Hello, I just bought an OPi-Zero and loaded Ubuntu image with legacy kernel(tried the debian one too).Wifi is failing to load for some reason.I checked various posts in armbian forum and checked that xradio_wlan driver is loaded twice,as suggested. kernel module dhd is blacklisted as well. Today I was going through my cupboard and did find a original pcDuino (v1) with A10-CPU and 1GB of Ram. In my mind I got the pcDuino v2 download-page of armbian. As JohnGo did wrote May 2016 on this page is a picture of the pcDuino v1: So I checked the specifications v1 <--> v2 and found ony that v2 has only a WiFi-Board soldered where on the v1 is a additionally USB-Port. Also the v1 is missing the Arduino-Headers, but has some other pin-rows for GPIO and so on. CPU (single-Core 1Ghz) and Ram (whopping 1GB for 2012) is the same I wrote the pcDuino v2 Image to a uSD and booted it without problems. (and changed /etc/upd…

I bought a Cubieboard AIO A20 Einstein and wanted to install Armbian. Is there an image I can use to get access to this board? I tried a few images following the install with sd card with no success. I have gone back and forth burning images, reformatting the drive, test and trying again. I'm a newbie but I have completed several installs on other machines just not one like this. I'm outside my comfort zone but keep on trying. I can install to msata and boot from that and there are boot settings in the Cubie desktop. Knowing what image to use (if any for Cubieboard AIO A20 Einstein) moving forward would be helpful. Any other tips, suggestions, how to's, and successes wou…

Hi Everyone, Is there anything additional required to enable better performance improvements (kernel patch for TXTS and RXTS are set to 3 each see below link) on a Banana PI running Armbian V21 / V22 ? I have updated the bootloader, and OS, and the performance is still abysmally poor. Mechanical or SSD drive connected to on board SATA yields a whopping 2.7-10 MB/sec write speed using dd with a large block size, or with the iozone tool ~5 upto ~45 for larger block sizes. Still a very far cry from the ~120 after the kernel patch applied in ~2019 => https://forum.armbian.com/topic/10352-a20-sata-write-speed-improvement/ …

Hello there, I was looking at the gc2035 camera sensor for the orange pi device. I want the camera module to load as fast as possible and take pictures as fast as possible. When I use a USB camera, it takes 2-3 seconds to load the module and activate the camera, and the camera takes 2 seconds. I'm thinking of compiling the GC2035 camera statically to the linux kernel. But I'm not sure how much time decrease. What I would like to know is, how fast is the camera taking pictures and how long is the loading time of the camera modules? Can I take pictures under 200 ms with the camera triggered? The Raspifastcamd module allows …

Hello everyone :-). I would like help, I checked on the Web and I found using the forum a script (that I modified) to trigger using DTS LEDs. I adapted the script found here at the end of the page: Topic 112-dtb-howto-add-leds I think that for the section "disk-activity" and "netdev" it misses options but I'm not a developer just a scheming. Can you please explain to me how to add options to the mentioned trigger? I searched a lot of time but did not find any information. Here is my script, everything works fine (compiled with armbian-add-overlay), but "disk-activity" and "netdev" do not work. I tested the write / read trigger on disk but did no…

Hi all, The plot thickens. This is only an issue when eth0 is given an IPv6 address by my home router. If i disable IPv6 at home my problem goes away. I am having some issues getting wireguard to play the game. I have a fresh Armbian Focal 22.02 install on a NanoPi Neo. The problem is that the wirguard interface comes up, then traffic doesn't flow., not even to the other side of the wireguard link (10.66.0.1). tcpdmping on the other side of the connection shows no packets at all coming into the far ends 51820. Stopping wireguard on both sides and using netcat via UDP and TCP I can see the traffic I expect. I can also use my Android mobile phone and…

