  1. I have an orangepi pc and am trying to use a 3.5 inch TFT-LCD using fbtft. I was told to use armbian 20.05.4_Orangepipc_focal_current_5.4.45 in this case. I am trying to find version 5.4.45. But it hasn't worked out yet. The oldest in the archive is version 5.10. May I know how to find the 5.4.45 version? Please tell us

@TonyMac32 I have bought a Firefly-RK3399 from firefly ( http://shop.t-firefly.com/goods.php?id=45 ). I did not realize it at the time of purchase, but the Mosfets are unable to provide sufficient power for the board plus the USB ports, EDP connector, MIPI-CSI interface, M.2 slot, etc. I really love the IO of the board and want to try to find a way to get it to work (plus I don't have the money to go trying out more boards ). Would your idea help such a board? Thanks!

Hi, In order to secure my BPi-R1 I want to install a firewall on top of armbian. So please, no tipps for complete 'firewall distribution like IPcop, IPfire'. 8. Have been struggling to install Armbian on Firefly rk3399 - did try many images from armbian.com/firefly-rk3399 with no luck at all. Then I did stumble on a Arbmian image on a USB stick from 5 of January this year Armbian_19.11.7_Firefly-rk3399_bionic_legacy_4.4.208_desktop.img which did work to my surprise. Thought it had something to do with u-boot and partitions. I did always stop on starting kernel ... with some prior errors. Will try to install newer images for the sake of curiosity :-) Btw. have donated to the Armbian project twice - not so much, but some amount - as people should do. This is the serial out…

Hello, I've bought a USB Bluetooth adaptor on Amazon and wanted to try it on my Armbian device, an Orange Pi Zero. The installed system is Armbian Focal (Ubuntu). That adaptor seems to have the Realtek rtl8761a chip, according to the error message in syslog. The firmware could not be found. It should be included in the "firmware-realtek" package but that doesn't exist. I couldn't find anything else that provides that firmware. That USB adaptor has an average rating, a second one I've also ordered has a better rating. Both have the same chip inside. Both don't work on a current Windows 10 because the unsigned driver from Realtek (to be downloaded fr…

I got the message kex_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset by peer Connection reset by 192.168.0.89 port 22 The reason was, that in /etc/sshd_config PubkeyAuthentication was enabled. After commenting out I was able to login via ssh. I think this should be corrected as it makes no sense. Or at least the documentation should be changed (it says you can do your first login via ssh). 53. So I'm trying to debug a 32 bit C compiler circa 1983 that only compiles in 32 bit. I have the compiler working in Linux Ubuntu 18.04 and later with multiverse (32 bit) support installed. I thought to myself PI OS would have to be one the most popular used and supported 32 bit OS, so let's compile and debug the the 32 application in a complete 32 environment. However on the PI OS 32 bit while I have managed to compile to compiler with no issues it doesn't execute and gets seg faults. No problem I can debug it! Except I can't because if I use the debugger via Geany or directly it complains it can't find variables higher up …

Suppose: I have a classic wireless/modem/router at 192.168.1.1, windows / android devices already connected, fixed IP or DHCP. I want to build another subnet of IoT devices, say 192.168.200.x... At the center I have a Windows 7/8/10 PC with a single NIC, with two IP addresses, say 192.168.1.100 and 192.168.200.1 - this can reach all two subnets... I'm using the Openmediavault+ARMbian image provided by Tkaiser. When I go to armbian-config --> System there is no 'Install - installs to SATA, eMMC, NAND or USB' option (according ARMBian documentation it should be there ). Just checked at a Odroid HC1 and a Banana pi 1, both running the "same" Openmediavault+ARMbian ROM. They also don't have the option van 'Install' option available. @Igor, @tkaiser is this option moved to a different location? Or just not present for the Openmedivault+ARMbian combo?

  60. I'm trying to get the armbian x86-64 generic image to run in virtualbox. I can successfully convert the *.img file to qcow2 and qemu will run it just fine. However, virtualbox fails to boot it in any format (qcow2, vmdk, vhd, vdi, etc). The grub menu comes up, but when trying to boot Linux then it just sits at a blinking cursor. I've tried converting this a variety of ways, such as using `qemu-img convert`, `vboxmanage convertfromraw` and `vboxmanage convertdd`. None of them yield an image that virtualbox will boot. Has anybody else had success with this, and/or know how to fix it? Thanks.

So using the old sysfs (/sys/class/gpio/) interface, you "export" a gpio by spitting the gpio number into /sys/class/gpio/export. The GPIO number depends on the board and relevant documentation. Having once found that I need GPIO number 76, I'm migrating code to the new "gpio character device" interface (/dev/gpiochipn) on my Rock64. However, "gpioinfo" shows that hardly any gpios have useful labels, and Google searches always turn up Raspberry Pi results. So, can I just calculate the new gpio identify? Old gpio is 76, all /dev/gpiochips have 32 lines, 76/32 = 2 rem 12, so old gpio 76 is now /dev/gpiochip2 line 12? Edit: I tried this…
