Hi im not Linux user not all, can someone point me how to enable SPI ? I try this: Enabling SPI Enable the hardware through config: sudo armbian-config switch on SPI in System>Hardware>SPI-spidev & save Update /etc/modules: sudo nano /etc/modules to include the following line: spi-dev Update /boot/armbianEnv.txt : sudo nano /boot/armbianEnv.txt to include the following: param_spidev_spi_bus=1 #origianl is 0 but the resonance measurement.py module expects 1 so easier to fix here param_spidev_max_freq=100000000 The commands to verify the SPI bus should return output like: $ ls …

Is there currently a known problem with some of the Repos used by H3 Armbian Mainline (OrangePi Plus 2). For the last few days, when I run apt update, I get timeout messages on some repos. The repos that are consistently timing out are: http://ports.ubuntu.com xenial InRelease http://ports.ubuntu.com xenial-updates InRelease http://ports.ubuntu.com xenial-updates/main armhf Packages Additionally, this Repo sometimes times out, and sometimes succeeds, but takes a long time: https://deb.nodesource.com/node_6.x xenial InRelease Please let me know if you require more info. Many thanks, Roy Gilby

Hi, I was on the legacy kernel until recently with my bananaPi M1. I switched to the vanilla kernel but since then, when I try to use the GPIO python library (for bananapi from LeMaker github), it works quite well except for functions gpio.add_event_detect() or GPIO.wait_for_edge(channel, GPIO.RISING) This usually disconnect my network and the event is never detected. I have to reboot the PI to restore the state. Also, a normal read/write state GPIO.input(PIN_NUM) works perfectly... I assume it is due to the vanilla kernel but could not find any documentation on why this is happening... Any answer/comments would be much appreciated! Let me know if yo…

Hi, No real problem, just a question. I've formatted the opi+2 card I have using recovery and now I get ping screen. I use a 1280x1024 screen with a DVI converter. I tried the HDMI cable using a 1080p TV and it worked without issues. I also tried "h3disp -m 33 -d" "h3dsip -m 1024x768 -d" "h3disp -m 33" and so on. None of them worked. Here is a system output (used armbianmonitor -u) http://ix.io/1iWN !! Hey guys, first off, I'll make no bones about it... I'm an absolute noob. But I wanna learn! So I have the OPi PC and I purchased this 7" HDMI USB touch screen Now, I've plugged it all in and the screen worked fine right out of the box but the touch did not. I've verified it's working by plugging it into my desktop and everything worked great. I can only assume that it's not working due to a lack of drivers. The screen came with a CD that contained the screen drivers but not the touch drivers. It also came with a handful of RPi distros with the drivers preinstalled. But nothing for OPi Can anyone offer some suggestions?

Hi there, I recently purchased a NanoPi NEO Air from FriendlyElec with a CAM500B module. It works alright with the mjpg-streamer and their provided Ubuntu Core. I built an Arabian 5.27 Nano Pi Air Debian Jessie image with the default kernel and the device is no longer found. I've forced the load of ov5640 and vfe_v4l2 in /etc/modules, but /dev/video0 isn't appearing. The kernel log has this in it when the module is loaded: [ 116.519650] [OV5640@lex]init_sensor - frame_rate: 0, max_win_size: 11 If I boot back to Ubuntu Core via SD, the camera is back.

I have an Orange Pi Plus 2E I'm using as a cheap desktop computer/kiosk. I want to run Armbian on eMMC but use an SD card for file storage. If I boot off the eMMC, then insert an SD card (formatted as ext4) after boot, the system works well. But if I boot off the eMMC with the SD storage card in the card slot at boot, the CPU load increases and performance lags. Hi, I'm getting going with a pile of Nanopi Neo's and am using the jessie server image with the legacy kernel I'm having trouble with the repositories - I see this error when using apt-get ... I've got a LeMaker Banana Pi Pro board, with LeMaker Banana Pi Pro Camera V1.0 which is a ov5640 module. I think there are some on-line manuals from official LeMaker, for instance: http://wiki.lemaker.org/BananaPro/Pi:Camera_Module . However, it seems Armbian_5.59_Bananapipro_Ubuntu_bionic_next_4.14.65 hasn't provided such a ov5640 driver module for me to load? Where can I find the ov5640 driver module ? Cheers Pei

