I had bought the kit because I got attracted by its compact size. I had problems with my old media pc so good opportunity to tackle something new. I thought, my requirements for a media server would be quite low/easy to fulfill: smooth playback of 1080p movies clean multichannel sound access to firefox After testing all avaliable images on the rockpi, it was clear, that actually only LE offers exciting movie enjoyment. I had to realize, that my ideas are quite demanding after all. So it was clear, I had to get the driver from radxa working on LE. Why? well, hardware design of rockpi4 with extension HATs is someho…

I've been doing some tests with NanoPi M4 these days. While I'm not a professional board reviewer, here I can share some early performance numbers to you. Beware that none of these tests fit into real world use cases, they are just provided as-is. Besides, Armbian development on RK3399 boards are still at a very early stage, so any of these numbers may change in the future, due to software changes. Unless mentioned, all tests are done using Armbian nightly image, FriendlyARM 4.4 kernel, CPU clocked at 2.0/1.5GHz Powering NanoPi M4 is my first board powered by USB-C, while RK3399 is not power-hungry under normal load, I do doubt if 5V/3A power supply …

Hello, I'm trying to use Armbian with a Nanopi NEO Core (Allwinner H3) mounted on its Mini Shield. I was able to use the CAN controller MCP2518FD through SPI1 and CS1. Now I need to use, always on the same SPI1, the demo board TPM SLB 9670 TPM2.0 that I have already verified on a Raspberry Pi. I found the tpm_tis_spi Kernel module by compiling Armbian Bionic 5.4.37, but I was unable to locate the DTB overlay needed to set-up the following pins: SPI1 MOSI SPI1 MISO SPI1 CLK SPI1 CS IRQ (from SLB9670's demo board to Nanopi NEO Core) RESET (from Nanopi NEO Core to SLB9670's demo board) Can anyone help me? Thanks i…

Hi All, I am trying to use a 4x4 matrix keypad on Orange pi GPIO ,I am connecting the keypad with 8 GPIO's 4 GPIOs for rows, 4 for coloumns ,the problem I am facing is when I try to test the keypad few keys are read only on repeated attempts or pressing. The following is my code. Is this because of Hardware debouncing?. I don't have much knowledge on debouncing. I suspect there is a delay happening in reading and writing GPIOs , because of user process scheduling can be delayed. I don't think accesing GPIO at faster rate is not possible from user application. Please suggest me the best approach. Please suggest me where I am doing wrong. I appreciate any help…

Hello, everyone. I'm planning to make a "power button" on orange pi zero using GPIO pins. I'm using kernel 4.x Of course, some questions. General idea is: 1) Create the overlay with correct pin number 2) Install acpid 3) It should work. Questions: - What resistor should I use to short pin to ground ? 10K ? May other values work ? (Not sure my "scrap metal" box has exact this value) - How does overlay file look like ? I've seen some variants on the forum, but can some one point to working code ? I'm planning to use PA06 pin, as far as I understand it's a pin 7 on OpiZero 26 pin connector. - I'm already …

Hi everyone, it's been a while since i've posted but I have a new project that i'd like to share and hopefully get feedback and ideas from the community. Ever since the first 2 x gigabit ethernet devices came out, I've been thinking that there were a lot of potentially interesting networking use cases. I happened to be re-configuring pihole on a new opi zero, and I had some hardware issues that caused my connection to be a bit flaky on a website that I "shouldn't" have been using. This gave me the inspiration to create a gateway that intentionally manipulates traffic in such a way that you train good usage habits of websites that can be addictive. …

Hi, I startet with conky-grapes from TwisterOS, which I wanted to tweak to show cpu frequency for every core. But that showed, that conky is not able to do consistent text formatting, so I startet to write my own theme. As I like the armbian title font, I asked for the font, but it turned out, that it did not look as good as expected. So I discarded that variant and stayed with the previous selected fonts. Main purpose is to use that monitor in home cinema, therefore I used bigger fonts, which are readable from distance. Feedback is welcome.

