  1. Started by PaceyIV,

I've got a new problem with my Olimex A20 Lime2 board. The board doesn't freeze anymore (http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/295-freezing-problem-with-olimex-a20-lime-2/) but after a week I've got a very slow speed using samba: about 300 kbps. I've tried to restart the smbd service but it doesn't work. The smbd process don't use cpu: < 5 %. If I restart completely the board, samba start to works again very fast and use the cpu: > 50%. How can I discover where is the problem and how to fix it? I'm using Debian jessie 4.2.6-sunxi, and there are no more updates.

I'm using 14.04, and vanilla kernel on A20, followed the documentation for distro upgrade, but it's in endless loop: Calculating the changes Error authenticating some packages It was not possible to authenticate some packages. This may be a transient network problem. You may want to try again later. See below for a list of unauthenticated packages. module-init-tools Restoring original system state After this appears, the whole dist upgrade process restarts, and ends with the same error.

  5. Hey guys, Firstly thank you very much for that amazing project and giving life to our opis. I really like armbian jessie desktop but I prefer ubuntu based distros. I find an xenial image from the armbian site and install-upgraded. Then I installed lubuntu-desktop. Looks very good seems very fast and smooth but I can't listen musics with audacious. Sound comes distorted and laggy. What can I do to get armbian desktop quality playing video and mp3 files.

  11. I've got a NanoPi Neo Core 2 and a NanoPi Neo Air. It bothered me that the USB OTG did not function in host mode. Turns out, the included Armbian .dtb's don't have the parts necessary to define the regulator which pushes power back to a client device when the board needs to run in OTG host mode. You can see the regulator on page 8 of the schematic http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/images/6/6b/NanoPi_NEO_Core2-V1.0_1707.pdf I found an upstream patch at https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/9921097/ which defined the missing parts for a Neo Plus 2. 14. I am really confused about how to connect an LVDS monitor to the board. We used 3.x legacy kernel and used a .fex file for this in the past. But it is time to move to mainline, and it is confusing me. Since LVDS is not plug and play, we need to tell the parameters of the screen somehow. That is clear. I found several ways of pushing parameters to the system: 1. Compile into kernel 2. Compile into U-boot 3. Device Tree 4. Device Tree Overlay 5. Kernel command line According to these articles i have to compile them into U-boot: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/1905-enabling-lcd-in-u-boot-kernel-472/ ht…

  21. hi, having power problems with the two usb ports of my pcduino3 nano, i checked the schematics and it appears the otg port is not powered by the USB_5V rail but directly from the VCC_5V input rail, so i was hoping it would solve my problem. Unfortunately it seems the port acts as an OTG port by default and i can't find a way to restore the otg host mode as advertised in the vanilla kernel features. The documentation only details how to use various OTG modes but not how to revert it back to host. I'm using xenial vanilla image. thank you.

  44. Hi, I'd like to use kvm on the Orange Pi PC2, but the Armbian 4.14.12-sunxi64 kernel doesn't seem to enable it (or possibly the boot loader doesn't put the CPU in the right mode?). If I google: allwinner h5 kvm then the first hit shows a kernel boot log which shows kvm enabled on an Orange Pi PC2, so it looks like it's possible. I'm happy to recompile the kernel myself, but wanted to know if there were any gotchas that might mean this is disabled by default on purpose? Cheers, Tim.

  54. Hello everyone, I'm trying to set up a system as musicjukebox supporting -MPD -USB Audio -WlanAP -7"Display With the Raspbian Image of banana-pi(dot)org with Kernel 3.3 lcd works but usb-sound not. With kernel 4.2 it is the other way around. The support is very bad in my opinion, so I'm looking somewhere else. Is armbian able to satisfy my needs? Or do I have to do much compiling/programming, which would be all new to me as a linux beginner... Regards Andre

  56. I started using armbian just a few days ago, I used the cb2 image. When I updated from 5.10 to 5.11 when I play a video, the video surface is darker, for example, instead of white I get grey. Just to be sure I put armbian 5.10 in another SD and videos played well, them update to armbian 5.11 and had the same problem with video playback. Does someone have any idea what is the problem? Until the problem is solved, how can I downgrade my armbian 5.11 to 5.10? Thanks. Hi Forum, Please let me take a "low level" question about what I experienced on my CT. It should be my misunderstanding but it would be good if someone could help to clarify. On my CT udev mounts a USB device then starts a bash script in the background. This script lunches some bash threads and waits for them to complete. The threads has no common job on any file or resource. In the third level of nesting cp -r chrashes without any error message. It leaves the logging sentence in the middle, so it's really chrashes. rsync does the same but for different files. The scripts are fully functional if I start them from a root console. Even if started in the background.…

  58. Hi, I seem to have "fried" the default Debug TTL UART (the 3 pins next to the hdmi connector). (connecting the ground of the usb-ttl to TX of the UART and leaving it there for a few minutes is not a good idea it seems :-)). The orangepipc+ still works when booting from emmc (armbian 5.17 debian jessie, kernel 4.7.3) but does not seem to want to boot from microsd (tried console only 5.17/4.7.3, 5.21/4.8.1). So I would like to debug that but whatever usb-ttl I connect I don't see anything (tried 3 different usb-ttl to make sure it was not the usb-ttl device)> My question: is it possible to see uboot messages (or at least the kernel boot) via a different port…

  64. Good day friends, For some time now I've been trying a DAC (dac-pcm5102mk-i2s) with the Orangepi Pc Plus OS "Debian Stretch with Armbian Linux 4.19.62-sunxi" to put into operation. Unfortunately without success so far. 78. Hello. I have an Orange Pi Zero board with Armbian on it. I want to use its serial pins for flashing arduinos. Right now I only have 1x3 serial pins and 1x13 media (?) pins soldered, the 2x13 GPIO doesn't have any pins and I don't have any spare ones to solder (alright, I might have some, but I'm too lazy for that). That means I only have access to UART0 pins which are currently reserved for Linux console. However, Armbian seems to generate kernel options entirely from armbianEnv.txt, making it impossible to manually remove ser…

Hi guys, I have the bad idea to build up little by little some house automation with an opi1 that I don't use. Just for fun. So I'd like to start with armbian and build everything from there, with no precompiled images. The first thing I want to try is Google assistant. Can I use the assistant sdk that I can find on official website? Or there is something better for opi? Can I eventually integrate it with something like Hass.io or similar? I'm open for any advice. Thank you in advance

Hi I have strange problem with my nano pi neo core 2. The device was working a few days then suddenly I lost my ssh connection. I used serial port to communication to see what happened and I get reply below. The last line it is a Error so I should reset my device. I did it several times and the result is the same. I'm not specialist but I supposed it is something wrong with eMMC memory because if I insert SD card with armbian it starts normally. Anyone have idea what was that, what happened. My nano pi shows week light of red LED. U-Boot SPL 2018.11-armbian (Feb 08 2019 - 11:05:25 +0100) DRAM: 1024 MiB …
