  1. Hello fellow Armbian folk, I've been a happy armbian user for many years. Recently, I've been trying to upgrade to bookworm from bullseye on my cubietruck, however have been hampered by Hash Sum mismatch errors from multiple armbian mirrors. I have followed all instructions on clearing the /var/lib/apt/files, apt clean, but nothing seems to help. I've tried multiple armbian mirrors with no luck. So now I'm seeking some community support.

After upgrade two of my boards to mainline (4.14.51-sunxi) I have noticed that simple command apt list basically stopped working. It stuck at "Listing ..." (at this moment 1 core of CPU is utilized in 100%). Now I run it in background to see if eventually it will be completed... So far (15 minutes)... nothing. apt list --installed is also very slow, but after some time it gives results. However, it is much slower than on "default" (3.4.113-sun8i) Can anybody check it and reconfirm?

  25. The GPIO pins on the Rock64 are very similar to the Raspberry Pi's GPIO, except the Raspberry pi calls pin #19 GPIO 10, pin #21 GPIO 9 and pin #23 GPIO 11. Where as the Rock64's pin #19 is GPIO3_A1, pin #21 GPIO_A2 and pin #23 GPIO3_A0. The Rock64 documentation does say that it is quasi-Raspberry Pi compatible, but it's hard to find anyone who has actually tested this. Here is the GPIO layout of the Rock64, compared to the Pi 3 I'm currently trying to figure out if a display such as THIS can be connected to the Rock64's GPIO pins without any major issues. User documentation for the display can be found HERE on page 2, in the PDF named …

Does anyone know of an ARM-based single board computer that stores its boot firmware in SPI flash and has write protection mechanisms (e.g., screws, pins, jumpers, etc.) for said SPI flash? The ROCK 3A has something like it, but I don't think the mechanism uses an SPI flash chip's intended WP control pin.

The current available documentation seems quite sparce and Google searches are littered with people having problems with establishing their chosen video resolutions so I am sceptical! Any pointers would be gratefully received. Thank You, Dave

Subsequent rebuilds took a couple hours as well, and I discovered I could 'skip' rebuilding the kernel unless I wanted to build it. Now, I'm testing customize-image.sh, things aren't always going where I want. so, I troubleshoot, make changes, but now my minimum build time is 30-40 minutes. Is there something else I can do to speed up the process?

Although when I run apps that use SDL2 for example; the resolution is changed, and I tried to set a fixed resolution but there seems to be no way to do so in Armbian. I changed the boot settings and those are correctly set with 1080p@60; then I tried to use xrandr (I have X11 installed as I have SDL2 installed too), and it says "can't open display" (I assume …

I need Armbian Bionic with Linux opiz2b 4.19.57-sunxi #5.90 SMP or 4.19.127-sunxi. I realise this is from 2019 and may be too old now to do anything with it. Is it possible to still get this? Since the 23.08 upgrades were released (thank you again to team Armbian!), I noticed that the "default" image for the Orange Pi 3 LTS is Armbian 23.8 Bookworm. 98. Dear all, I come with a basic question: is armbian for H3 advanced enough and without roadblocks future proof, or is it still risky? Should it soon become mainline or for one or more years, it will be mainly for advanced users? I need to set-up a Openelec platform with software DSP features (ALSA, LADSPA, SOX...). I need easy to setup audio features (over USB, I2S, HDMI). I'm far from being a Linux expert. I don' t know how to compile an image, I discover SBC world.... I don't want to enter in too steep learning curve, and be able to focus on my project. Are H3 and Orange pi products ok for me, or would you advice to go directly to Rpi? I understand that there…
