  6. Hi! great forum, great distros! thanks Igor! I installed Debian Wheezy on Cubieboard A10, using for NAS, EmonCMS, webcams. Working really good. 7. Hi, I am currently testing an Orange Pi 3 with your nightly distributions (for instance Armbian_5.83.190424_Orangepi3_Ubuntu_bionic_dev_5.0.9), and they work fine but have some issues. The main issue is that the ethernet link status display does not really work. When I unplug my ethernet cable, the "Link detected" is alwayes 'yes" within ethtool. As I am trying to configure my board in bonding mode with an external wifi usb adapter (because the embedded wifi is not yet supported by armbian for Orange Pi 3), my bonding is not working because the link status on eth0 is always yes. I have also checked /sys/class/net/eth0/carrier and it is always "1" e…

  10. I'm trying to use 1080p60 with a DVI-HDMI cable on an Orange Pi One so I run h3disp -m 1080p60 -d and restart. Monitor shows randomly moving white lines on both sides of the display (probably the console text all garbled) for a few seconds then goes to sleep. Tried with a TV (using an HDMI-HDMI cable) and it cycles between Unsupported Mode and No Signal. 1080p without the DVI flag works on the TV but the monitor doesn't even come out of sleep with it. Other resolutions seem to work fine with the DVI flag on the monitor, including 720p and 1080i. The monitor also works fine with a 1080p output from a PC. Hello, I have what I hope is a simple question, but I haven't been able to find an answer. - Orange Pi Plus2e - Debian Jessie Linux is only booting to a console prompt. I can log in, browse around which is great but I would like to explore the GUI. As I understand there are some screen resolution issues, however I do see the Arbian spash screen which looks like rendered video. Also, I'm seeing that H2/H3 Allwinner part design is missing a lot of multimedia/video support eg. Mali drivers. I liked the fact the Orange pi had 2G memory and embedded flash, but OS support is lacking (not complaining, just observation). Are broadcom…

I recently received my kit, which consists of the Neo, heatsink, and acrylic shell. Installed Debian_jessie_default.7z with Etcher onto a Kingston SDCIT/8GBSP. PCB 1.3+ uses a more sophisticated voltage regulator than earlier revisions... The temperature is excellent so far (only 40c). I can run some more tests if someone provides instructions. So these boards do not in fact require a heavy copper plane for heat dissipation. I did use a superior heat pad rather than the one that is provided with the heatsink kit. Ideally, you would want something like a 4mm or so copper shim with good quality thermal paste applied to bo…

  26. Maybe this is not strictly related to Orange Pi PC but a few weeks ago I had problems with booting my device - mainly OpenELEC and I had to debug it somehow using serial port and the terminal. Unfortunately my PC is rather far from the place where I keep OPiPC. So I was forced to prepare separate device - cheap STM32 MCU based terminal display with 2.2" LCD screen directly supplied from Orange Pi PC 3.3V. It can be used also with other devices which allow serial console debugging. Watch below videos for more details and the code: Maybe someone finds it useful.

  27. Hi everyone, Very green here. Basically I setup 1 of my orange pi a few months back with "Armbian_23.02.3_Orangepizero2_jammy_legacy_4.9.318". I recently bought another pi and wanted to set it up with a newer version. I see bookworm is now the latest. I have tried both CLI and Minimal but whenever I flash those into my micro SD the orange pi never boots up. My router doesnt see the connection, so it cant hand off an IP. I thought maybe it was a bad mini SD or a bad pi. But when I flashed the old jammy image into the same SD, the pi immediately picked up the connection, my router gave it an IP and I was able to log in as a root to the pi. I re…

  28. Hi all I have a project where I'll be deploying the same configuration (including IP addresses) to a multiple Orange Pi Zeros. There will be some slight differences (hostname, information in one script) but largely identical. I was thinking about using a Linux VM to run a script that changes a base image (from a pre-set up machine) makes the changes and burns an image onto microsd. Is this a viable approach? Will I need to change anything else (MAC address related stuff?) Cheers!

  54. Good evening. I am preparing an Orange PI Plus 2 in order to be the first computer for my 8 years old son. The idea is that he could learn Scratch by watching some video tutorials in YouTube The problem is that actually, if you pause a video, and the you want for it to restart, only video does it. Sound doesn't starts again. It remains muted. Then, if you click to watch another video, sound come back. But you loose it again if this second video is also paused. It's a bit annoying. Do you have the same issue ? Best regard. Maesstrissimo.

I need to use non-standard baud rate (125000) on the serial port. Communication works very reliably, but dmesg says: "Python sets custom speed on ttyS1. This is deprecated." What should my attitude towards it? Can I ignore it? I read, that it is necessary to make some changes in the "asm/termios.h". It is necessary ? Could it be a normal part of the kernel? Moreover - I do not know how to do it. Thanks.

  56. Hi, I use an OrangePi Zero as a race timer for a car. It is powered from the car. So when the car starts the OrangePi gets power and boots and when the car is turned off the OrangePi loses power and "turns off". This isn't ideal but I don't have a lot of options. I feel like this is a fairly common use case for electronics in cars especially ones like race timers etc. Unless I have a battery as well. I was wondering what are the best things to do to protect against the sudden power loss so that I don't corrupt anything? Is it possible to make parts of the file system read only maybe? Here is my little problem: Installed Armbian_5.14_Orangepipc_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop Realtek RTL 8188 plugged in into any USB port Followed Rudolfos tutorial Reboot - wireless works flawlessly Update via apt-get update/upgrade --> 8188 still recognized, but board locks up or reboots when I try to connect to an AP I am right now preventing updates to 5.14 as per attachement, but this is obviously not a preferred solution. The driver used is the 8192cu,the device ID is 0bda: 8176 Realtek 8188cus. Any directions? Best, -Thomas

  73. Hello Community! I am struggling with assigning numbers to I2C buses in my BPi, doing the same(?) thing in two different ways i am getting two different results. By default, there is only /dev/i2c-0 node available, AFAIK because HDMI uses this bus. 1. Using build-in overlay for i2c0 bus (overlays=i2c0 in /boot/armbianEnv.txt) enables another i2c bus. In this case, /dev/i2c-0 is the bus connected to pins 3 and 5 at 40-pin header. The other bus (enabled by default) becomes /dev/i2c-1. It doesn't matter how many times i reset my board, assignment doesn't change. 2. The second way is to create my own overlay by cloning this code and …
