Hi, I want to use my cubietruck to play the video in HD and with spdif pass-trougth and I want use mopidy. with last armbian jessie desktop : with mplayer2 : pass-trougth is ok but video is too slow with mpv : I heard a very loud noise at the output of the amplifier is not DTS decoding and is transmitted as the pcm.--> it is a kernel problem: the driver sends a sound that is not recognized by the amplifier. the SPDIF sound format is limited to 24 bits video is OK. mopidy is OK with last armbian xenial: it work because mpv is very old with mplayer2 : pass-through and video is ok but kernel panic when I put the video paused--> kernel bug solved : …

Hi! I've tried to compile the lwjgl lib on my opiplus2, but I'm stuck on ant compile_native_es. ant jars_es finished successfully. The error: [apply] /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lEGL Tried to install libegl1-mesa-dev package but it conflicts with the mali driver package. Is it possible to compile the lwjgl with opengl-es on the opi, or that's a dead idea? Thanks in advance!

I finally decided to give armbian a try on my Orange Pi One. Started without any issue and then I noticed that the 50°c idle. Sounds a bit high. I compliled mplayer with j3 and saw the temperature reaching 90°c then throttling down the frequency to 600MHz with a temperature of 70°c. Ultimately this board is nowhere faster than a RPI2 if it is stuck to 600MHz under heavy load. Or my Orange PI One has a serious problem. Any advice?

[This is a repost of my own post at orangepi.org.] Hi, I'm very excited to use the Armbian on Orange Pi One. Without rebuilding a kernel or fex file, here is how to configure the Orange Pi One governor so the "[ 150.135554] [cpu_freq] ERR:set cpu frequency to 648MHz failed!" and "[ARISC ERROR] messages no longer appear in dmesg. We will set it to 912MHz on the low end and 1200MHz on the higher end which scale up and down properly on the Orange Pi One. This is until you update your fex file and/or kernel config to use different values for the CPU frequency scaling that are a little different on the Orange Pi One than they are on the Orange Pi PC. Put it in your /e…

I have a orange pi pc (H3). I connected a thermal printer which has a TTL interface so I connected the TX wire from the printer to 8 and RX to 10 to orange pi. I change the serial port in my script to /dev/ttyS0 and tried a test print but it will not print. I have tried this in raspberry pi 2 and it works. Any tips how to connect the thermal printer to orange pi.

Hi, Since latest update just a few days ago (Linux bananapi 4.5.5-sunxi) , the bananpi keeps telling me this: [ 5 updates to install: apt-get upgrade] . When i try to upgrade there arent anything to upgrade. In did apt-get update and apt-get upgrade and nothing to upgrade. I manually execute /etc/update-motd/40-updates and its true that it says that there are 5 updates. So there must be something there that its not chaning. Any tips on this? EDIT: ok i just fixed this by manually editing the file /var/cache/apt/archives/updates.number and setting it to 0 but i think this should be automatic and it wasn't working for some reason. Hello guys, apparently there is a new product in the orangepi lineup. It is the PC+ (PC Plus), which has 8gb EMMC and a Wifi chip onboard. The rest of the features seems to be the same as the plain OrangePI PC. The new SBC can't be found on the orangepi official site, but it is available on aliexpress: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Orange-Pi-PC-Plus-ubuntu-linux-and-android-mini-PC-Beyond-Raspberry-Pi-2/1553371_32668618847.html

Little question: i did an apt-get upgrade with latest armbian 5.11, there linux-u-boot-orangepiplus_5.11_armhf was installed automatically. Did i have to write u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin manually to partition with dd? And if yes, to which partition (armbian is installed to emmc, i have mmcblk0p1, mmcblk0boot0 and mmcblk0boot1)? Thx

Hi Igor and all, after running armbian on my A20 lime2 for a long time, I decided to switch to armbian on my A10 lime, too (from jessie with a eewiki-based self-compiled kernel). So far it works as perfect as the A20, but there are two small and funny things with the Armbian_5.00_Lime-a10_Debian_jessie_3.4.110.zip image I used: After login the nice armbian banner stated that my A10 lime is a cubieboard . I have a cubieboard, too. So I double checked... The problem is located in /etc/init.d/armhwinfo, There all "sun4i" boards are simply "Cubieboard". I had to adapt the LED check which is used to detect Lime and Lime2 a bit and added the Lime A10. I ch…

So, the Linux Kernel 4.6 is out. Supposedly it comes with a lot of new ARM processor support. I'm excited about this. I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to kernel development, especially with ARM devices. I guess the question is, what's it going to take to move the devices that use these supposedly newly supported chips up to 4.6? I'm somewhat keen on updating to a kernel that isn't approaching EOL.

Hi there, I've been trying for a few hours now to get the GPIOs working with the mainline kernel (ARMBIAN Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 4.5.2-sunxi). According to the board layout photo, I am using PG0, PG1, PG2 and PG3. With the legacy kernel, they export as GPIO1-PG0 a.s.o. accordingly and work perfectly. So I calculate the GPIO pin number: G is 7th letter, 7 - 1 is 6, 6 * 32 is 192. GPIO192 exports fine, I can set it to output, change the value to 1 but there's no voltage! Can anyone help me, please?

