Hi folks, A few months back, I set up an Orange Pi Prime on Armbian Bionic (Armbian_5.52.180715_Orangepiprime_Ubuntu_bionic_dev_4.18.0-rc4.7z). I'm now putting together a home automation workshop around this configuration, but it looks like it's now missing from the website (https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-prime/) and download site (https://dl.armbian.com/orangepiprime/). Is Bionic no longer supported for this board, or was this an oversight? Is there something I can do to help?

Hello, I have been looking for days without finding an answer, so here goes. I want to know if there is a way of turning on the banana pi, without using the onboard switch. Because the Banana pi r1 doesn't power on automatically when powered by the battery connector. And i don't want to solder wires on the pwr button, but i would also like to avoid using the usb connections because of the lower power throughput. Thank you in advance for the information.

Hi to all! I'm taking my first steps with an Orange Pi PC+. Before I did projects with raspberry pi, but the extra functionality provided by emmc memory has made me decant for orange pi. The latest mainline u-boot + lamobo R1 patch does not appear to work when you try dhcp or ping on a Lamobo R1 (also known as Banana Pi R1) board. I wonder if the u-boot code needs to be modified to take care of the specifics of the GMAC/switch chip on a Lamobo R1 board. The defconfig for Lamobo R1 is the same as that for Banana Pi. Please shed some light to this issue. Thanks a lot. JLu

Hello, I recently received my first orange pi. When I shutdown lite from armbian menu, yellow light does not turn off. The only way to make it turn off is remove the power plug. Is this normal? Also, I can't restart armbian by pressing the power button after shutting down. I have to unplug and plug the power cable for restart every time. Is that normal too?

Hi I need to execute some command when system is going down for halt/poweroff. I need to know this inside my script /etc/init.d/myScript which is called when system is going down. I used to do it by checking $runlevel variable and if it is set to 0, then system was going down for halt, it was working for instance in Raspbian a few years ago. However, in my Linux cubieboard2 4.9.12-sunxi Armbian this variable is not set, and when I execute "runlevel" command inside "STOP" case in myScript it says it is in N 5 runlevel which is not true because I have executed poweroff All tips are welcome Best Regards Marek

I'm using 14.04, and vanilla kernel on A20, followed the documentation for distro upgrade, but it's in endless loop: Calculating the changes Error authenticating some packages It was not possible to authenticate some packages. This may be a transient network problem. You may want to try again later. See below for a list of unauthenticated packages. module-init-tools Restoring original system state After this appears, the whole dist upgrade process restarts, and ends with the same error.

Hi, I am trying to get a led matrix to work via the SPI interface but cannot get it to work. I have enabled the interface and have an spi-device under /dev and there is a spi-module loaded. I have tried to connect MOSI and MISO to run spidev-test and everything seems to be fine but when I connect the led-matrix simply nothing happens. I can run the example-scripts from the luma-matrix library without getting an error - but there is simply nothing appearing on the matrix - however it does light up when I touch it on the backside... i have tried to use different values for param_spidev_spi_bus and param_spidev_spi_cs in a…

hi, I have an OPI pc with armbian (legacy kernel), plan to set it as NAS. due to it has 4 USB ports without internal hub, so I decide to connect 3 USB HDD to it, and create a LVM+RAID5. but unfortunately, OPI pc can only recognize 2 USB HDD(any 2 of these 3 USB hdd), at any USB ports, the 3rd USB HDD can be found by lsusb but stops at "spinning up...." no /dev/sdc. but if I insert an USB disk, (with 2 USB HDD already inserted), it can be recognized and /dev/sdc is created. I guess whether there is a power supply issue. can this be fixed by USB HDD with additional power supply? is that right?

I am getting significant graphical issues with most programs on the "Jammy Gnome desktop" version. I also saw similar issues under KDE desktop after clicking a button relating to OpenGL in the graphics settings (and couldn't figure out how to get that dialog back or undo the setting). I would prefer to stick with Gnome, I assume this issue has something to do with hardware/graphics acceleration having an issue, the application launcher seems to be immune from the issue. Sorry, I am quite a noob when it comes to Linux/programming related stuff, I couldn't find any other mentions about similar issues in this forum. The issue happens on both this 5" LCD and an HDMI TV at 4k.

