Hi everyone, I connected my board with my PC via serial USB. Then I opened a serial with minicom and tried to test it out. I can send the strings from my board to PC without any problems but when I write something on the PC it sends garbage to my board. But, if I connect the TX, RX like: TX->TX RX->RX instead of TX->RX, RX->TX it sends normal from the PC and garbage from the board. I checked my baud rates but everything seems legit. I tried both 9600, 115200 bit rates, I also tried the both voltages (5V, 3.3V) What do you think could cause this problem? I saw this thread but seems like ther…

Is there a gc2035 driver module available or in development for the H5? There doesn't seem to be one in the 5.37.171220 build for Orange Pi Zero Plus 2. sudo modprobe gc2035 modprobe: FATAL: Module gc2035 not found in directory /lib/modules/4.14.7-sunxi64 sudo modprobe gc2035 modprobe: FATAL: Module gc2035 not found in directory /lib/modules/4.14.7-sunxi64

I have Orange PI PC Plus with GC2035 camera module. Upgraded to 4.13.6 sunxi-next mainline kernel and noticed that GC2035 camera driver is gone! Why is it so? Maybe someone forgot to include this driver to the kernel? People are still using these cameras and need them! If it was a conscious decision to remove the GC2035 camera from the sunxi-next tree - then, well, it was a horrible decision that should be reversed. Please return this driver. https://github.com/avafinger/gc2035 Earlier it was at ./drivers/media/video/sunxi-vfe/device/gc2035.c location, but now the directory structure could be very different...

I'm using a fairly newly created Armbian_5.25_Orangepizero_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113 on my orange Pi Zero, trying to port a set of programs from Raspberry Pi where they work OK. I use a script to build: gcc -o myProgram myProgram.cpp -lwiringPi -llibpthread and my problem is that ld reports that it cannot find libpthread.so. find / -name libpthread.so -print reports that the library is located in /usr/lib/arm-Linux-gnueabihf/ and indeed it is. There is no ld.so.conf file in /etc. so how do I get my program to complete linkage? Peter. PS: I seem to have succes…

Hi guys. I've just spent yet another two hours trying to find an answer to my webcam problem and there does not seem to be an answer from what I can discern. Still working to try to get a camera to work with Octopi from what I have around. Strange thing I discovered that the USB OTG port on the Opi One does not seem to work, but when plugged into my single regular USB, I get this for the camera: pi@citrico-opione:~/ffmpeg_cedrus264_H3$ lsusb Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 003 Device 002: ID 1908:2310 GEMBIRD Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux …

So you guys that have more experience, what should I be looking at, when I find some code that runs on a Raspberry Pi to verify that it will also run on the Orange Pi PC? If I find some interesting code on Github for example . Regarding GPIO I think there shouldn't be any problem, since we have WiringOPI and that py20a or how its called. But what about i2c lcd's, max7219 matrix displays, other stuff? How does it differ the compatibility of boards between python and C code?

Hi, I installed on my Orange Pi Zero (not plus) armbian and using armbian-config I am trying to install Octoprint to control my 3d printer. I got an error: docker: Error response from daemon: error gathering device information while adding custom device "/dev/video0": no such file or directory I have no webcam attached and I am not planning to use it for now, Can I disable this check?

Hello. I'm writing a program that requires sound.target. I was reading about sound.target and how it's a special systemd unit that doesn't load until the system finds the sound card. Armbian takes quite a bit of time to find the sound card on the OPi, around 30 seconds. Or, maybe it's something else that's making it take so long. I was wondering if there was a way I could mess around with systemd or something else to make the sound card found faster, thus sound.target and my program loading faster upon powering on the device. Thank you

Greetings! I have acquired for cheap this old board. It runs an old Android (4.x) and I'd like to run Armbian on it, but lack the knowledge to do that by myself. The idea would be to start with booting a Linux a SD image, then attempt to install it on the onboard flash in place of Android. The board is not for sale anymore and the manufacturer removed any mention of it from their site, however Archive.org has a copy along with related files, manuals, firmware etc: https://web.archive.org/web/20140701064007/http://www.giadatech.com/index.php?act=pShow&id=36 The board presents itself when not in USB host mode as "SoftwinerEvb" which appears to be …

Hi all, I've connected a Serial-TTL converter to my Macbook Pro on one side, and an OrangePi Zero on the other, when I power up the Zero, I'm getting the following, what looks like an output with missing characters: I'm connecting with "sudo screen /dev/cu.usbserial 115200" and the adapter's driver in the network connections is set to 115200. The adapter is an Adafruit USB to TTL Serial Cable with a Prolific chipset. Any ideas?