Hey guys i recently read Reviews of Novusun CNC from this guide and found quiet good therefore think to share with you guys. Many of us might need top-notch external CNC controller and Novusun is a good option. I loved EC500 MACH3 Ethernet port 6 axis Motion Controller as it can support 16 optical-isolated digital output ports along with 18 optical-isolated digital input ports. It has a 24-36v dc power input for its IO power supply offering efficient anti-interference ability. Also, the latest EMC design makes it easy to work with the CNC motion controller.

Hi, I've been running Octoprint on armbian for several months with good results of a couple of printers with good performance no relevant problems. Installation process is not complex but I decided to build a simple a plug&play meta-distribution like OctoPi for Rpi boards but based on armbian so it can be used potentially in any of the supported boards. I started with the popular Opi Zero as it is really cheap and the four cores of the H2+ processor handle perfectly a 3d printer load and is 3 times cheaper than a typical RPI3B that octoPi requires. You can find it here: https://github.com/ludiazv/octocitrico Built-in features are: …

ODROID HC1 Mini Review ODROID XU4 is one of the most powerful boards Armbian supports (due to being a big.LITTLE design with 4 x A15@2GHz and 4 x A7@1.4GHz). Though the SoC is a bit old performance is still impressive, the SoC features 2 independent USB3 ports (on XU3/XU4 one is connected to an USB Gigabit Ethernet chip, the other to an internal USB3 hub providing 2 USB3 receptacles) but in the past many users had troubles with USB3 due to cable/connector problems (the USB3-A receptacle specification/design is a total fail IMO, unfortunately we've still not USB-C everywhere) underpowering problems with Hardkernel's Cloudshell 1 or XU4 powere…

UPDATE: You'll find a preliminary performance overview at the end of the thread. Click here. This is NOT an ODROID N1 review since it's way too early for this and the following will focus on just a very small amount of use cases the board might be used for: server stuff and everything that focuses on network, IO and internal limitations. If you want the hype instead better join Hardkernel's vendor community over there: https://forum.odroid.com/viewforum.php?f=148 All numbers you find below are PRELIMINARY since it's way too early to benchmark this board. This is just the try to get some baseline numbers to better understand for which use cas…

Thanks to ASUS, I got my hands on one of these after seeing what appeared to be a giant heat sink fin integrated into the top of the case. This case may be of interest to non-Tinker owners as well, it is not designed like the equivalent Pi cases with a fixed aluminum stud touching the SoC. Instead it has a small aluminum block that has an adhesive side, and a thermal pad side, and is clamped down onto the processor by putting the two halves together. This allows some freedom on the location of the SoC relative to the lid. First off, same nice packaging the Tinker owners are familiar with: The case itself is quite …

Relax - Wireless is solved for OPI ONE There seems to be a lot of confusion and missing information on how to access the dirt cheap OPI ONE wirelessly and the steps necessary to successfully use cheap Realtek USB dongles ( 8188cus, 8188eu ) with Armbian_5.10. This is a short summary of the needed materials and steps to turn your OPI ONE into a wireless client or wireless AP. There are NO custom kernels, custom modules or anything else needed, we are using stock Armbian_5.10 with stock kernel, stock modules and stock software to configure wireless access for select tested and working Realtek wifi dongles. I use the OrangePi Zero. But it is similar to other model. It's very simple: 1) use the mainline 4.11.x kernel 2) enable the uart1 and pps-gpio in /boot/armbianEnv.txt like this : overlays=uart1 pps-gpio param_pps_pin=PA7 3) edit /etc/default/gpsd to use ttyS1 as gps device # Devices gpsd should collect to at boot time. # They need to be read/writeable, either by user gpsd or the group dialout. DEVICES="/dev/ttyS1" # Other options you want to pass to gpsd GPSD_OPTIONS="-G -n " 4) If you use ntpd, edit /etc/ntpd.conf like this: # GPS Serial data reference server 127.127.28.0 minpoll 4 maxpoll 4 prefe…

Orange Pi One PCB is designed to easy add almost all removed features from Orange Pi PC. Currently only RAM expansion is unprofitable. To add 2 removed USB ports just solder wires to solder points as shown below on the photo: Data lines for USB #3: points 1,2 Data lines for USB #2: points 3,4 Power can be taken directly from GPIO header or DC socket. OPiOne has no separate voltage regulators for USB ports like previous boards used to have. This way I want to solder mini WiFi dongle (after removing the case and USB port) directly to the PCB.

