Hey all, Selling my Helios64 as I've recently upgraded my server if anyone is looking. Fully built, original condition with all drive bays and screws. Sadly no original packaging, seem to have discarded that for some reason and it has been sitting in direct sunlight so has a slither of fading on the top but still working away fine up until a few days ago. Drop me a PM if you're interested or are looking to get some pics. Given it's size and weight I'd only be looking to ship this within the UK, possibly mainland Europe at a push. Thanks

Hello Armbians, I am a newbie here so maybe this topic has been already discussed, if so just point me to it. Thank you. I have several TP Link routers (MR-3020, MR3420) that I would like to play with, especially usin serial connection. Since I am also a newbie in this area too I would like to know if it is possible to use Orange Pi Pc board or any other Orange board to connect to those routers separately without buying those little usb to uart ttl adapters. And if it is possible, which pins from Orange board to use, those 3 TTL pins or the others from the GPIO row. Thank you

  3. Yesterday I did get a new little Bluetooth-Speaker, but without AUX - I rechecked some Bluetooth-Commands. But could never connect, because the Pi missed the protocol A2DP - which was only available with PulseAudio as Bluetooth-Module So I used my 2nd OrangePi One with USB-Bluetooth-Dongle and mainline-kernel for this challenge: ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.18-sunxi Linux opi-one-main 4.14.18-sunxi #24 SMP Fri Feb 9 16:24:32 CET 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux I like ALSA more than PulseAudio - I searched for ALSA and Bluetooth-Audio - and did found no good news about Audio and Bluetooth while using ALSA. 5. And no, that isn't supposed to be a rude title :-) ! Let me try to explain. What I'm trying to do is to have some sort of device run pi-hole. I have tried this in the past with success but when I last tried it I was using a raspberry pi zero and a usb wifi adapter - so it really only worked for one PC. What I'm now trying to do is to try to do the same for my entire home network. My guess is that I need some sort of small computer to put in front of the first device the internet touches (a router). So if I put a small arm based computer just before the router running pi-hole that (in theroy) should mean all the devices after the pi-hole get the black-hole ad b…

  9. I've had this going for quite some time now regarding Rockchip RK3588 boards, specifically for me, the somewhat PC-alike Firefly ITX-3588J, and trying to see if it is possible to create or refine the various software out there so that it could be made to work like a PC, e.g. with EFI booting off USB sticks, GRUB, etc. for loading an OS without needing an external computer. This has been tried on and off over the past year, without much luck owing to how incomplete the software for this board type is. However, it seems that in the most recent versions of mainline U-Boot (i.e. U-Boot 2023) at least, there's enough RK3588 support to get it up and running, and I have my machi…

A network interface is flipping all the time Up/Down. * 512 MB is not enough for a tor relay * Hardware watchdog does not work reliably. It works in synthetic tests but sometimes a board just freezes. Things I like about NanoPi: * Armbian support * Price * Size/form factor * Performance * Heat dissipation * Ethernet tap My use cases: * Tor router * Home DNS server * Monitoring server Prometheus for my SBCs and network equipment.

CNX software gave me the heads up on it, https://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=244 More or less looks like a Duo with the following adjustments: 256 --> 512 MB RAM base H2+ --> H3 (uncertain why this matters on a DIP package) Garbage Wifi --> AP6212 Other than WiFi I'm not sure I see a huge reason to go for one over the other. If you're building around a dual-inline package, multimedia is probably low on priorities. On the bright side, supporting this should be trivial if there's a demand, it should more or less only require a device tree for the wifi.

