  1. Started by Dima,

What's the current status of the mainline kernel? What kind of practical restrictions are there? I've seen on the Sunxi wiki that Ethernet is still WIP. So no Ethernet? I use my Orangepi PC as a "NAS/media server/download server".

  5. I'm looking to compile a kernel for Gentoo (Orange Pi Prime), but afaik the HDMI support has not been mainlined yet. Does anybody know how Armbian kernels have it? And is there more to it than just the kernel sources? Last time I tried, I had no luck getting output.

Now im been playing with the armbian and 4.x kernels for almost an year, and the banana pi hardly got 2 months without hangs and reboot. Could you be kind to tell me what is the kernel version with longest uptime with armbian on a banana pi? Sergio

Hi all, I recently bought a Banana BPI M2 Zero for a personal human-machine interaction project as this was the only (cheap) available option w.r.t. my specs (HDMI, entry-level OpenGL GPU, enough CPU power for the task). I got a version with Allwinner H3 (which in my view is good) and also read through the H3 buyer's guide. According to that guide, the CPU should be sourced by 1.3V, but to my (positive) surprise, I measured only 1.15V at the output coil (after the coil and against GND, of course) of the SY8113 regulator. However, there's certainly something not working as expected from the schematics: both, the SY8113 and the SY8089 1.2V regulators (SYSTEM+CPU…

Hi, I am running Armbian Jessie (4.11.6-sunxi) on Banana Pi M1. For reading and writing SD cards I use linux dd cmd on another box. I do not have a Windows system. My question is this: My SD card is a 16Gb device. With gparted I can reduce the size of the system to a partition that would easily fit on a 4Gb device. But when writing the .img file dd will still see and write an image of 16 Gb There must be a way to make an image that can be written to and booted from a smaller device to save resources on the backup disk. Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

Hi, with the Cubieboard 1 there's a bug with the kernel inotify's option. The problem is that Minidlna uses this feature in order to update its dabatase, but since on Cubie it doesn't work, I've tried both ArchLinux Arm and Armbian, i can't have an updated db. Do you know if there's any solution in order to fix this issue? Maybe trying another kernel, different from the default linux-sunxi? Thanks for your time! Marco

  55. Hello, I've just switched from bananian to armbian (as many others here as I've seen), and successfully finished migrating everything. I use the Banana as a little home server, NAS, sane/cups printer sharer and home cloud. I want to use docker on it, but I'm finding some difficulties to make it run. I'm currently on 4.9.12-sunxi. I've tried installing docker from the ubuntu repo but it doesn't seem to work. I've seen some topics about building a custom kernel for this, is this necessary? Did someone managed to make docker run? Thanks.

Here is my hostapd configuration: How can I change max devices connection? Is this problem relate to the wifi module and how can I fix it?

Regarding the 1-wire protocol cat /sys/bus/w1/devices/*/w1_slave responds "No such file or directory" since the upgrade. Also regarding the spi overlay # ls /dev/spi* should result in /dev/spidev0.0 whereas kernel 4.19 says "cannot access /dev/spi*: No such file or directory". 61. Hi After reading this: "No audio driver, IR, NAND, BT, HW video, I2C and SPI untested on 4.0 or higher" i'm not sure which kernel version should i choose. Is that "no audio driver" means that there is no HDMI audio, or no any audio including jack audio? Both kernels support the "Allwinner Security System cryptographic accelerator"? As i'm using CB2 as a headless java application server, samba fileserver, dlna server and music player daemon server, i need only jack audio from these, and of course the hw cryptographic support.
