  1. Hello, I used your newest Debian wheezy Image 3.8. Boot up from SD installed to NAND via script so far everything fine. But if I remove the SD card it won't boot anymore, it even doesn't show some output on serial connection. Can you give me a hint how to solve it? Thanks Fips

  2. Armbianmonitor: http://ix.io/3UHS Hi all After update kernel from 5.10.60 to 5.15 or 5.16 on my Orange PI PC+ MJPEG-Streamer throws: Quote libv4l2: error turning on stream: Cannot allocate memory motion throws: Quote [1:ml1] [ERR] [VID] v4l2_set_mmap: Error starting stream. 4. Hey guys, I would like to interface a small RGB24 LCD on the H3 GPIO, similar to this on raspberry pi : https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/dpi/README.md http://blog.reasonablycorrect.com/raw-dpi-raspberry-pi Is this feature already present on armbian device tree overlay? If no, how would one make it? Could someone help drawing the big picture so I know where to start? After having a look at this section : https://docs.armbian.com/Hardware_Allwinner_overlays/ I understand that it would require writing a dt overlay (.dts file) to attribute the different functions to the GPIOs. But then how to wri…

  7. Hi, my current project is about using a NanoPI M1 as a controller for a 3D printer. As such, one wants to have very tight timing on the GPIO output, with as little jitter as possible, to get smooth motion of the stepper motors. However, it is common belief that getting a fast timing with little jitter is virtually impossible to do under linux, without the help of a dedicated chip just for the IO. While that is true in general on stock kernels, it's possible to vastly improve on that front by spending a little effort. One way on ARM chips is to use the FIQ. That is an interrupt that has the highest priority, which can interrupt all other, regular interrupts. Ho…

  8. Hi, in an attempt to add new information and correct conflicting information over at the bottom of https://linux-sunxi.org/SID_Register_Guide#Currently_known_SID.27s it would be great if as many owner of Allwinner boards could execute most recent sbc-bench version and post/share the result link here (ix.io/sprunge.us) https://github.com/ThomasKaiser/sbc-bench#execution The new sbc-bench version always lists the SID identifier next to the SoC so that it reads as follows for example: SoC guess: Allwinner H6 (SID: 82c00007) Especially boards with 64-bit SoCs like H618, H616, H6, H5, A64 but also R40/V40 and exotic varia…

  9. Hello Everybody, Iḿ using a Cubietruck (Cubieboard3) I ve tried to install the Jessie Server and the Xenial Server with the vanilla Kernel. Both effords failed. The bootprocess from SD Card starts, but it dosen t come to an end. The following things happen: In the beginning there is a short warning regarding mmc. After that the bootprocess starts, but then the message "Running /script/local-block..done" appers many times. Then there is another error message and the process starts from the beginning. Details in the picture. I don t think that the SD Card or the Cubieboard is the problem, because the Jessie Server with the legacy kernel and the old cubian are…

  10. I was testing the orangepi PC+ armbian build 5.20 (Armbian_5.20_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop) when messing with it it seemed to have random reboots. I thought initially it was because it was lacking a heatsink or fan. So I added both and the issue persisted. Thinking maybe if I flashed to emmc it might resolve the issue it froze in emmc install and is effectively softbricked from what I can tell sadly. I also tested a second OPIPC+ but was unable to get it to boot. I tested with multiple new power cables as well.

  11. I have been working with the legacy Ubuntu on this board with great success - and now on the latest nightly build of Ubuntu ARMBIAN 5.32.170921 nightly Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS 4.11.12-sun8i All is well, thanks to this command added to /boot/armbianEnv.txt overlays=uart1 uart2 uart3 i2c0 i2c1 I can now see all the ports - and both I2c channels - the ONLY issue I have is that UART0 is occupied doing serial debug and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to turn this off. I do not need a serial debug port and would rather use this as a general purpose serial port. When I try however, debug info comes out.. Can someone tell me…

  12. When the system call # /sbin/fstrim --all the process enters intermittent sleep, and all the following processes gradually obtain the same state. In crontab it appears as a task of the # fstrim -v / system, the same command if I do it manually also has the same result of never ending and blocking the other processes little by little until the system is totally blocked. Can it be disabled? As a check that is compatible with the microsd? Any recommendation?

  14. Hi there, I have upgraded from Jessie to Stretch, apt-get update apt-get upgrade change repo name in apt config files update, upgrade. 16. I’ve been running Armbian from an SSD for a while using this guide: https://jamesachambers.com/orange-pi-zero-2-usb-ssd-boot-guide/ Recently, after running apt update && apt full-upgrade, the following issues have occurred: 1. Wi-Fi adapter is no longer detected. 2. CPU utilization exceeds 80% when accessing the Gnome launcher or starting GUI apps (e.g., a web browser, even without opening a webpage). 3. The system becomes laggy and nearly unusable, noticeable when moving the mouse. Are there recent changes to Armbian that affect SSD booting? Is there a workaround for these issues?

I tried to browse the network and look for my Tplink NAS router and it says "this location could not be displayed." I would appreciate any ideas to get samba running.

Hi all. I recently bought an Orange Pi Lite. After trying to get the power switch to work as a power switch (by this I mean booting the board when it was previously shutdown), and after searching for a while, it seems that the power switch in the Orange Pi Lite is not a real one, but it's instead connected to a GPIO. Do you guys know of any Orange Pi board that implements a proper power switch? Thanks.

First, thanks to the developers for creating a system that works very well, much better than the official distros. The question is if you could add to repositories Amule and their add-ons: Amuled, amule common, amule-utils and Gnome-support. Thank you.

I'm running OpenElec on a NanoPI-M1 and one thing missing is having the screen blanked when the screensaver kicks in, allowing the monitor to power down. In Kodi there's no option to do it, unlike when running in other OS. Probably someone is going to direct me at CEC but that does not work for me as I have a PC monitor connected to the board through a HDMI->VGA adaptor. I've read in the sunxi docs that the '/sys/class/graphics/fb0/blank' sysfs entry should control blanking for the framebuffer, therefore blanking the HDMI output, but it either does not work that way or at all, as nothing happens. On the RP world there is a command line utility that can enable/disabl…

  65. Hi everyone, I'd like to ask and confirm: is there any working HDMI method with proper resolution currently for the Pi+2E, as of 5.59? I'm asking because I have tried next, I have tried dev, and I have tried the legacy kernel. None of them gave any satisfactory result at all. Mainline Kernel 4.14 -- There is HDMI graphics, but the resolution is stuck to no more than 1024x768. I read many times that this is the case when the HDMI was not detected. I've been trying out some of the pre-built Armbian images on my Orange Pi Zero to get a taste for the OS and it's perfect for my purposes, however I've noticed something odd about the current mainline images that's possibly a small oversight. I browsed the forums before posting and noticed that TV Out functionality has been disabled by default on H3-based boards due to an interference with HDMI output on mainline, which is naturally understandable. There's only one small problem - the same patch has been applied to H2+ boards which lack an HDMI Out altogether. I've explored the image currently provided (the latest …

  90. The system v26.11 rolling for Orange Pi PC Plus running Armbian Linux 6.18.53-current-sunxi cannot boot from eMMC on the Orange Pi PC Plus. The bootloader is looking for an old partition on /dev/mmcblk0p1, whereas the current partition of emmc is identified differently - as /dev/mmcblk2p1. Therefore, it is necessary to use a bootloader from an SD card, which specifies the path to the eMMC partition for subsequent operation.
