I've also tested bgr or mode args during modprobe without any results I attach a photo of the display running glxgears with kernel module loaded as follow modprobe fbtft_device custom na…

Hello people, I am interested in designing a cooler for OPI Zero and OPI LIte. Next is the formula of calculus: I am NOT able to find next parameters: T_Jmax = this is the DIE(microprocessor) wanted temperature ---> is this 30-40 degrees best temperature for OPI for well functioning in parameters? P_DMAX = power that is generated by the losses of OPI Zero board and OPI Lite board. Q_jc = thermal resistance between DIE(microcontroller) and case Can please someone help? Thanks.

  4. Hello, I am talking strictly about GPIO's value and mode at reset. Under "sudo gpio readall" of H3 core (OPI Lite) I can see that ALL GPIO pins are 0V with different alternative mode functions. Under H3 core (OPI Lite) datasheet 1.2 says that value PC3 and PC4 GPIOs are pulled up? This are in contradiction! Did anyone measured the H3 core GPIOs value? Does H3 core has any pin of pulled-up mode during the reset time of the controller? Please help.

  6. I have a small C program where a GPIO pin on Orange Pi is polled using digitalRead. It works fine and detects HIGH and LOW as expected. When I put a dupont wire with nothing connected at the other end (ie. just extend the GPIO pin) digitalRead starts registering intermittent HIGHs and LOWs wildly. What the heck am I seeing? I have a Raspberry 3 nearby and it does not show this phenomenom. Using digitalWrite on the pin works as expected.

Playing with freshly installed/updated armbian, tried to compile "patched" realtek drivers for those weird realtek 81xx things. Bumped error: ./scripts/recordsmcount not found Go to /usr/src/linux-headers-whatever-version-4.x/scripts then, sudo make recordmcount After this even DKMS version installed/build without any issues. Not sure I will survive next kernel update without manual intervention with this "make", but anyway, it worked for me.

Hi, I ran into an issue when configuring ssh. As it seems, ssh listens only to the first interface that is enabled (it seems it is always eth0). Probably, if I set a listen to 192.168.x.x in the config file of the sshd (same as the IP set in the wlan0), and a different network on the ethernet, it would work, but as I won't be using ethernet I would rather disable it completly. I tried already ifdown, ifconfig down, ifconfig eth0 down && rmmod -f sunxi_gmac, and some others. I even tried removing nmtui just to check if that was causing the problem. all what that step does is removing the bond0 interface (something I would like to do too). I checke…

You can read sensor memory without triggering temperature conversion using the first one and you can trigger the temperature conversion on all sensors (implemented using "skip ROM") with the second one. I needed this modification to speed up sensor reading. Now I start temperature measurement on all sensors (it takes 750ms on 18B20) and then read the results. Earlier reading sensor (using w1_slave) required 750+ms for each sensor. Here is the result for my 10sensors 1wire network (using the usual w1_slave required 8.5sec, with new feature…

  30. I am aware that the Raspberry Pi 1, 2,3 can transmit Radio waves on GPIO pin 4 and 18. There are even special skins that filter the output. " Previously we posted about the Raspberry Pi’s ability to modulate one of its pins to produce FM transmissions with PiFM. A developer (F5OEO) has recently expanded on this idea, and now the Raspberry Pi is capable of modulating and transmitting FM, AM, SSB, SSTV and FSQ signals anywhere between 130 kHz to 750 MHz. To transmit with the Raspberry Pi all you need to do is plug in a wire antenna to Pin 12 (GPIO 18) on the GPIO port and run the PiTx software by piping in an audio file or image for SSTV. " …

So I'm searching for suitable SBC: - quite small (50x50mm max), IoT category I think - with H3, at least 512MB RAM - eMMC at least 4GB, SD Cards support - 1 USB for pendrive - wifi in AP mode, just for ssh and copying small files via scp - second UART, freen 2xGPIO, and nice to have audio line-out also - and the most important: running Armbian in headless mode with booting from eMMC - working DVFS to keep temperature in lower levels, no heat dissipation problems (SBC will mostly work with low cpu usage, but I don't really know how low can be CPU/DRAM clock…

