My Cubie crashed after 3-4 weeks and I installed Watchdog using the file change method. During my tests it works fine several times. Hello, I have a cubieboard 2 (the one with only one SD slot) and there is a version of Linaro that is bootable in the NAND memory. I created a card with Debian Jessie Server (the last one) and boot it successfully, but when I run nand-sata-install I get a "No targets available. Please check your drives" pop up. I tried downloading the Debian Wheezy and creating a card and on that one I can see the nand memory blocks, but don't have the script to install and the one that came by default only installs to SATA (not to NAND). Anything I may be doing wrong here??

Hello, I try to re-install my olimex lime 1, but I'm unable to boot from the current buster image. For now, here's what I do to flash the sd card: % wget -c "https://dl.armbian.com/lime/Buster_current" % mv Buster_current Armbian_20.02.1_Lime_buster_current_5.4.20.7z % 7z x Armbian_20.02.1_Lime_buster_current_5.4.20.7z % sudo sh -c "dd if=Armbian_20.02.1_Lime_buster_current_5.4.20.img of=/dev/sdc bs=1M" And I come up with a result like this: % sudo sfdisk -d /dev/sdc label: dos label-id: 0xd9b237ef device: /dev/sdc unit: sectors /dev/sdc1 : start= 8192, size= 2318336, type=83 Is this empty space before the first par…

Hey, I recently decided to give the 22.11 a try on my M1, but I can't get my sata SSD to be the system root and boot again. 18.04 it worked for me with the exact same setup. I used this: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/#how-to-install-to-emmc-nand-sata-nvme-usb went with armbian-install only option for me was boot from SD and system on sata. But after the preparation of the ssd, the reboot always runs into emergency mode with not really good hints how to solve, or what even the issue is. Any tips or hints are welcomed.

Hi there, I am new to OrangePi and Linux as well and that's probably why I have faced my first problem I could not find an answer on web. I use OP Lite with the latest debian jessie. And there is the problem (or just a bug): after some time of using WiFi (and wwan) I wanted to disable it in order to reduce "excessive" power consumption. So firstly I had disabled it via "nmcli" and after a while I found out about "h3consumption" command. But recently I wanted to install (and download) but none of the above commands were able to re-enable them. Any ideas how to re-enable (besides loading new OS image) ? In addition, I noted that changind "h3consumption" is not a…

Hi Armbians, I'm running two identical Cubietrucks with Armbian Jessie systems in headless (very lean) mode without any X-Windows or the like. Both boot from 16GB SD-Cards. Now one of them, which had encountered a number of power failures, suddenly ran out of space on the SD-Card (100% usage of / ), while the other CT only shows 22%. I ran across this phenomenon, when the system failed to carry out an apt-get update at one point and important services Samba were no longer started. I then searched the root filesystem for culprits but there was nothing suspicious ... So I thought there might be a partial "destruction" of the fil…

Hi, I have been messing around with an Orange Pi One Board for a day or 2 now. So far the only distro that works has been yours. But I have the weirdest thing when I apply an update. Excuting apt-get update actually causes the machine to lose power completly. I have been looking at more data this is what I have. After and before the crash. Last freeze with htop analyzing. Am I missing something? I don't see a good reason for this to happen. Is there a common method to fix this if it is a known issue?

Hi, I've been running armbian (Debian Jessie) on my Cubietruck successfully for a while now, its mainly just an mpd server. It runs as a headless server and I use the optical spdif connection, ethernet (although I used to use the wireless). I have my root partition on a 2.5" hdd. I currently have: linux-image-3.4.106-cubieboard linux-headers-3.4.106-cubieboard linux-firmware-image-3.4.106-cubieboard I've seen the page http://www.armbian.com/kernel/ and added the repository as instructed. Hi I only have an old monitor, and I thus need to use a HDMI-to-VGA-converter to work with my Orange Pi PC Plus. When powering the Orange Pi on, the green LED on the board is constantly ligthened. On the monitor, I get a black screen, after 4 s (or so) a totally red screen. No text. No graphics. Then after about 15 s, on the board the red LED starts to double blink. The red screen remains for ever. I have tested the Raspbian and Debian images available on http://www.orangepi.org/downloadresources/. They work fine with the converter. Alas, the preferred OS, "Orange OS" armbian, seems not to work. Board: Orange Pi …

Hello, I'm starting in this world with an Orange Pi Lite, but I'm not being able to perform the initial setup using serial console gadget on the OTG port. To prevent power problems, I'm using the DC input. Unfortunately I haven't found enough information to make the configuration on a Linux PC, since I wasn't able to know the /dev address to connect through screen. You've probably noticed that my knowledge of Linux is rather scarce. Thanks in advance!