So recently I got a 5 inch HDMI display with touch in the mail. They got drivers for the raspberry pi, and i got it working on the raspberry pi without a problem. Now I was wondering if would work on my banana pi running armbian legacy kernel. I have tried installing and following the original instructions, but i can't get the touch controller to work, it will display on the screen, but touch is not working. The resolution also seems a little bit off. Allthough i tried setting it to 800x480. I know there are other post around this topic, but most of them didn't made it any more clear to me what i could possibly do. And some that did still didn't work. So ye…

I'm trying to use PA18/PA19 for custom purposes. I need to put these pins to Input state without any pullups/pulldowns. What I can achieve is: to put these pins to input state via the command: gpio mode 30 in gpio mode 31 in ("tri" instead of "in" does not work, it accepts the command, but a multimeter shows the input is still high, as well as gpio readall) These pins are probably pulled high because they are I2C pins. Hello everybody. I'm trying to have the OLIMEX board and LCD above working, using legacy Jessie desktop. With the default configuration only portion of the screen works properly. So I have tried to: 1) sunxi-fexc from bin to fex the file /boot/script.bin 2) edit the extracted script.fex file like this: from [lcd0_para] lcd_used = 1 lcd_x = 600 lcd_y = 480 to [lcd0_para] lcd_used = 1 lcd_x = 1024 lcd_y = 600 which I understand is the resolution of my LCD screen. 3) sunxi-fexc back from fex to /boot/script.bin The result is that when I reboot I get a messed up screen. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hiya, Using a Banana Pi M1 as a factory production tester in China, running Armbian Mainline 4.6.3. Works fine here; never had the problem they're reporting, but they're saying: a) after a certain amount (unspecified) of time the boards crash and get stuck in a reboot loop displaying screen as shown in JPEG - "kernel panic not syncing - Attemped to kill init! exitcode=0x000000b" b ) rewriting the SD card image (from one I provided; a 4GB pre-configured image) fixes it (until it happens again) c) Only useful thing I can get from the photo attached is that the stack trace in the image (which is all I have to go on btw; trying to get a copy of the ba…

I just installed a fresh armbian 5.38 (mainline kernel) image to an SD Card for my A20-OLinuXino-MICRO board. After booting I used armbian-config to enable the spi-spidev. I then edited the armbianEnv.txt directly to add param_spidev_spi_bus=0. This gives me a single spidev0.0 under dev. Changing the parameter to param_spidev_spi_bus=2 (or 1) I can get the other busses. But only a single bus at a time. I spent I few hours googling, but I cannot seem to find any documentation on how to enable more than one userspace spi dev. Could someone explain to me how to enable all spi devices at once? Writing a custom overlays myself is a little beyond me at t…

Hi all, I have applied 12 V to the DC input of my Cubietruck (bad thing). So now I want to repair / recover everything possible... Both DC-in and battery input seem to be short-circuited, but I cannot find the exact position. Power via USB-OTG works (successful boot). The fuse directly after the input has almost zero resistance (which is good) and I have checked all visible power-related parts (doc here) with a microscope (nothing looks burned, as far as I can tell all diodes/resistors/... work as they should). When checking the resistance of DC-in to ground it gives me 1,5 kOhm with a multimeter (don't have a second one here, but I gues…

Hello Everyone, At first I'm sorry for my English I started working with Ubuntu server version -> Armbian_5.30_Orangepipc_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113. To finish whole process I wanted to enable wdog to start at boot, but it didnt activate after reset. After some digging in Internet and investigation i figured out that in watchdog.service file one line is missed which was in all other services. So after a…

I can't get my Orange Pi working... After writing image to a SD card, the system boots up and the green LED lights up. Everything looks ok, until "Starting kernel..." line. After that the screen goes all black or displays artifacts. I tried different HDMI cables but still same issues. I've been trying with 5.25, 5.30, 5.35, 5.38 Ubuntu versions. I found out that the only way to get the system up and running was installing version 5.30, because the system boots with 720p mode. Other builds use 1080p mode. However when I "apt upgrade" the kernel, system boots with 1080p and the issue shows up again. Is there a way to "force" Armbian to use 720p mode by default?