Last year I started a solar-sensing project with the Orange-Pi-Zero (256k), Armbian5.25, legacy kernel and made it work after a while. The Wifi funktion was rather poor and deteriorating, so I ordered a new OpiZero-Plus2-H3, same physical shape and connectors (I thought). Now the -P2 Armbian image 5.30 for the new board loaded perfectly, the Wifi function is really improved due to better hardware. The python part of the code works (still) perfectly. Only (most of) the gpio-functions of my project do not work any more with the new board attached. I use PA07, PA13 and PA14 for bit-bang gpio and a 1-wire sensor via the kernel. I modified the OPi-P2 fex file, shipped wit…

I built an image for the `orangepi-z-2w` via `./compile.sh build BOARD=orangepizero2w BRANCH=current BUILD_DESKTOP=no BUILD_MINIMAL=no KERNEL_CONFIGURE=no RELEASE=bookworm`. Hello, my orange pi pc has recently started to have reduced speeds. Where I used to get the full 100Mbit on lan, I now get around 30Mbit, be it sftp, samba, http. Speed flanctuates a bit but stays around the 30MBit so no big differences. I am able to write with consistent speeds of over 10MB/s on the microsd so that can't be the problem (using dd) and full ~30MB/s on the attached sata disk. uname -a Linux orangepipc 3.4.113-sun8i #10 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 23 19:55:00 CET 2017 armv7l GNU/Linux Any ideas what I can check?

Dear All, I have used Igors Debian Wheezy Image for a long time and now and found nothing to complain about. Hi armbians, I was wondering how do you trigger the red LED for other devices like USB r/w or wifi tx/rx . echo mmc0 > /sys/class/leds/orangepi:red:status/trigger works like a charm for microSD r/w. I want to trigger it for my wifi interface which is "wlx0013ef6d5c23" . Any thoughts? Detailed log uploaded at http://sprunge.us/gCjP

Hi, I have recently installed latest (20) Armbian Desktop for OPi PC(+), have problems installing software from network repo (synaptic). 1). Small version problem with one of Qt5 libraries (dependency for Kadu - Polish communicator GG client), synaptic wants version 1u1, on the net there is version 1u3. Installed using wget + dpkg, now Kadu starts (at least) OK. 2). PostgreSQL problem: there is version 11 of PgSQL provided, OK, it's current production. BUT there is PgAdmin3(!) in repo, which works with at most version 9.6 of PgSQL (from PgAdmin site). Now there is PgAdmin4, but (I) cannot make it work (compile from source OK, but doesn't start)., there is N…

Hi! New to the forums, this is my first post. I've been trying out some of the pre-built Armbian images on my Orange Pi Zero to get a taste for the OS and it's perfect for my purposes, however I've noticed something odd about the current mainline images that's possibly a small oversight. I browsed the forums before posting and noticed that TV Out functionality has been disabled by default on H3-based boards due to an interference with HDMI output on mainline, which is naturally understandable. There's only one small problem - the same patch has been applied to H2+ boards which lack an HDMI Out altogether. I've explored the image currently provided (the latest …

I have set up a server on a nanopi-r2s running Armbian version 5.15.25-rockchip64. It all works fine apart from one thing: while other devices can successfully use BIND on the server, the server itself cannot find the local BIND. If I type in this command host device.localdomain 127.0.0.1 it returns the following: device.localdomain has address 192.168.0.20 192.168.0.20 is the correct address for device.localdomain from the local BIND. If I omit the 127.0.0.1 from the command, it does not find the correct address.: device.localdomain has address 36.86.63.182 device.localdomain has address 36.86.63.182 Host device.localdomain not …

Hi, I've bought Orange Pi Prime from the second hand. I've also bought 5V 3A power supply. It it was booting with Debian and Armbian. I was using Kingston SDHC cards. Suddenly my board stopped booting from mmc card. I also tried to boot it from Sandisk A1 class card but with no success. Do ypu think it is hardware malfunction or something else?

