Hello, I am looking the way how to create a new board after cloned https://github.com/armbian/build in my local. I am woking on a A20 (allwinner) project. The Idea is copy the current configuration of eg. cubieboard2 and modify it in order to fit my requirements. I already read the Armbian documentation and I spent 1 day searching in the forum for that receipt. Customize things are pretty easy but no info about how to create a new board. Basically I looking for: 1) How and where to clone an existing A20 board configuration locally (in my PC). 2) How to enable locally (in my PC) that new board in the Armbian develop…

Hi I think the subject I am interested in, called Kiosk OS or computer. I like to build a computer that when you turn it on, it does only execute one or some programs that I want. how can I do that? Is it a simple thing or should I spend weeks or months to learning and doing that? (I am a newbie linux user but know the C language). Very thank you in advanced!

Hi all, I need to customize the /etc/fstab during the build to mount a mtd partition and also to override some mountpoints with tmpfs in order to reduce wearing on mmc. So, have added the following lines to customize-image.sh: cat <<EOT >> /etc/fstab # Reduce SD wearing by storing log files into ram (no need as overlayroot is used to freeze all the rootfs) tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults, noatime, nosuid, nodev 0 0 tmpfs /run tmpfs defaults, noatime, nosuid, nodev 0 0 tmpfs /var/tmp tmpfs defaults, noatime, nosuid, nodev 0 0 tmpfs /var/log tmpfs defaults, noatime, nosuid, nodev, noexec 0 0 tmpfs /var/lib/logrotate tmpf…

Hi all, I am new to kernel development, and I found an old ASUS tinkerboard. I want to give it a second life with some fun projects. The project I am building is another IP KVM, so I bought an HDMI to CSI module. After tinkering around for a while, I found I supplied the wrong clock for that module: [ 8.469299] tc358743 2-000f: unsupported refclk rate: 50000000 Hz [ 8.483069] kernel BUG at drivers/media/i2c/tc358743.c:593! I have no idea about the clock value to put in the dts file, so I just copied some values from the ASUS kernel source. From the driver code drivers/media/i2c/tc358743.c, it shows that there are only…

I am trying to convert this dts file into a user-provided overlay. I have a work-in-progress, but I'm running into the issue that some labels seem not available to reference with the "&" operator. Specifically - the uart2 label seems not possible to reference. Maybe there are more compile errors in my code, but dtc only gives errors one by one... I tried decompiling the current device tree using dtc -I fs -O dts /sys/firmware/devicetree/base There the uart2 label seems missing in that output. I tried whether creating an alias for the path found in the current device tree, but that also didn't help: uart2 = "/soc/serial@1c28800"; …

Sorry, I know it is a noob question. I want to add something to the "arch/arm64/boot/dts/rockchip/rk3328-roc-cc.dts" file, and tried serval methods to make the patch to build, but no luck: Method1: 1. Directly modify the "arch/arm64/boot/dts/rockchip/rk3328-roc-cc.dts" file 2. Add "CREATE_PATCHES="yes" in $ARMBIAN_BUILD_HOME/build/userpatches/config-example.conf 3. Compile After compiled, I found my modification was not on "arch/arm64/boot/dts/rockchip/rk3328-roc-cc.dts" file. Method2: 1. Command: cd $KERNEL_SOURCE_HOME cp arch/arm64/boot/dts/rockchip/rk3328-roc-cc.dts . 2. Modify ./rk3328-roc-cc.dts 3. Command: …

I apologize if this is a basic question. I'm trying to make a minimal Orange Pi Zero 3 Trixie image with a btrfs file system and NetworkManager for the networking stack using Docker without having to compile a new kernel (i.e., I just want to use the precompiled kernel found in the CSC version). I created a `config-myimage.conf` file under `build/userpatches`: BOARD=orangepizero3 BRANCH=current RELEASE=trixie CLEAN_LEVEL=cache KERNEL_CONFIGURE=no BUILD_KSRC=no BUILD_MINIMAL=yes NETWORKING_STACK=network-manager DOCKER_ARMBIAN_BASE_IMAGE=ubuntu:jammy ROOTFS_TYPE=btrfs BTRFS_COMPRESSION=zlib CONSOLE_AUTOLOGIN=yes #BOOTSIZE=96 # need larger boot size to…

