Hello. I've installed the newest Armbian Bionic Ubuntu with the Desktop on my Cubietruck. In the past i had Debian Wheezy running on it with working remote desktop connection over Windows 10 (sesman-xvnc). Now with the new Ubuntu i cant connect anymore to my Cubietruck. If i open the Remote Desktop Tool on Windows 10 i get a connection to my Cubietruck and i can see the login Screen. But there is no more an option (sesman-xvnc). I can only see (xvnc). If i connect through this option i can login to my cubietruck. If login is successful i see only an empty desktop without elements and without a background-image. How can i solve this issue? I have installed…

Hi guys. Igor if you are reading this, I'm Paul H. on the facebook Opi board. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that I think something is breaking with the recent builds. I did a standard download install on an opi plus (eos) and got nodm errors when I went to install the desktop. Then on second run it sent me into a menu to select lightdm or nodm, and I've never seen that menu before. That installed some stuff when I selected nodm, but then failed. Subsequent apt-get installs gave me nodm errors. The desktop is not booting at all. So then I decided to move to a cubietruck and did the same thing, except it boots into the desktop and…

Good morning everyone. I'm unable to connect to a nanopi M1 through ssh, I'm using windows power shell and the network is made with a TP-Link router MR3220, I've looked several guides around there but always is saying "connection reset". I've also checked the IP address wich is allways the same because I used the address reservation feature of the router (of course, there is a fixed MAC address on eth0), when I apply the command ssh -p 22 root@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on the uxterm of armbian it shows the shown in the attached image "resulado de usar ssh" and like I said, the answer of power shell is connection reset on port 22 for that server. the ssh_co…

Hey folks, I'm looking to build a little portable server to hold a local mirror of my cloud drive and run a light-duty testing server for medium-weight web apps (Django, big PHP blobs, etc). 2GB RAM, SATA support, and fanless are critical, USB 3.0 and GPIO ready to go with no soldering a big plus. I'm planning to get a 500GB SSD and use an Alfa AWUS036ACH 802.11ac USB dongle. Box will run headless except for configuration. I was looking at the EspressoBin but kernel support appears to still be incomplete and there isn't that big of a userbase. I also don't need two of the Ethernet ports on that board. I've looked around and it seems the combo of >1GB RAM + …

Ever since I updated the BPi recently, the ramlogger stopped working. I'm regularly getting mail from the Cron Daemon saying this: /usr/lib/armbian/armbian-truncate-logs: 19: /usr/lib/armbian/armbian-truncate-logs: logrotate: not found … so, it looks like the paths are messed up since the program is definitely installed in `/usr/sbin/`.

Hello, I am using nanoPi Neo Core with mini shield nanoPi NEO CORE/CORE2. The OS that i am using is Armbian stretch downloaded from this link : https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-neo/ What I am trying to do is boot the OS from the SD card and have the filesystem on a SSD disk. In order to do that, I created a primary partiton on the disk using parted. Then I formatted the partition to ext4. I tried to execute nand-sata-install script using armbian-config. When I choose to boot from SD card system on SATA, the partiton of the disk that I created is found. When I select the partition, I got an error that the partition is too small…

I use "Armbian_5.59_Tinkerboard_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.67". After every reboot the line for the nameserver in resolv.conf looks like this: ^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@nameserver 192.168.3.1 When I delete all ^@ chars my networks works fine. After reboot the characters are inserted again. I tried "chmod 444 resolv.conf" but after reboot resolv.conf has 644 again. How can I correct this? What is the problem with my installation? Best regards.

Hi Guys, I am working with Orange and Banana Pi development boards all with a minimum og 8GB eMMC chips. I am looking for a process to clone a working system to an SD card and using it as a checkpoint for my configuration changes so should I mess things up I can revert to the previous checkpoint. I have used 'dd' in the past but it is considerably bigger than the standard install images and it slows down the recovery process quite a lot. Is there a better way for me to clone the working system to an SD card. Thank you in advance, Rick

Ok so the title can confuse more than it really is! So basically I have a armbian distro configured as NAT where wlan0 is the internal interface and eth0 is the "pubic" interface that provides internet (this set is provided out of the box by armbian-config). My devices connect over wlan0 grabbing an IP, say 172.24.1.114 I have added a VPN to a remote network resulting in the creation of ppp0, with IP 10.10.10.12 Having these info, what I want to achieve is: * Only one IP (e.g. 172.24.1.114) has to always go towards ppp0 (that is all traffic back and forth should go to ppp0, so I can either reach machines and navigate on internet with the remote IP…

busybox or busybox-static package is needed for update initramfs must run after kernel updates. The busybox-static package is missing on the Tinkerboard and Odroid C2 image (may be others). I filed a bug report here: [busybox or busybox-static is needed for update initramfs · Issue #1124 · armbian/build · GitHub](https://github.com/armbian/build/issues/1124#issuecomment-427852788) Apparently it was not the right place. It got closed immedeatly: > The issue is closed for two reasons: it contains no valuable info and it's in the wrong place. I still consider this to be an important bug, so I leave a trace here.

