Gentlemen, I've spend time looking for the GPIO pinout for the Orange Pi Win I am using with Armbian. Specifically I would like to use SDA and SCL. Does Orange Pi publish some information on this subject? Thanks in advance for your information.

Hello After spending hours of trying to create an older DEV kernel (5.1.21) here are the following steps in order that it will work. I will describle here about the 5.1.21 kernel but I think it can work for any kernel. 1. create lib.config file under build/userpatches with the following: KERNELBRANCH='branch:orange-pi-5.1' 2. And this is what create the magic: download the Armbian files that matches that distribution and replace all the files in the build directory: for example I have downloaded from here - This link is the build version from the branch of the 5.1.: https://github.com/FireflyTeam/armbian-build/tree/e…

Hi, I'm using a cubietruck and bananapi board (both A20 devices) for a long time (They run very stable for many years). I'm using uart3 for interfacing with arduino boards using the kernel overlay. When I upgrade the kernel to a version 5+ the overlay does not work anymore and ttyS3 is not working and missing in dmesg. The behaviour is the same on both boards. Hi there, I have 2 OPi PC+, one was with Jessie, then upgraded to Stretch, Working almost fine, only one issue was "systemctl start postgresql.service" not working. I used a workaround, "su - postgres -c 'pg_ctl start'". Postgres not from repo (previously was from repo) but compiled from source, as I need at least version 10 for "logical replication". Not at some point of time, I noticed message, that kernel package is to upgrade (3.4.112 to 3.4.113). After reboot graphics don't start. "No screens found". Ok, so I tried to upgrade (apt update, apt upgrade, apt dist-upgrade after changing name in /etc/apt/ files). Now it's almost crash: - graphics …

I want to drive 2 SPI devices on my orangepi zero. I enabled `spi-spidev` and `spi-add-cs1` overlays and set `param_spidev_spi_bus` to 1. But by I still get only `/dev/spi1.0` available. When I add `param_spidev_spi_cs=1`, I get `/dev/spi1.1` but `/dev/spi1.0` disappears. Do I see it correctly that I can choose *either* `/dev/spi1.0` *or* `/dev/spi1.1` but not both with that overlay? How can I activate both cs pins? There are a bunch of example custom files out there, but none are meant specifically for the setup where I need spi1 (instead of spi0) and need to use a GPIO pin for cs1. And I can't really find any docs on how to write my own overlay. So any help is appr…

I've read this and it surprised me noone mentioned e2image. I'm using armbian orange pi pc build. The fs is stock ext4 hence why I stick to e2image below. It is not about cloning a live system, hence the sdcard is plugged into my PC. Fdisk shows a single partition at 4M offset. First I backup the partition table and bootloader dd if=/dev/sdX of=offset0.img bs=4M count=1 Next I backup the single partition with e2image into a qcow2 image e2image -Qa /dev/sdX1 part0.qcow2 qcow2 only keeps used blocks. My partition size is 14.7G, space taken is 12%. part0.qcow2 file is 1.7G. Done with backup…

Using Armbian_20.02.1 with 5.4 kernel on NEO2 board, I'm running into an issue trying to get the USB OTG working with the g_ether module. When I run modprobe g_ether I see the following in dmesg: [ 490.490582] udc-core: couldn't find an available UDC - added [g_ether] to list of pending drivers I've also tried compiling my own img using the Armbian builder but it looks like all the correct OTG options are already selected by default. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I am successfully using Armbian Current on my Banana Pi. I have a 120GB usb SSD drive. I'd like to boot from it - my other Banana Pi with the same system boots from SATA connected HDD no problem. When I boot the device, I can see the drive using sudo fdisk -l as /dev/sda1 I can also get the UUID and everything. I've modified the /boot/armbianEnv.txt file and changed the UUID, but I can't get the machine to boot. I tried also to change the UUID to /dev/sda1. Didn't help either. When I boot with HDMI connected, I can see the kernel iterating through USB bus and the result is "no USB storage device found" and that's it. …

Dear forum, When looking at the Orange Pi Zero schematic V1.1, the OSC-RTC box is empty. Does this mean that there is no crystal for the internal RTC? The internal RTC cannot be used at all? When just checking the time register, the RTC is running too fast. Thanks, Arjan

Hey, i hope this has not been answered already but i could not find it. I also hope this is the right place to report it. The orange pi + does not appear in the list of devices https://www.armbian.com/download/?tx_maker=xunlong but there is a download page for it you can reach by the search. https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-plus/ i assume its a bug in the web page?