See build log https://paste.armbian.de/lesoquheja The kernel works, but installing the .deb failed because my extlinux script could not copy: /usr/lib/linux-image-6.18.1-edge-sunxi/overlay/sun8i-h3-analog-codec.dtbo The whole overlay folder does not exist. It does exist for 6.12.58-current-sunxi and last time I compiled kernel for the nanopineo was 6.16.8, the overlays were created. I remember it was also once the case with edge kernel for other SBC ( .deb package from the Armbian beta repo). That time own local build did create overlays. I am not sure where to look or what could be wrong.

Hello. I'm using CubieTruck, Armbian 5.00 (Armbian_5.00_Cubietruck_Debian_jessie_3.4.110.zip). I installed and setup mpd, using spdif port and Tos-Link cable. Everything went well except the volume. The volume is too low to listen to the music. I can hear that, if I turn up the external amp's volume, but even I do that to the maxium, it still is very quiet. What can I do? Please give me clue. Thanks in advance~!

Hey Guys, IM finally trying to make use of my OPi0 and Im planning on creating a daughterboard/hat/shield similar to the expansion board they sell, but with only the bits i need. One thing i'm wondering is if its possible to feed the power (5v) via the pins on the expansion board and not using the OTG input. Im trying to keep it as clean as possible and dont want to have the OTG connection for power. Is the regulator only on the OTG? Last I checked, my power supply gives out a steady 5.3v feed @5amps (driving some power hungry pixels). In regards to sound. I wanted to use an LMA386 amp on my custom daughter board to boost the output for a 4 ohm speaker i'…

Hi! Could you please clarify, is there a way to increase default limitations for max cpu freq (H5) on Orange Pi Prime? As i understand, according to driver (cpufreq-dt): /etc/default/cpufrequtils is a bit less restrictive: Is this a driver limitation ? Or there is a way to increase cpu-freq, but it's not used by default ? ( ... and why, if it is so ?)

Hi everyone, Very green here. Basically I setup 1 of my orange pi a few months back with "Armbian_23.02.3_Orangepizero2_jammy_legacy_4.9.318". I recently bought another pi and wanted to set it up with a newer version. I see bookworm is now the latest. I have tried both CLI and Minimal but whenever I flash those into my micro SD the orange pi never boots up. My router doesnt see the connection, so it cant hand off an IP. I thought maybe it was a bad mini SD or a bad pi. But when I flashed the old jammy image into the same SD, the pi immediately picked up the connection, my router gave it an IP and I was able to log in as a root to the pi. I re…

Hi, I understand that powering the Orange Pi Zero through the USB OTG interface is convenient but suboptimal due to low power, especially if you have other devices attached to the board. I've seen recommendations that powering the board directly via the 5V and GND on the GPIO from a clean and sufficiently powerful power supply is preferable. I know in theory what needs to be done but I don't know how to physically connect to the board. The GPIO is a 2x13 row of conductive holes in the board. (Is there a name for this sort of thing, by the way?) Say I have two wires, 5V and GND. How do I physically attach a wire to one a hole? Do I need to …

So I thought I had a stable system with my OPI PC the 4.7.3-sun8i kernel (for BTRFS support), but the OOM killer keeps silently triggering. I can see it on the serial term and in the logs. So I have done some troubleshooting. I added the following t /etc/sysctl.conf: vm.swappiness=10 # try a value that will actually use the swap vm.min_free_kbytes=64000 # ensure that some memory is always available, held back from file caching. vm.oom_kill_allocating_task=1 # kill the offending task that requested the memory and not the task with the most memory to give up to see if there is an obvious trigger culprit. So, what I found is that the systems memory usually looks…

I'm trying to get the Orange Pi One Plus' OTG port to function in "otg" or "peripheral" mode. I've modified the device tree configuration to change the "dr_mode" from "host" to "peripheral". This works as long as the Orange Pi One Plus and the device are separated by a hub. If directly connected via an OTG cable/adapter the device instead charges from the Orange Pi One Plus. I assume this would be due to the OTG port acting as a power source rather than a power sink. However, after experimenting I've been unable to find a device tree configuration change the role of the vbus. Does anybody have any advice?

