Hi, On the main site: https://www.armbian.com/ it says only 60 days to go for the next release :-) Well, to have a good user experience and squash bugs I think we should do a feature-freeze from about day 50 onwards - what is your take on that ? To do so, I was thinking about how you could handle this period on Github. Will “pull request’s” after feature-freeze be tagged for later integration? Everybody is welcome in squashing bugs (only the ones in code) eg. updating or adding configuration file for armbianmonitor ? eg. updating or adding information to the documentation ? Last but not least, if you can help with s…

First a very big "Thank you", Igor. You create wonderful images. But now the problem. I want to boot the A20 from an eMMC Flash. I use a HAOYU New MarsBoard A20 Dev Board. The reason: the CM-A10/A20 PCB has a footprint for an eMMC. So the 8GB NAND was removed and replaced by a 2GB eMMC. Then I took the Pecovnik Olimex Lime2 Jessie 3.4.108 image and added the fex file from the MarsBoard SD image. After a fex2bin the MarsBoard bootet from SD0. Life was beautiful. The problems start if I wanted to contact the eMMC. I changed "[nand_para] nand_used" to 0. And I changed "[mmc2_para] sdc_used" to 1. Then the kernel gets in serious problems: <6>[mmc-msg] sdc2 se…

Hello, before even thinking about arranging a CSC board bring up pull request to armbian, I would be pleased to know if it sensible to do that for a TV Box which is not sold anymore but still quite powerful because of its rk3288 SoC. I made my own fork of armbian (see here). I tried to do things the most tidy way, following the best practices learnt from the documentation. The box has very good support now, but requires some initial setup to clean the eMMC. Also I made some customizations to kernel configs which, I guess, should be moved away (mali driver compiled by default, devfreq support, brcmfmac driver for AP6330 wifi, maybe other things...) …

  28. Hi, I managed to compile a working 4.6.2 Linux kernel for my Allwinner H3 powered Orange Pi PC using the Armbian lib build scripts. 29. As armbian incorporates some performance tweaks also with regards to IRQ balancing on Allwinner devices, I just wanted to note, that the irqbalance daemon now finally works on armhf in Debian Stretch. I had tried irqbalanced on arm several times over the last two years, and neither the versions shipped in Wheezy or Jessie actually worked (i.e. balanced IRQs over multiple cores). I also tried to compile a more recent version last year but couldn't get it to work. So, now after upgrading one of my BananaPis to Debian Stretch, I gave irqbalanced another shot and am happy to see that interrupts are now nicely balanced, including e.g. ethernet and USB interrupts.

Hi, not sure if this problem is related to Armbian, but in my case it occurs only on an Armian system. I have mainline kernel (4.7.x) running on a Banana Pro. wlan is configured as access point and works without any problems. eth0 is configured as client with static IP. The Banana is running 24/7, but the ethernet port is used only sporadically. The switch where eth0 is connected to is powered down most time. The problem is that eth0 forgets its IP configuration after a while, ifconfig then reports no IP address for eth0. I have to login via wlan and then ifdown/ifup eth0, then it works again. After a couple of hours (I dont know exactly how long), the IP is lost again. …

I am used to pulling down the package source, modify , recompile and build the updated package. Also how would I add plexmedia player to the Armbian build ? I have it working.. just need to add hardware acceleration to ffmpeg and mpv before I package it up and get it into the Armbian build.

  51. Hello community, I have just been successful building my own image of Ubuntu focal + preempt_rt (kernel 5.15.76-rt53) for my Rock64 board for the first time (a bit of additional background at the end of my post). Exciting! I had a few hiccups along the way, and I need to figure out a few more things. So far I'm happy and impressed with the project. However, given I want to share my work (and the resulting image(s)) I would like to ask for some pointers on what is the best way to go in regards of forking armbian/build and the changes I found myself doing. 56. Greetings, everyone I decided to try armbian for my recently acquired cubox-i4pro. Unfortunately it was missing some kernel modules that I require. No problem, it is easy enough to change the kernel configuration and recompile! Debian Jessie (main system) is even listed as a working development environment, so I thought I would test the included compile script using the instructions from the github. I had recently completed some cross-compilation (for armel, not armhf), so I manually updated the dependencies and read through instructions and looked through the script before getting started. First I compiled the kernel only with the following settings: KERNEL…

I managed to write H3 HDMI driver for mainline U-Boot. Source can be found here: https://github.com/jernejsk/u-boot You should also add CONFIG_VIDEO=y to defconfig for your board. It should work nicely for standard resolutions (720p, 1080p). Other resolutions might work, but some additional work needs to be done. Currently, this can be used for working with U-Boot (instead of serial console) or splash screen.

When ./compile.sh command is used to compiling a new Armbian version (especially with some source changes for debugging), in case there was an error during compilation, it can be impossible to find real reason of the problem. Log files located in output/debug folder are not very informative - they just show the last message, which also appears on the screen - failed in script line number . The following command was used to get full log of the compilation process: command | tee -a log.txt Hope this will be useful for somebody else (newbie), who like me spent a lot of time trying to understand, why the compilation failed after some changes in kernel configuration.

So, first of all, I've added a node with all the settings for this IC in my DTS, the IC is connected to second I²C-controller: &i2c2 { pinctrl-names = "default"; pinctrl-0 = <&i2c2_pins_a>; status = "okay"; os8104: os8104@41 { compatible = "smsc,os8104"; reg = <0x41>; master = <0>; /* slave mode*/ bypass = <0>; /* /ABY (all bypass mode) im register bXCR */ reset_gpios = <&pio 8 17>; /* PI17 */ int_g…

Aside from the DNS resolution issue I am having (different thread), I am often getting stuck on the following: Unpacking locales (from .../locales_2.13-38+deb7u8_all.deb) ... Processing triggers for man-db ... Setting up locales (2.13-38+deb7u8) ... Generating locales (this might take a while)... Generation complete. Generating locales (this might take a while)... en_US.UTF-8... done Generation complete. It just sits there and nothing further happens. I have left it for 30 minutes or more, and still nothing. I usually end up killing it... rebooting and then restarting. When it does get past this, I typically end up with the debian sources DNS resolution is…

Now that I've done builds for NanoPiM1Plus2 and BananaPiM2Plus, along with the previous series OPiZeroPlus-H3/OPiZeroPlus-H5/OPiWin/OPiPrime, and that all of those boards has the same symptoms of missing AP6212 (+/- some have mmc-sdio appear, some not), I've continue my search for hints. To my discovery, I found the following quote in http://linux-sunxi.org/Sinovoip_Banana_Pi_M2%2B I hope that is not true any more ...

Hi, every one! have any of you guys tried to perform SPI loopback tests on any of existing boards ? I mean this driver code http://elixir.free-electrons.com/linux/v4.13.14/source/drivers/spi/spi-loopback-test.c. I tried to find any information on how to run tests but I completely failed to make it. It would be nice if someone shares a step-by-step instruction. Thanks a lot.