Hello It is funny that new kernels going out and kill what developers have made working on older kernels.. For example I have had no issues with GPIOs pull up in 5.1.15-sunxi64 kernel. On Kernel 5.1.15-sunxi64 I do not get those errors; Python: GPIO.add_event_detect(31, GPIO.RISING, callback=count1) RuntimeError: Failed to add edge detection I didnt have any issues with Kernel 5.1.15 but I cannot recreate it anymore. Maybe this will help to give a clue of what is happening: at 5.1.15 kernel: In ArmbianEnv.text I have enabled the w1-gpio: param_w1_pin=PC7 (PC7 Is GPIO-71) …

Hi everyone, I am using an OrangePi Zero with AllWinner H2+ and I need to catch UART1_TX and UART1_RX interrupts. I have been reading the Allwinner H2+ datasheet (http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/images/0/08/Allwinner_H2%2B_Datasheet_V1.2.pdf) and I have seen that UART1 interrupts are mented on PG_EINT (section 4.22.2.46) and UART Register Description (section 8.3.5) - I have no clear which registers I should configure to detect the UART1 interrupts, and how to do it. For example, for detecting Received data available, I think I should: - Enable the ERBFI bit in UART_IER register - Check IID field in UART_IIR to de…

Hi, I have recently installed latest (20) Armbian Desktop for OPi PC(+), have problems installing software from network repo (synaptic). 1). Small version problem with one of Qt5 libraries (dependency for Kadu - Polish communicator GG client), synaptic wants version 1u1, on the net there is version 1u3. Installed using wget + dpkg, now Kadu starts (at least) OK. 2). PostgreSQL problem: there is version 11 of PgSQL provided, OK, it's current production. BUT there is PgAdmin3(!) in repo, which works with at most version 9.6 of PgSQL (from PgAdmin site). Now there is PgAdmin4, but (I) cannot make it work (compile from source OK, but doesn't start)., there is N…

The Orange Pi Zero +2 H3 with USB hat will hard lock up on boot at "Starting Armbian Hardware Monitoring" when booting the latest (and at least one previous) available Buster (and Bullseye) images over HDMI console. Tested on multiple SD cards with the same result. (I will test with serial later, I do not have the time to remove it from the case at the moment; I figured I would post it now in case anyone had a chance to check before I could.)

Hi! I use this board since jun/2019 with Armbian 5.90 and kernel 5.1.15 (all OK except HDMI audio). In these 6 months tried to update kernel image few times, 5.2.x some months ago and now 5.5.0, but not more 1920x1080 support, the maximum is 1280x1024. Xrandr not show as supported mode anymore, whats happen? This is related to u-boot? I think can not read EDID, because no monitor model name is shown. Another question is, now in 5.5.x I can see HDMI audio device, but still can't listen, what left to be developed?

According to the specs of the OP PC Plus, it only supports 32GB micro SD. My only 32GB that I have, that I was booting from on the OP PC plus eventually got corrupted, and will not boot, can't format and install armbian or anything. What are my options? Can I somehow boot from a 64GB micro sdcard, or USB from a fresh armbian image write?

Ok, so, first of all, I am a complete noob. I bought Banana Pi thinking that it is similar to Raspberry Pi's architecture but it's obviously not. I bought a 240x240 Waveshare 1.3 inch hat and I was wondering how to get it working on my Banana Pi Zero (H2+). On Raspberry Pi I can use Juj's fbcp-ili9341 driver but it's probably not compatible with Armbian, right? How do I go about it? Also, it would be nice to know how to detect buttons (that are on the hat) and convert them to key strokes. Thanks!

Thanks for providing the new Buster image (5.4.7) for Orange Pi One Plus. All the essential stuff works well, giving me new software possibilities. As a technical feedback, I'd just like to mention 1) the red light keeps shining (instead of turning green, but Armbian runs very well, anyway) 2) an attached monitor doesn't receive any signals (but I prefer SSH anyway) 3) the console keyboard layout wouldn't accept any changes (but using SSH, that doesn't make any difference now). Everything else in armbian-config worked fine. Great tool!

