Hello I use a ondroid c2 with armbian jammy. Sometimes it hangs/freeze (i don't know what happends correctly....) I can't connect it via ssh. And if i connect it on hdmi port, i don't get any screen..... So i read the syslogs and journalctl..... Mostly i can`t see what happens. but today i see it and im wondering why some service try to run.... I had install motioneye and vncserver, but i tried to uninstall this for a long time...... today in the logs is a red line, that the services tried to run. how can i remove this fully????? So I need to know what I have to do to get MIDI messages into my music app that I'm working on. I developed a cli synth app on Manjaro using SDL3 and Jack. Jack I used to connect to MIDI aka 'MIDI-Bridge' or MIDI Through and an external program to produce MIDI messages sent to MIDI Through. I am running 22.11 Jammy Gnome on my Orange Pi 5. Everything works great, except for 1 thing. The monitor is not turning off after a period of inactivity. I have the screen blank setting in the power screen set to 5 mins. Also, the screen dimming is not working. I have the switch set to "on" for dim screen after inactivity. Anyone know how to fix this?

I have an Odroid HC1 I'm trying to install Armbian 22.11 Bullseye (Armbian_22.11.1_Odroidxu4_bullseye_current_5.4.225.img) on and on first boot I can see it grab an IP on my network etc, however when I try to SSH I get "Connection Refused". The HC1 has no video output so SSH is sorely needed here. As a test I flashed Armbian 22.11 Jammy (Armbian_22.11.1_Odroidxu4_jammy_current_5.4.225.img) to the SDCard, booted it and was able to SSH to it just fine so it's not hardware/network related. I need Bullseye to install openmediavault. Anyone have ideas?

Hi, I am testing armbian with openhab on odroid C4. Sometimes it can be handy to login via Remote desktop to my machine. I enabled RDP through armbian -config, but I can not remote desktop to the machine. When i connect trough renmina or windows rdp, i get the xrdp login screen, but when i enter user and pasword, i get thrown out of the programm, be it srenmina or windows remote desktop. So the problem seems to be on the armbian side. Any suggestions where to look to fix shis? Armbian version 22.11.1 running on odroid C4. Thks in advance

I'm using Bluetouch in my iPhone as a bluetooth mouse (rarely when needed) for my OrangePi/Armbian/Kodi setup. All fine with that… except… with my iPhone paired to the OrangePi, it also connects all its audio to the OrangePi, *all the time* when in range, unless I completely disable bluetooth from the iPhone. So, what i have: orangepi5max, https://github.com/armbian/build.git this armbian, https://github.com/rockchip-linux/kernel.git and this kernel, which is placed in armbian-build/kernel. I've tried to use "userpatches/linux-$LINUXFAMILY-$BRANCH.config" config from armbian manual, to specify path to kernel, but despite the fact that manual states, that my custom config should replace the default one, ./compile.sh ignores it. Good morning. I have installed Armbian Bullseye (first file in this webpage: https://armbian.site-meganet.com/dl/rockpi-4b/archive/) on a Radxa ROCK Pi 4 SE. After that I ran armbian-config and navigated to the Default section to install Cinnamon Desktop. Apparently the installation completes successfully and then coes back to the CLI. Now I am trying to start the desktop environment and I am unable to. I have tried rebooting but it just goes to the CLI. Do I need to run a command like 'startx'? (startx is not working) Thank you.

When using X11VNC in SBC without a connected display, everything works well on some assemblies and the screen resolution is 1024 x 768. But I could change that in xorg.conf. But now, either in kernel 6.x.x, or in bookworm, I have a 720x576 composite video output resolution, since HDMI is not connected. I did install an apt install nfs-kernel-server nfs-common on my bananaPi M1. I did export some dirs and successfully mounted them from my clients. After a reboot the mounts did not work. Then I manually invoked exportfs -a and the client were able to mount. What is the correct way to get the nfs server started after a reboot?

after i disconnect from ssh of opiz and wait a few hours, after trying to connect nothing happens for ~10 seconds (no network packets from opiz), but after waiting it starts responding and then it works fine until i disconnect and wait again. this is present on opiz in debian armbian 08.23, 11.23, bleeding edge build from yesterday. this is not present on opi pc+ in build 11.23. this doesn't affect any other network services, only affects ssh.

