I have heatsinks and fan on the pi so I don't think it's about throttling. I think this CPU is insufficient for this task.

  50. Hello After a couple of years, I took my "ancient" OrangePi board and found it working well with Ubuntu 18.04 (kernel 3.14.113). And I even did distr update to 20.04. So HW is ok. I found that Armibian support status of OrangiPi is changed to "Supported" and decided to try the latest image with modern kernel "Armbian_21.02.1_Bananapi_focal_current_5.10.12_desktop.img.xz" (shared image between OrangePi and BananaPi). XFCE desktop was loaded but USB was not working. And that was the known mismatch between OrangePi and BananaPi HW conguration. So I updated "/boot/armbianEnv.txt" with "fdtfile=sun7i-a20-orangepi.dtb". But after that video became OFF…

After watching a video tutorial on youtube I have attempted to use the build scripts to create a newer image for my Pcduino V2. I had been initially using an image that I found on the archives which uses kernel 4.14, this worked fine for the most part apart from shutting down which would fail 9/10 to shutdown normally. the only way I could ensure that it would shutdown was to do poweroff -f otherwise it just went into a state where most things such as the wifi and usbs would no longer be detected and i was greeted with the message failed to reach target.poweroff. from what I could find out about the issue suggested that it was some kind of issue with systemd, but I could …

  54. Hi all, Today my second OPi arrived, a +2E. I already have an OPi PC which is working like a charm. So I ordered a +2E as well. I have an older monitor (Dell 2007WFP) with DVI connector and a native resolution of 1680x1050. From previous experience from the OPi PC, I know that I had to run the 'h3disp' tool to set up this resolution and to make it work via an HDMI-DVI cable. So I connected my new +2E through a normal HDMI cable to my 1080p TV, installed Armbian (Jessie desktop, with legacy kernel), updated to the latest release through 'apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade' and after a reboot ran 'h3disp -m 36 -d', just as I had with the OPi PC. 56. Hi, I seem to be unable to create a working image for my Orange Pi PC+ with a 4.x kernel (I want to use Docker). I had a working 4.7.3 install but a recent (this week) apt-get upgrade installed a 4.8.x kernel (and probably a u-boot) after which my Opi PC+ will not boot anymore (my home-router shows the opi for a short time but it disappears before I can do a ssh to the Opi PC+). None of the images I have or create with a 4.x kernel seem to want to work. Only the 3.4.112 images that I download will work. 59. I've noticed that Armbian builds are taking a really long time to power up on Orange Pi PC and Orange Pi One. Is there some way I can see what's going on in the bootloader that's causing these long delays? Also, if I run apt-get dist-upgrade and take the latest kernel, it never boots after that point. I think something's wrong with the boot sector (or whatever it is) that is written/updated on the SDCard. The Orange Pi power LEDs don't light up until the bootloader successfully finds an OS on the SDCard. All of the builds over at orangepi.org work just fine but the Armbian ones aren't working right. I'm using a diverse collection of very high-quality SDC…

  63. Hi! I use this board since jun/2019 with Armbian 5.90 and kernel 5.1.15 (all OK except HDMI audio). In these 6 months tried to update kernel image few times, 5.2.x some months ago and now 5.5.0, but not more 1920x1080 support, the maximum is 1280x1024. Xrandr not show as supported mode anymore, whats happen? This is related to u-boot? I think can not read EDID, because no monitor model name is shown. Another question is, now in 5.5.x I can see HDMI audio device, but still can't listen, what left to be developed?

Allwinner video HW decoding on A10/A20 using VDPAU and GLES zero-copy support for Linux There is (unofficial) support available for video HW decoding and embedding the video zero-copy via GLES within Kodi using libvdpau-sunxi and VDPAU, i.e. unlike the kodi support from rella/empatzero/others the GLES layering (video overlays) do work completely in this implementation. Additionally my driver implementation supports DivX/XVID/MS-MPEG and has sprite support for MPEG-4 over the official libvdpau-sunxi implementation. Additionally there is HW JPEG decoding support available in Kodi too, e.g. watching photos these get decoded via the Allwinner HW. (unluckily pic thumbnails…

  91. Hello, I’m from Russia, I don’t speak English well, I write a translator through Google, I hope you will understand me. My Orange Pi One Plus H6 installed different Armbian image 5.3.9 the system works well, but there is no sound via HDMI, in the pulseaudio tab of the configuration menu it says "there are no cards available for configuration". Did I understand correctly that the H6 processor does not support the audio codec, so there is no sound, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for the answer.

