Gent's currently I run Igor's Debian Image on a BananaPi (kernel 3.4.105). I want to add the wifi driver for Ralink_RT5527. What is to do? Here my thoughts, - install header's - pull sunxi-kernel - copy config from running kernel - make menuconfig - add the driver - make correct ? Regards

I've set up my new OPi Zero as a wireless AP running the latest Armbian build for the OPi0. It's working mostly great. My one problem I'm having is that my speeds seem to be throttled to 5-6Mbps. I connect wirelessly from my phone and run a speed test and get 5-6Mbps. If I connect directly to my router, I get 30Mbps. I have a Rpi3 set up about the same as the OPi0, and when I connect it up I get the full 30. Each time I've tested with the OPi and RPi, my phone is the only device connected. So, I've poked around online and I can't seem to figure out if it's a hardware limitation or if it's a software/driver/setting limitation. Also, if it's the latter, how/where to…

  3. As stated in the topic the new Orange Pi Zero LTS reports incorrect system temps (likely due to 16bit overflow if I were to guess): ~$ cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp -2178 Model Purchased: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000070093365.html

  4. I got my lite days ago, and have tried lots of images, none of them can recognize the build-in wifi Instead, a eth0 device is presented. is it the actual wlan? Armbian gives me the best compatibility so far (in terms of usb support) I can read the chip module is printed realtek 8189FTV, but lsmod shows me a 8189es module loaded. By google around, no luck for the FTV version driver. I also played with the script.bin, but still no luck. Anyone can give me some hints. Thanks.

Hi, I am trying to make the OPI Zero boot with the help of the onboard SPI with the goal to boot from an usb drive and not from the sdcard. What steps should be executed. I only managed to get the Xenial image to work with my 512Mb board... so that is what I want to use. I assume... I need to make u-boot work with the sdcard... move the whole thing to the usb drive (with the u-boot) and than populate somehow the SPI with the image of an SPL, which would get it up through the u-boot on the usb. So I would need some in depth guidance (best would be some example commands to be used), what steps and tools should be executed to make it work. Thanks in advance &amp…

  7. Hi there, I am a new user of OPi PC+, downloaded, flashed Armbian_5.20_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop.img basic setup OK, got IP, changed passwords etc, GUI starts. As I don't have USB keyboard/mouse, I've opened SSH session, then set export DISPLAY=laptop2:0 , then xterm. OK. From BT side it also looks ok: adapter blinks, I can find my BT keyboard/mouse using hcitool scan Now the problem: if I launch bluetooth-applet / bluetooth-assistant it CRASHES (assistant) at step of PAIRING device. (applet still alive). So my quiestion is, how to pair this remote device without "assistant", and make it available as "normal" keyboard/mouse? [device …

  9. Well it took me longer than i hoped but i have managed to forward port icenowys code for TVE on the H2+/H3 to mainline armbian. It seems to work totally fine, with a few caveats. First: Sample images of it in action -> https://imgur.com/a/vXQEM Second: the patch itself -> https://github.com/stevenj/h3-tve/tree/v0.0.11 Third a prebuilt image for Orange Pi Zero: -> https://github.com/stevenj/h3-tve/releases/tag/v0.0.11 Howto: just put the patch into userpatches for the sunxi-next kernel, and build. it should apply cleanly. Its for H2+/H3. I have only tried it on a orange pi zero, but it should work on all H2+/H3 boards. …

Hi, we bought several Lime2 and tested them. Unfortunatelly, the GBit-Lan did not seem to work reliyable. Later ping tests revealed a packet loss on many boards of 1% to 20%. (eg. "ping -s 9000 -i 0.0001 -c 5000 fritz.box"). Some boards dont have any problems, other more. On heavy access with SSD it's increasing a little. It's happens also without SSD. Other boards worked fine at the same power and network cable. Its possible thant this strange TX_DELAY isn't set correctly? Are there other problems known? Hey, after making sure that all packages are current (armbianmobitor upload available at http://sprunge.us/Migh)I still have the problem currently that my three cubietruicks freeze after working 1-3 days. Is there anything knows with uboot 5.23 in case ob unstability? The last uboot I remember that was quite stable was 5.20 ... Can I simply downgrade to that using sudo apt-get install linux-u-boot-cubietruck-next=5.20 or such? Thanks for an advice... Ingo Fischer

I Installed the Armbian system who is dedicated for my OPI version: http://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc/ with instruction, formatted SD card with format size adjustment option ON. But when I want to boot it there is only still green light (steady all time). OPI not giving any boot information on screen. This issue is not caused by SD card becasue I tried two (which one is recommended): Kingston 32GB (class 10) and Samsung EVO+ 32GB. Has anyone had similar experience or have any idea how to solve this?

  18. Hi, I am new to Orange Pi, Armbian and this forum. Done lots of Raspberry Pi and other Linux stuff. Can someone tell me if the Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 H3 & H5 boards are supported by armbian? They are available on Aliexpress here(H3) and here(H5). They are not listed on the download page, but are listed in this post. Also, if they are supported, is it better choosing the H3 or H5 variant? Seems to me like the H3 might have better software support, and might be the better choice.

  28. Hi all, I was just wondering if you had experience with the performance on the H3 allwinner CPU performance based on the cpu temperature ? I'm trying to tweak my fan to only cool down the CPU once it gets close to peak cpu temperature levels, before performance starts to degrade. According to the Allwinner H3 datasheet the maximum ambient operating temperature is 70° (see page 612) http://dl.linux-sunxi.org/H3/Allwinner_H3_Datasheet_V1.0.pdf Do you think I can let the cpu go up to 70 before cooling it down or should I start sooner (i.e 65° / 67°) to keep my pi at top performance ?