I need to install some stuff on armbian system, which is installed on SD card and it runs on Orangepi PC board. It includes some sripts, Python libraries, etc and some of them require to be compiled on the fly, and it takes several hours when running on Orange PI. So my idea is to mount SD card on PC and run/chroot into installed system with qemu on Linux. So I will get much better performance and all neccesary steps will be performed much faster. Is it even possible to do that? After installation finishes, SD card will be again used to operate on OrangePI PC board.

I have a old Armbian 21.08.1 Buster on a NanoPi NEO and I like to get it fixed. I can only see what is going on though the Serial port on it. It boots up with a lot of things missing. i have 2 USB LTE modems (quectel ec25) and i most of the time i get "wwan0" (modem 0) and "wwan1" (modem 1) network interface names, but sometimes they switch to "wwan0" (modem 1) and "wwan1" (modem 0), sometimes i get "wwx*" interface name on one of them and "wwan1" on the other, this is very sad ;(. So I am following instructions for how to install Kiauh on Arbmian. I am using a terminal on my PC through PuTTY. I have cloned the Kiauh files to my device successfully, I have verified they are there, but whenever I try to run the shell using sh ./kiauh/kiauh.sh I get the response 'unknown': I need something more specific. In the official Armbian Radxa Rock 5C Gnome image (nobel) the WiFi hardware is detected, but in the server image (nobel) the WiFi hardware is not detected. Edit. I see I can use WiFi in armbian-config, but it does not show up in gnome on the server image.

Not sure why but after sudo update Kodi.bin disappeared was getting an error kodi.bin not found I was trying to reinstall it with sudo apt Iinstall Kodi, but I was still getting the same error. Until I discover that I had to run command Sudo apt install kodi-bin This worked.

I have been running Armbian on a Pinebook Pro without issues. I use the stable distribution, but after an update about a week ago (I think) the Panfrost driver has stopped working. Hello, I encounted an issue with chromium. By default, armbian has PSD (profile-sync-deamon) enabled, and when chromium started, it links the profile dir (~/.config/chromium) to /run/user/1000/chromium-user However, it breaks the cookies. If I reboot the box, and start chromium to visit a website I logged in, the login session was lost. I took me much time to understand the reason, finally I found it's the symbolic link. I am trying to connect to my armbian install (on an orange pi 4 LTS) from OSX (with Xquartz) to run the mythtv backend setup. I didn't install the desktop version of armbian; just the base version, and with the image for this model of pi. connecting by SSH is not a problem, I happily get through. Hi, I'm using an old Odroid-C2 with Armbian as server with PHP/mysql as test setup for some communication and using a previous used php script to upload a photo which uses imagick for some resizing. The script is ok, I used it before on a different server. How do I install Imagick, it seems not to work using the installation method from source as mentioned on https://imagemagick.org/script/install-source.php Anyone experience with how to install it on armbian? I installed Waydroid on an Amlogic Meson GXM (S912) TV box. The SOC has a Mali-T820 GPU, and the box has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of eMMC. This was easy to do and Waydroid worked, but it was very slow, even before it heated the SOC to 80°C, which is probably its throttling limit. I removed Waydroid because it was too slow. I wasn't trying anything demanding. Even navigating Android Settings was ridiculously slow. This is a bit surprising because the hardware was designed for running Android. Basic tool to change screen orientation and its touch input on gnome wayland desktops. Built for Gnome Wayland and displays without automatic touch input rotation after orientation change. Sadly xrandr and xinput are things of the past in times of wayland. And since I mounted a FHD touchscreen to my rock-5b which can be rotated, this caused some trouble for me. Mabye useful fur other people mounting displays with touch support on their SBC's in crazy spots 😛 Basically it's just a combination of gnome-randr.py and creating a udev rule with calibration matrix. Armbian Imager Update ends up treating onboard microSD card as system drive. Is it possible to make onboard sd card program as a system drive by changing the setting to allow system drives. However it still exposes newbie to possible risk of ending up the SSD. Please keep SD card slot as an exception to be treated as system drive.

