Hi, All! I have modified w1-therm kernel module. Now device directory contains two more files w1_read and w1_convert_all. You can read sensor memory without triggering temperature conversion using the first one and you can trigger the temperature conversion on all sensors (implemented using "skip ROM") with the second one. I needed this modification to speed up sensor reading. Now I start temperature measurement on all sensors (it takes 750ms on 18B20) and then read the results. Earlier reading sensor (using w1_slave) required 750+ms for each sensor. Here is the result for my 10sensors 1wire network (using the usual w1_slave required 8.5sec, with new feature…

  7. Hello, I have the following problem: A custom board (H5) doesn't reboot using the reboot command. Same problem from u-boot using reset command. If you check the log, all is normal for the halt or power off proccess. The problem happens when the board is going to make the power on, it hangs, and you can't see anything using the debug serial. As a solution, i can reset the voltage regulators using a digital GPIO pin. Of this way i am able to reset the board. But i need a soft solution, and of course, if linux itself makes a reboot it should activate the digital GPIO pin in this custom board. So my question is: …

Hi All, Does anybody have a solution to the issue with playing video in Armbian that the MPV on-screen controls (i.e. Pause, Stop and the Timeline) isn't visible in the bottom middle of the video frame? Is there any way to get this back? Does it require a re-compile of mpv, or is this behaviour a result of the All winner undocumented blob based hardware acceleration, dumping pixels straight onto the frame buffer, with little one can do about it. Has anybody compiled mpv from scratch and not had this issue? I notice that when playing video, the video paints over the top of everything - including the mouse pointer. Hi everyone, I'm very new to Armbian Linux. I'm about to acquire Orange Pi Zero 2W for my audio project. I have read some of the forum posts related to the SOC's native I2S, and I'd like to know if those problems mentioned in the posts have been resolved in the new kernel? Meaning that users don't have to write and compile their own device tree overlay and kernel mode driver? My project require a full duplex I2S with the CODEC as the master. Nothing fancy, just 2 channels in and 2 channels out. Hope someone can help clear the doubts so that I know for sure I will not be buying what I can not use. Thanks

  33. Hi guys! I understood yesterday that the Raspberry Pi 3 is limited to only 2-channel 16-bit PCM audio over HDMI by its ALSA driver. Therefore I'm now looking for another board capable of at least outputting 6x 24-bit LPCM 48 kHz channels. My goal is to build a software DSP, processing multi-channel audio recorded from an USB audio interface. The idea is to capture a home-cinema receiver pre-outs, mix and apply biquads for crossover with the sub and speaker tuning, then handle the clock difference between input and output. A couple threads mention difficulties with 24-bit audio, on legacy kernel and over I2S, where the user Christos observed issues. Do…

Of the boards supported by Armbian, which do you prefer for multiple audio devices and audio related applications? I need to control two audio streams, in and out each and add information to the streams as appropriate. I would like to use as little external hardware as possible so stereo mic or dual mic input and stereo out would be awesome. I'm a little overwhelmed by the choices, so opinions are definitely welcome here.

  52. Hi, I built and successfully installed Armbian with Cryptroot SSH unlock. Now I wanted to have everything on SATA SSD, but when I run nand-sata-install I get the following message: This tool must run from SD-card! How could I have everything on my SATA SSD?

Hi, I am not sure but it maybe a bug in the script. After starting device from SD card (it is visible as /dev/mmcblk0 device) I have /etc/fstab as following: root@orangepiplus:/etc# cat fstab /dev/mmcblk0p1 / ext4 defaults,noatime,nodiratime,commit=600,errors=remount-ro 0 1 tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults, nosuid 0 0 /var/swap none swap sw 0 0 Then I run nand-sata-install script. It is working correctly, but later on it is modifying copied fstab file and content is as following (pls pay attention on /dev/mmcblk1p1): root@orangepiplus:/mnt/rootfs/etc# cat fstab /dev/mmcblk1p1 / ext4 defaults,noatime,nodiratime,commit=600,errors=remount-ro 0 1 tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults, nosuid…

  55. i used nand-sata-install to move root from sd to ssd. at the end just after "Finalizing file sync ... Please wait" i got "Error while creating U-Boot loader image with mkimage" at the bottom of the screen. i rebooted and all seems to be working as planned. is this error anything to worry about?

  56. Hello, I installed armbian on my board and decided to attach HDD to move rootfs on it. So I used script which you provide nand-sata-install. It worked as expected but not sure why it kept /boot still on SDcard? I do understand that uboot needs to be still on SDcard present, but uboot should be able to find /boot directory also on HDD partition, right? Or is there some compatibility issue, why this approach was decided? My concerns are if sdcard dies, i need to recreate not only uboot but also /boot. JV

  66. Hi, I have a neo3 that has been running without any issues for about a year. Today after I had to restart it and the device wouldn't boot anymore. I checked the systemd logs by mounting the sd card in my laptop and I can see that it didn't get to boot at all (as there are no systemd logs after the shutdown). I checked the card for filesystem issues, and it seems to be OK. But I have no idea how to fix this. I really don't want to flash again an image and start from zero as I have a good amount of software installed that would take a lot of time to setup again. Hi Armbian Community, I am trying to get the Coral/Google NPU (M.2 PCIe key) to work with the NanoPC-T4. Without success. I built Armbian with linux headers (5.4.48) and was able to apt install the gasket-dkms package. (The EdgeTPU requires Google's Gasket and Apex drivers to be built as modules with DKMS, and thus requires the linux headers to be installed at /usr/src). Also, there was no conflicting Gasket or Apex module in the Armbian release prior to install (an issue found by other EdgeTPU systems on other distros). My problem, I believe, has to do with the NanoPC-T4's PCIe. I have tried many different kernels (FriendlyElec's Core/Des…

Hi all, I am trying to use a MCP3426 I2C ADC chip with my NanoPi Duo2. I have compiled a custom kernel with the mcp3426 driver in it, but I can't get it to load. The problem seems to be that the chip uses address 0x68 which is the same address that the commonly used DS1307 RTC chip uses. I have blacklisted the ds1307 module which has stopped that module from loading, but somehow '/sys/bus/i2c/devices/0-0068/name' still claims to be a ds1307. 'echo mcp3426 0x68 > /sys/class/i2c-dev/i2c-0/device/new_device' results in a "Invalid argument error" with 'i2c i2c-0: Failed to register i2c client mcp3426 at 0x68 (-16)' being logged in dmesg, and apparently the -16…

  98. Hello, I have a nanopi neo and armbian hirsute running. But the problem is I cannot establish a wifi connection with armbian-config / nmcli / nmtui. Errormessage: Error: Connection activation failed: (53) The Wi-Fi network could not be found. So I stepped back to bionic and heres the wifi working. What I'am doing wrong? Is there a solution?