Hi I had 2days of effort on make my lcd working here: https://github.com/notro/fbtft/issues/428, but no results till now! I am trying to build an image for both the Orange Pi PC and One I am on a slow cellular network and pay by the gigabyte for access. Is there a way to cache the packages for: Installing base system [ Stage 1/2 ] , and all the rest? Each time I try a compile.sh it take hours to re-download the whole set of packages, because the there is almost always at least a few packages that could not be fetched due to network errors, then they are unpacked and a corrupt tar image is saved and the packages are removed. If I save the create_rootfs_cache file with the missing packages, it does not try to reload them, it just errors out cause they are missing. I am building i…

My objective is to boot Armbian on my NanoPi Neo2 from a network server. I've got Armbian running on the NanoPi Neo2 and u-boot recognizes the ethernet interface. Also, I have a DHCP server and TFTP server running. If I press space during start-up, I get in the U-boot environment. When I give the dhcp command in the U-boot environment, the NanoPi Neo2 get's an IP address and loads /boot/boot.scr from the network. So, the pre-requisites seem to work fine. But then.... I just can't figure out how to start Armbian (preferrably in read only mode) from the network. Maybe someone can tell me what needs to be done. I've got the following qu…

During Assembly of images Armbian, faced with a situation where the build process creates a new\updated packages (kernel etc.). These packages are used to created images and it is desirable to update those who are already using older versions of the images. How to organize a network repository that would enable users to connect, get and install packages via regular means. For example using synaptic ? Maybe there are already rules for how it should be arranged for Armbian.

Hi guys, I'm new on linux, In the last week, I have downloaded armbian source code to build a light-weight kernel for my orangepi zero. I'm building an Ubuntu image and after it compiles the ARM objects it tries to download files from ports.ubuntu.com. For a reason I'm still trying to figure out, it's trying to get files from 127.0.0.1 (which is weird) but that's fixable. What I'd like to do is resume a build that had failed without recompiling all the ARM objects again. I'm using compile.sh. Thanks! Kriston

There is another topic with answer for desktop case. But how to rotate the console screen, when there is no desktop? The suggestion about change in kernel parameter - fbcon=rotate:<number> didn't work for me (edited boot.cmd, compiled with mkimage command, and I see boot.scr changed ) and I was unable to change the /sys/class/graphics/fbcon/rotate file - it stays unchanged.

Hi, I managed to make w1-GPIO work in Orange Pi Zero v3 for, for example, the DS18B20 sensor. However, I have some doubts about setting the GPIO flags for w1-gpio. Many examples provide flags in the form gpios = <&pio 0 7 (GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH|GPIO_OPEN_DRAIN)>; but in the dts file when I use this form it does not work (syntax error) so I have to provide the flags in digital form. A description of flags and bits is here https://elixir.bootlin.com/linux/v6.6.30/source/include/dt-bindings/gpio/gpio.h If I would like to set GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH | GPIO_OPEN_DRAIN then the digital value for…

This may be a somewhat stupid question, but I just cannot find anything about it. I have custom-compiled the kernel for Allwinner A20/cubietruck as described here on a Virtual Box Ubuntu 18.04 Once done, I took the *.deb files out of output/debs, copied it to the machine and installed them. Everything worked fine and so far so good . But the "build" directory on the host with the compile.sh script is surprisingly empty. However, if I want to cross compile an additional kernel module on the virtual machine, how do I set this up? Is it enough to "make" with CROSS-COMPILE=arm-linux-gnueabihf-? or do I also need to somehow consider the linaro stuff in c…