Hello I wanted to post on here regarding a new project we have been working on called SimpNAS. Its similar to OpenMediaVault or FreeNAS but simpler and more basic. Its currently in Beta but we are looking to have a stable release by the time Kobol ARM NAS gets released. It can be installed on armbian devices as long as it has two hard drives one for the OS and one for Data. For example we have it installed on an ODroid HC2, but can be installed on any PC. Feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I have compiled labwc and it works great with my orange pi zero 3, with bookworm or trixie... but I can't figure out how to configure a wayland greeter. I need to do this because my LCD driver can't work with X11 (panel-mipi-dbi-spi).

I think I have everything setup, nm even says its connected, but isn't. With about 15 entries in FQDN format in the /etc/hosts file, and the hostname set to whats before the first dot of one of the entries, ip a still doesn't show an ipv4 address. and ip r is an empty return. What all do I need to set?, it all looks kosher to me.

Hello, I downloaded recent Armbian image for Orange Pi PC Plus - 23.05.1. When I run it, the screen resolution is 720x576 and virtual resolution 1024x768. I changed armbianEnv.txt - defined disp_mode=1280x800p60 (this is what I need) and also used fbset command in my application and it works in most cases, but sometimes after system restart the screen resolution is the default (720x576) and can't be changed - I get error - "ioctl FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO: Invalid argument". Hi all, I decided today to give an Armbian build a whirl as a virtual machine (guest). In particular, Armbian_24.2.4_Uefi-x86_jammy_current_6.6.21_kde-neon_desktop.img. As is usual with installing a virtual machine, it comes up with a default video resolution of 1024x768; I can usually quickly get it full screen on my system as 1920x1080 by going to the System Settings : Hardware : Display and Monitor : etc. However, here there is no hardware subsection at all, and a search didn't turn up a setting to change the display. I just bought this PINE64 board. I flashed the ARMbian GNOME Desktop OS image into an SD card, in order to boot into the board. I already tried to set up an OpenVPN server using this guide (tested with another Ubuntu machine, it worked) but for some reason this does not work using the PINE64 board. All the steps seems to complete successful and the VPN server seems to be up and running, passed the ovpn file to the client user but when the user try to connect to the VPN network the log messages from the VPN client always said "Server poll timeout..." and, of course, the connection never happen. Which could be the problem? Am I missing something for this set up ?

My system boots from EMMC and the entire system is on EMMC. I make a nightly clone of the entire system to an SD card for backup purposes. For some reason the system sees both the EMMC and the SD when I try to boot it from the clone, and chooses the EMMC. Is there a way to force the system to boot from the SD card?

I can start non-GUI apps with systemctl service files, and they run with the proper user permissions... and I don't worry about giving it root access. But I would like to do the same with GUI apps. They would be full screen, 320x240 on the LCD TFT. Does anyone know how a do-release-upgrade affect an Armbian 24.8.3 installation? Had anyone upgraded to the 24.04.1 LTS release of Ubuntu? Any gotyas when upgrading? Things to do and things to avoid? What changes to allow and which to deny? I've done a release upgrade once, it took a long time and questions were asked and options presented suring the release upgrade process. After update my BPi M2+ to Armbian 23.02.2 Focal with Linux 5.15.93-sunxi, the network is complett fucked up! /etc/network/interfaces (my default settings for my LAN and networksettings) is now ignored. armbian-config can only setup LO and it is even not saved after changing DNS IP. The device name is changed from eth0 to end0 (without any warnings!!!). The network settings are now only throu DHCP. that's not what I want! Every changes are ignored! Hi I can access my nextcloud in the firefox browser, but the client always states "signed out". From time to time there is a request in the browser to confirm access of the client to the nextcloud server. Howeveer, this doesn't seem to work. I guess, I should add an online account (in Preferences). But there is no button to "Add account" shown. Do you have a hint to a missing package ? I am out of ideas how to solve it.
