hi, I am th owner of a lamobo r1 card. Last days i'have tried more than 10 debian/bananian/ubuntu/raspian/openwrt image. Most of them work fine. Community image are often better than sinovoip one ... Unfortunatly, my sata HDD never work. I'm using a seagate 1TB SSHD. I currently using the armbian ubuntu image. At boot, the hdd spin up and stop, and ubuntu don't boot. If I remove the HDD everthing work fine. Anybody have a working hdd using the micro usb power port ? I use an ipad charger and a good one meter usb cable. Any help is greatly appreciated. If I should provide more details, please let me know Thanks agemio

  2. Hi forum, I ran an apt-get upgrade a few days back and here linux-image-current-sunxi:armhf was updated from 21.05.6 to 21.08.2 After reboot my SATA was gone. There was nothing in the logs which would have indicated that something is wrong. After I reverted back to 21.05.6 apt-get install linux-image-current-sunxi=21.05.6 apt-get install armbian-firmware=21.05.8 apt-get install linux-dtb-current-sunxi=21.05.6 everything worked again. Has anyone experienced something similar ? Regards Volker

Hello Community, I have a (hopefully) quick question about the SATA port on my Bananapi. I wanted to attach a msata card via adapter to my Bananapi, like I already do on my Cubietruck. However when I start look for the msata drive it does not show up. However when I double check the drive via a USB SATA adapter the drive does show up. Could someone please tell me what is going ? Thx, blub4747

  7. After having my old debian (wheezy? or jessy?) unbootable from systemd update I decided to clean install. Having gotten a good Power supply, an A1 Speed 10 SD card, etcher image, and armbian debian 20.08 (also tried 20.07), The board boots (Welcome to armbian) up to "network interfaces up) - then the screen goes blank/black, and I get the green led heardbeat (slow blinking) for a while. Pushing power again the board shuts down (green LED blinking rapidly for a moment, then red power LED comes off). I have had installed boot to nand / Sata disk before but all that shouldn't matter I think because the boot from SD Card seems successful - why could it be th…

  10. Looking for recommended LCD screens for NanoPi Neo and Orange Pi Zero. I have some IoT ideas I want to explore. Does not have to be touch, and I'm pretty flexible on screen size. Actually, would like a couple of different screen sizes but bigger than an 128x64 OLED (I have that). Must be color. At least 320x240, preferably something 320x480. I just got two Orange Pi Zero systems today and want to create a couple of IoT devices along with the two NanoPi Neo systems I got recently. Performance does NOT have to be ideal, just reasonable (not going to game on it or watch action movies). The Zero means HDMI is not an option; given that, what interface is best - …

I wanted to make a try on a 64 gb card and burn the image on it, I think something went wrong, but now I cannot format or burn anything on the SD card, it says that the media is write protected. I tried to wipe out using parted or some tutos I saw creating an additional Registry key, but nothing worked ! Is my SD broken ? Thanks Greg

  14. The topic is no longer new, but I have not found the reason and its solution! If you turn off the power (just pull out the wire) then you can get a non-working system. As I noticed, the files opened at the time of launch are broken. And some files such as /etc/boot/armbianEnv.txt in general, they are recorded with some kind of garbage!!! Because of this, your settings fly off! For example, I use ttys1 and this option is registered armbianEnv.txt , but after the power loss, there is just terrible garbage in this file, as if the memory dump fell there!!! For example, I still use dotnet, so it also breaks down and does not start anymore!! When y…

Hi Armbians, I'm running two identical Cubietrucks with Armbian Jessie systems in headless (very lean) mode without any X-Windows or the like. Both boot from 16GB SD-Cards. Now one of them, which had encountered a number of power failures, suddenly ran out of space on the SD-Card (100% usage of / ), while the other CT only shows 22%. I ran across this phenomenon, when the system failed to carry out an apt-get update at one point and important services Samba were no longer started. I then searched the root filesystem for culprits but there was nothing suspicious ... So I thought there might be a partial "destruction" of the fil…

  42. So I'm pretty new at using serial ports in linux so not even sure if this is the right place. I'm playing around with MIDI using the serial ports on the Orange PiLite - it uses the baud rate of 31250 to achieve this you use setserial to get the base_baud (which it reports as 1500000) and you divide by the speed you want to get the divisor i.e. 1500000/31250 = 48 this becomes >setserial /dev/ttyS1 divisor 48 speed_cust So now when you use 38400 as your baud speed it actually becomes 31250.... ...in theory after some fiddling I found the divsor is actually 50 as 48 gives you weird results which would suggest that the base_baud is actually 1562…

Hi, Before I start, I want to thank the developers for making great products. I am fairly new to SBCs, but unlike the official images, Armbian works great on my OP plus 2E. I have recently bough a OP zero+ H5, but as it lacks ethernet, I can't set it up. Is there a way (like raspbian) to set up wifi on the sd card after i burn the image on to it?