Sometimes I get in trouble building a new image. This could be caused by a variety of reasons, e.g an Armbian patch does not work with the latest kernel, a new u-boot version makes trouble or some functionality is broken in the image like the USB and v4.6.1. stuff here: http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/1338-a20-lamobo-r1-kernel-461-usb-issue/ How could I step back to working Armbian main build libraries and a working kernel and stay on both? Hello everyone, I am an old-timer in Debian and Ubuntu and have uploaded and maintained packages there. I've come across an issue in a package that I use that affects 32-bit platforms such as armv7 but not 64-bit platforms. I've already analysed the problem and applied a fix, compiled the package locally and I'm happy. But I'd like to get the fix into armbian as well so others will not run into this fairly serious problem (for the package in question, it is essentially useless at the moment in noble). I looked through the various github repositories but was unable to see how to apply a patch to a userland package and have it published. Given that armbian s…

Hi all, I have a bananapi and I have installed the debian Wheezy image with kernel 3.19.0. Now, I’d like to upgrade to kernel 4.0.4 to see wether the ananlog audio output is supported; so I downloaded all the deb packages from the website and installed them, but after reboot the system is still using kernel 3.19.0. How can I switch it to use kernel 4.0.4? I guess I should edit something in boot.cmd and convert it to boot.scr, but what should I change exactly? Thanks in advance for your help!

Was in dire need of Armbian on my new toy, the HBP with a iMX8Q CPU ;-) The board features dual WWAN (PCIe + M.2) sockets for highspeed 3G/4G/5G modems with a SIM socket. The Debian build from SolidRun did not have any modem drivers enabled in the kernel so there was headache. Wipped up this WIP configuration and it builds and runs with: ``` $ ./compile.sh BOARD=hummingboardpulse-imx8q BRANCH=legacy RELEASE=buster BUILD_MINIMAL=no BUILD_DESKTOP=no KERNEL_ONLY=no KERNEL_CONFIGURE=no ``` NOTE: It uses the HDMI and LPDDR4 binary blobs from NXP. I'm using an opi PC with a sandisk ultra 32GB micro SD. I've noticed that if you do a large write to the SD card (i.e. via samba) then the system becomes sluggish. Writing to a USB stick does not have the same effect on system performance. I tried changing the scheduler to CFQ (from noop) and it helped a lot. Has there been any testing on which scheduler is best? I assume noop performance will vary dependant on the SD controller? raspbian uses deadline as the default - https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=64702 Some very good info here: https://www.thomas-krenn.com/de/wiki/Linux_I/O_Scheduler

I have have armbian V25.2.3 installed on a radxa Zero 2w linux kernel 6.12.17-current-meson64. The radxa uses i2c to talk to a PCA9685 which in turn drives three servos in a robot. The issue is that the PCA9685 has two i2c busses, 0 and 1. But the radxa zero has only two i2c busses that can be enabled using armbian-config and they are i2c-3 and - ic2-5. It seems I need to install a new overlay to describe the i2c busses in the device tree. But how do I do that?

Hello, I am trying to port my developed module to the newest Armbian system. Once I had everything worked in very old Armbian developed in 2018 based on kernel 3.4. There is a hardware module connected via i2c1. When my program tries to communicate with it, it doesn't work and I get errors kernel: i2c i2c-1: mv64xxx: I2C bus locked, block: 1, time_left: 0 I've uploaded the diagnosis information to URL: https://paste.armbian.com/aciwalafah There was a problem also in Armbian 22.11 system. I upgraded it after found information about some solution for i2c probem with similar error messages. Please advise. Thanks.

