  6. I have a Cubox that has been running Debian Wheezy for a while and I want to do a clean install of Jessie on it. I downloaded Armbian_5.00_Cubox-i_Debian_jessie_4.4.1 and wrote it to SD card, but it won't boot. The error is: Unknown command 'bootz' I rather suspect that my Cubox is not a Cubox-i - possibly an earlier version that does not support compressed kernels. Is there some way I can work around this? Maybe re-flash the bootloader, or uncompress the kernel on another system perhaps? Thanks Andrew

  7. Hi, i've asked this question also in the solid-run forum, but i think it's important to ask here also to Igor. Must be an explanation to from where the nvram file came out first. There are different brcmfmac4330-sdio.txt sources, with very different files for same wifi adapter and device (Cubox-i) I'm wondering what is the difference from the nvram .txt file for broadcom wifi firmware (brcmfmac4330-sdio.txt) between (A)solid-run:meta-solidrun-arm-imx6 (much longer with lots of additional parameters)https://github.com/SolidRun/meta-solidrun-arm-imx6/blob/fido/recipes-bsp/broadcom-nvram-config/files/solidrun-imx6/brcmfmac4330-sdio.txt (B)the one that ships …

I need to have the I2S1 peripheal as SLAVE and a MCLK of 48kHz and 192kHz (better if other clock speed are supported). The "aplay -l" and "arecord -l" commands must show the I2S1 as a sound card with input ad output device. I've tried to do the job but I'm a newbbie on linux and embedded linux. Following the official FriendlyArm wiki, on a host PC I've downloaded the kernel source, modified the dtsi file to enable i2s, recompiled the kernel and U-boot and all steps seem work fine. Unfortunately Armbianmonitor shows high CPU -temperature. It gradualy builds up, starting from 50 degrees next to 70 degrees, eventualy approaching 85 degrees and then it shuts down. I use the passive heatsink that came with the board and no case. I use it for light desktop things like browsing the internet. Is there something I can do to prevent this, is there something in the kernel like throttling when the board reaches a certain temperature? @Igor how come there isn't any mainline kernels available for these boards lack of time or lack of interest ? currently using xilka kernel but would love to have it in apt less messy would be awesome to include/combine those builds and get more support for imx6 since graphics is up to 3.14.60 and mainline is at 4.4.0 (minimal support for graphics kinda like your mainline packages).

  44. Started by fanste,

Hey, which kernel did you use for the provided Hummingboard image (wheezy)? Is it a self-patched linux-linaro or the latest from solidrun (linux-fslc)? My test tells me, that it is the one from solidrun as I'm not able to use PCI on my HB pro. I've recognized it using the current devel of OpenELEC which also uses kernel 3.14.60 from solidrun. An older version of OpenELEC (e.g. 6.0.3) or Armbian (eg. 4.4 using 3.14.53) works quite good. The PCI driver and the dts changed quite a lot between those kernel repositories. Do you have any suggestions how to fix that? My tries all ended in a boot hang (black screen).

Good news. Thanks to the work of many, there is now a real opportunity to run the Armbian system with the main core on Jetson Nano, and more importantly, it is easy to integrate the image build process into the official GIT Armbian. In the near future, I plan to post ready-made images with the latest kernel 5.10.22 on the download site. To run them, you need to update u-boot to Jetson Nano. This is very easy to do, just run the latest official version of Ubuntu for Jetson Nano from the SD card, it will update itself in SPI (?) u-boot to the latest version (2020.04), after that you can run Armbian from any SD card or USB media. The new u-boot supports automatic syst…

I am developing on an imx6 board that is no longer in production. It has a full Yacto-based build system that works, based on an old 3.17?) kernel, but its a pain to develop for. It's not worth spending too much time on refactoring the image, but I'm wondering how big of a job it might be to build an Armbian image for it, given that I already have a working uboot and kernel. The hardware just uses a couple of usbs and uarts, and a pcie wifi card. One wersion also has an hdmi encoder, another has hdmi display. Those might be the hardest to support, but driver support is in the kernel. Thoughts? Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

Hello everyone! I'm trying to install nvidia graphic card driver to the Jetson Nano after I successfully started bookwork on it. I have nouveau running and I don't understand how/if it is possible to switch to nvidia one. Can you guys please help me to understand whether it is possible at all? Am I missing something? Probably was Googling wrong keywords. For now I understand that Nvidia SDK supported by nvidia requires too old version of their ubuntu-based l4t linux which I don't like at all.. Thanks in advance!