Hi everybody, I need your help in setting the default values of some or all GPIO Pin, so that it will be always activated after reboot instead of deactivated like the default is today. The reason for this is that I've connected a relaisboard to some GPIO Pins that will need "1" to be deactivated . Everything works fine, I can control and work with these Pins like needed by using "1" for OFF and "0" for ON. After booting up my BPI I initialize the needed GPIO Pins via export the pins. That will create virtual directories for these Pins with these defaults: direction -> in value -> 0 Like I mentioned, my relaiseboard need a logica…

I installed the latest 5.4.8 Buster Desktop image on my Orange Pi +2e board but find the Mali drivers are (Utgard) missing or not loaded. I have tried to follow every possible links including (https://linux-sunxi.org/Mali_binary_driver) related to get VDPAU / VAAPI and GPU but with very little success. I want to have HW acceleration enabled for playing MPEG in full screen mode 1920x1280 resolution using mpv. The frame drops are significant. Questions: Are Mali drivers included in this build? If it is then how can I go about adding those drivers. Is there any licencing issues in adding Mali drivers to the Armbian image? Is there any chances of Lim…

Well, I have this old M1 lying around. I found use for it. However HDMI output seems to be broken and I have composite video USB dongle at my hand and it boots... but I can not do anything with it. The question becomes: How on earth can I make it "ssh login"-able from the first boot (preferably with mdns)? What should I do with the image? Auto configuration tools - as handy and nice those are - are not for this. Thanks.

I recently updated my Orange Pi Zero Plus to the 5.3 Kernel and since then it failed a few times. I tried to find the reason why it hangs, and when connected using ssh, I get the message kernel:[ 275.633561] thermal thermal_zone0: critical temperature reached (100 C), shutting down After seeing this, I started a program that generates load and watched the temperature and CPU in htop. Temperature goes up to 100°, but the CPU stays at 1.3Ghz. After downgrading to kernel 4.19.63 it works as expected again. Temperature raises, but then the CPU speed is limited, first to 1.01Ghz, then 960MHz and then temperature is always low enough to stay at …

Hello, I have been struggling for some time with random freezes. I am running application with i2c0 Fram and UART1 for transferring/receiving data based on MAX3232. The freezes cause no response from Orange PI (debug UART too), only unplug power helps. I read that it may be a problem with powering but i tried many USB power adapters 2A, 3A and ATX power (28A) connected to GND and 5v, nothing helps. I have lowered cpu max frequency to 816Mhz and still the same. All necessary data uploaded via armbianmonitor.

Had a bit of a success with HDMI audio and also video acceleration on OrangePi 3. What was needed was to apply some patches from LibreELEC, namely ones from projects/Allwinner/patches/linux/ . For HDMI audio to work you need 0004-sun4i-i2s-improvements.patch , which contains support for I2S on H6. When done right you should see in dmesg: asoc-simple-card sound: i2s-hifi <-> 5091000.i2s mapping ok Also what helped was an IRC chat that Jernej had with mirko some time ago: https://irclog.whitequark.org/linux-sunxi/2018-03-14 For video acceleration you need 0005-cedrus-improvements.patch and compile Cedrus driver. Is anyone still working with cubietruck? I installed the latest mainline image over Christmas expecting it to have the cedrus driver but apparently it does not. Hello, I’m from Russia, I don’t speak English well, I write a translator through Google, I hope you will understand me. My Orange Pi One Plus H6 installed different Armbian image 5.3.9 the system works well, but there is no sound via HDMI, in the pulseaudio tab of the configuration menu it says "there are no cards available for configuration". Did I understand correctly that the H6 processor does not support the audio codec, so there is no sound, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for the answer.

Hello. I'm writing a program that requires sound.target. I was reading about sound.target and how it's a special systemd unit that doesn't load until the system finds the sound card. Armbian takes quite a bit of time to find the sound card on the OPi, around 30 seconds. Or, maybe it's something else that's making it take so long. I was wondering if there was a way I could mess around with systemd or something else to make the sound card found faster, thus sound.target and my program loading faster upon powering on the device. Thank you

Hi all. I've been working with the OPi3 and PineH64 model B the last days to try installing MESA and DRM drivers to make Panfrost work. This doesn't seem to work.