I have been going over forum after forum trying to figure out how do this, and nothing seems to match up. I just downloaded MySQL on my new Rock64. The OS is installed on a 32GB eMMC, and I have a 1.5GB USB 3 HDD installed for my home folder and all the user data. I bought this to be set up as a LAMP server, and have installed Apache and PHP, which are working well. I haven't had any luck with MySQL though. It seems that nothing matches the documentation. All the documentation and forums say that the configuration file is located at /etc/mysql/my.cnf In that configuration file, there's supposed to be DB location settings,…

Hi all, I've been reading a lot about VPU acceleration for h264 decoding and encoding. However, it seems that there is not much regarding transcoding (decoding + encoding). I would be interested in decoding 1080p h264 and encoding it back to 720p h264 in realtime. Ideally having that operation on 2 streams in parallel would be great. I've seen that quite some work has been done in cedrus As I can, h264 decoding seems to be supported but encoding is unclear. And there is obviously no comment about running both operations at the same time. Since I would like to run a few tests and maybe help a bit, what hardware should I order…

Hello On the bananapi forum I noticed Igor's post (2018/08/22) that is for download image for bananapi m2 ultra. Support is not provided. I have a question about the sound device. This one directly from the SOC R40 is not supported and no one is working on it as. I spied this in the matrix for allwinner. But I use an external sound card on usb https://www.hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G141629380416. It works with every kernel and single board. And here in the case of the 4.18 kernel and bananapi m2 ultra, there are problems with getting connected to the pulseaudio server; which does not work at all. Is there a chance that this will be corrected.…

Hello, please, is it possible (if yes, how or what are available parameters) to run nand-sata-install from command line "one liner" - I mean without going to programm GUI? I would like to just run one command with predefined command line parameters and it should automatically copy microsd to emmc storage. Many thanks

Hey guys, Coming from high level programming such as Java or C#, I'm quite new to mid-level development. I'm working on a project and I was wondering there are any low cost Linux compatible SoC that are guaranteed to have a long term availability for like 5-7 years or more? I've seen the H3, but since it is manufactured by a chinese company, I'm not sure about the availability of this chip on long term. Thanks

I am currently working on a Development Board based on RK3288. We are using Rockchip kernel as mentioned here https://github.com/rockchip-linux/kernel This uses libdrm (DRI) for its rendering purposes. But it has limitations. Only one CRTC is connected out of 2. It provides 8 planes, out of which only 4 are available for the working CRTC, out of which user available OVERLAY planes are only 2, and out of which only 1 Plane supports NV12 rendering. I need to show 2-4 videos simultaneously, can anyone help me here on how to procure more planes, particularly NV12 compatible OVERLAY type, that can be connected to the working CRTC?

While using ubuntu1604-kernel4.4-VAAPLI.img I took downloaded from the server, I came across the following problem. While trying to develop device drivers for kernel space, I realized we dont have any linux headers in the said system. I have tried looking up for the same at Rockchip's github as well as wiki site, but could not find one. Can anyone point me to the correct linux headers ? I am using RK3288 development board, and current my version using "uname -r" is "4.4.55+"

Quick question for the Banana Pro builds. I've tested with stable Armbian Bionic and Stretch. By default DHCP is disabled on eth0, so the following lines must be added to /etc/network/interfaces to get it to work: auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp But, official docs (section Common features) state: Is having DHCP disabled for ethernet by default the expected behaviour for that board ?

Setup: I have a small home network with several SBCs, PCs, NASs and two devices are running Armbian ARMBIAN 5.59, ARMBIAN 5.59 stable Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS 4.14.65-sunxi for the Orange Pi Zero and ARMBIAN 5.59 testing Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS 4.14.65-sunxi for the Cubieboard 1. So, before some days I've updated some packages - so I can't say which update cause the following described problem: The Odroid boots up and doesn't do a dhcp query - the eth0 interface won't get any IP-Address. 'nmtui' shows (even if I delete every connections and set mine to default) after every reboot a new connection with "eth0" as name and no dchp config and no automatic connect selected. Trying to use armbian-config and set IP to DHCP wont help also, because at the next reboot this "ghost" profile appears again and overwrites the Armbian profile. If I try to activate the Armbian profile (or mine) the "ghost" profile disappears... My /etc/network/inter…

Is there detailed info somewhere how to do so? Back then I was successful restoring the backup on hummingboard. Now I tried with odroid hc2 backup via ssh. pine64 products have sloppy DC connectors. This connector simply detaches from the motherboard. I use in production pine64 pine64-lts pineH64 and rock64. As a result of switching on and off the dc connector, in each case it has peeled off and does not hold power. I've attached the DC connector with glue but that's not what the factory mount. The low price now goes sideways. workmanship worse than nonopi.

Hi, I'm using an Odroid C2 with 8 DVB-C/T (6x TechnoTrend TT-TVStick CT2-4400 and 2xTECHNOTREND TT-connect CT2-4650). Those DVB-C are connected via 2x 4 ports USB 3.0 which are connected in USB C2 ports. The problem is that if I'm using 4 or maximum 5 DVB-C, Odroid C2 has a CPU usage about 30-40% from 400%, so pretty low usage. Now the issues are starting: if I'm trying to start another DVB-C or if I'm doing for example something which uses high CPU suddenly Odroid C2 is rebooting. This is the first thing. The second thing is that the DVB_SKY_2 seems to crash when the mumudvb is starting on a DVB device. The third issue is that I can't change …

How to unbrick the system? When something goes horribly wrong and you can not boot the system, this is the way to proceed. You need some Linux machine where you can insert SD card failed. With this procedure, you will reinstall the u-boot, kernel, and hardware settings. In most cases, this is enough to unbrick the board. You should check the file system before mounting: I do not understand