Hello, im trying to map the i2c-2 to some GPIO ports and have to rewrite the device-tree on armbian 22.04. I'm failing miserably and have no idea how-to do it. I managed to compile the i2c-gpio.ko kernel module as it is not part of the armbian 5.15.89-sunxi kernel. However, here i'm stuck and cant manage to make it happen. On RPi it was simple adding an overlay to config.txt: dtoverlay=i2c-gpio,bus=2,i2c_gpio_sda=27,i2c_gpio_scl=17 /boot/overlays/i2c-gpio.dtbo I'm trying to replicate that for Armbian, here is my dts file: // Overlay for i2c_gpio bitbanging host bus. /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatibl…

Hi All, I am not new to kernel building. I have been building kernels since the early days of Gentoo. Kernels on boards however, is something a bit different. I have an roc-rk3328-cc but this would be applicable to a variety of boards. Right now Firefly has their 4.* kernel at 4.4.114. I guess at some point that was what they went with. The current kernel is at about 4.15.14. I couldn't figure out how to patch from 4.4.114 to 4.15.14 (if you could provide help with that, please do so) so I downloaded the tarball and extracted it into the firefly's git directory. What should have happened was any kernel related file got u…

EDIT: After discussion with a few users, to avoid the issue of having this modification wiped out by a future DTB update and create the unfortunate scenario where the /boot/armbianEnv.txt requests to load a DTB which no longer exists, it's a lot simpler to overwrite the original DTB thus keeping the naming identical. If the DTB gets overwritten by an update then the reboot functionality may just revert to the no-reboot behavior until the fix is re-applied to the newer DTB. The problem lies in the SDCARD signals not being in the right state for a reboot. To solve this we will de-compile the DTB in /boot/dtb/amlogic/meson-gxbb-odroidc2.dtb to create a source ver…

Hi. According to this patch Orange pi 5 Pro DTS (which BTW i use for my successful Orange Pi 5 Pro edge build) there will be a split of DTSI files. I know most of you probably don't want to hear any more about this chip, but I recently fixed quite a few long standing issues. It's not perfect yet, but it improves scanning/reliable reconnect, incoming frames missed in powersave, ping times, and rate selection. Here's the patch set: https://github.com/fifteenhex/xradio/pull/12 Edit: rebased from karabek: https://github.com/dbeinder/xradio/commits/karabek_rebase And some important comments about powersave: https://github.com/fifteenhex/xradio/pull/11#issuecomment-616226880 In short, relative to the current version, with powersave on, idle consumption is lower by 200mW, but with powersave off, it is 300mW hig…

I wish you all good health. Using the "Armbian" build system, I noticed two bad points: 1 - incomplete cleaning of the source code before starting a new compilation, seen when patches add new files to the tree. 2 - Debian kernel source package includes the git directory. 1) All I do I'm fixing the version kernel (KERNELBRANCH="tag:v4.14.40") and collect several variants for one Board, changing the patchset for each version, adding or removing some. Before each new compilation I'm doing a test of the purity of the source. clean_repo() { display_alert "clean_repo $PWD" #git status -s git reset --hard HEAD # First, return the modified f…

Hi, Yesterday, I reinstalled my NanopiM1 and I noticed the download link for H3 devices uses many different versions : orangepipcplus : 5.14 orangepiplus2e : 5.14 orangepilite : 5.13 nanopim1 : 5.10 bananapim2plus : 5.13 orangepi2h3 : 5.10 orangepioneh3 : 5.13 orangepipch3 : 5.14 orangepiplush3 : 5.14 tkaiser explained me why there were both 5.13 and 5.14 (see here) so no problem here. But the 5.10 are quite old and for the Nanopi M1, the dvfs_table included is buggy. You have a build framework that works pretty good, is it out of the question to have an extremely simple configuration framework? Maybe framework is more advanced than needed, probably just a script? It it doesn’t need to be part of the normal build process but could just simply inject a configuration profile into a completed rootfs, image or actual sd card Just the basics: Single network manager profile hostname default user and pass serial console config log2ram status remote login status (ssh, xrdp) I don’t mind writing a simple v0.1 to get started