Hi, I have currently a Raspberry Pi 3B+ running as WiFi access point, hooked up to the router via Ethernet. This allows me to play around and redirect traffic via TOR or whatever I can think of on the Pi. It works quite well, but I actually think the PI is possibly a bit overpowered and too expensive. Can anyone suggest an SBC that can handle the task equally well (stable + good WiFi performance for a handful of clients with connection to 50MBit/s uplink) but is less expensive? I already had a look at the Orange Pi Zero Plus 2, which seems suitable in terms of specs. Thanks, 1llusion

I have the following; https://www.androidpolice.com/2015/12/19/jide-remix-mini-android-desktop-pc-review-interesting-software-let-down-by-bargain-bin-hardware/ https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=44_567&item_id=092497 Which version of "Armbian" should I download for these 2 devices? As well I was wondering if there is a generic x86/x86_64 version of Armbian for download? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  52. I am using apt proxy on opi pc 20.11.1 buster. Te proxy was working fine but now it gives error for apt.armbian.com only, not for debian repos. Err:2 http://apt.armbian.com buster InRelease 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR [IP: 192.168.10.1 8080] Any hint? Edit: https works

  53. Just to say really impressed and wow you guys have done a lot with the documentation since I last looked. I was never a big fan and its been a while, but wow I have to say its really great and thanks for all your efforts. No script bloat and all seems really logical and much work most of been done.

  54. Hi there. Is there someone who can guide me with linux driver porting? I have now an armbian with kodi and retroarch that i'm using for test, but I'm planning to move to a more TV friendly OS as retrorangepi or h3droid. the main problem is Netflix, I should go for h3droid only for netflix app, but I want to be sure that retrorangepi and kodi works the same as on armbian/retrorangepi. and that the temps are the same. Can you help me if you had some experience? PS I know that I could run netflix on kodi but I didn't tested it. thank you in advance

It ain't much but it's honest work I kept airodump running for a few hours and it seems stable. If you want to take a look/try it you can find the code h…

Is it worth starting an Armbian wiki? It seems that for questions such as how do I write the raw file to an SD card, how do I disable LEDs on my whicheverPi, why doesn't my orange pi pc boot this work in progress image and so forth could be answered there. Hopefully it would reduce the Forum traffic for such things, but also when they do pop up a simple one line response with the wiki link is all that's required. I realise that there is the Armbian documentation, which is great, but only really covers how to use Armbian to build images. Equally there is gold mine of information in the forum, but it's sometimes buried a few pages deep or only comes to the surface…

  62. Hi there, I'm looking for a USB power supply that would be mounted into a rack, so that I can power up quite a few boards at the same time. These boards would also be in the same rack. I found a big rackable USB hub, but that's not what I am looking for, and 2.4A max per slot may be too weak for some of the boards. I could hosts several smaller USB hubs too, but that does not sound really enticing. My other option is to make it by myself with salvaged server power supplies, a patch panel, bits and bobs, but it will take longer... Would you have any recommendation? Thanks.

  64. Hi, I'm part of a nonprofit working on improving access to digital education in the developing world. I'm looking for a fairly cheap SBC (<$20) that has a HDMI port so that it can be connected to a TV monitor (including old TVs like CRTs). The microSD card will be preloaded with static webpages from educational websites so that students can surf these websites at home. It should also have bluetooth or a USB port so it can be connected to a keyboard ($10) or mouse ($1). I don't strictly need wifi (the microSD cards can be updated on a different device), but it would be a plus. Another nice-to-have would be compatibility with Android apps, since…

We apologise for some deleted posts and users, wrong settings and possible bugs. Since our previous forum was 5-6 years old, upgrade is tremendous but we will try to keep it similar on function level. There was a plan for redesign but this will be done once in the future. Enjoy!

I started down the road of using an ESP8266, but GPIO.INT was flaky and GPIO pins limited, so I ordered a MCP23017 and figured Why not just do everything with one NanoPi Duo? I have a few of them and they are made for breadboard prototyping. Plus with the built in Ethernet I can have wired primary and wireless backup networking. I even rolled my own Ethernet adapter since the breakout adapters cost $5+. If you have already done this and have any wisdom to share I'd like to hear it. No turning back now!

If I have an SBC and I shut it down (e.g. using "shutdown now") then it enters an inactive state. However, I haven't done anything with the power supply - the board is still powered. So what changes in the state of the board as a result of cycling the power? If nothing changed then it would continue in the same inactive state as before? But instead, it boots up when power is restored. I'm guessing the answer varies by board. On the Raspberry Pi it seems that on doing a shutdown the shutdown process writes a volatile magic number that can be read by the …