I am new to Armbian and I have been using Jessie on BPI M2 for a couple weeks now but I can't seem to get it to automatically boot into desktop mode when no monitor is connected. It always seems to go right into command line. I have a number of pieces of software that have a GUI and need to run under desktop mode right off the bat that I would like to have at startup. I have been doing a lot of searching and have been wondering if it is a frambuffer issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have spent hours trying to get any activity on my new Orange Pi PC I just purchased. I have been downloading and burning different images, reformatting / trying different SD cards, 2 power supplies, using DD, WIn32DiskImager, Rufus, scanning my SD using F3, etc lots of "pain". The solution - which I found somewhere halfway by accident - is that some boards do not have card slots mounted correctly, but you can flex the card to make it work. So yes, I flexed the SD card and applied power, and like magic I got actual LED activity. OMG it boots now! Would have worked the entire time but it did not make contact with the SD card. My solution for now is to stick a laye…

I use OrangePi R1 with connected RS485-TTL module to UART1 (PG6, PG7). RS485 communicates with a heatpump. Tried to see what is happening on the RS485 line with oscilloscope. Start of the diagram always looks good, but the end is skewed and corrupt. It seems like RS485 tries to send data while it receives and ce…

Hello! In order to compile software on my Banana Pi running Armbian 5.27 Debian 8, I started off uncommenting the "# deb-src" lines in /etc/apt/sources.list and then ran apt-get update and apt-get upgrade. The start screen in the shell would then ask me to reboot as the kernel was updated. But after the reboot there was no AppleTalk anymore to serve my old devices. Compiling a newer Armbian with an up-to-date version of Debian is of no use to me as I run software (A2SERVER) that is incompatible with newer systems. So how can I upgrade my system without loosing AppleTalk (which I configured as a kernel module when compiling two years ago)? …

I'm running Armbian off NVMe, and flashed the U-Boot SPI firmware (u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin → /dev/mtdblock0) so I no longer need an SD card inserted just to get it booting. That part works great. But now I'd like to be able to pop in an SD card occasionally to try other distros/images without disturbing my NVMe install — and it seems that's not currently possible: with an SD card inserted, the board still boots straight from NVMe and ignores the card entirely. Dug into it a bit over serial console: The default boot_targets is fel nvme0 mmc_auto usb0 pxe dhcp — NVMe is checked before the SD/eMMC. Radxa hit the same issue on the RK3588 boards and fixed it upstre…

USB-touchscreen doesn't work with Cubietruck 3.4.113. The touchscreen well works with versions 4.9.xxx, but doesn't work with 3.4.xxx. I connected the monitor 1920*1080 and a touchscreen to Cubietruck. Cubietruck smartly works in video browse mode, but the mouse and the keypad aren't always convenient for control. Especially at night, too loud clicks. I pasted a touchscreen on the monitor. It works with versions 4.xxx, but video doesn't work. And with versions 3.xxx on the contrary. What I should make that the touchscreen worked with version 3.4.113?

Hi, I'm using NetBIOS names when using ssh to access other CTs on my local network. Most of the CTs and other hosts are running Wheezy. Now I have a CT running Stretch and it's very difficult to access this host using 'ssh <stretch host name>' because it's not responding to the broadcas from the calling host. If I repeat the request (and broadcast for the name) multiple times then sooner or later the Stretch CT will respond in time. The timeout on the host doing the broadcast seems very short. Does anybody know where this timeout is specified and how to change it ? Thanks, Steven

Can the Audio port on the Orange Pi Win Plus A64 also output video (like TV output)? It seems like most of the orange Pi boards with an audio jack can do this and the CubieTruck (which is an A20 board) can do the same as well. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks!

Hi, I am having problems connecting my orange pi zero 3 to my TV via hdmi: No matter what I try the TV reports "no signal". Before I came to armbian I have tried the vendor-supplied debian and arch images and could not get hdmi output on any of them, so it might be that my micro-hdmi adapter is faulty or that the hdmi-port on the device itself is faulty, but over the weekend I cannot replace any hardware so I thought I try here to see if anyone has an idea on what to try. The image I am currently running is Armbian_community_24.5.0-trunk.58_Orangepizero3_jammy_current_6.6.17_gnome_desktop.img. When I log into the device I ca…

I cannot get SPI working on my Nanopi Duo or rather there is no /dev/spi*. I build a custom Kernel with the build process and Network and other stuff works. Loading the spi-spidev overlay in various ways did not help. (Loading via U-Boot, during runtime, combine the overlay and devicetree and compile it as whole) By the way, the Images from https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-duo/ are not even booting through U-Boot for me. Hello, My project does not allow me to use SD card to boot and run my application. I can use SD card as drive to save my data. Is there any alternative way to do so ? Has anyone built a micro rootfs for O-Pi-ZERO NOR Flash ? Does anyone have an idea of the MINIMUM SIZE that is required to do so, if 2MB is too less ? Thanks Nbird.

