Hello people, I'm using Armbian 5.30 - kernel 3.4.113 on a Nanopi NEO. and I'm relatively new to this stuff, so please bear with me. I successfully managed to install an LCD screen on SPI (ILI9341) using this command: sudo modprobe fbtft_device custom name=fb_ili9341 gpios=reset:1,dc:201,led:6 speed=16000000 rotate=90 bgr=1 So far so good, but the resolution of the screen is too little and can't load anything - for example Dosbox. I would want to replicate the trick that already exists on Raspberry/Raspbian, and that is to framebuffer a higher res screen (at least 640x480) on the tiny LCD's resolution of 320x240. This is the p…

Hi, during the spring I used h3disp - 720p50 -c 1 (on 5.24 with sunxi-tools 1.4.2) to change the resolution for my desktop but today when I did a clean install (armbian 5.30 Jessie Default) I get Unsupported board/kernel combination: Orange Pi Zero running 3.4.113-sun8i. Exiting Is there still a way to change the resolution (720x576 is too low for the gui app I need to run)? Thanks in advance! Nicke

Hello, I run Debian/Jessie on a bananapi pro. The board suddenly stopped working completely. When I plug the power supply, the red led shows up (not blinking) and nothing more, no sign of activity at all, like on screen (hdmi). It is very surprising as it has been running very well for two years now, with a 5V/3A power supply and a sandisk SD card (like those advised). I checked that the sd card runs well on my laptop, the filesystem was not broken and no sign of corruption so far, especially in the /boot directory, no changes made lastly in this directory : latest modification dater are a few months ago. …

Hello, I'm trying to get an "Orange Pi Zero" running with Wifi and OV534 (Sony PS3 Webcam). I can't get both running at once. Greetings, I've got 2 M1 boards in front of me. The FA is running their latest distribution: http://www.mediafire.com/file/kc44mm1mdahslho/nanopi-m1_debian-jessie_4.11.2_20170905.img.zip By default the device tree for the FA has the USB controller (usb@01c19000) marked as disabled and is missing the dr_mode = "OTG" attribute. Enable the controller and Add the dr_node property and the board comes up as a mass storage device in both Windows and Linux. The board running Armbian has exactly the same device tree entries, dmesg shows the USB controller is loaded and visible with lsusb -t. When a gadget module is loaded all appears to work on…

Hi, when I connect my external HDD - an Icy Box IB-RD2253-U31 (http://www.raidsonic.de/products/external_cases/soho_raid/index_en.php?we_objectID=3239) - to my Bananapi M1, running ARMBIAN 5.31 (stable Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 4.11.6-sunxi) the hard disk is not found. This is regardless of the HDD setup chosen, at least I tried with the two disks inside configured as JBOD as well as RAID1. After connecting the USB HDD, dmesg doesnt show any output, lsblk doesnt show it. Is there anything I can do about it to get it working, is it a firmware issue?

Hi everybody, I work on my Orange Pi Plus 2 since a few days now. I've installed Armbian with linux Kernel 3.4 (Debian Jessie) on eMMC. One of my main objectives is to bond the WiFi and the Ethernet interfaces in one interface called bond0 (I've seen many examples on how to do this on the Internet). My configuration seems to be good (it's based on the default interfaces.bonding file, just changed it with my WiFi parameters). When I restart networking service, none of my interfaces get up. I've tried to update/upgrade my stystem, reinstall ifenslave. I've also checked module list with lsmod, it returns a lot of names, but not "bonding" module. …

So far I was used to the Grub (and lilo) boot manager(s) but the Armbian 5.31 Bananapi Debian jessie next 4.11.5 image does some things differently. I have found the file /boot/armbianEnv.txt but none of the websites I found described what I should do with it. I tried to copy it to /etc but the changes did not take effect. I would like to remove the logo and have verbose boot messages. Could somebody help me to get there, please?

