  1. Hello everybody, I'm pretty new to Armbian and H3 boards. I own an Orange PI + 2 board brought more than 1 year ago, yesterday I started to play around with it and I've discovered that for some reason its Mali GPU doesn't support OpenGL ES and it's somehow related to it having 2 GB of RAM on board. I'm really not sure how it can be related, but that's what Armbian's changelog for v5.20 says: Later in v5.25 it says: So I just want to know if 2GB boards feature OpenGL ES support (as well as HW video decoding etc)? I tried to run glxheads, glxgears etc from mesa-utils package, but got some really poor FPS there + some games I used for …

  2. I use a OPiPC as my mqtt and smb server. Until Monday I used an older version of Armbian (something around 5.20 I think) and everything worked flawlessly. Monday i did a mistake and destroyed the sd card filesystem (i was doing a backup with dd, but i've made a mistake making the sdcard as the output file). After downloading and installing the system on a new sdcard (Armbian 5.69 on a 32gb Kingston class 10 sdcard) I've experienced a few problems: --h3disp and h3consumption were missing (I've read that this is due them being incompatible with the latest kernel, which is sad because i'd like to turn off the ethernet and hdmi controllers as well as underclocking the cpu to …

Using the Ubuntu Armbian image for pcDuino 3 I am unable to get the ethernet device eth1 to work. Wireless works fine, but trying to get an IP address for eth1 fails consistently. I have read various indications that this may be an issue with GMAC TX delays or similar, but as a newbie to pcDuino and embedded Linux I do not know how to alter or adjust this, or if this is even the problem. Has anybody else experienced this with the pcDuino3 and is there a solution? As a long time UNIX developer I am reasonably confident this is not merely a UNIX configuration issue, as I have configured the pcDuino 3 Ubuntu identically to my other reference Ubuntu servers which work fine. For the Armbian side i chose the nightly dev Armbian_5.27.170602_Orangepiwin_Ubuntu_xenial_dev_4.11.1_desktop.img (Desktop) and for the Legacy i chose my own build with all "Bells and whistles" (full Desktop, hdmi, camera, bt and wifi). I did not optimized Armbian Mainline, just installed and run stock. For the Legacy i optimized as usual. If there is some optimization to do on Mainline side, i missed. 12. Hi, I have ten orange-pi pc plus with Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS with Linux 5.10.43-sunxi burned onto emmc, and twenty orange-pi pc plus with Focal 21.05.6 with Linux 5.10.43-sunxi burned onto emmc. In an attempt to provoke the same issues we have with Xenial on these boxes, I have all of them rebooting (shutdown -r now) once every 10 minutes. They have all been under test for several days. They are all connected to a LAN backbone, but the LAN is not connected to the internet, so whilst they may be attempting to do unattended upgrades, for example, they are all failing. This is a deliberate part of the test. Of the twenty Focal 21 boxes none have failed. …

  13. Hi! The jessy vanilla image works fine, but when I boot the Olinuxino Micro with a SATA HDD connected, I don't have ethernet/ssh access anymore. Even reboot _without_ the HDD doesn't work, I need to restore the content of /boot with an SD-card-reader to make it work again. Sorry, I am (yet) not really into sunxi/uboot/kernel topics, so maybe there's a simple explanation to this behaviour?

I’m using the ARMBIAN version of Debian Jessie on my Banana Pro with a great dose of satisfaction and I have noticed that the message about “system status†which appears on the first SSH Login Screen after each reboot provides a very useful insight into my system. I would like to display this message every time I open a new SSH Connection windows to my device, so to always have that i…

Hi All, after next collapse of our network I used the hammer to destroy the R1. This board is really shit and I will never ever continue with any kind of experiments with it. The reason is probably BCM chip. But I am not sure. Everything works well on the table, you can stress it as much you want , everything works well. But when you use it for real traffic, the board starts to collapse, unexpected restarts etc. I followed all recommendations of you, but without success. The question is ... Which board for router I have to use? Any ideas welcome. Petr P.S. If somebody wants R1 for home router/NAS (for home is ok), I have two available, the third ended …

As far I can see there's not that much documentation about S/NBROM (essentially linux-sunxi's Wiki and Allwinner-info git repo) and what's supposed to be H3's NBROM (header 1100, 1100, 1633) looks like slightly different from A10's one (from git) at first glance. Is there anyone here who has already worked on it and/or has info/symbols/pseudocode/whatever might speed up the reversing process? Thank you!