First, thank you Igor for the wonderful images! I have a cubieboard1 which I haven't played with for a long time. This week I found Armbian and decided to put it on my CB1. I have an HDMI-to-DVI cable, so I connected CB1 to a Dell monitor with 1280x1024 resolution. I tried several of your images for CB1 and they all stuck during boot with blank screen. After several tries, I decided to try on a real HDMI with 1920x1080 resolution. Of course it worked. Did some google search and found out I can change one parameter in the boot.cmd/boot.scr from disp.screen0_output_mode=1920x1080p60 to disp.screen0_output_mode=EDID:1920x1080p60 and it will try to auto select screen re…

I've set up a HE.net IPv6 tunnel on my CubieTruck, which announces itself in the network as a router for IPv6 network traffic. However, when I transfer data from other computers via the CubieTruck, bandwidth is very bad. rsyslogd causes a very high load on the CubieTruck and transfer rates are only up to several hundred KB/s. However, when I test downloading files from the CubieTruck itself, load doesn't increase and I can use my full line speed of 4 MB/s. As rsyslogd is the logging daemon, I looked into the syslog and found hundreds of page allocation failures like the one I attached to this post. What's wrong and how can I fix this? exception.txt

Hi, After installing latest version of Armbian 5.59 Stretch, I found that CPU temperature was shooting up too high, and I figured out that the GPIOL6 controlling the VDD_CPUX between 1.1V and 1.3V is not set properly as a result the Pullup resistor R455 is holding the FET gate always high and it is always running by default at 1.3V, even though scaling_max_freq was set 912MHz. After manually switching the GPIO to OUTPUT_LOW the temperatures aren't going that high anymore. Just thought the DEVs should know. Thanks

I am new to OPi+2E & Armbian combo. When booted up, all outgoing traffic is fine (though speed is very slow) but no incoming traffic gets successful, e.g. SSH and Ping. I tried DHCP and Static IPs. I believe there is no firewall running. I connected to WiFi through armbian-config and WiFi also connected but no incoming on either interface. If I disconnect LAN cable while WiFi is still connected, incoming traffic works on WiFi. As soon as I connect LAN cable again, incoming stops working on both interfaces. Same behaviour on Raspbian and Armbian. Is there some firmware I need to update? Help will be appreciated.

Happy New Years, I tried an LXDE ssh "MobaXterm" session with Chromium on my Orange Pi Zero 512mb. Surprised it worked however the laggy browser page scroll and javascript animations (appearing as a really slow vsync wave top to down), does that reflect real world performance when outputting to say hdmi? This Orange Pi has no immediate way to output to my tv so could not test otherwise. Is there any video hardware acceleration being used (mainline kernel Armbian) using this method? As maybe the lack thereof is the cause of lag, along with network overheads etc. Regards, Rollmeister

Hi everybody, I need your help in setting the default values of some or all GPIO Pin, so that it will be always activated after reboot instead of deactivated like the default is today. The reason for this is that I've connected a relaisboard to some GPIO Pins that will need "1" to be deactivated . Everything works fine, I can control and work with these Pins like needed by using "1" for OFF and "0" for ON. After booting up my BPI I initialize the needed GPIO Pins via export the pins. That will create virtual directories for these Pins with these defaults: direction -> in value -> 0 Like I mentioned, my relaiseboard need a logica…

Dear experts. I'm using Armbian_5.20_Orangepilite_Debian_jessie_3.4.112 image on a Orange Pi Lite. I used a serial console to operate. I can't see boot message after initial boot up from console, but it outputs to HDMI display tty1 instead. How can I change it back to serial or have both to display boot message?

