1. Hi there, after a recent apt upgrade I have problem with WiFi. I CAN connect to one WiFi, WPA2, static IP. However I CAN'T connect to another one, WPA2, tried with static and dynamic IP. I am using NetworkManager. Searched forum, deleted /etc/networks/interfaces. Information in /etc/NetworkManager/"network name" seems to be correct. Almost the same as for working net. (except uuid & IP info) CAN also connect from laptop. wpa_supplicant line from ps: /sbin/wpa_supplicant -u -s -O /run/wpa_supplicant What should I check else?

  7. Hello, I installed last Bionic on a Orange Pi PC+. It's on EMMC. (it used to have an old Armbian Ubuntu with 3.x kernel before) Common settings (background image, GTK theme, icons, panel) are there on logout but are not saved on reboot. I saved a text file in the home user folder, it's OK. With another common user I face the same problem, with the root account settings are saved. My Linux knowledge is average, I really don't know what's wrong. Thank you Mathieu

  8. Hello, it seems like there are no dts files to add support for i2s. How hard would it be to complete this task? The documentation from h6 references support for i2s, and the same in the user manual from Xunlog : http://dl.sumnic.com/download/OrangePi-One-Plus.pdf Edit:After some reading, i2s is not working for now and there's no proper driver yet. Thanks to martinayotte, SPI is working.

Hello, as already described in this topic: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/5619-nanopi-duo-sound-delay/ I have the same problem with delayed audio. -> " if I run speaker-test -t wav, instead of the sound playing "front left" it just play the work left, the continues playing "front left" correctly." When I run an audio-output-command two times, the audio is played well with the second command. But the greater problem in my case is a loud cracking noise when audio stops. Is there anyway to prevent the shutdown of the amplifier? I have to repeatingly start and stop audio files from nodejs. Thanks for your help, Jimmy

There is Network Monitor but I can't edit / delete "ifupdown(eth0)" connection. I can create another connection for wired eth in NM, static address, but it does not go active on system startup. I can switch off "eth0" and activate another connection from NM desktop, but I want system to start automatically with static IP (w/o user action).

  17. Hey. I'm trying to install octoprint on my Opi Zero +2, using the latest armbian image I found here on the site. Installation works fine, and I get the web interface up and running no problem. But I have connected power to the board on the gpio pins, and want to use the mini-usb to connect to the 3d printer. I have enabled usbhost0-3 in the hardware in armbian-config, but still it seems the printer cannot be reached. I read some older posts regarding other boards, where the solution seemed to be recompiling. Is this a necessity, and if so, could someone please point me to a walkthrough? Regards Anders

  19. When the system call # /sbin/fstrim --all the process enters intermittent sleep, and all the following processes gradually obtain the same state. In crontab it appears as a task of the # fstrim -v / system, the same command if I do it manually also has the same result of never ending and blocking the other processes little by little until the system is totally blocked. Can it be disabled? As a check that is compatible with the microsd? Any recommendation?

Returns working. - Using different power bricks, will still turn on leds, but not output to HDMI - Using different Armbian kernels, no success Any ideas lads?

  49. Hello! The same issue was solved one year ago: Module 'nls_utf8' was missing in armbian 5.3.6 (4.13.16-sunxi64) Some time ago, the absence of a module was again discovered, without which the 'mount' with option 'iocharset=utf8' fails with error. The output of: grep -i nls_utf8 /boot/config* is # CONFIG_NLS_UTF8 is not set Please include again the module 'nls_utf8' in kernel update. Thank you very much! Denis

  52. I have two Orange PI +2E machines. The first one I got was a while ago so it's running a 3.4.113 kernel (16.04), the more recent one I purchased is running 4.19.13 kernel (18.04) - both are Ubuntu Armbian. I've noticed when I use the "shutdown now" command on the older pi, the board actually powers off but when I use the same command on the newer kernel board, it never powers down. The newer board appears to stop all services and eventually report that the system is halted but it remains in that state. Is there a way to enable it to power off after a "shutdown now" is issued? I'm wondering if this is a kernel difference but it may be something else completely. …

  59. During startup/reboot of the Orange Pi Zero, the module fails to get recognised and come up( output of lsusb and dmesg do not show any usb devices). The module, however gets recognised and works fine when plugged out and back in. Are there any extra steps that I have to take in order to make the module get recognised during bootup? 68. Issue found! Orange PI changed eMMC from KLM8G1GETF to KLM8G1WEPD. The difference is eMMC 5.0 vs 5.1 and maybe more. The key things is that Armbian (checked using 5.35 and the latest one) does not see this memory (fdisk -l)!! I have noticed it on OPI0 Plus 2 H3. PCB boards are the same, only memory model no. difference. Someone solved it or noticed the same? Confused 🤨

We have deployed the zero for an integrated MCU on one of our products, and in rare occasions we are experience random lockups of the MCU (possibly related to overheating). Its pretty much impossible to debug this since it happens very rarely, but we are trying to mitigate all possible causes. The MCU is controlling a bigger and more expensive board and a fan. If there are internal failsafes that are being triggered by the MCU and locking it up (like temp) we want to disable as many of them as possible (we would rather have the MCU burn up than our main board). Anyone have any insights on orange pi zero OTP or OCP in kernel or uboot parameters we can disable?