I know Banana pi had issues in the past connecting at gigabit speeds. I thought that was a fixed problem, though. I did a fresh Jessie server install today and it still connects at 100 megabit. Is there a user action that must be taken? According to http://linux-sunxi.org/LeMaker_Banana_Pi the GMAC wasn't supported in the community kernel but should be in later kernels. Is this still an issue? How does one set GMAC_TX_DELAY to 3? Is that a config file thing or a patch that needs to be applied? Are other Banana Pi owners just living with 100 megabit speeds? A bit of system information: ~> uname -a Linux bananapi 4.6.3-sunxi #7 SMP Tue Jul 5 16:23:41…

I've tried to install GitLab onto Banana PI running Armbian (Ubuntu 16.04 server). First of all ('Boring' alert!): outstanding job with the new updates. It must be lonely at the top. Kudos! Then (just curious!): is there any particular reason known that the amount of memory is an issue for GLshim? Then secondly: I do have an orange pi + (H3, 1 GB memory, Mali400)... according to the changelog GLShim is not in... For me it does not make sense... Regards, Makama80

I've had an Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 H5 for a few months, and it is driving me crazy. I can easily boot into the useless Android distro included on the eMMC. I can run most of the distros on the OrangePi website, although they seem to all be missing features or not working 100% in one way or another. I would LOVE to run Armbian on this board. Each time I try, I have huge problems. My video signal is often garbled or at best full of artifacts. I get segfaults every few minutes, and it seems like the filesystem is corrupted. I've tried running it with multiple power supplies (I have several Canakit 2.5amp ones), as well as several different gen…

Hi guys, I have the bad idea to build up little by little some house automation with an opi1 that I don't use. Just for fun. So I'd like to start with armbian and build everything from there, with no precompiled images. The first thing I want to try is Google assistant. Can I use the assistant sdk that I can find on official website? Or there is something better for opi? Can I eventually integrate it with something like Hass.io or similar? I'm open for any advice. Thank you in advance

Hello all ! I connected relle to pins (Physical): Relle Orange in 35 gnd 6 ucc 2 But it is constantly active (on), although the port status 32 is off (0). Why is that? # gpio write 24 1 Changes the port status, but has no effect on the relay. Relle ist ON alweys! If you physically disable the pin (in - 35), then the relay is turned off. I just installed the system. I did not install any additional services and packages. Maybe I need to configure something in the system to activate the GPIO?

Hi. I have made a system with O Pi Lite and Armbian to automate an aquarium from where to control the light, the bubbles and with a webcam I can see the system through the web, everything automated from Cron. From a web page I can turn on and off the lights and bubbles from web buttons. Everything is fine. The problem arises when I want to put some phisical buttons for 3 things: turn off the system, change the state of light and bubbles. I have used a code in Python and the PYA20 library. This is the code. It works very well, but when I start it with the system, the program stop working soon and the buttons stop to work. #!/usr/bin/env python from pyA20.gpio…

I would like to set a GPIO to output-high during the boot. In this case, the GPIO is PG0 whose number is 192. The device tree overlay is /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "allwinner,sun50i-a64"; fragment@0 { target = <&pio>; __overlay__ { gpio_out_override_hog { gpio-hog; gpios = <192 0>; /* PG0 */ output-high; line-name = "PG0-gpio-hog"; }; }; }; }; However, after the application and reboot, I do not see any init information in "/sys/kernel/gpio" about GPIO 192. There is no "/sys/class/gpio/gpio192" folder existed after boot either. Is there anything wrong in the overlay file?

Hello, I am new to armbian and am quite impressed of the ease of installation and use. I copied the vanilla headless Debian jessy to a spare SD and the board booted right away. So first of all, many thanks to the developers! I rely on GPIO for my application of the board, so I first tested the export of a GPIO. Normally, the kernel from Olimex gives me something like "gpio64_pg0", which is not very compatible to the programs out in the internet (e.g. OpenHAB.org which I use), so – with this kernel – I was happy to get a standard "gpio1" when echoing "1" to "export". But as soon as I tried to change the direction echo out > gpio1/direction the whole board…