Hi guys! I have some trouble with my Lime 2. My original setup: Armbian 5.38 +4.14.18-sunxi software installed: Pihole V3.0 with dnsmasq dhcp enabled. SD : a fresh Samsung Micro SDHC 32GB EVO power-supply : a 5V power-supply adaptor Current behaviour: After [1~4] days the my board disapear of my network. With dnsmasq dhcp server disabled, there are no problème. My guess: their are some troubles between the dhcp and Armbian. Indeed in tried to setup a isc-dhcp-server to remplace the Pihole dhcp without success. (Same behaviour) You could see my search on Pihole forum here …

Hi to All, I decided to start this new tread for searching of the best solution for unification of the boot process from any available media. Main target is Armbian next and development branches and mainline Kernel and U-Boot. Boot device can be eMMC, SD/MMC, USB Flash/HDD and SATA HDD/SSD probed in given order. In case of booting from eMMC, SD/MMC and USB Flash Read-Only Root FS can be used optionally. In case of booting from SD/MMC or USB Flash eMMC and / or SATA devices can be updated automatically. Some effort in this direction was done by me and described in Armbian Customization thread. The tests was done on Olimex' A20-Olimexino-Lime2-eMMC (HW rev. …

  95. Hi there, this is continuation of my previous thread about problems with my OPiPC+. 1). "OOB" Armbian Buster, looks working OK, not "ported" all soft / configs from another one. 2). Armbian Jessie upgraded up to Buster, mainly for mosquitto, OpenHAB2, PostgreSQL 11 (for logical replication). Now I have copied everything (only different UUIDS) from working /boot directory to the one with problems. (kernel, initrd, etc). What I do not understand, is fact, that on "good" HTOP shows 4 cores, on "bad" one only 1 core, performance is horrible (OpenHAB startup in minutes). OpenHab (I suspect) can cause whole system to hang - ping works but no…

  96. good morning everyone, I installed Armbian 23.02.2 on orangepizero about a year ago without ever having a problem . Today it suddenly stopped booting and I can't get it to start again and that's what I'm interested in, also possibly to recover internal docker configurations. The orangepizero is powered by a 3A power supply under UPS and properly cooled, if I use the latest release on a new SD it works perfectly, so I think it is not a hardware problem. The SD with Armbian 23.02.2 is not corrupted and I can read every part of it. Does anyone know any tricks to get it running again?

  97. Hi, I have a Opi zero 512 and did a fresh install Debian Buster with Armbian Linux 4.19.59-sunxi I installes the Linux-Kernel but I run into problems with compiling a driver. outdoorpi@orangepizero:~/usb-redirector-linux-armeb-gnueabihf/files/modules/src/tusbd$ sudo make KERNELDIR=/usr/src/linux-source-4.19.57-sunxi64 make -C /usr/src/linux-source-4.19.57-sunxi64 M=/home/outdoorpi/usb-redirector-linux-armeb-gnueabihf/files/modules/src/tusbd modules make[1]: Entering directory '/usr/src/linux-source-4.19.57-sunxi64' CC [M] /home/outdoorpi/usb-redirector-linux-armeb-gnueabihf/files/modules/src/tusbd/driver.o /bin/sh: 1: scripts/basic/fi…

Hello everybody, the images from armbian for my Orange Pi 3 work very fine and stable. Thank you for that. I came to armbian by links form orangepi.org. When I tried to get an Android image from there I got an Xutuntu image. (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Urh9-yljq9Mrrafp7ZWRVf_s_AdjUoTQ) Do you know where to get an Android for my Orange Pi 3? Thanks if you have information for me about that.

  99. Hi, Nanopi M1 is so similar to Orange Pi One that you can use the amazing work provided by jernejsk and run Openelec using the VPU of the H3. Here are the links : * Main page * prebuilt images list * Github project * The issue I've opened I'm using the embedded IR Sensor with my remote (that was the toughest part) and the only modification I made was to change to cpufreq governor from performance to conservative but if you use the latest image you shouldn't have to do that. Well so far so good. I'm using a little heat sink and the cpu temperature is between 60°C and 80°C depending of the video I'm playing.

Hello! I could find quite a bit of information about the analog video output for OrangePi Zero 2W on Armbian under Ubuntu. On Android TV-OUT works. Are there any plans to add this feature to Armbian? It is very critical for me. If no one plans to do this now, then I would be extremely grateful for advice from experts on how to port / modify existing drivers, perhaps take something from the AndroidTV 12 code, where the video output works? I am a developer, but I have not previously dealt with driver development for Linux, but if I understand in which direction to act, then using ChatGPT sooner or later I should be able to cope. I would be very grateful for any he…