Hi, This topic was a initially a question and become a tutorial to use push buttons on orange pi PC. This tutorial has been made with an Orange PI PC running on "Armbian_5.35_Orangepipc_Debian_jessie_default_3.4.113.img". With this example you will be able to launch 3 different scripts for each push button : /usr/local/bin/run<Wpi GPIO number>short.sh -> immediately launched when a button is pressed /usr/local/bin/run<Wpi GPIO number>long.sh -> launched after a long pression /usr/local/bin/run<Wpi GPIO number>release.sh -> launched when a button is released (but not after a long pression) …

Orange Pi Zero NTP Stratum 1 PPS GPS Server with Armbian OS. Link to the Tutorial - http://schwartzel.eu3.org/ntp-stratum1.html This tutorial uses a 3.3V capable GPS module with PPS output - TOPGNSS GN-701 (u-blox 7) but other similar modules should work. I've been troubleshooting a little bug all day long, and think I pretty much found it. vcc3v3_pcie20 specifies gpios = <&gpio0 RK_PC5 GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH>, but the M.2 power switch on the Orange Pi 5 is on GPIO2_A1. The vendor DTS uses gpio2 pin 1. With the mainline value, pcie2x1l2 never links (Phy link never came up / LTSSM 0x3); changing it to <&gpio2 RK_PA1 GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH> brings up PCIe Gen.2 x1 link up and the NVMe enumerates. This was reproduced on vendor 6.1.115, current 6.18.x, and edge 7.1.8. Workaround that I'm currently using is a little user overlay: mkdir -p /boot/overlay-user cat > /tmp/pcie-m2-power-…

Recently I tried to use CC1101 Radio-boards to access with spidev0.0; this works after some research: 1. activate spidev in the /boot/armbianEnv.txt (important) 2. in armbian-config hardware activate spidev in the downloaded test routines the speed of the spi is set too high (8000000) 3. set this down to 4000000 In addition: I need the interurpt functions of GDO0 and GDO2 in the next test program. As Interrupts on wiringOP seems to work not on all GPIO-Pins you have to select PAxx for example After the change of the code for this PA21 wPI-Pin 11, it works as expected Michael

It's simple guide, presenting how to setup LCD (ili9431) with integrated touchscreen (tsc2046) on mainline kernel (4.11). It may be not fully "armbian way", since I'm pretty new in armbian In case that somebody is interested, I recently bought couple those displays from here Few basic informations: 1. OrangePiZero has two SPI buses. First one is usually occupied by build in memory. So we can only use bus1 2. tsc2046 chip is fully compatible with ads7846, and we have drivers for it since years now 3. Maximum clock frequency for ads7846 is 3.25Mhz, but don't expect that it will work with that. Reasonable value is something beet…

Hi all. The Panfrost GPU driver is finally starting to mature for Mali G52 on the Odroid N2/N2+ and Khadas VIM3. It doesn't perform great yet. But this will improve with time. In this video I show how to activate the panfrost driver on Armbian mainline. To activate panfrost : sudo add-apt-repository ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade sudo reboot Khadas VIM3 support is in the making. This also works on any other mainline image. Greetings.