So far only audio on HDMI works. Analog audio is still generating an error on startup. The patches were taken from a git repository by warpme: https://github.com/warpme/minimyth2/tree/master/script/kernel/linux-6.6/files , and probably came from the Zunlong SDK. The BananaPi seemed the obvious choice as it has the built in USB OTG port and we would use the gadget printer to mimic the attached printer. Googling around, I read a lot of controversial options, like edit /etc/network/interfaces and use nmtui, but, I couldn't set BOTH eth0 and wlan0 to a static IP. If I do it for eth0, wlan0 doesn't work and vice-versa. One guy said that after Debian Jessie version (https://nebulousthinking.wordpress.com/2016/02/25/setting-a-static-ip-for-raspbian-jessie-in-2016/), some things changed to set up static IP. Now, from Jessie, we need to edit /etc/ dhcpcd.conf, but, where is it ( dhcpcd.conf )? Can someone instruct me about how to set static IP, please? Sergio

  50. Hi all! Kinda "mayday-mayday" I recently upgraded Armbian to 5.35 and after reboot it gone. After long investigation i figured out, that it boots ONLY when HDMI cable connected to even standby tv. This is my home server and it works nonstop in headless mode.. I am on kernel 4.13.16-sunxi, rootfs on sata SSD. I guess something cannot be detected with uboot. How can I fix this ?

  52. Let me start to express my gratitude for the wealth of information and software which is available here. I'm a longtime user of a usb 2.0 soundcard along with a laptop with KXStudio and Guitarix. I've used this setup many times for gigging and home recording and it proved to be stable. One of the downsides is the "voluminous" laptop. I've my soundcard mounted in a small 19" flightcase with one rack still open. For some years I've been thinking of making rack mountable effectprocessor from a board to substitute the laptop. So, to start this journey I've ordered a OPi PC (along with a good quality micro SD card!), of course not a heavyweight board, but my first…

  53. I just upgraded (using a fresh image with the 5.69 image) one of my SOPINE A64 modules from Armbian Xenial - legacy kernel 3.10.y to Armbian Bionic - mainline kernel 4.19.y. The onboard ethernet will no longer work. The sopine module is connected to a clusterboard instead of a sopine baseboard, but the NIC is on the module so it should not make a difference. On Xenial 3.10.y kernel the driver loaded for the NIC is the sunxi_geth driver, on bionic 4.19.y kernel it is the st_mac100 driver. Here is the output of the lshw for 4.19.y *-network:0 description: Ethernet interface physical id: 6 logical name: eth0 seria…

I've fighted against wifi devices that stop to work untill i've tried the raspberry pi3 and the edimax dongles, correct the sd errors (untill i've decided to run the boards with a readonly fs), installed the (software) watchdog, etc... but now everything works perfectly from months on more then 20 boards equipped with good power supply and sd. 60. It seems that the latest Nano Pi Neo Air Boards and the relatively new Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 both use a modified version of the AP6212 WiFi+Bluetooth module, which is physically labelled as AP6212A. This new module apparently requires different drivers to operate. From my own experience, I was unable to get the internal WiFi module to work on a Nano Pi Neo Air (with AP6212A) using any of the Armbian distributions. However, I was able to get WiFi to work on that board with the Friendly Arm distribution at from https://www.mediafire.com/folder/sr5d0qpz774cs/NanoPi-NEO_Air#oc15bwqbuxgxe. I just received a second Nano Pi Neo Air from a different vendor, and this …

Changing the /etc/modules-load.d/modules.conf to 8188cus initially seemed to work, but on the validation stage itsimply freezed and automatically rebooted, repeating it for as many times as i tried. I've also test with others like 8192eu/8192cus/8188eu/8188cu and all of then either returned no wireless network found or freeze and reboot. Is there any way to solve th…

Being withought a HDMI connector, an OPi Zero must be accessed via SSH. I've tried all versions, mainline and legacy. Hi all, traditionally I have used Bananian on the Bannan Pi M1+, but I thought that I would give Armbian a go as there seems to be more activity here and there are tools for compiling an entire image from scratch :-) So far I love Ambian, thank you for the work. I have tried the vanilla Jessie image (both downloaded from here and compiled myself) on the Banana Pi M1+ and with the exception of the WiFi issuet which I solved from this forum, all ran well. However I can't seem to find an SPI driver. My apologies if there is another forum post about this, I did try searching but the search function removed SPI from the query due to it being less than 4 chars :-( When…

Hi there Have purchased a Lime 2 device, as it offered GigE-which my Pi's dont :-) Loaded up both the vanilla and the normal distro's but both have this annoying habit of the device just goes to sleep-sometimes after a few hours. When I say sleep, I can still see the Ethernet LED's blinking away-but it wont respond to PING's, and it wont respond to SSH. Plugging in a monitor and keyboard doesn't bring it back to life either. If I power recycle it (2.5A unit being used-have tried the OTG and the 5vdc but no difference), up she comes. Fully updated in terms of packages. I have even set up a continuous ping to my home router from the Lime 2 (its on my internal LAN) to see …

  99. Hello, There seems to be scant details about the NanoPi Neo 2 LTS, so I thought I'd contribute some. My testing is much less formal than how some would measure it. What I especially like to do in the way of network speed testing are the "worst-case scenarios". My way of invoking a sort of "torture test" is to mostly test upload speeds (as they tend to be slower than download speeds), both large files (much easier), as well as uploading many tiny files (much more gruelling to store, so is therefore a major "torture test"). Having said that, I'll usually favor all-GbE networking (noting which I'm using, GbE or wifi), because I know GbE will b…

  100. I don't know if this is something I have broken or not, but I have a \var\log and a \var\log.hdd both identical and both being updated. Where should I be looking to rectify this duplication? ARMBIAN 5.25 stable Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 3.4.113-sun8i OrangePiZero