Hello, I'm new to Armbian which i just installed on a Rock64 board (Armbian_5.65_Rock64_Ubuntu_bionic_default_4.4.162.7z). I have to say that my first impressions are that Armbian is a nice Os and that this is the one that causes me the less troubles on the Rock64 to install and to start. My goal is the write/port an application in C++ preferably by using Qt. Here, it is the problem. I tried to install it using command: sudo apt-get install qtcreator sudo apt-get install qt4-designer "Qt 4 Designer" seems installed correctly and seems working properly. Qt Creator was not installed completely, the IDE is installed but there i…

Prior to entering an issue... One of the challenges of using an image based install is how to cover to machine unique items... Good example here is the systemd-machine-id... some systemd units can use machine-id in place of gethostid... https://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/machine-id.html It's supposed to be a unique qualifier for installation - but if this is written into the image, it's going to likely be the same for every image out there... Can always regen it on the shell - but this could also be in the first run script... $ cat /etc/machine-id \ && sudo rm -rf /var/lib/dbus/…

FYI I've found a problem with the nand-sata-install script after building a 4.6 version for my pcduino, nand-part does not exist in /usr/sbin. Did a full, default compile. Seems the command its in the PATH but if i try to run nand-part i get "/usr/sbin/nand-part now found" lf I go manually in there and do a "ls " its there, but even if im in the folder and do ./nand-part same error appears. The error that I'm getting from nand-sata-install is not enough space on nand2, because nand-part is not able to run and aprtition the disk its trying to copy all root to 16MB(old partitioning from stock linksprite image). To make it work for myself i manually compiled nand…

I'm trying to compile the tv.ko driver for the NanoPi M1 (to see if I can bake overscan compensation into it). First I compiled the whole of Armbian to see if I can produce the .ko in such a roundabout way, but besides being a very dumb/slow way of going about it, I can't find any file called "tv.ko" after running all of that (it probably gets cleaned up). Short of mounting the generated Armbian image manually and extracting tv.ko, is there a way to compile just the driver? It normally sits at: /lib/modules/3.4.112-sun8i/kernel/drivers/video/sunxi/disp2/tv/tv.ko And sources for it are under: sources/linux-sun8i/sun8i/drivers/video/sunxi/disp2/tv/ The modin…

Hello, for quite some time I have noticed that it seems impossible to build just the kernel, an image is built every time. I am using the following command: ./compile.sh BOARD=odroidxu4 BRANCH=current RELEASE=bullseye BUILD_MINIMAL=yes BUILD_DESKTOP=no BUILD_ONLY="kernel" KERNEL_CONFIGURE=no USE_CCACHE=no KEEP_KERNEL_CONFIG=no DEB_COMPRESS=xz Additionally, output/debs seems not to be cleaned, despite documentation indicating this should happen with default CLEAN_LEVEL. Am I doing something wrong? Or does documentation need updating? Thanks!

Hello, is there a parameter one can pass to ./compile.sh in order to limit which toolchains are being downloaded? I just checked and cache/toolchains is taking up 14 GB on my VM and given that I only ever build odroidxu4 kernels this is quite an overkill. I could of course delete the cache manually but this would mean that the toolchains need to be re-downloaded for the next rebuild. Thanks!

I think I'm finally managing to understand this Armbian build system. It's an amazing piece of work! However, after the build, many source files end up owned by the root user. There's just a lot of activity going on "as root" that probably doesn't need to be run with that privilege. Disaster seems just one build script error away. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a simple way to avoid this (without resorting to virtualization of the build environment). Has this not bothered anyone else?