  85. These boards are well suited to routing/network traffic control functionality. Currently the kernel has been compiled with Traffic Control stuff disabled, which makes it impossible to perform traffic shaping on stock Armbian kernel. I'm busy recompiling the kernel as a temporary solution, but I will really appreciate it if the kernel build maintainer can please change the traffic control options from DISABLED to MODULE (at least)? I have a bunch of Armbian boards but I'm testing with NanoPi Neo 2 right now. --- I'll let you know the size of the modules once I've finished compiling.

  87. In the FriendlyARM thread http://www.friendlyarm.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=1427&p=5685#p5685 we did try to use A64 images from the Pine64 or the BananaPi M64 with the NanoPi A64. The last times we did that with less success - OK Sytem is running but Network/Sound has to added via USB. No suppport for the onboard devices But today a user did wrote that - with the actual stable Pine64-image ( Armbian_5.69_Pine64_Debian_stretch_next_4.19.13 ) WiFi is useable. So I flasded the Pine64-image to a MicroSDCard and did boot. Additiionally I did see with "aplay -l" the HDMI and the analog Sound-device. But ethernet…

  88. Can anyone suggest a command line command that would return the status of the connected HDMI monitor? Whether it is on standby or not or something that might help to determine if the display is active or not. I'm currently using Armbian Xenial on a H3 Orange Pi Zero Plus 2. Thanks

  89. with great joy we saw the new version of Armbian_5.69_Orangepipcplus_Ubuntu_bionic_next_4.19.13 for orange pi pc plus (date 9-1-2019) We were waiting for a WIFI fix, on the WPA. Wifi at the very beginning, it works properly with a WPA connection. Then, you do not want to make another WPA connection and work. Will this problem be corrected in some new version of Armbian? Thanks

  91. I met a problem that kernel showed allwiner H6 ethernet internal error. link: It is hard to loacate what makes that error occur, I wish that kernel can show my log added to drivers/net/ethernet/stmicro/stmmac/dwmac-sun8i.c. my work below: 1 Added printk to drivers/net/ethernet/stmicro/stmmac/dwmac-sun8i.c, and made patch with git format-patch, move patch to userpatchs/kernel/sunxi-next. 2 run ./compile.sh to compile armbian, I am sure that patch work, have checked drivers/net/ethernet/stmicro/stmmac/dwmac-sun8i.c after compile.sh completion 3 burn Armbian_5.71_Orangepioneplus_Ubuntu_bionic_next_4.19.13_desktop.img to sdca…

  92. Hi,guys! when I build a pthon3 script with gui and GPIO contorl.I can run it when I use terminal with sudo command. But when I used "settings->session and startup" to config this script,It can't run when my device reboot (Orange Pi PC). I try to config command like: "echo 'password'|sudo -S python3 /home/kwan/OPi_PC/u_main.py" still the same. And then I tried to edit "/etc/rc.local" file and add: "echo 'password'|sudo -S python3 /home/kwan/OPi_PC/u_main.py &" still the same. The problem is when I run the other script without GPIO config and sudo command. It can run when device reboot. So,It's ther…

Hi, I am new to Orange Pi ecosystem. I have a Orange Pi PC 2 running armbian and some times raspbian. I want to use a wifi adapter to this. Since there has been many discussions on which adapter to chose and how to chose I am really confused. Please help me select a wifi adapter which could be installed easily considering that I am a rookie.

  94. Hello! I'm using Armbian Stretch for 1080P Pinebook A64. I've installed Armbian Stretch about 2 months ago, when it was still "Unsupported" and in-development. Now, however, it's supported. Currently, I'm on Armbian Stretch 5.60 and dev branch. I would like to update to 5.69 and next branch. However, from armbian-config, I'm only able to go from stable to nightly build (5.68, but still dev branch). Moreover, I can't select next kernel from Other menu. Is there a way to switch branches (barring re-flashing from latest image)?

  95. I'm trying to get TFTP support into U-Boot but it insists that 'no ethernet found'. I've added a couple of nodes to the device tree such that it has 'status = "okay" and mac-address = [00 00 00 00 00 00]; I've also added a top level alias in sun50i-h5-nanopi-k1-plus.dts (as added by @martinayotte following this thread) as below. Not sure if the U-Boot config needs changing in any way but the network components are certainly being built. Any thoughts most welcome. I use a NEO2 (H5), with armbian linux 4.19.13-sunxi64, and have a StarTech usb2.0 to Gigabit-ethernet adapter, which I plug in the usb slot of the NEO2 and which gives me a new additional ethernet interface. iperf3 on this interface (against another NEO2 with its generic gigabit interface) gives maximum 111 MBit/sec, even with the tips in https://forum.armbian.com/topic/7001-slow-usb-speed-on-h5-devices-orangepi-prime-probably-cpu-governor-related/ (which actually dont change much) Using a raspberry pi (2B) with the same adapter and cable I get 170 MBit/sec, which is significantly more (although still not what one should hope for, which is up to 30…

I have 1 "Customised Olimex Lime A20 SBC with RTL-SDR chip installed in the board (AirNav XRANGE). Currently the OS I'm using is the Lime A20 Armbian Stretch 4.14.84, everything is works fine except for the 2 GPIO LED. I have no idea how to let it work. I have the edited "sun7i-a20-olinuxino-lime.dtb" from Armbian Jessie 4.11.5 which is mainly for the board. May I know is there a way to incorporated the "Armbian Jessie 4.11.5's sun7i-a20-olinuxino-lime.dtb into the A20 Armbian Stretch 4.14.84 so that the 2 LEDs will work again? The edited dtc for LEDs to work "sun7i-a20-olinuxino-lime.dtb" attached. Hope to get so…