Hi. I've got a Orange Pi Win Plus flashed with armbian, everything is running great, except the bluetooth module. I have everything installed, but blueman keeps telling me that no adapters are found. I've checked if the bluetooth adapters were on with the command 'armbian-config', as well as trying to stop and restart it with '/etc/init.d/bluetooth stop and start'. I start to feel like it won't work on linux, because I've already tried debian and ubuntu from the orangepi downloads page and the bluetooth didn't work too. I don't want to run Android just because of this issue. Any ideas?

Hi All First post here. Have been using Rpi Zero 2W for a couple of years in various installations and other then speed been happy with it. So got an Orange Pi Zero 2 W in an attempt to use it as a plug in replacement for the Rpi. Installed Armbian and other than a booting issue, it all works. The first obstacle is the i2c, it is obvious that is nowhere near as easy as a Rpi to set up. I have read many posts and get more confused as the days go on. So, the question: Is there a step by step instruction on how to enable I2C. I am connecting 2 x ADS1115 A2D converters, one at &H48 and the 2nd…

Like most people that have consumer ipv6 service, I have NATted ipv4 + global ipv6. I'm trying to get my v4 to be a static address and my v6 to be slaac with privext 2. Hi, I would like to ask you guys if you have any experience in deploying a Hadoop Cluster on cubieboard2. I am using Debian jessie 4.1.4 and I am having a lot of trouble doing it. The problem is with the ports, they are not opening when I start the hadoop daemons, so my question is: Is it even possible to deploy hadoop on Debian Jessie 4.1.4? I have tried everything. Fresh install, deploy a configured hadoop cluster that was working on ubuntu 14.04 LTS, forcing the ports to open which took me to an unsolvable error( related to Protocol Buffers ), but the main problem is the ports not opening, giving the Connection Refused error. I have searched the forum and the internet and am having a lot of trouble finding a guide on how to covert the OTG on my OrangePi One to a USB port. (I am assuming it is possible to do.) I believe the current configuration for the OrangePi One is one usb and a OTG. I would also Like to be able to use the OTG as a USB port when I run OpenElec as I would like the second USB to plug in the new Optional Bluetooth dongle. Seasalt

Today I updated my BananaPI M1 board, replaced the Bananian OS with Armbian Armbian_20.05.4_Bananapi_focal_current_5.4.45.img. I'm not getting the SATA with connected 1TB WD10JFCX working. The HD worked before with the Bananien kernel 3.4.x What can I do, how can I test, how can i get more information about the reason? The board is powered via the Micro USB and armbianmonitor reports DC-IN voltage > 5V

Hi, Got an issue with some long latency/buffer on OrangePiPC. Legacy built kernel with RT (Armbian 5.32). The default output, Audiocodec Analog Stereo, exhibits a latency of about 500ms or somewhere there, it is actually a delayed play. Other outputs do not have such latency, eg if I connect a USB audio device, it is just fine with only a few ms of latency. If it was a generic setting that would have impact on the USB audio too, but it is not, USB audio plays without excessive latency. Tried to set as low as I could the default-fragments (=8) and default-fragment-size-msec (=3) in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf to have 24msec of buffer but to no a…

Hi there, I was expecting /etc/machine-id to be unique for every install, but it is static which was very unexpected (I use it as the basis of machine-specific identifier which should have been globally unique). fixing it up was easy enough: rm -f /etc/machine-id rm -f /var/lib/dbus/machine-id dbus-uuidgen --ensure systemd-machine-id-setup Shouldn't this be done when the root fs is being resized on the first boot?