Hello, how to enable analog tvout? I have OpiPC board with legacy jessie desktop armbian image. I added module tv in /etc/modules. I change script.bin with: [disp_init] disp_init_enable = 1 disp_mode = 1 screen0_output_type = 3 screen0_output_mode = 10 screen1_output_type = 2 screen1_output_mode = 11 fb0_format = 0 fb0_width = 0 fb0_height = 0 fb1_format = 0 fb1_width = 0 fb1_height = 0 [tv_para] tv_used = 1 tv_dac_used = 1 tv_dac_src0 = 0 But there is no signal at all... I checked tvout with loboris ubuntu image (added "tv" to /etc/modules and fixed script.bin) and my tvout worked well. I noticed that when ubuntu image is loading tvout already gives to…

Good evening. I am preparing an Orange PI Plus 2 in order to be the first computer for my 8 years old son. The idea is that he could learn Scratch by watching some video tutorials in YouTube The problem is that actually, if you pause a video, and the you want for it to restart, only video does it. Sound doesn't starts again. It remains muted. Then, if you click to watch another video, sound come back. But you loose it again if this second video is also paused. It's a bit annoying. Do you have the same issue ? Best regard. Maesstrissimo.

Hello, First I would like to thank Igor for his amazing work on Armbian! I know that the Lamobo/BPI R1 is very problematic with power and SATA, but when I installed Armbian 5.1 jessie with the legacy kernel, it seems that the SATA is working fine. But when I tried the same Armbian 5.1 with vanilla kernel it wasn't able to boot and the hard drive made knocking noises. Just to make sure, I disconnected the HD and it booted fine. I think that this is a software problem (maybe uboot?) because as I mentioned it works with the older kernel. I tried installing the uboot package bananapro-next as Igor adviced someone with a banana pro but it didn't help. I'm using a good…

I've tried the current armbian release legacy & vanilla with my bpi m1+ board. and it looks like it's still have some distance away from an idea linux enviroment . The legacy version I've apt-get update and upgrade after login into the system, so all the software in the system is on their latest version. on default configuration, the wifi is not usable. I've to uncomment the ap6211 line in the /etc/modules file. after uncomment and restart, the wifi is usable and stable (very cool !). I've tried to transport 100G+ data through wifi interface, doesn't have any trouble with it. I can see card0 and card1 in the /proc/asound/ sub directory. and aplay -l can list 2…

TKaiser. If you install the Desktop version of Armbian 5.10 then the following list of codecs (containing h.265 with 8 bit but not 10 bit!) is available for HW accelerated decoding: http://linux-sunxi.o...ed_codec_matrix Is 8 Bit versus 10 Bit a limitation. Can the Orange Pi PC with Armbian 1.10 decode all HEVC 8 or 10 bit encoding to 8 bit decoding, or can it ONLY do 8bit encoded to 8 bit decoding? Seasalt

Hi. Can anybody give me any idea on how to find out why it is crashing? I recently moved to this distro, and it is now crashing after 1 to 4 days of continuous usage. The thing is, I have no idea how to find out why it is happening, and how to fix it. Which log should I go for? I was running this Aruntu before, and never had this issue, which seems to show that this is not an hardware issue. Best, João

Hello. I'm having trouble with infrared receiver. Whether the sunxi_cir driver installed in kernel or not, there is nothing in /dev/input except "event0", which is the power controller. Dmesg doesn't show anything neither. Version: Armbian 4.5 Lamobo-r1 Debian jessie next (unofficial), kernel 4.2.3. IR support was declared on download web page, so I decided to get vanilla kernel. That's because I had already tried Bananian with 3.18 kernel, and there were huge problems with kernel ppp (up to freezes of whole device). Has anybody encountered this problem?

It worked fine, but after some mins both LEDs were on. And nothing was working. I did the things I said above many times and the same happend. And once I d…

Hi guys, I am very sorry to bother you, I tried everything I could to make this work but unfortunately, I can't figure it out. So here I am asking for help ! Hello ! I'm a proud owner of a Opi One which is supposed to be my media server and torrent server. I downloaded and installed Armbian, set it up, everything works great, but the only problem is video playing. I tried to run multiple videos and multiple formats (.mkv, .mp4) but the player remains black. If I go on youtube, the video plays but it's very laggy (like 10fps). What should I do ? Thank you ! Hi, I've tried to finally move on from 5.04, but the new image doesn't boot. At least, HDMI doesn't show anything and my router doesn't see the board when connected via ethernet. On the first power-on the green led glows a few minutes, then red one blinks a few times alone, then both leds blink and then only green one glows. On successive boots only green led glows uninterruptedly. Do you need any information to make it work? BTW, legacy kernel worked fine for me, except my HDD connected with hdd-usb adapter (Agestar 3FBCP1) spits errors every few seconds and performance is unbearable.