Hi, In order to secure my BPi-R1 I want to install a firewall on top of armbian. So please, no tipps for complete 'firewall distribution like IPcop, IPfire'. So I thought about, what is necessary to protect 'my cloud', which may be not the first interest for a hacker. My test candidates: Open Edgewize Shorewall ConfigServer Security & Firewall (csf) iptables (do it on your own) I collected some information of their functions, but I don't know what is crucial. Application Layer Filtering Just managing your network by port numbers and ip addresses is no longer sufficient. Right now, I have 6 1080p IP cameras recording 5 fps 1024 kbs bit rate in a raspberry pi 2 with raspbian and a edimax 7811 wifi. 3 cameras record over ftp. 3 cameras record by shell scripts using ffmpeg only copy not transcode. I like better bandwidth and if possible hardware decode 1080p for streaming online Videos. Thank you for your time.

  62. Hi, thanks to this tutorial: I was able to add optical S/PDIF module to my orange pi zero plus 2 h3 - It works But I noticed the the every time when a sound is played it causes the SPDIF output on the OPI to initialise (switch on the red light) which takes about 1-2 seconds, after the sound has finished the SPDIF output goes back to sleep (switch off the red light). As a result on every new audio that is played the first 1-2 second is lost off This is not a problem if I'm listening radio but in case of quick phrases spoken by the synthesizer(my case) this is a real problem. Is there any way to keep S/PDIF …

  63. Hello. I just got the board to play with, but I can't find any specific documentation on how to build a specific image to such board. After researching on google, foruns, etc. I've found some *mentions* on using the bananapim2 config and build (since they use the same core), but it's not working. Building an image using bananapim2 profile, after power on the device start booting from SD, but shows me: unknow image format and start asking for TFP to find flash. Can you please point me toward some useful information on how to build an Armbian image on such card? Thank you in advance

  65. I have the same problem. Using Lubuntu 14.04- 0.9.1 img for Orange pi lite. bin2fex in sunxi tools gave me "malformed data" error. using the windows bin2fex gave me "unrecognized GPIO port #12". Since this bin2fex is so critical in setting display, audio, resolution, etc. This bug made my ARM experience very bad. I understand and appreciate all the efforts in the linux community though.

Since I was looking up which boards would make a proper NAS and home automation hub, I figured I might as well summarize the options in a post. Requirements for a proper NAS: Gigabit Ethernet SATA that is not a crappy USB->SATA chip Armbian-supported That last one is because otherwise the options are much more numerous and scattered, and the previous requirements become vague (e.g., you could even just take out a netbook's motherboard and run it standalone). Also, you could use an A80 board (USB 3.0) but I believe none are supported by Armbian, same goes for R40 (has SATA), so this leaves us with these A20 boards that also have GbE: _______________________…

  72. Hey, I'm currently using Debian Wheezy Armbian and think on Upgrading to Jessie. This should be no problem using the Upgrade script as in documentation. Now I've seen that also Ubuntu Trusty ist available. Is there an upgrade from Debian Wheezy to Ubuntu Trusty possible? Does it have any consequences? Or should I stay within Debian? And as additional question: I currently backup the following directories: /etc /root /home /var/backups /var/lib /var/local /var/opt /var/mail /srv /opt /usr/local Is this enough? Or how should I backup before such a upgrade procedure? Thank you for your infos. Ingo

Script is run with output redirected to /dev/null There is no trace why script is stop working in the logs, so I run it in screen terminal and detach, it works more than a week without failing ........... is there a better way to see what is going on?

  82. I am looking for recommendations, the outstanding group here has knowledge of pretty much every board out there I would think. I have had to abandon my OPI projects today. They are just not stable/usable. A board specific crash at every turn. Comes with a legacy kernel that doesn't even support a working BTRFS. The up to date mainline kernel is also far from working I am told. Ethernet masq causes reboot, out of memory killing processes/servers while there is lots of free ram and swap, SD slot crashes periodically making the system unusable till the storage is removed and is checked/repaired by a working system. So, even working around everything, with a repla…