[Apologies. There seem to be a number of posting close to this subject. Trying to get a definitive view] So, with the 3.4.113 kernel the gc2035 driver fails when trying to identify the sensor. The problem lies in the sensor_init function where a read of the I2C/CCI bus fails. Before I break out the breakout board can anyone verify these basics please? I've tried the various suggestions for setting one of the GPIO pins prior to loading the modules but to no avail. Hello, I recently purchased a Banana Pi M2, and downloaded the latest desktop image to my SanDisk 32gb MicroSD card. Everything boots-up. However, the only interface that seems to be able to get onto the internet properly is wlan0 (Wireless). Ethernet, regardless of DHCP (registers properly) or Static does not seem to route properly. For example, I am not able to ping or SSH the device from another PC, and the Pi (itself) cannot ping/access any local IPv4 address as well. Internet access fails, and points to DNS not working properly (even though servers are specified). Tried many different methods, including taking management/control away from "NetworkManager", but …

I am using GPIO(CON3) pins 8 and 10 for a project. In BPI M1+, functions for those pins are PH0 and PH1 respectively. https://bananapi.gitbooks.io/bpi-m1-bpi-m1-plus-/content/en/bpi-m1+_gpio_pin_define.html But, when I added overlays=uart3 ,I didn't work properly . When I checked the overlay file sun7i-a20-uart3.dtbo , by changing it to .dts , I figured out that this overlay file uses PG6,PG7 pins, not PH0,PH1 pins. So, to modify the configurations without adding uart3 overlay in the /boot/armbianEnv.txt file, I wanted to edit the /boot/dtb/sun7i-a20-bananapi-m1-plus.dtb file. When I check the file, there are uart3_pins_a option and uart3_pins …

· Hello, So I tried to figure out the original dtb file used but the system by default when I boot the image without any fine configuration. But I couldn't find any information about the default dtb. I checked at /boot/boot.cmd , but nothing is mentioned for "setenv fdtfile" which was available in the old kernel. Hello everybody, I'm pretty new to Armbian and H3 boards. I own an Orange PI + 2 board brought more than 1 year ago, yesterday I started to play around with it and I've discovered that for some reason its Mali GPU doesn't support OpenGL ES and it's somehow related to it having 2 GB of RAM on board. I'm really not sure how it can be related, but that's what Armbian's changelog for v5.20 says: Later in v5.25 it says: So I just want to know if 2GB boards feature OpenGL ES support (as well as HW video decoding etc)? I tried to run glxheads, glxgears etc from mesa-utils package, but got some really poor FPS there + some games I used for …

I installed the experimental version of the NanoPi Neo Air distribution on my Air a month or two ago. At the time I believe Bluetooth was not working on that version. I don't see any indication that it is not working now, but it doesn't seem to be working on my install. Is Bluetooth working on the experimental kernel? If so, should I just re-install, or is it not hard to get it working on an existing install? I just installed the latest updates and rebooted, and that didn't fix it. The symptom that I'm seeing is that if I run bluetoothctl it prints a prompt, but seems to lock up.

Hello, all. My Orange Pi PC2 recently broke when doing an upgrade. So I hooked a serial cable to it and watched what it did. The error was that it couldn't find the dtb file. It was looking for "/boot/dtb/allwinner/allwinner/sun50i-h5-orangepi-pc2.dtb" and "/dtb/allwinner/allwinner/sun50i-h5-orangepi-pc2.dtb", but the former fails because the file is at "/boot/dtb/allwinner/sun50i-h5-orangepi-pc2.dtb". So, I put a simlink in dtb/allwinner called 'allwinner' and pointing to the parent directory. Now the device boots. I'm not sure if that's the proper fix, but it works for now and I'll fix it if I manage to break something with it later on. Thi…

Very grateful to armbian to provide such a good image! Armbian has released many images that have been packaged with OMV。 I am follow this link for a long time:http://kaiser-edv.de/tmp/NumpU8/ I'm happy to see more and more mirrors available。 I used one of the images named OMV_3_0_72_Orangepiplus2e_3.4.113.7z and it works good,Special thanks to tkaiser! There is another model(Orangepiplus2) that is better suited for NAS Because it has a sata interface https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-plus-2/ Can Armbian provide OMV images of the above motherboards? At last, sorry for my poor English.