Hi! I’ve been trying to build a kernel with custom settings for a couple of days now, but am facing some issues. My build setup is a virtual machine (running in VMWare Workstation Pro v15) based on the mini.iso image that's recommended in the Armbian documentation (and post here in the forums). The target is an Odroid N2+ SBC. There was no apparent issues setting up the build framework, installing git and cloning the repository. I then executed the compile.sh script and manually set the kernel configuration via the menuconfig interface that pops up. This however yielded an output image that, surprisingly enough, does not use my supplied configurati…

I'm curious as to why we explicitly specify CPUMIN and CPUMAX values in the Armbian board configs, for most/all boards... These values of course propagate their way into the MIN_SPEED and MAX_SPEED settings in the target /etc/default/cpufrequtils configuration file (e.g., see lib/makeboarddeb.sh). If these values aren't specified, then the cpufreq driver will base its speed ranges on what the underlying H/W supports (e.g., specified via the board DT(s)). So...if the underlying driver configuration provides the supported speed range, then we actually need to specify these values? I ask because I'm running my H5 boards with my overlays t…

Currently all of the Armbian kernel defconfigs include the actual build configuration statically as part of the kernel. The standard Armbian build process also includes a copy of the .config file in /boot/config-<version>-<platform>. Are both required, or should the kernel configurations be updated to make Kernel .config support an LKM instead of static bind? True this is a minor item. The actual kernel configuration takes up a very small amount of memory, though on many SBCs with limited memory to start with every byte not used by the kernel can help. This would amount to changing from: CONFIG_IKCONFIG=y to: CO…

Hello, I'm using armbian debian Jessie server, kernel 4.6.3 for banana pi m1+. Before, I built device driver with kernel 3.x and was working well, but decided to higher the kernel version because of SPI. (cpu isolation for the thread with SPI communication did not work in kernel 3.x) In the kernel 4.6.3, cpu isolation was working perfectly. When I used bcm2835 library, SPI also worked. However, when I tried to use the same device driver code in the kernel 4.6.3, it just crashed and froze. I had to turn it off and on again to use the pi again. After debugging, I found out that the point of the crash was the method gpio_direction_output(pinNumber, fal…

Since update to 5.5.0 kernel (-rc2) my Orange PI often freezed after uptime of several hours up to 3 days (usually less than 24 hours). Since downgrade to 5.4.10 it seems to be stable again (1 day for now, so I still keep my fingers crossed). (Before upgrade to 5.5. it was up for several weeks - and I don't remember any unplanned reboot). Unfortunately I have no logs (it logs to ram), but in one case if was connected via ssh and had "htop" running - it showed nothing special at freeze time (CPU temperature around 50°C, no high load (around 0,5 load avg, only one CPU cure with a CPU % > 50% (still < 80%)). Hi! I'm testing the image for cubieboard (A10 SOC) onto my MK 802 II and the legacy kernel is working fine (USB, OGT, WIFI, HDMI...) I just have changed the script.bin I'm reading some documentation about the device trees and I don't understand how you compile the vanilla kernel. Sorry if is a stupid questions but my board has his own .dts (sun4i-a10-mk802ii.dts), how you get a common vanilla kernel valid for all the configurations without using one specific .dts for each board? Probably I'm missing something very basic for ARM kernels, but this is my 1º aproach.

Some SBCs, such as PIneA64, provide a built-in RTC on-board while others do not. For those boards that do have a built-in RTC, it appears the kernel driver is configured as a builtin rather than as a module at least in some cases (I only checked a few). This in turn brings up a question: For boards that include a built-in RTC and also have the respective kernel driver configured as a built-in, should the kernel configuration to also set the system clock from that RTC (RTC_HCTOSYS) be enabled by default? There is a dependency that the RTC be built-in as the kernel will try to read from the RTC rather early, before any loadable modules w…

Hi all, Is there some documentation or How To on how to debug the boot process ? I posted before I am trying to bring up a AW-SOM-A20 board that gets stuck at boot. I am kind of at a loss so I figure next step is to use the kernel debugger, which I have never done on linux (I have experience with darwin/mac OS and freebsd though) Is there a build option for armbian so that the debuggable kernel image is left around in the build process ? The network connection is confirmed to be normal. I can successfully download the kernel source using git clone, with a download speed of around 3–5 MB/s. However, during the Armbian build process, the kernel source fetching stage always fails. I have tried both full git mode and shallow clone mode, but neither can complete successfully. Is there any recommended solution for this issue? Is it possible to configure Armbian to reuse an existing local kernel source tree or adjust the kernel git download process? Thanks.