I think this qualifies as a hardware hack? Certainly amuses me. Hopefully others enjoy it as well. So never quite got my 3.5 mm audio jack working properly on my M4V2 (though others reportedly did). But did find a way to get audible tones from the PWM fan control by playing with the PWM period, so decided to see if I could get music out of my M4V2 in another way ... Hi there, I have a RockPi 4b running Arabian with Ubuntu bionic. I mainly use the board to contact it online over ssh/vnc/rdp to work in spyder and texmaker. Quite often the connection is slow however. Therefore I am thinking of changing the system such that i can just bring it on the road and connect it using a local network with the usbc cable outlet of the iPad and a USB port on the rockpi. The reason i would like to connect over a cable is speed and not having to use the WiFi so that both devices can still easily connect to a WiFi network for internet access. I have found many solutions where iPads are connected to raspberry pi’s. These solutions all have …

Overview: SinoVoip sent me a few days ago a review sample of their new Banana Pi M2+. It's based on Allwinner's H3 SoC and tries very hard to be a 99% clone of Orange Pi Plus/PC. SinoVoip chose to stay compatible to nearly all pin mappings therefore any OS image that works on Orange Pi Plus will also work on BPi M2+ but some things need adjustments. BPi M2+ features GBit Ethernet, eMMC, 2 USB host ports and one USB OTG that do not have to share bandwidth (no internal USB hub used and H3's 3rd USB host port unused unfortunately), Ampak AP6212 to provide WiFI/BT, fortunately no crappy USB-to-SATA bridge, a CSI interface to be used together with an OV…

This little and inexpensive ($35) board is fully compatible to discontinued NanoPi M3. From a software point of view both boards are identical (though Wi-Fi is missing on the Fire3) and as such identical OS images can be used for both boards. The good news: compared to the last time I looked at the M3 kernel support has improved a lot. Back then we had to run a smelly 3.4.39 (32-bit only) while we can now run mainline on it. I gave it a try using our Armbian Stretch nightly running with 4.14.40 (full armbianmonitor -u output) and did a couple of tests. The Samsung/Nexell S5P6818 SoC consists of 8 A53 cores running at up to 1.4GHz with default settings (can be …

The Orange Pi One is the most recent SBC from Xunlong. It's clearly the Orange Pi PC's little sibling. In case you haven't read the PC's review already maybe it's time to do it now since here only important differences will be shown. Since it's based on an Allwinner SoC (system on chip) please keep in mind that you will always find the most comprehensive and up-to-date information in the linux-sunxi wiki: http://linux-sunxi.org/Orange_Pi_One The most important differences between One and PC as follows: Smaller size: the PC used the RPi form factor (85mm x 55mm) while the One is just 69mm x 48mm in size 512MiB instead of 1GiB DRAM (still two DDR3L modules making u…

Another look at another SBC: The Orange Pi PC from Shenzen based Xunlong. The company claims to have done the original ODM work for Banana Pi as Foxconn contractor and started with 2 'Orange Pi' models based on the same A20 SoC shortly thereafter: 'Orange Pi' and 'Orange Pi Mini' -- both supported by Armbian from the beginning. Then they released the 'Orange Pi Plus' based on a newer Allwinner SoC: the H3 (quad-core Cortex-A7 running at 1.2GHz). This SoC is intended for dirt-cheap OTT boxes, is equipped with 4 independent USB 2.0 PHYs and also an integrated 100 Mbits/sec Ethernet PHY (but can still provide GBit Ethernet using an external PHY like RTL8211 as Xunlong i…

Clearfog PRO with R1 in the back After a day of playing, I am running full featured Armbian, Debian Wheezy, built with Armbian script from sources. We had to fix few things in U-boot and upgraded kernel to .82 but generally it was easy to boot the board. Of course SolidRun also provide some basic images. Three(3) phys, USB and PCI is detected in kernel 3.10.82 - I don't have much hardware to plug in so I can't do much tests at this point. There is no CPU governor (yet?), so I assume it's running full speed (1.6Ghz) all the time. There are dip switches on the board to set cpu / dram speed ... ____ _ __ / ___| | ___ __ _ _ __ / _|…

Hi all. I've made a new video about x11vnc. With this you can control your Linux desktop from any other PC/SBC. It even works for videos and games. Only there's no sound. I use lightdm as display manager. If you use another display manager, change the line "After=lightdm.service" with your display manager. Here's my video, To Install sudo apt install x11vnc To create a password file x11vnc -storepasswd The service script : /lib/systemd/system/x11vnc.service [Unit] Description="x11vnc" Requires=display-manager.service After=lightdm.service [Service] ExecStart=/usr/bin/x11vnc -auth guess -loop -forever -safer -shared …

