i have just downloaded the new version (dated 5-8) for jessie 4.1.4 for the cubietruck. it runs till it gets the greetings screen but then hangs and says: time timed out waiting for device dev-ttyS).device. depend dependency failed for serial getty on ttySO. -- i had a hdmi monitor, but then connectted a vga monitor (both show the initial informations) - the same result. what did i wrong? andrew ps. thank you for adding the upgrade using ppa!

  2. Hi, I receive 16 bytes every 0.5 seconds. This should be saved as text or as MySQL table data. Need to compare with all existing records , process and display it on 3.5 inch TFT LCD on SPI ( Notro fbtft ) and also save to SD Card . It should be broadcasted to a fixed Ip using TCPIP. Can I use Orange Pi Zero with 512MB Ram ? Can I partition Ram as RAMFS OR TMPFS to do all read only tasks thus save time for slow SD CARD writes ? Can I first copy boot files and my app, tables to Ram and start from Ram ? Any suggestions ? Thanks

  3. Hi all, I noticed that my OrangePi freezes after 4-5 days of uptime. Something happens (usually around 06:00) when my script simply stop working (no more log entries) and then reboots after ~12 hours (exactly at 13:17 in all occasions). Finally the orange pi becomes unresponsive and heats up to 85-90 degree Celsius. I've checked CPU temperature, disk and memory usage but haven't found anything... I'm a beginner in armbian and completely having no idea what could be the root casue. Could you please help? I've executed a diagnostics you can find it here: http://ix.io/1iQc Related syslog entries: Jul 31 06:10:01…

Hi, Please, i am seeking for some help. Today i just did an apt-get dist-upgrade and my banana pi updated the kernel to 4.19.13. There wasnt any error messages but then i wasnt able to boot. I get messages like "/boot/zImage file not found" so i checked my sdcard (wich cointains the boot folder) and i saw that zImage was symlink to the previous kernel image (wich no longer existed). I corrected it cause in fact there was a vmlinuz-4.19.13-sunxi but there are some more symlinks broken in boot foolder. UInitrd is also broken and i dont have the appropiate file to make a new symlink, script.bin symlink is also broken (it pointed to /boot/bin/bananapi.bin wich …

  9. Hi, I just downloaded this image from here (this is the link i copied from the bananapipro site): https://dl.armbian.com/bananapipro/Debian_stretch_next.7z and i got Armbian_5.38_Bananapipro_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.14.7z on my disk. Unpacked it and put it on my sdcard with etcher. Tried to mount it as loop device --> error. Checked with gparted --> it said /dev/sdc1 is not ok. Repaired it with gparted and could mount it. Put it with etcher on the card. --> Bananpipro does not boot. Red light is the only one that shows up, none of the other led is blinking. What can i do? best regards Ralf

  10. Hi there. First time posting. I already installed the latest version of the desktop version for my M1 and I was gratefully surprised how an old device is still working thanks to the armbian community. Thanks all of you. I am on a retro project trying to make my M1 working on an old crt TV through the pal/ntsc video output. New compiled kernel doesn’t seem to have the necessary driver/module. Any workarounds/ideas to achieve that? thanks

Hi all together, on a Raspberry Pi 3b and 3b+ as well as on a Odroid-C2 I know how to switch off the blinking LEDs s or Power LEDs. Does anybody know how I can switch off or dim that extremely bright red power LED from the OrangePi3? I tried a script snippet like this: echo none > /sys/class/leds/orangepi\:red:\power/trigger But it wont work. Has anybody a helpful hint for an unpatient contemporary? Thanks for help :o)

  13. Issue found! Orange PI changed eMMC from KLM8G1GETF to KLM8G1WEPD. The difference is eMMC 5.0 vs 5.1 and maybe more. The key things is that Armbian (checked using 5.35 and the latest one) does not see this memory (fdisk -l)!! I have noticed it on OPI0 Plus 2 H3. PCB boards are the same, only memory model no. difference. Someone solved it or noticed the same? Confused 🤨

Any suggestion ? Thanks advance.

  16. One of the Bananapi-m1+ GPIO pins is connected to an LED that I need to illuminate as quickly as possible after power-on. Using an older Fedora Linux release, it turns on in 3 seconds. Using a recent Armbian build, it takes 45 seconds. I've tried many ways using services with early "After=" targets, to access /sys/class/gpio/* interfaces more quickly, and this improved it by 5 seconds, but it's still too long. So I tried adding a device tree overlay to set the default value in the pin controller. I am confident the DT overlay is getting read and parsed properly, based on seeing artifacts in debugging streams, but still, no LED illumination. Anybody got any ideas on …

  27. Hi, I performed an apt-get upgrade on my system, and it installed the 4.13 kernel. After the reboot, i started getting the message "bad CRC - using default environment". I spent the whole day reading many threads but still didn't manage to come with a solution. I tried the symlink to /boot/dtb/allwinner from the PC2 forum, but with no luck. The main reason for me, to buy this router, except pc like capabilities, was SATA+SATA power connector. I used my old router with usb HDD, so it sounded good to have it in box and on native sata interface. Silly me, who would thought this will be the most troubled …

  31. Hello, I'm working on a project which include a microcontroller and a NanoPi NEO Core running Armbian FriendlyCore distribution. The NanoPi is wired to the µcontroler ICSP which can reset the µcontroller for update purpose. However, the same cubietruck works flawlessly with Debian Wheezy (2.6 updated to 4.5) and kernel 3.4.110. I checked the boot.cmd script and looked into cubietruck.bin - the standard settings would appear to identify the correct (HD) display resolution and to enable HDMI by default. Do you think they have archived that by manipulating the hardware or by lowering the frequency and stuff via software?

  94. Hello all, Where can I find the latest (and greatest?) version or Armbian. I think it is at the moment v5.24 . I looked at http://www.armbian.com/download/ and http://image.armbian.com/ . But no luck...? Is there another location? Or do I need to build from source? Thanks!

  100. Started by Dastious,

Just installed the v3.7 / 14.5.2015 on my cubieboard, then when i load python, it say the version is 2.7.10~rc1 ???? I searched in the debian packages, even the unstable don't have this. And when i looked in sources.list i found the first line was testing, is this normal ? Jessie is stable no ? Well for now I think aptitude have fix my broken package, but I wanted to report you this weird thing.
