  3. Hello everyone, I have a home dashboard (apache2 + php website) on this bananapi since 2018, when I installed a new SSD on it, now I noticed I can't open my dashboard anymore, and when I checked the logs I seen the drive was set to read-only mode. I started to copy my data from it, but I hope I won't need to change the ssd drive. Anyone around to give me some advices, how I could check and fix eventually the existing drive? Not sure if anyone saw this at all or not but the latest debian (11) now includes the panfrost and lima drivers! https://wiki.debian.org/PanfrostLima If I'm reading things correctly the needed bits and pieces (as well as a recent kernel) are in the packages "libglx-mesa0" and "libgl1-mesa-dri". Thought I would give this a go on a now (somewhat old-ish) Odroid XU4 device. It uses the mali t620 graphics chipset which I believe is in those panfrost drivers. I have an Orange Pi Zero board with this output from /proc/cpuinfo Hardware : Allwinner sun8i Family Revision : 0000 Serial : 02004620161dea8a According to that site "the last byte of the first word" should be either 0x42 or 0x83 since the Orange Pi Zero has an H2+. I am now evaluating Armbian Buster and I am seeing a strange issue perhaps you can direct me where to look so I can do troubleshooting. The second time it happened I had htop running to try and diagnose the problem. Investigation revealed that rngd became unstable due to the nm-applet. This led me to re-running the known conditions when this happens, with the network disconnected and now it doesn't cras…

  21. Hello all, I have a Novasom M7 Plus board with a Rockchip RK3328 that initially had an SD card with Armbian. I made the necessary hardware connections to connect to a screen via HDMI and then I followed all the necessary steps to perform the BOOT through the eMMc memory but after transferring the rootfs it will not start via EMMC, only with the SD card it is possible to start the system. I have tried a lot of solutions that I am finding in the forums but I still haven't been able to solve the problem. The goal is to start Armbian without having the SD card inserted.

  27. Edit: Issue is solved, see here. It's an application problem but according to an extensive Google research this does not seem to be a common problem of Samba, so it might be an integration problem with the environment it is running in. The setup: Armbian 19.11.6 (Debian Buster) running the current kernel on a NanoPi M4V2, offering network shares via Samba. Clients are Windows 10 and a BananaPi running Armbian (Debian Buster 4.19.y kernel) as well. Just recently started getting ICE when building large C/C++ code using both GCC and CLANG. I suppose memory is failing in some way related to HW. On x86 Ubuntu I have memtest86+ in GRUB, but how do I test for memory errors on Armbian? I tried memtester and stressapptest but they test only part of memory, and so far don't show any errors, does something similar to memtest86+ exist for ARM?

  74. Hi all, I can't find any documentation (i prob just don't know where to look), so just a quick question: I have a Mi Box S, and i can run Armbian fine on it, it uses "booti ${kernel_addr_r} ${ramdisk_addr_r} ${fdt_addr_r}" to load the kernel images, i'm assuming they are all unsigned. But i would also like to run unsigned app images (openElec/emuElec/etc) which use "bootm <kernel_addr>" but those return an error: aml log : Sig Check 1467 So my question is are you guys doing any "magic" to get it to load, or does "booti" not do a signature check where as "bootm" does? 93. Hi, New to this forum. Hope someone can please assist. I recently purchased a tiny 5" display UMPC device. See instagram/puterpi for photos. There's also YouTube video of it in action by maker too. I installed Armbian image: http://forum.banana-pi.org/t/bpi-m2-zero-new-image-2017-12-04-armbian-5-36-m2-zero-ubuntu-xenial-next-4-14-3-desktop-preview-buildbybpi/4325 Overall, works great. However, I periodically get the following error message at boot up in console and device will not boot up. Only fix I have now is to res-install image file. missing environment variable: boot file Retrieving…

  94. Current system Armbian Bionic (Ubuntu 18.04) - Orange Pi One I am trying to duplicate a previous system, which I have had operating on Raspberry Pi . I have tested my script on the Orange Pi and after a few tweaks, it works fine (brilliant piece of kit!). I just need to boot to command line / terminal auto sign-in upon boot - automatically run python script within command line (the python script is an input form). Really appreciate any help / suggestions on this. Steve

Hello. I feel like this is a really basic stupid question, but for the life of me I can't find an answer. Every thread that I read about getting a display XYZ to work in Armbian references using fbtft. But apparently fbtft is now deprecated and cannot be used anymore. So.. what do I do now? I'm mainly looking to get ILI9341 -based 3.2" TFT and MPI3508 3.5" TFT to work with Armbian. Mainly testing with an Orange Pi Lite2 and Orange Pi 3 currently. I've read this: downloaded, compiled and installed the .dts. Also modified/added line to boot.cmd to use lcd as display according to https://docs.armbian.com/Hardware_Allwinner/ tha…

I'm using Armbian 21.08.2 Focal with Linux 5.10.60-sunxi and I try to setup a bonding interface for failover between eth and wifi. It doesn't seem to work after a reboot. Where are all the interface's files? In RHEL it's under /etc/sysconfig/network, debian it's supposed to be /etc/network/interfaces but this last one contains only source /etc/network/interfaces.d/* # Network is managed by Network manager auto lo iface lo inet loopback Thanks!

  98. before you start: Armbian already provides kernel build script in armbian build framework, and you can download these packages via `apt` in common cases, you shouldn't build kernel yourself, even you want to build a customer kernel package, you should use armbian build framework. because you can get best supports. so below content is only for experts. prepare source code: 1, stable linux kernel source code: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git https://kernel.googlesource.com/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git 2, armbian build framework, fo…

  99. I am struggling to make an external RTC work. "i2cdetect -y 7" reports that RTC at address 68 is alive. I have added in the following lines: echo ds1307 0x68 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-7/new_device hwclock -f /dev/rtc -s Could be a possible reason that hwclock is already linked with internal RTC? Is it possible that DS1307 is not recognised? If I do "modprobe ds-1307" I got the answer: "modprobe: FATAL: Module rtc-ds1307 not found in directory /lib/modules/5.3.11-rockchip64" Could this be the reason? The driver for ds-1307 doesn't exist? How can I get it? P.S. : The OS is Armbian Buster with Linu…

What is a good h2/h3 board to start getting into armbian? I see that there are a few vendors with issues so just wanted to see what is reliable. Wifi + BTLE would be a plus. Thanks