Hi all! I have Orange Pi One with Armbian Debian 5.8.9-sunxi on board. The problem is that when I catch 2 kHz square wave with OPi gpio, I have very big delta between signals. If I use "interrupt both endges" parameter for gpio, time between signals must be 250 microsecs. But now it floats between 200 - 290 microsecs. And I have achive this result after some suggestions from other forum topics: using isolcpu=3, run c program on this cpu, use max priority, disable powersaving for CPU. I try to read with wiringOP lib, and directly from sysfs, but still have jittering about 90 us. Also I think, that I have not very bad results for cyclict…

Hello everyone :-). I would like help, I checked on the Web and I found using the forum a script (that I modified) to trigger using DTS LEDs. I adapted the script found here at the end of the page: Topic 112-dtb-howto-add-leds I think that for the section "disk-activity" and "netdev" it misses options but I'm not a developer just a scheming. Can you please explain to me how to add options to the mentioned trigger? I searched a lot of time but did not find any information. Here is my script, everything works fine (compiled with armbian-add-overlay), but "disk-activity" and "netdev" do not work. I tested the write / read trigger on disk but did no…

Hello, I'm running Armbian wiith Kernel 3.4.112-sun8i on an Orange PI PC. In addition I compiled WiringOP patched for Orange PI to check GPIO. I have connected a transmitter which communicates using SPI and an additional GPIO PIN to send interrupts. The device is not working yet and I try to find out the problem. It works fine with an Rasp. For example, I'm a little bit confused about the following: /sys/class/gpio/gpio5/direction shows me "in" "gpio readall" shows me: | 18 | 1 | OUT | GPIO.5 | 5 | 24 | Of course, I could change the mode using the gpio command, but I would expect, that both values match? Could it be too, that the inter…

Hello every one I'm new to this site and I have recently purchased an Orange Pi Win Plus but got a lot of issues in configuring it. Hi, i have managed to install a wiring Pi version for my Orange Pi lite following this tutorial: https://gist.github.com/lanefu/f16a67195c9fa35c466c6b50cdaeadea The basic examples with inputs and outputs are working fine. Since I want to use a rotary encoder and not loose any steps I want to use a interrupt driven callback. There is an example as well but that does not work. I get: wiringPiISR: unable to open /sys/class/gpio/gpio25/value: No such file or directory I also tried several other libraries but non was working. Has anybody managed to get GPIO interrupt based callbacks working with python an an Oragnge Pi ?

Recently i have been experimenting with interrupts on orange pi zero plus2-H3 trying to capture data-ready pulses from an external adc on gpio PA19. The aim is to synchronize spi-read-data transactions with the incoming adc data-ready signal. First I tried to get it to work on legacy kernel 3.4 by adding the following section in to /boot/script.fex and compile the .fex file to .bin file using fex2bin: [gpio_para] gpio_used = 1 gpio_num = 6 .... gpio_pin_6 = port:PA19<0><default><default><1> This configured the pin properly as i had tested on other pins with some leds and it works. The driver code for capturing the interrupt was based o…

Hello, guys! I'm trying to make use of gpio-poweroff procedure. I'm trying to understand the consequences of the approach I've used. Here's what I did 1) Added power_ctrl: power_ctrl { compatible = "gpio-poweroff"; gpios = <&pio 6 11 GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH>; force; }; to arch/arm64/boot/dts/allwinner/sun50i-h5-nanopi-neo-plus2.dts 2) Recompiled the device tree blob and put it where it belongs The gpio-poweroff's code got probed but failed due to `pm_poweroff_handler` being set to something. So I figured it out that it's set to `psci_sys_poweroff` in [drivers/firmware/psci.c](https://github…

Hello, currently I am working on my Orange pi one system (Armbian Linux orangepione 3.4.113-sun8i #10 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 23 19:55:00 CET 2017 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux) to get my ILI9341-TFT display to work using the fb_ili9341 kernel module. Hello all, Firstly, a huge thank you to Igor and team for Armbian, I love it and appreciate you for the effort and time you have dedicated to this amazing project, thank you. I have used Armbian on Cubieboard II for a number of years now, running my main server with QuadlogSCADA for my off-grid renewable system at my home. Now, I have had an Olimex LIME-2 eMMC4GB board sitting idle for a while on the corner of my desk and over the past few weeks have been inspired to do some programming with it. So, on this LIME2 board, I have the latest nightly builds, installed to eMMC, all working fine so far. Then, I though to connect a standard 20x4 ch…

Hi, I have an Orange Pi Plus 2e and I've installed Armbian_5.59_Orangepiplus2e_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113_desktop. I need to play four hd videos at the same time. I could do it with Raspberry pi3 model B with 720M GPU memory. I played videos with MPV with X11 but couldn't play with VPDAU. It is just played only one video. What can I do? Can I set GPU memory? Thank you.