Hi there, trying to iterate on making small changes to a kernel driver module, and using armbian to help build the kernel (cross-compiling off the device). I'm aware of kernel-patch mode, but for making small changes, compiling, and iterating like this over and over, making and then putting patches into place on each cycle is quite cumbersome. Is there some way to tell armbian build _not_ to update the kernel, i.e. let me build with dirty tree, as I'm in a dev cycle? I just want to edit something in my local kernel tree, then build the kernel, and repeat

My only reason for being here is to develop a Kubernetes platform that runs on Armbian, mesh networks, and particularly the type of devices Consumers will typically have... Is anyone else already doing this? And who else here is in the web dev space? or ops? Or has a website on something like Wordpress.com or Wix, and wants to self-host it? What is your favorite open source PaaS? also proprietary like Heroku? Any AWS or GCP or Azure user? Or a Data Scientist? just wanted to get a little survey, of if this has market demand.

I found it very confusing that Armbian doesn't seem to follow the Ubuntu/Debian traditional scheme for naming kernel modules: linux-image-*, linux-modules-* and linux-headers-*. I need them to cross compile out-of-tree kernel module in `schroot`. Armbian seem to have only `linux-image-edge-rockchip64` and `linux-headers-edge-rockchip64`. What's the reasoning behind such design decision? Moreover, I've noticed kernel packages incorporate all the logic that make the board bootable, instead having more generic kernel binaries and relying on `flash-kernel` tool that both Ubuntu and Debian widely use. I wonder why not? What are chances in future `linux-im…

Hi, I recently noticed that after updating to 24.02 the package "linux-libc-dev" did not receive a update. I have checked the current armbian archives and couldn't find anything for any arch. Just to be sure i've also built armbian 24.5 images for bananapi (noticed this on a bananapi board) and rpi4b (as a well supported board) and no linux-libc-dev[...].deb was built. Unfortunately linux-libc-dev is a dependency for libc6-dev a…

Sorry for this novice question, I am sure I am missing this in the documentation somewhere... When creating Armbian images using the included build system, I notice that the kernel is downloaded each time I run a build. This of course takes a decent amount of time to pull via git. Is there a way to simply point the build system to a local cached folder that already contains kernel sources already downloaded? That would speed up my iterations significantly. Thanks!

Hi, After 2 tests with recent images (5.77) with debian stretch for s912 (balbes ilmages) and dev image for pineh64, I get the same issue when configuring locales. I selected fr_FR.UTF-8 in armbian-config and I also ran manually dpkg-reconfigure locales and locale-gen, but I ended each time to default locales settings (ANSI_X3.4-1968). Only the LANG variable is set to fr_FR.UTF-8 and all LC_XXX variables are set to C. To solve this issue, I have modified manually the /etc/environment to set LC_ALL=fr_FR.UTF-8. Does anybody else have this issue and is it specific to debian? With a 5.75 stretch image the locale configuration worked well.

First time armbian user and poster here. Since this is not the right time and place for an introduction, lets keep it with a simple "Hi all!" and get straight to the topic: for completeness, my system: BOARD=orangepizeroplus BOARD_NAME="Orange Pi Zero Plus" BOARDFAMILY=sun50iw2 VERSION=5.59 LINUXFAMILY=sunxi64 BRANCH=next ARCH=arm64 IMAGE_TYPE=testing BOARD_TYPE=conf INITRD_ARCH=arm64 KERNEL_IMAGE_TYPE=Image logging, in particular logrotate with ram-logging As far as I understand: - Three different cron files are responsible to handle ram-logging and logrotate -- /etc/cron.daily/logrotate -- /etc/cron.daily/armbian-ram-logging …