The armbian can't start if gps connected to the uart port and vice versa - It starts with unpluged gps. Also it's can be a problem while initial password changing.

  95. Hi, my overlays=w1-gpio spi-spidev are not working anymore since I upgraded from 4.14.84-sunxi to 4.19.13-sunxi (Banana Pi with armbian 5.70). Regarding the 1-wire protocol cat /sys/bus/w1/devices/*/w1_slave responds "No such file or directory" since the upgrade. Also regarding the spi overlay # ls /dev/spi* should result in /dev/spidev0.0 whereas kernel 4.19 says "cannot access /dev/spi*: No such file or directory". All was working fine with the 4.14 kernel. thanks in advance

  96. Hello, I am trying to switch from an older wheezy (lemaker) install to a newer Armbian Jessie install, (5.14 Armbian).By using the Legacy Kernel I can load ft5x drivers for the 5" PCAP Screen. So Far, everything is working normally except much faster and reliable. My Problem is that I can't read the analog voltage from my MCP3002 anymore using spidev python module. I have spidev and spi-sun7i in /etc/modules ls /dev/spi* /dev/spidev0.0 /dev/spidev0.1 dmesg | grep spi [ 1.202344] [spi-inf] Found 2 spi devices in config files [ 1.209170] [spi-inf] boards num modalias max_spd_hz bus_num cs mode [ 1.212928] [spi-inf] spi_board0 …

  97. Started by pazzoide,

Hi on my Banana PI I have set no swapfile/partition since I never gonna use swapspace ram is gonna be enough. When I reboot I always find 499MB of swap swapon -s Filename Type Size Used Priority /dev/zram1 partition 255728 67052 5 /dev/zram2 partition 255728 66836 5 But I can find no entry of /dev/zram1 nor /dev/zram2 in /etc/fstab. Can anybody explain me how is this possibile? And how to manage those partitions? I found another /dev/zram0 which I think has to deal with log2ram since it is mounted on /var/log, is this corre…

  98. I have couple H3 and A20 devices and all run fine except one - Opi Lite, running latest Arbian (5.26) with built in wifi connected does not close SSH session upon reboot/poweroff. The session eventually times out on client but sometimes I have to kill it manually. There are no modifications to PAM nor systemd-logind configurations and the configuration is exactly the same as on other devices. I'm wondering what may cause this misbehaviour, and how can I fix this? (This topic was created yesterday before db failure/site update and I can't find it now on restored site, I guess it has been lost)

  99. Hi everyone, I am using nmtui to setup static ip both eth0 and wlan0 on orange pi zero. It works fine if only one of them was activated I want to use both. If LAN cable was be connected into pi, the board is run on ethernet. On other side, run on wifi when the cable was pluged out When I rebooted the pi without LAN cable, the eth0 auto activated lead to I can't access the module via wifi even though it is connected successful. I must connect via serial and disable eth0 after that I connected via wifi.

  100. Hi all, Firstly, I want to say that I'm new to Armbian and embedded Linux. I have tried searching the solution for my problem on various sites but I haven't had any luck. I am using a Nano Pi Duo 2 (H3) board with Armbian Buster to communicate with another device through UART1 (TX1, RX1). I am able to communicate at 115200 bps with no problem. However, I need the baud rate to be at least 230400 bps (ideally 921600) for my application. I'm using WiringNP library. When I changed to those baud rates and performed a simple feedback test (shorting TX/RX), I can receive the data. But when I connect it to another device, the communication does not funct…