One USB disk, 4TB with a single ext4 partition mounted (hdc1). One SATA SSD disk with a single ext4 partition unmounted (hda1). Several aesthetic considerations: After the upgrade, reboot and login, the welcome screen and 100% battery!!! Hurrah!!! It seems that the MMC is 9% occupancy and ... oh! my hdb disk has only one partition? ah no, only reads hdb1. And the other two disks? I have two mounted partitions but only shows one. 52. The MAC address of your wifi port on your Orange Pi Zero probably starts with C8:27:A7:F9:xx:xx I obsfucated the last 4 digits of mine. The Ethernet Port MAC starts with : de:ae:b8:d7:xx:xx I needed this when I was trying to find the device on my network to SSH in. root/1234 It showed up on my network as a reasonably "fast" device with 0ms lag. I'm running a Cat 6 network with a gigabit switch. A nice pinout that Linux34 from Orange Pi posted.

  53. Hi there. I want to use a push button on a GPIO to shutdown O Pi Zero safely. Though the acpid way runs fine on an O Pi One, I wonder if there is a way to make it work on a O Pi Zero. Please direct me if its documented somewhere already. Thanks

  54. Hi, I am trying to use an Orange Pi Zero as a headless music player running MPD connected to a USB DAC. I have everything set up and it works well, but now I would like to add a momentary push button connected to a gpio pin to enable me to soft shutdown the Orange Pi Zero. I've done the same with python scripts that I've found in the Rune Audio forum (which runs on Arch Linux) for the Raspberry Pi, but I understand that the Pi Zero pins are different from the Raspberry Pi. This is the script I used on the Raspberry Pi #!/usr/bin/env python2 import RPi.GPIO as GPIO import time import subprocess GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BOARD) #Select unused GPIO header pin…

  55. I have two Orange PI +2E machines. The first one I got was a while ago so it's running a 3.4.113 kernel (16.04), the more recent one I purchased is running 4.19.13 kernel (18.04) - both are Ubuntu Armbian. I've noticed when I use the "shutdown now" command on the older pi, the board actually powers off but when I use the same command on the newer kernel board, it never powers down. The newer board appears to stop all services and eventually report that the system is halted but it remains in that state. Is there a way to enable it to power off after a "shutdown now" is issued? I'm wondering if this is a kernel difference but it may be something else completely. …

  56. Sometimes it's unclear if my Nanopi NEO2 is still running, or fully locked up / FUBAR. Ping and SSH give no result. As there is no HDMI, I have no way to check if it's still there. So I was thinking: can I let the green LED flash each x seconds as a sign of life? Quote from Igor: "Both are accessible via sysfs, green is configurable while blue is not lit and reacting to anything. ". So a crontab script that writes something to /sys/ <LED> ... ? Feedback appreciated.

  58. Maybe this is not strictly related to Orange Pi PC but a few weeks ago I had problems with booting my device - mainly OpenELEC and I had to debug it somehow using serial port and the terminal. Unfortunately my PC is rather far from the place where I keep OPiPC. So I was forced to prepare separate device - cheap STM32 MCU based terminal display with 2.2" LCD screen directly supplied from Orange Pi PC 3.3V. It can be used also with other devices which allow serial console debugging. Watch below videos for more details and the code: Maybe someone finds it useful.

  59. I have an OrangePi Plus. I downloaded and installed "Armbian_5.25_Orangepiplus_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113.7z" (actually, I installed the image file from inside that archive) onto a micro-SD/TF card (16GB) and managed to get it to talk to my monitor (thanks, armbian, for "h3disp"). I searched the web, and this forum, for instructions on how to install a graphical desktop on top of the particular Ubuntu Xenial flavor and found nothing I could make sense of. When researching H61X based boards for the Zero 2 and Zero 3 development we were doing in another thread, I found the Sipeed LonganPi 3H, which is a relatively new board that took a while to find. It was shipped quickly in a nice quality hard plastic storage case and.. best of all.. it has two hardware buttons.. so I can rese…

  68. Old post below, here is what I found out thanks to some help from linux-sunxi IRC, I think this is a bug in the ondemand governor When using ASIX AX88772B USB to ethernet adapter and the cpu-governor is on ondemand, transfer speed is very slow. If governor is set to conservative or performance (yes that's right) speed is ok, 50 Mbit at least. So the problem has nothing to do with cpu speed as such (it's working @ steady 480Mhz and @ steady 1200Mhz) for now I'll stick with conservative as I don't want my board to burn up, but It would be nice if someone could take a look at that ondemand governor. I'm using armbianmonitor to "-m" monitor the machine and I notice that the temps are always pretty hot. Even at idle (480MHz) it still shows 72C. That seems higher than I would have expected. 99. Started by Dauren,

Good day, We use NanoPi Neo Core in voice information systems. We found a problem with the implementation of Dynamic Audio Power Management for Portable Devices in H3. Our program plays voice files using the standard call of the operating system - "aplay". Before starting the reproduction of each file the voltage is discharged and restored at the output of the DAC. This leads to a loud click on the output of the audio system. Setting pmdown_time = -1 does not save the situation. Can you help in solving this problem? P.S. This problem appeared in version 4 of the kernel.

  100. Good evening. I am preparing an Orange PI Plus 2 in order to be the first computer for my 8 years old son. The idea is that he could learn Scratch by watching some video tutorials in YouTube The problem is that actually, if you pause a video, and the you want for it to restart, only video does it. Sound doesn't starts again. It remains muted. Then, if you click to watch another video, sound come back. But you loose it again if this second video is also paused. It's a bit annoying. Do you have the same issue ? Best regard. Maesstrissimo.
