  2. Hi there, Orange Pi PC+, Armbian Stretch. What I want is to replicate current router (OpenWRT Barrier Breaker on TP-LINK MR3220 v1) on and Orange Pi. I use this router to "share" (using scp from host PC) an USB flash dongle (remote site backup). With its processor copying filer over WiFi SCP is terribly slow (1.2MB/sec). Network Manager "proposes" me to create an WiFi network, but with only NO security or only WEP. I use WPA personal. Configuration on router wlan0 as an AP (WPA), wlan0-1 as WiFi client (also WPA different SSID) with WDS enabled (to act as bridge member), eth0 as usual. All those 3 interfaces bridged together an …

  3. I'm using g_ether to connect OrangePiPc+ to network over USB OTG. On legacy kernel, that was giving 140 Mbits/sec IN (download from network to OrangePiPc+) and 170 Mbits/sec OUT. After upgrading to mainline kernel 4.19.62 (or 5.3.9), IN throughput degraded to 93-98 Mbits/sec (while OUT improved reaching up to 210 Mbits/sec in CDC EEM mode). This easily reproducible on both my boards OrangePiPc+ and OrangePiZero with latest Bionic images (clean installations + "modprobe g_ether iProduct="Linux-USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget" iManufacturer="Netchip Technology, Inc." dev_addr=02:81:05:F0:5C:24 host_addr=02:81:05:F0:5C:23 use_eem=0" ). 41. Hello, I have just bought a bananaPro. I would like to learn a little by installing armbian and enabling the video acceleration. Currently, I have no LCD display, so I would start to install Debian Wheezy or Debian Jessie (legacy) so that to be able to log in through ssh. Nevertheless, on the download page for bananaPro it is said that "Mali drivers fails to compile". Is this driver mandatory for video acceleration to work ? I figured out it was rather related to cedarX. Then, which armbian image is best suited ? Thanks in advance for some piece of advice. Best regards deb2016

As JohnGo did wrote May 2016 on this page is a picture of the pcDuino v1: So I checked the specifications v1 <--> v2 and found ony that v2 has only a WiFi-Board soldered where on the v1 is a additionally USB-Port. Also the v1 is missing the Arduino-Headers, but has some other pin-rows for GPIO and so on. CPU (single-Core 1Ghz) and Ram (whopping 1GB for 2012) is the same I wrote the pcDuino v2 Image to a uSD and booted it without problems. (and changed /etc/upd…

  53. I bought a Cubieboard AIO A20 Einstein and wanted to install Armbian. Is there an image I can use to get access to this board? I tried a few images following the install with sd card with no success. I have gone back and forth burning images, reformatting the drive, test and trying again. I'm a newbie but I have completed several installs on other machines just not one like this. I'm outside my comfort zone but keep on trying. I can install to msata and boot from that and there are boot settings in the Cubie desktop. Knowing what image to use (if any for Cubieboard AIO A20 Einstein) moving forward would be helpful. I have an Orange Pi One Plus with the H6 chip in it and I'm quite happy with how well it's supported by Armbian. I haven't really had any problems with it. I do have one question, though. I'm using armbianmonitor to "-m" monitor the machine and I notice that the temps are always pretty hot. Even at idle (480MHz) it still shows 72C. That seems higher than I would have expected. Is this normal, expected behavior? I understand that the SoC thermal monitoring code in the kernel is pretty new and therefore might not be perfect, yet. So, I thought I'd ask. Because it may just be my board that's off. Does anyone know if this is normal? Info: …

  58. Hi Armbians I am running mulitiple TOR network relays on Cubietruck boards (Cubieboard 3) in different Datacenters with synchronous 100 MBit/s internet connection each board (by ethernet plug) for 1- 1,5 years now. At the beginning each board could handle 25 MBit/s incomming and outgoing traffic the same time easy and 24/7. The boards are running the latest Armbian build with kernel headers installed and full firmware package. But now, as you can see here, my Cubietrucks are getting slower after time, with the network traffic they can handle via eth0: https://metrics.torproject.org/rs.html#details/EC9C4CDB403204731122C9D3FA44DFAE6…

  78. I apologize for asking such a basic question. I have recompiled the wifi module on an Orange Pi PC+ to operate in concurrent mode so it can act in both station and AP mode at the same time, allowing it to be a wifi repeater. The problem is, this feature is lost on every kernel upgrade, requiring me to recompile the module each time I upgrade the kernel. The kernel module driver often changes slightly between kernel versions, and I have to track down and fix new bugs in the source code that prevent it from compiling when concurrent mode is enabled. I'm happy with how the wifi module performs now, but don't want to lose the ability to get needed kernel updat…

I have updated the bootloader, and OS, and the performance is still abysmally poor. Mechanical or SSD drive connected to on board SATA yields a whopping 2.7-10 MB/sec write speed using dd with a large block size, or with the iozone tool ~5 upto ~45 for larger block sizes. Still a very far cry from the ~120 after the kernel patch applied in ~2019 => https://forum.armbian.com/topic/10352-a20-sata-write-speed-improvement/ …

Looking at the NeoPi Nano Air's pinout diagram, it seems to have more UART devices (UART1 and UART2 even) so I wonder whether there's a way to set up armbian to communicate via these during boot? Another idea I had was to try to bypass the UART completely and to hook up the board via the wifi. Now, without having any access to a serial console, I need to …

  97. Hi, I was wondering if anyone was having issues with the ethernet port using the legacy kernel ? It does seem to kind of work ... it will get DHCP from the router and configure the routing tables etc but after that it goes wonky. When I do a ping test from the router I get "50/50 transmitted, 15/50 received, 70% loss". A ping test from the opi-win to the router gets a similar result. If I try a ping/ssh from a PC connected to the router I get a 95% packet loss Everything else seems to work fine ... HDMI, USB, WiFi (AP/STA modes) which is really, really nice. Thanks TB

  98. Hello there, I was looking at the gc2035 camera sensor for the orange pi device. I want the camera module to load as fast as possible and take pictures as fast as possible. When I use a USB camera, it takes 2-3 seconds to load the module and activate the camera, and the camera takes 2 seconds. I'm thinking of compiling the GC2035 camera statically to the linux kernel. But I'm not sure how much time decrease. What I would like to know is, how fast is the camera taking pictures and how long is the loading time of the camera modules? Can I take pictures under 200 ms with the camera triggered? The Raspifastcamd module allows …

Hello, on older Orange Pi zero I used nmcli for creating access point or connecting as a client to wifi. Now I am running Linux orangepizeroplus2 3.4.113-sun8i #4 SMP PREEMPT Wed Nov 22 13:45:28 CET 2017 armv7l on Orange Pi Zero plus2 h3 but I am not able to create access point with this (it does not work as on older OpiZero, I am using the same commands): nmcli c add type wifi ifname wlan0 con-name connection-name autoconnect no ssid hotspotssid nmcli connection modify connection-name 802-11-wireless.mode ap 802-11-wireless.band bg ipv4.method shared nmcli connection modify connection-name wifi-sec.key-mgmt wpa-psk nmcli connection modify connection-name …

  100. Greetings all. I am having no success getting access to gpio pins in NR using opi-gpio. I am trying to re-build a system that I messed up due to an update. The update broke access to the 1-wire host adapter I had running on I2C. I have searched and read a lot trying to find a solution but I am not making enough sense of the solutions I read to even know if they apply or if I am applying them correctly. Very frustrating because I had this working once but that was a number of versions ago for both armbian and NR. Also, the gpio pins were working even after the I2c update. In the process of 'fixing' that I started over with current armbian: mil…