I wouldn't ask for help here if I could find enough information to solve my problem. My program takes user-space GPIO interrupts as signals. It depends on this feature and GPIO interrupts are not replaceable. Testing code is as follows (on Pin12/PA07/GPIO7) by using SysfsGPIO: echo 7 > /sys/class/gpio/export echo in > /sys/class/gpio/gpio7/direction echo falling > /sys/class/gpio/gpio7/edge Check if it works with command `cat /proc/interrupts`: watch -n3 "cat /proc/interrupts | grep sunxi_pio" After configuration, give GPIO7 a pulse by attaching it to 3V3. This method does works on Orange Pi 0+ H5 running Ar…

I have an Orange Pi PC Plus running the mainline Debian Stretch desktop version of Armbian, but lately I've been using it headless. When I'm logged in over ssh and shutdown it down using "sudo shutdown -h now", the ssh connection drops and the board's LED flashes then shuts off, giving every indication the board is off. However, power consumption doubles (increasing from ~1.2W to ~2.4 W)! The problem persists as long as the board is powered, so I presume the board is hung and never fully shutdown. Any thoughts as to what could be causing the board to hang when shutting down?

First time poster, hopefully I'll get along with all of you! I am currently trying to connect a DS18(b)20 cable to my Banana Pi M2+, which is running Jessie Desktop. I connected the 3,3 V to Pin 1, GND to Pin 6 and Data to Pin 7, as well as the recommended 4,7k Ohm resistor between them. Since, as I should have mentioned, I am an absolute beginner (literally just got into this a few days ago), I used a German tutorial for this, which told me to enter the following into my command module: After which my /sys/bus folder shows a "w1" folder, which it does. However, the cable itself cannot be found. After some tinkering, I found that w1-therm does not seem…

Hi guys, I've searched for some days now, but couldn't find any infos. My problem is: If I want to boot my Orange Pi Zero without Ethernet, it just wont start. It seems like it is waiting for me to put in the cable. This can't be normal, can it? I ask, because, what am I supposed to do if I like my device to connect exclusively through WiFi? Or connect to nothing at all, till I need some type of connection. For me, it is important to connect only through WiFi at the moment. The OS's I've tried: Armbian Debian Jessie "mainline" and "legacy", no difference between them. Thanks, Pyro

Hello, my orange pi pc has recently started to have reduced speeds. Where I used to get the full 100Mbit on lan, I now get around 30Mbit, be it sftp, samba, http. I am able to write with consistent speeds of over 10MB/s on the microsd so that can't be the problem (using dd) and full ~30MB/s on the attached sata disk. uname -a Linux orangepipc 3.4.113-sun8i #10 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 23 19:55:00 CET 2017 armv7l GNU/Linux Any ideas what I can check?

There is problem with the internal wifi on Orange Pi Lite and Armbian 5.20 (5.16 too). I installed tshark (and tcpdump) and try to capture wifi packets in monitor mode. Without success. What's better. Aircrack-ng works flawlessly. I think, pcap library has a problem with switching the device to monitor mode. "dumpcap: The capture session could not be initiated on interface 'wlan0' (wlan0: SIOCGIWPRIV: Argument list too long)." 'iwpriv' command runs without error, but the private command list is really long. Buffer too small?? Hello there, I am looking for some feedback/suggestion about an issue I have. Installed Armbian legacy kernel just yesterday. Hello guys, I am experiencing such a problem: When I boot my orangepi it starts and it is visible in the router's page view getting IP with dhcp. As soon as I connect over ssh (at least this is the way to trigger it, not sure if it is hapening automatically after a while), the device disappears from the network and it is no more available! I have seen this behaviour happening on 2 different routers. Then I rebooted the device again and in the router config I put the same IP statically linked to the device and I tried to connect over ssh and it worked without disappearing anymore. So it sounds like a bug somewhere using dhcp protocol. Is som…

Wifi driver could not be initialized, because I knew that these modules can operate on orange pc out of box, I began to research the problem. Problem was in fex file for orange zero, wifi_usbc_type = it´s without parameter, after I added some parameter ( "5" from working orange pc fex), wifi work like a charm. Hello, I am developing a project that will use the ethernet module ENC28J60 on orangepi pc plus, but I do not know how to configure armbian to enable using the module. Searching the internet I just found solutions for raspberry. I have already enabled the spi-spidev option using the armbian-config tool. What should I do now? Thanks.