Hello, this quick tutorial is to introduce an experimental Debian and Ubuntu APT repository to install ffmpeg compiled with v4l2request and v4l2drmprime patches developed by Linux kernel, LIbreELEC and Kodi folks to allow hardware video decoding on stateless decoders like those implemented in Rockchip and Allwinner SoCs for h.264, h.265, vp8 and vp9 codecs. The repository introduces a new ffmpeg package that integrates and substitues the base ffmpeg package and its related packages. Preconditions: Mainline kernel 6.1 or more recent armhf or arm64 architecture Supported distributions: Debian 12 - Bookworm …

Hi all. I've just finished reviewing the Khadas VIM3. It's an amazing SBC with unmatched performance. It's got the Amlogic A311D SoC. Comparable with the S922X of the Odroid N2. But the 4x A73 cores are clocked at 2.2Ghz and the 2 x A53 cores to 1.8Ghz. So it performs a lot better. It also comes with an NPU, MIPI-DSI and MIPI-CSI. And can be powered with USB type-c from 5V up to 20V. Here my review video. Here all my gathered information. Station M1 is based on a firefly board quite similar to roc-rk3328-cc. However, the M1 has a different layout with all ports on the left or on the right, and it is enclosed in a metal case used also as a heat sink. The device tree is also different (rk3328-roc-pc instead of rk3328-roc-cc) and by default a smooth android 10 system is installed on emmc. Additionally, the powering of this board is ensured by a 5V USB-C port instead of a micro-usb for the roc-cc. You can find official pictures and specifications here. My M1 has 2GB ram and 16GB emmc but variants with 4GB ram and more emmc storage can be bought. Currently, an armbian CSC image can be downloaded (bu…

Hello, the Rock64 SBC can receive an add-on board with audio ports and an additional ethernet port. I have used it a lot before, with Debian Stretch. With the armbian image it does not work. The reason is simple, this board must be activated by a script which is missing. Ayufan has added a set of scripts in /usr/local/sbin, but they are not present in this build. They can be found here : https://github.com/ayufan-rock64/linux-package/blob/master/root/usr/local/sbin/enable_dtoverlay Then run the necessary command : enable_dtoverlay eth1 ethernet@ff550000 okay and the card is present in ifconfig. Once given an iP address, it works perfectly. …

https://www.mccdaq.com/DAQ-HAT.aspx I've reached out about whether or not they know if the software works with non-RasPi boards. I'm not dropping $99 to test it personally, if it fails then what? But, looks like a nice setup if mated with a proper board. The other option of course is to build one myself, but then it becomes a question of software, which would take far longer than the hardware itself.

Now that there are an increasing number of boards running in 64 bit mode (Aarch64) it might happen that you want/need to run a 32 bit application on a 64 bit OS. I suspect that there is more than one way to do this, but here's what I've been using: dpkg --add-architecture armhf apt-get update apt-get install libc6:armhf libstdc++6:armhf Some applications need the following step to run: cd /lib ln -s arm-linux-gnueabihf/ld-2.23.so ld-linux.so.3 There is a downside to this approach - after adding armhf you have to be careful when installing new packages that you get the right version and don't end up installing 32bit packages that you don't need.

I need a suggestion for a samba server (guess that is what it is called). I have an 8 TB external powered HD, and need a device that I can attach it to, so I can "see" it on the network. I had it attached to the USB 3 port on my Asus router, but it had issues, because the router did not support the 8 TB HD. I now have it connected to one of my microPCs (Tronsmart Ara X5) USB 3 ports, but I am only gettting a max of 12 MBs speed. I would like an inexpensive board that will support that drive and is easy to set up as a samba server..... thanks.

