondering if this was possible with the BananaPi as well.

Over and over people post things like "I have a Waveshare <XX.YY.ZZ> and Armbian can't do what the vendor kernel that uses a crap kernel full of security holes and crusty drivers can". So, point them here and say: "By the power of Google, I beseech thee, search!" And I have some random stuff lying around.

A Beelink X2 by default boots into Android with KODI and can be interrupted to instead boot into Armbian off an SD card. It might be quite advantageous to use a microSD card to jump start Armbian installed on a USB stick plugged in. Cost is one reason: the TF cards cost what the Beelink does, and lots of us have lots of premium USB sticks at less than half the price. This way it could be easier to experiment and even have a personal USB stick for friends and family. When it comes to family media this would help everyone. Myself I'd try various home clouds and server schemes, and whatever wins, just run that from the TF slot later on. Plus if you …

Hello I am having a hard time trying to find some of the boards in Europe. Odroid and NanoPI are rather common, but Banana Pi, Orange Pi, Tritium, Olimex ... seem to be hard to find. Can anybody point me to a list of vendors, or maybe post them here (if it's OK with the forum rules)? Regards, Patrick

Since i only need all day events i guess that i'll just need a, Start Date column, not the End Date or Time columns. I'm not sure if i need to work over the multiple "Description" columns though... guess that i have to merge them into a single column I suppose. well it does not work at all

Hi All, I'm a bit of a Debian newbie, I haven't had much experience troubleshooting linux installations, so please bear with me. I was able to follow Martin Michlmayr's instructions for installing Debian 10 on my TS-212. The TS-212 uses a Marvell ARM CPU, 256MB of ram, 16MB of SPI NOR flash. I also followed the instructions to resize the MTD blocks to make room for the Debian 11 kernel, although i never updated the kernel. Everything was working fine until I booted one day and I got flashing red lights on the front of the NAS. I hooked up to the debug serial port, and I find that the hard drive has all kinds of non-recoverable errors, and Debian …

Hi folks, I upgraded my server towards a bigger machine and unfortunately neither my parents nor brothers need a reliable fileserver. So this little machine goes on sale. - Helios64 with all trays + 2 SSD inserts - Fully assembled - Original packaging - Changed the two fans for Noctuas in order to get an even more silent server What's missing is the Battery for UPS. Mine was faulty and caused me some random reboots. Condition is mint / very good. System is stable with 5.15.93 running OMV6. If you would like pictures of the machine itself please drop me a note.

  61. Hi, I wonder if there exists one method to make the end user a friendly way to access the web server. So I have Armbian with hotspot enabled, if I want to look at specific web page running on the board, I have to know the IP of the wlan0 and specific port of the web server. For example in google chrome I have to insert: http://172.24.1.1:3000 This is very difficult for end user, who has minimal knowledge. Is there any way, that for example you log on the hotspot, then open google chrome and start browse for any arbitrary page (let's say www.google.com) at port 80 and then it's automatically redirected to port 3000, except for all other web servers on the same…

At FOSDEM 2020, in roughly a few days (at 2pm, Sunday 2nd of Feb, Brussels time), there will be a livestreamed explanation given of the “FOSDEM Video Box” HDMI capturing devices. They use almost 60 of these ARM-based devices during the FOSDEM conference to capture both the video output of all presenters laptops, and the video and audio of the camera filming of the presenter. Serious video hackery accomplishes this. I would encourage anyone interested to check out the bio of Luc Verhaegen, one of the presenters. Using these "Video Boxes", FOSDEM inexpensively streams 720p videos of all 800+ presentations! This is a small m…

I'm also looking at NBD, because it is supposedly lower overhead than iSCSI. Is anyone currently using NBD on their SBC? I've heard NBD doesn't handle connectivity issues as well as iSCSI, so it's not wise to use for data you care about. However, providers such as Scaleway are using NBD as the rootfs for their ARM servers (not saying this is good or bad, just saying it). I am thinking specifically of having the SBC be the client, not the server. However anyone who can pr…

Is it worth starting an Armbian wiki? It seems that for questions such as how do I write the raw file to an SD card, how do I disable LEDs on my whicheverPi, why doesn't my orange pi pc boot this work in progress image and so forth could be answered there. Hopefully it would reduce the Forum traffic for such things, but also when they do pop up a simple one line response with the wiki link is all that's required. I realise that there is the Armbian documentation, which is great, but only really covers how to use Armbian to build images. Equally there is gold mine of information in the forum, but it's sometimes buried a few pages deep or only comes to the surface…

Originally supported board types are OrangePi, NanoPi & RockPiS. The Raspberry Pi support is recently published, there may be some bugs. Here is a link to the GitHub repository: https://github.com/ArdaSeremet/SBC-RealTimeIO . Please feel free to tell me about any further improvements. For now, I am working on PWM output support!