Hi, I performed an apt-get upgrade on my system, and it installed the 4.13 kernel. After the reboot, i started getting the message "bad CRC - using default environment". I spent the whole day reading many threads but still didn't manage to come with a solution. I tried the symlink to /boot/dtb/allwinner from the PC2 forum, but with no luck. I bought this board recently, it is my first board and i am very new to this, although i have decent Linux knowledge. Could you point out what i might have done wrong or if i'm missing something?

Hi, Got an issue with some long latency/buffer on OrangePiPC. Legacy built kernel with RT (Armbian 5.32). The default output, Audiocodec Analog Stereo, exhibits a latency of about 500ms or somewhere there, it is actually a delayed play. Other outputs do not have such latency, eg if I connect a USB audio device, it is just fine with only a few ms of latency. If it was a generic setting that would have impact on the USB audio too, but it is not, USB audio plays without excessive latency. Tried to set as low as I could the default-fragments (=8) and default-fragment-size-msec (=3) in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf to have 24msec of buffer but to no a…

Just stumbled upon this new board by the Friendlyarm folks. http://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=197 Lots of signals exposed on the strip contacts, including Ethernet and USB, though magnetics and connectors aren't there, which makes this even more interesting to build thin appliances: you add connectors when you need them. Good! I'll probably order a couple to start playing with, but will take forever to ship over here.

Looking for recommended LCD screens for NanoPi Neo and Orange Pi Zero. I have some IoT ideas I want to explore. Does not have to be touch, and I'm pretty flexible on screen size. Actually, would like a couple of different screen sizes but bigger than an 128x64 OLED (I have that). Must be color. At least 320x240, preferably something 320x480. I just got two Orange Pi Zero systems today and want to create a couple of IoT devices along with the two NanoPi Neo systems I got recently. Performance does NOT have to be ideal, just reasonable (not going to game on it or watch action movies). The Zero means HDMI is not an option; given that, what interface is best - …

Hello! I asked this question here: https://github.com/zador-blood-stained/fel-mass-storage/issues/1, but I decided to ask again. Is there a way to boot the current mainline u-boot via FEL? Is it easy to support this issue? I would be happy to receive any help. Thanks, Aleksandr

I want to use an OPI zero (armbian 5.31) to log data from a smart meter to influxdb. Everything works, but after 5 hrs i cant ssh into the pi - also, no data is written to the db. The pi has heatsinks and the temperature is around 53°C. Now i tried it without the logging and after 5 hrs, the pi was again not reachable (i dont know, if it crashed or only the connection went down). Last try was with a pi lite which showed the same behavior. What could be the problem?

Hi there, I am a new user of OPi PC+, downloaded, flashed Armbian_5.20_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop.img basic setup OK, got IP, changed passwords etc, GUI starts. As I don't have USB keyboard/mouse, I've opened SSH session, then set export DISPLAY=laptop2:0 , then xterm. OK. From BT side it also looks ok: adapter blinks, I can find my BT keyboard/mouse using hcitool scan Now the problem: if I launch bluetooth-applet / bluetooth-assistant it CRASHES (assistant) at step of PAIRING device. (applet still alive). So my quiestion is, how to pair this remote device without "assistant", and make it available as "normal" keyboard/mouse? [device …

Hi, I am using orangepizero with Armbian_5.30_Orangepizero_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113 ubuntu server image. I have also installed mate desktop environment to enable my desktop on my waveshare 3.2 LCD. Now the issue is my desktop freezes in my LCD couple of minutes after boot. I have used heatsink with fan, armbianmonitor show operating temp 40-50 deg cel and cpu load when i run any application 30-40%. I observed one thing when my desktop freezes in my LCD, i can access my orangepi with VNC as separate session where i can see my desktop and perform any task flawlessly without any freeze. Any help here?