The following is the start of a series of tests regarding minimized consumption mode for SBCs. Idea behind is to provide Armbian settings that allow some of the SBC we support to be used as cheap and low-power IoT nodes (or call it 'home automation' or anything else, at least it's about low-power and headless useage) I start with some consumption comparisons with various RPi models below just to get a baseline of numbers and to verify that my consumption monitoring setup is ok. Also you find a lot of numbers on the net that are questionable (measured with inappropriate equipment, comparing OS images with different settings, taking cable resistance not into acco…

*** This is educational material only concerning current limits and their effects on things like rise and fall times, and how they can theoretically impact SD cards. The correlation with reality is purely theoretical and has not been empirically proven, the concept is correct but any specific values may be/ probably are off by some factor*** A lot of boards from various vendors inevitably have some difficulties with electrical signalling. You see it in delay values, phase correction in software, etc. The general prevailing theory is almost always "get it close and fix it in software". I got my hands on a "Set 9" Orange Pi Lite + GC2035 camera a while back and I've finally been able to put together a self-contained object detection device using Tensorflow, without sending any image data outside for processing. Basically, its a python Flask application that captures frames from the camera using a GStreamer pipeline. It runs them through a Tensorflow object detection model and spits out the same frame with extra metadata about objects it found, and renders a box around them. Using all four cores of the H2 it can do about 2-3 fps. The app keeps track of the count of all object types it has seen and exposes the metrics in prometheus format, for easy…

Hallo, this Mini-Howto describes how to change the behavior of the onboard LEDs during booting. There are many ways to do that. Two ways are shown here, a SysV style using /etc/rc.local and a systemd style using a configuration file in /etc/tmpfiles.d/. The systemd file is earlier interpreted than rc.local. It is tested on Banana Pi M1*/M2/R1 with Debian jessie next (5.0x, 4.4.x). * partly Which LEDs could be accessed? root@bananapim2:~# ls -1 /sys/class/leds/ bpi-m2:blue:usr bpi-m2:green:usr bpi-m2:red:usr * The Banana Pi M1 lists the blue LED but it couldn't be set via /etc/tmpfiles.d/ or /etc/rc.local. Hi everyone, I bought this Orange Pi PC with this OV5640 5MP camera module. This is not so much a 'Tutorial' as it is an overview (and/or starting point for further research) of some things to consider when setting up a file server, some in general and then some more particular to SBC. In the simplest case, you could attach almost any drive to almost any board, by any number of ways, and you have yourself 'a file server.' However with even a small amount of effort, there are so many better ways to do things nowadays. We have a lot more interesting hardware choices, advanced filesystems, etc. and so those are mostly what I want to talk about. But first, some context. Dedicated distros vs simple directory shari…

Been doing some RK3588 board porting and kept running into the same category of bug — dtc compiles clean, dtbs_check passes, but the board either panics on suspend or a peripheral silently fails to probe. Stuff like: Peripheral on the EE supply wired to something that only stays alive in the AO domain → suspend-resume panic Copy-pasted a GPIO bank with 32 pins, used pin 35 → kernel panic at driver probe SPI clock request exceeds PLL maximum → silent bus hang Two nodes sharing the same GIC SPI interrupt line None of these are schema violations — they require knowing the actual cross-domain constraints of the SoC, which dtc has no idea about. …

Since I've seen some really weird disk/IO benchmarks made on SBCs the last days and both a new SBC and a new SSD arrived in the meantime I thought let's give it a try with a slightly better test setup. I tested with 4 different SoC/SBC: NanoPi M3 with an octa-core S5P6818 Samsung/Nexell SoC, ODROID-C2 featuring a quad-core Amlogic S905, Orange Pi PC with a quad-core Allwinner H3 and an old Banana Pi Pro with a dual-core A20. The device considered the slowest (dual-core A20 with just 960 MHz clockspeed) is the fastest in reality when it's about disk IO. Since most if not all storage 'benchmarks' for SBC moronically focus on sequential transfer speeds o…