  89. Dear Armbian community I want to run klipper on my ordoid n2+ I started out using a default ubuntu os from odroid themselves but it was missing a ton of drivers I need. everything worked on that image except for the drivers. Someone mentioned Armbian to me. I got everything running except I now have a new issue. I am using klipperscreen a simple gui with touch controls. before installing I could use my screen without issues and I installed everything on the screens terminal. Now that klipperscreen is installed I see the boot sequence and than the signal gets lost. I already checked the klipperscreen guides and forums and if it doesnt report errors its the…

I'm trying to upgrade from Armbian 5.32 (Xenial Next/4.4.76) and was hoping to enable 1 wire again on my Udoo. For that build, I had to add one wire modules to the kernel config, then edit the imx6qdl-udoo.dtsi to set the onewire status to okay (from disabled). In the dtsi, after udoo_ard: udoo_ard_manager it had: onewire@0 { /* example for pin 08 */ compatible = "w1-gpio"; pinctrl-names = "default"; pinctrl-0 = <&w1_gpio_pins>; status = "disabled"; /* "okay" to enable */ gpios = <&gpio1 21 0>; }; and in iomuxc, there was a section (in external_hog: hoggrp-2, MX6QDL_PAD_SD1_DAT3__GPIO1_IO21 0x800…

Hello, I have an orange Pi i96, and I can't find a USB device. In /dev, I have a serial folder, then by-id in which I have : usb-1a86_USB_Serial-if00-port0 But it doesn't disappear when I remove the USB device ... And the USB output doesn't change whether the device is plugged in or not. Dmedg gives nothing related to usb and lsusb gives this: Bus 001 Device 002: ID 1a86:7523 QinHeng Electronics CH340 serial converter Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub And it doesn't change depending on whether the USB port is busy or not. Am I missing something? Have a nice day I know it's the wrong ta…

The alpha version of Armbian images for Orion O6 is available. To launch, burn to a USB flash drive, connect to Orion O6 and turn on the power (installation on NVMe has not yet been verified). The system starts automatically. Important. Image output to the monitor works only in graphical mode (in images with DE). Console output currently only works in UART, so you need a UART console or SSH connection for initial startup. Launching the desktop and displaying the image on the screen can take 30-80 seconds, depending on the speed of the media. https://disk.yandex.ru/d/gedMM0eLiURrjA Armbian-unofficial 25.05.0-trunk Noble ttyAMA2 orion-o6 …

Hello, I had three power outages in quick succession, I think the second or third one caught the cubox while rebooting. It won't start anymore. I attached pictures of what I see when plugging it into a TV for catching it's messages. How can I unbrick my system without losing all my work on the SD card? I saw how-to-unbrick-the-system, but I'm not sure where to download which files, since I'm not sure if I have NEXT, mainline or legacy installed. Does that even matter at this point?

Hi, I installed Armbian on a Cubox 4x4, I realize this was designed for a different board, but in general it works. But I found there was a problem with the system clock, it kept booting up with the time: Thu 01 Jan 2015 10:07:23 AM CET After some investigations, I found that this board has two hardware clocks: /dev/rtc0: Thu 01 Jan 2015 10:05:17 AM CET -0.616496 seconds /dev/rtc1: Fri 13 Nov 2015 08:23:47 AM CET -0.603090 seconds It looks like rtc1 has a battery and survives reboot, but /dev/rtc0 does not. I tried setting the clock using "ntpdate" on boot, but I found that something kept resetting the time. I found it is /etc/rcS.d/S06hwclock.sh …

Due to a non-standard wifi chip, I always run KMS before rebooting, giving the new kernel version as an argument. (The automatic install on reboot didn't work so well in the past) It seems now that something is not right with the new kernel headers. I have not rebooted yet, out of fear the system might be unstable then.