Hi everyone, I have an orange pi pc+ (also a orange pi one) and i'm trying to use one of them as a wifi-wifi router. I've been able to do it work several times, with different wifi dongles, armbian versions (both debian and ubuntu legacy and mainline) but I always get low wifi speed in the AP interface. The problem is that the AP network through the orange pi always gives me around 30-10% of the full internet connection. That is, if my connection gives me 1.5mb/s, the client interface at orange pi gives around 1.5mb/s but at the AP interface is only 200-500 kb/s. I'm going to show here the last configuration I've tried. I would like to achieve a "decent" wifi…

I'd like to install the latest Armbian for Orange Pi PC, but want to remove GUI / desktop packages and use CLI only. I can't find any docs on how to create a tailored distro without GUI (and associated) packages. So I guess an alternative is to install a standard legacy distro, then trim out the GUI (and likely other) packages as desired. Any suggestions or documentation? Thx.

Good day, for my Orangepi PC+ I installed Armbian Ubuntu Jammy on a µSD card. Up until Armbian Ubuntu Strech I was able to use a PCM510A for sound output. The settings for this were easy. With all updated OS after Strech, I can't install the PCM. Unfortunately, the help that was published in the forum wasn't helpful or I couldn't take it over. On the eMMC I have installed Armbian5.59 Orangepipcplus Ubuntu xenial default 3.4.113 desktop. Because of the advanced age of this OS, there are no updates and upgrades. Luckily my internet radio still works. Can someone explain to me how I can install the PCM510A at Jammy? Kind regards hajupiko49

I've experienced some issue on my OPI PC running 4.14 kernel - it disconnects eth after some hours of running. It's very annoying for me because I'm running Home Assistant automations on it and it's located in remote location (not in my home), so I have to drive 50 km to reset/reconnect it manually First I thought OPI just froze somehow (kernel panic or so). But later I've set up heartbeat trigger on red led and it's blinking, so OPI just disconnects from eth. When I unplugged cable for a minute and plugged it in back, networking was restored and I could reach via ssh. I'd like to make some workaround for now and the simplest thing seems to be write a script and pu…

Initially I attempted upgrading the kernel from 6.1.26 to 6.1.33 using the build scripts to generate the newer kernel and headers. After rebooting I found that the system just appeared to hang around starting kernel. I did wait 10 minutes at first, thinking that perhaps their maybe some stuff going on in the background but after that conclude that it had most certainly crashed. The frustrating thing being that I did not appear to get any errors come through the debug port. At this point I assumed that perhaps something may have broke during the upgrade. My second attempt was using a completely fresh compiled image but unfortunately the result was still the same. …

Hi, I updated my image for BananPi from v5.00 (Wheezy) to the latest one (v5.16). Everything works fine, but if I run "apt-get upgrade" I get the message that the package "linux-whezzy-root-bananapi" is reserved (will not be installed). hardware-info says 6 packages to update, but I can't... Is this correct? Do I need this package to be on the latest version? What to do? Thanks. Steffen

Dear Armbian community, First of all, I am aware of the fact that what I am trying to achieve is not supported, but let me ask anyway. Receiver device is a BEM-182 Broadcast Monitor on its HDMI input - only 2 VU-meter band appears. Other test setup is the same receiver in SDI input mode with an HDMI to SDI converter. Whenever I reboot the NanoPI NEO, its GigE MAC address changes, and an random IP address is automatically allocated, via DHCP. Where can I check out the linux kernel source code for Debian Wheezy 4.4.3 (/usr/src/linux, nothing more nothing less). The reason is that I had a Gentoo system running on Cubieboard 20 with an outdated kernel, and my attempt to build a new kernel was unsuccessful. But copying kernel and modules from Debian Wheezy 4.4.3 was really successful. And I have completely rebuilt the whole Gentoo userland using the Debian Wheezy 4.4.3 kernel. Now I want to re-generate a new 4.4.3 (or newer) kernel using Gentoo genkernel command. For that I only need linux source code. I suspect that the source codes from kernel.org need special patches.

I know the A20 isn't really build for OC, but I would still like to do some tests with it running at 1008Mhz. As far as I understand Kernel 4.X doesn't use the fex files anymore, but rely on the dts (dtsi) files.