This is some more research based on prior efforts. The goal is to make more efficient use of available RAM. If the system runs low on memory only two options are possible: either the kernel invokes the oom-killer to quit tasks to free memory (oom --> out of memory) or starting to swap. Swap is a problem if it happens on slow media. 'Slow' media usually describes the situation on SBC. 'Average' SD cards (not A1 rated) are slow as hell when it's about random IO performance. So swapping is usually something that should be avoided. But... technology improves over time. In Linux we're able to swap not only to physical storage but since a …

Hello, recent upgrades to armbian are regarding kernel 5.15. This has been tested on Debian Bullseye and Ubuntu Hirsute on following platforms:…

In this tutorial we build a custom .config for OrangePiOnePlus board, eg: to remove blutooth, WiFi and or USB3.x support since the hardware is not onboard, alternatively you can adjust settings to your needs which is not in the default .config. The section mentions, if file " userpatches/linux-$KERNELFAMILY-$KERNELBRANCH.config " exists, it will be used instead of default one from " config ". This means for the OPiOnePlus : " linux-sunxi64-dev.config " should be created, but please note "dev" is just one of the three options available, which are: " current ", " legacy " and " dev " The default config files are located in : " /armbian/config…

Hi All, I recently bought a cheap 16 character, 2 row LCD display from aliexpress.com for use with my Orange Pi PC. I got it to work without too much pain, but I thought I would document it here for the benefit of others. Some good instructions are already available on the internet, but there are some tweaks required for the Orange PI. Armbian I believe already has the I2C module compiled into the kernel directly. So no Linux Kernal insmod work required, unlike what many Raspberry PI guides seem to imply. Step 1) Buy the things you will need. 1. You obviously need a 1602 LCD module which also comes with the the I2C converter…

Hi all. I've done a lot of tests with different desktop environments on Armbian. I wanted an as light as possible desktop environment so I'd have enough ram left to do video rendering with the NanoPi M4(2GB) I had to try a lot of things to get things working fine. With NODM installed I had problems, so I also removed NODM. To be sure lxdm is configured right, I also manually configure it. sudo apt install lxdm sudo apt remove nodm sudo dpkg-reconfi…

Im using Armbian Stretch and I have been looking for the information for like three days. Is there any tutorial, library or something to check how to use the pins on the board? I need to use I2C, SPI and I/O pins... Im even considering switching to RPi because of the lack of documentation... Any help is appreciated Thanks!

Hi, all! Is it possible to make micro usb otg connection through gpio pins on the orange pi zero? I'm asking because when OPi is located in the box, I need to use external USB type B socket to micro usb cable. So it will be really cool, if I will have opportunity to connect usb otg socket through gpios. Regards.

Hi all. I've just finished a long video special where I talk about all my SBCs. In the order how I got them. I show the specs of all of them. Say what I like, what's bad about them. What I use them for. What SBC is best for your goal. Here's my video, I hope you enjoy it. Greetings, NicoD. P.S. : Pictures of anyone else their collection? Mine are not all on this pic, no room for them all.

Hi all. You might have already heard. Armbian is aiming to support the Raspberry Pi4. @rpardini already made well working images for it. In this video I talk about why we would want Armbian for the RPi4, and I show you around in Armbian Jammy 5.13 for the RPi4. We do need to find someone who wants to take the task on him/her to be maintainer for RaspberryPi4 at Armbian. For this you need one spare board that can be used for testing when new release are made. Here some info I gathered. Raspberry Pi 4 cooled with big heatsink on SoC and fan on-top Board | SBC-Bench | Distro …

Hi all. I've just finished a new video about Armbian Hirsute XFCE4. I show what's new. Mostly the feel and look are a bit more modern. Here is my video. Some other notes I've got : Memory usage buster < focal < hirsute xfce4 < budgie < cinnamon CPU performance buster < hirsute < focal xfce4 < cinnamon < budgie So Buster xfce uses the least memory. And is also the slowest. Hirsute is quite a bit slower than Focal, and uses more memory. I do find the newer looks worth the price. Here my benchmarks : Fix missing network sudo apt install gvfs-backends Download SBC-Bench wget https://raw.…