Hi, When I put a heavy load on my NanoPi NEO2, it locks up. The ethernet light keeps flashing, so there is still something alive? After a power reset, the NEO2 works again. as of some network release before the current (unsupported) 4.11.3 kernel, the networking has started having random value hw mac addresses on every boot. I suspect if you can do so and look @ your DHCP server, you will possibly see the orangepi (or whatever your hostname is) lurking there. Another way to do it if you have to, is to /sbin/ifconfig and get the HWaddr and look for that mac address on your dhcp server. I came by your post while trying to find a workable solution to assigning the mac on the orangepi zero 512 I am bringing up. Jim

I should probably start a new thread for this but it seemed appropriate to post here at this time of nght.. So the OPi Zero Plus 2 boards arrived and I duly set up the image on a 8GB SD card, connected the serial TTL to USB adapter and booted. Everything came up fine so I set up the wifi to my local network using nmtui. Again no problems. I did an apt-get update and upgrade and rebooted, all OK again. Having SSHed into the device I get very sluggish performance and pinging from another machine on the lan I see hugely variable pings ie variations from a few ms to over a second. I installed wavemon and it shows a very strong wifi signal (as expected). The ping…

Hello, recently got a pinebook. I have a strong Linux-on-PC-user background (running ArchLinux on my desktop & older netbook, and debian oldstable on my home server laptop), but not really a developer background and no experience with single board computers at all! Ubuntu Mate is happily chugging along right now, but video playback (h264 packed in .mkv) is abysmal to non-existent. I have tried these releases; the stable 0.6.2 first: AFAICS, it uses a frambuffer driver (fbturbo) under Xorg. video playback was more than choppy, and the UX drops to zero because the video window can't be resized and sticks to the screen, …

Hello. In my project, I want to use a linphone with support for the h264 codec. In repositories there is a version of linphone but without the specified codec. I tried to build a linphone from the source code, but failed. The matter is that the assembly of the dependent package belle-sip hangs (the assembly lasted 2 days). Tell me, does anyone have any experience in successfully building a linphone from git? Now I'm trying to build a linphone on the Orange Pi zero plus 2 H3 board.

I want to set my pi to use 1 cpu core, disable usb ports and set Ethernet link speed at 100Mb/s etc to reduce consumption however not all the changes will apply at once (see picture attached) If cpu is running at one core and ram at reduced speed, ethernet link speed will still be at 1gbps and the other way round when Link speed is at 100Mbps.

I know this is a well known topic but since I didn't find an issue like the one I'm having I felt the need of explaining it. I recently bought an Orange Pi Zero board + extension board with AV, micro and 2 additional USB + case. I have built a streaming media server called Mopidy, which is pretty cool but at certain times it completely hangs when I'm reproducing audio (by the way, I'm using only stable Debian / Ubuntu because kernel 4.11 isn't detecting the soundcard for some reason). Hi, I have noticed very strange behaviour of my OrangePi PC Plus. Device is connected to internet via Wifi. After successful connection, device is connected to VPN service. A cron script is checking every minute if VPN is working, and if not, it is restarting connection. On every hour, Network Manager is being restarted (you will see why is that so later). On every minute NTP is querryed for time synchronisation. After VPN restart or rebooting of device, device sends an e-mail notification via GMail. On eth0 there is DHCP server running (dnsmasq), which is providing internet to a device connected to OrangePi. So basically, you plug in ethernet cabl…

I just booted up a fresh install of Armbian 5.24 (Armbian_5.24.161128_Orangepizero_Ubuntu_xenial_3.4.113) on my Orange Pi Zero and I can't seem to get IPv6 working. It worked fine on Armbian 5.22. After setting up my static IP address, I can't SSH or Ping to the board anymore. The board shows up on my router list of connected devices, and the Pi Hole works normally. I flashed a new SD card and went step by step to see what was causing the problem. I resize the filesystem, update and upgrade the system, then I set up the static IP, so this happens. Hi, I own the first Orange Pi (A20, VGA, HDMI, NAND, 4xUSB, WiFi). I notice there is no Armbian image for download anymore. The last one I still have is a 3.4.113, 5.25 Ubuntu/Xenial-default-desktop (currently running from the NAND very well, but I can't seem to run the wifi in AP mode). Is Armbian for this board is dropped for good ? Is there a way to update my 5.25 to last version without breaking everything ? Or maybe convert a A20 image to this board, using the working image I'm currently using ? Thanks !