I have noticed a very weird problem: connection works for some time (several hours or sometimes days) and then stops. Once it stopped working (connection between my mobile app and OrangePi) I have checked on the board: - ping 8.8.8.8 - OK - ping (router IP) - OK - ping (broadcast ) - FAILED - ping (PC or any other device connected to the network) - FAILED In all cases, Wireshark captures the ping requests. Once I tried to ping OrangePi board from my PC, I see in&out ping packet on OPI board by Wireshark. It seems like some lower layer or router (the same on two different) blocks the outgoing connection. Ideas? (WiFi power management off, no fir…

Hello again. I am beating my head against the network configuration again and would dearly love some help. I have two orange pi pc boards with static ip's in the 192.168.1. range. Hello! I have a Zero2 board with 1GB of RAM. I compiled a Debian 12 desktop image for Zero2 using Armbian and I want to play online videos through a web browser. Unfortunately, the results have been disappointing as the performance for 1080p videos is very slow. I tried using swap, but it didn't help. I also attempted to play 1080p videos using MPV and VLC. MPV can still play the videos, but it feels sluggish, and VLC gets stuck on the screen until the playback is finished. I would like to know how to configure Zero2 on Linux to achieve video acceleration. I'm new to this, so I would appreciate some guidance. Thank you!

Recently I tried to connect CAN bus adapter to my Orange Pi 3 LTS board and it happened that there is not so much information about it, it is outdated or related to other boards. So, after I spent a few days in trials and errors below is my recipe. 1. Connect a CAN interface board. Orange Pi pins are not 5V tolerant, so I decided to use a dedicated 2-channel board from Waveshare: https://www.waveshare.com/2-ch-can-hat.htm (only one channel for the start). You can modify a cheap board from AliExpress though; there are instructions in the Internet. I used the PL10 pin of Orange Pi 3 LTS board as INT pin. Actually first I tried to use the PD21 pin but it seems that…

It seems I should choose pin on PL or PM ports. But according the schmatic, lots of them have been used as other usages: PIN DEFINE CFG PL0 PMU-SCK 3 PL1 PMU-SDA 3 PL2 RECOVERY …

Hello, I've been using an OrangePi PC with legacy distribution for a long time as a mini-server, it worked Ok except for some seemingly random freeze. I'm using it with an unsupported monitor size (1600x1200), so I had a modded version, and I never updated the system files to avoid having to recompile. I'd like to update Armbian to the mainline kernel version, but I want to keep all my settings/additions/installed programs, so I'd prefer to NOT do a complete re-install. Is there a way to do an upgrade without losing everything?? If not, how can I keep track of all the modifications currently installed so I can re-install them? TIA

Hello guys and gals Can anyone help me what information to add in boot.cmd file to make it bootable from SSD on SATA port? I'm using the latest Buster Server image with 4.19 kernel. By the way is it a good idea to enable TRIM for the SSD? Hi! I have banana pro, 5.15.93-sunxi #23.02.2 (bullseye), and use internal wifi adapter as a wifi client. The medium btw my client and ap is instable, there are frequent rate changes (6Mbps...54Mbps), so in order to get rid of it I need to set mandatory wifi rate no more than 6 Mbps. Give me the hint, please: 1. To set wifi rate strictly to 6 Mbps. I had tried iwconfig wlan0 rate 6M - I got "Error for wireless request "Set Bit Rate" (8B20) : SET failed on device wlan0 ; Operation not supported." . 2. To adjust 802.11n parameters (rate, number of spatial streams and so on). Thank you in advance, Aleksei

The Luma library allows you to display text, graphics, animation, etc. on multiple display types. Here I will describe the easiest one to configure which is Luma.OLED and the I2C version of the SSD1306. You can find these displays on EBay and Amazon for less than $10 US each (you can get them for less than $3 US if you order from China, but it might not show up). I've configured Luma on many SBCs and it's my go to library if I need a small display for projects. Requirements NanoPi Duo (I used V1.0 board with 512 MB RAM) flashed with Armbian image. This will work with or without the mini shield. Small nylon nuts, bolts and standoffs if y…

Hello. this is my first post. I was looking through the forum but I did not find a similar problem. About power supply - until now I did not have any problems, I use a computer power supply. When I connected the device, it did not turn on. I tried to turn it on manually, but nothing happened except the short flash on the connected mouse. A while ago, I uploaded an older desktop version to NAND. I used the sd card to start up. Is it possible that this older version loaded on NAND c…