I tested the actual Xenial on my BPP but got a crashdump each time I reboot or shutdown the system. I found, that armhwinfo was causing this crash by removing the module a20_tp. Disabling the line /sbin/modprobe -r $(cut -f1 -d' ' </proc/modules) in /etc/init.d/armhwinfo avoid this problem. This line is part of a patch Thomas Kaiser introduced in October last year. I don't know, if this problem occurs only in my configuration (nothing special, but a connected Lemaker 5" LCD may be the difference), or it is related to the Kernel 3.4.113 only, but it goes reproducably wrong, if this line is active. It cause the oposite of the intention of this patch, because after…

Hey Community! I installed Armbian Jessie without any problem to SD Card. HDMI was the default screen output, and I changed to VGA with the help of this topic: http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/445-debian-images-cubietruck-vga-output-problem/ The next boot went fine, VGA works. But, after the system upgrade-update, after the reboot the screen is HDMI again. I checked the card's file system with NAND ubuntu, the output order (the 4 row) is 4-4-4-4. So, I can't understand. The VGA monitor is fine, working in the next few phase before the kernel starts, but after that: just blinking. If I connect the Samsung HDTV, the desktop present there.... Thanks for t…

Hi friends, I have read a lot document about booting orange pi zero over usb flash. I flashed latest mainline u-boot to orange pi's SPI Flash. I can boot the system via the usb port which is next to the ethernet. Can I boot the system via the usb ports USB2 and USB3 that the h2+ has and the expansion card that can use it?. I can not see these USB's through u-boot terminal. thanks.

I wanna start out and say I have been using Armbian for a year and it's been great. Thank you. I have built many images over the year and have only noticed the issue recently. I have noticed in the bionic builds for OpiZ+ that some base level packages are missing. The one I noticed was netplan. This is the new standard for bionic. I have not compiled a complete list of missing packages at this time. I had built this image before around 5.0-5.1 kernel release without issue. Netplan was included. Current build at 5.3 RC does not include this package. I suspect that others may be removed. Are these packages missing intentionall…

Hi, i have managed to install a wiring Pi version for my Orange Pi lite following this tutorial: https://gist.github.com/lanefu/f16a67195c9fa35c466c6b50cdaeadea The basic examples with inputs and outputs are working fine. Since I want to use a rotary encoder and not loose any steps I want to use a interrupt driven callback. There is an example as well but that does not work. I get: wiringPiISR: unable to open /sys/class/gpio/gpio25/value: No such file or directory I also tried several other libraries but non was working. Has anybody managed to get GPIO interrupt based callbacks working with python an an Oragnge Pi ?

So you guys that have more experience, what should I be looking at, when I find some code that runs on a Raspberry Pi to verify that it will also run on the Orange Pi PC? If I find some interesting code on Github for example . Regarding GPIO I think there shouldn't be any problem, since we have WiringOPI and that py20a or how its called. But what about i2c lcd's, max7219 matrix displays, other stuff? How does it differ the compatibility of boards between python and C code?

Hi there, I recently purchased a NanoPi NEO Air from FriendlyElec with a CAM500B module. It works alright with the mjpg-streamer and their provided Ubuntu Core. I built an Arabian 5.27 Nano Pi Air Debian Jessie image with the default kernel and the device is no longer found. I've forced the load of ov5640 and vfe_v4l2 in /etc/modules, but /dev/video0 isn't appearing. The kernel log has this in it when the module is loaded: [ 116.519650] [OV5640@lex]init_sensor - frame_rate: 0, max_win_size: 11 If I boot back to Ubuntu Core via SD, the camera is back.

Hi, so without knowing what the swappiness actually is I changed the value from 100 to 512. Since then, I can't boot my Banana Pi M2 Zero. Shortly after that, I remembered again: swappiness is the percentage of how often to use swap and not the maximum amount of storage. Can I repair it inside uboot? I recently ordered 3 A20-OLinuXino-LIME2-e16GB devices (with 16GB eMMC) and received rev. K boards. Like whaaaaaa... Okay, so long and frustrating story short, I have been having inexplicable stability issues on my Banana Pro. I have blamed the SD card, the power supply, the micro USB cable, but none of those leads seemed to actually lead anywhere. I connected up a Fluke multimeter to the SATA power output, set to peak min mode, to see if I get any undervolting... Nope, no problem there. I ran stress tests on my sd card on my computer - it was PERFECT. I was completely stumped... Until, after getting an Anker charging cable, and having a really good run with the new Armbian release - the system had been working for an hour without glitches, apt-get worked, I hav…

I've been following instructions posted at different sites (here's one - https://dev.webonomic.nl/connecting-to-a-raspberry-pi-zero-with-just-an-usb-cable-i) and I can get it to work via my desktop (with Debian) and a Raspberry Pi Zero and between RPI3 and RPI0, but can't seem to get it to work between NanoPi Duo and RPI0. Of course, I don't have a desktop on the NanoPi Duo, so everything has to be done via command line.