Hey guys, I've spent the last couple of weeks trying to get a TFT display with touch screen to work on my Orange Pi PC board, and I've decided to share my step-by-step solution here. This tutorial is heavily based on Guide: How to use Touchscreen + LCD on H3 devices by Kutysam, but I had to do some extra steps for it to work properly. This tutorial is only for Mainline kernel, I was able to get the graphical screen working with Kutysam's guide for Legacy, but couldn't make the touch work. First of all this is the display I'm using: LCD module Pi TFT 3.5 inch (320*480) Touchscreen Display Module TFT for Raspberry Pi 3. I believe it is a clone of this Waveshare…

It took me a while to get this ILI9340 based LCD monitor working with the Orange Pi Zero until I found a post on this forum that explains how the H2+ ports are mapped to the GPIO numbers in the Linux kernel. So I built an online tool that does the math for you: Here is a map of all the Orange Pi Zero GPIO pins: All the additional details are described in this blog post.

Hi there, I've just got my first H3 board (OPi Zero +2) and I'm interested in learning how boot process works in detail, with a focus on Security ID features. As far I can see there's not that much documentation about S/NBROM (essentially linux-sunxi's Wiki and Allwinner-info git repo) and what's supposed to be H3's NBROM (header 1100, 1100, 1633) looks like slightly different from A10's one (from git) at first glance. Is there anyone here who has already worked on it and/or has info/symbols/pseudocode/whatever might speed up the reversing process? Thank you!

Hello, I am new to this forum and I would like to ask a question concerning Allwinner's H3 eFuse feature. Studying the chip's datasheet, I saw that there is this eFuse feature, which would be mightily handy for my to-come project using H3 or H2+ hardware (OPi Zero to be specific) as a basis in combination with Armbian (which I find fantastic btw). Is there any driver available for this feature? I couldn't find any info on the net so far. Thx a lot for your time and efforts. BR, andormaybe

I wanna start out and say I have been using Armbian for a year and it's been great. Thank you. I have built many images over the year and have only noticed the issue recently. I have noticed in the bionic builds for OpiZ+ that some base level packages are missing. The one I noticed was netplan. This is the new standard for bionic. I have not compiled a complete list of missing packages at this time. I had built this image before around 5.0-5.1 kernel release without issue. Netplan was included. Current build at 5.3 RC does not include this package. I suspect that others may be removed. Are these packages missing intentionall…

This maybe something that just isn't available yet, but if I can help with the development I am happy to. I have created the following patches as a starting point but they don't yet work. Looking at the source code for the spidev module and comparing it to the H3 datasheet, it would appear that the H3 uses the sun6i spi register addresses. Though the datasheet lists the RX and TX buffers as 64 bytes whereas the sun6i spidev driver implements 128byte buffers. I'm assuming that this wont be a problem at least for testing as long as I don't try and transfer or receive more than 64 bytes. As you can see from the dtsi patch, I have updated the module memory locatio…

Hi, I bought nanopi_neo boards (for my hobby projects). I am learning about security. I am able to dump e-Fuse area at uboot stage. But i can't modify it (i want to write my own key). I don't have any memory map information of e-fuse. In present boards, bootROM is not verifying the uboot signature(RSA sign:-)). 1) How to enable signature verification in bootROM? 2) Is there any code or information regarding BootROM security and e-Fuse area mapping? 3) Is there any support of TEE (Trusted execution environment)?

Hi all, I've come upon a weird thing and I wanted to verify that I don't so something wrong. I've build a custom kernel module which is a PWM led device with an SPI interface. If I use the spidev, then everything works fine and I'm able to control the led. But when I'm using a custom device-tree and load the module then when I'm calling the `spi_write()` function then I'm getting an error (-22). The external device is actually an arduino nano that implements an I2C IIO light measurement device, using a dual light dependent resistor. Also I'm using the SPI channel to drive a led using PWM. It's very straight-forward a…

I want to set my pi to use 1 cpu core, disable usb ports and set Ethernet link speed at 100Mb/s etc to reduce consumption however not all the changes will apply at once (see picture attached) If cpu is running at one core and ram at reduced speed, ethernet link speed will still be at 1gbps and the other way round when Link speed is at 100Mbps.
