  3. Hi, Creating a build for OPiPCPlus, mainline/dev/4.11, xenial, desktop. Need to enable the UDA1380 device in my local kernel build, yet I see some ..obstacles.. Tried initially to do a KERNEL_CONFIGURE="yes" in compile.sh but after started the compile and reached the point of menuconfig the UDA1380 option did not got presented (might be because there is no tristate string in mainline sound/soc/codecs/Kconfig..) so I reverted it back to normal. After the first attempt, I tried by modifying the lib/config/kernel/linux-sun8i-dev.config and added "CONFIG_SND_SOC_UDA1380=m", tried the compile again and waited to finish, yet at the end, although the ot…

  6. Hi, I have an Oracle PI PC+ which will not boot without the hdmi connected. If you disconnect the hdmi once the board has booted it crashes or at least stops responding to ping/ssh over the ethernet. I've used pretty much all the builds I can find on armbian.com including the nightly builds with don't show a display at all but still fail without the hdmi. I've also tried booting from SD card and the emmc almong will messing with the /boot config files such as setting the console to serial and can't see anything interesting in the messages file. 8. I'm currently running ARMBIAN 5.25 Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 4.10.12-sunxi on my Cubietruck, which otherwise works fine as a headless data and media server. However, as I don't need any Bluetooth service whatsoever in the given environment, I have been trying to get rid of it - in vain. Is there a safe and lasting method of preventing the Bluetooth module from loading on reboot? Can it be stripped from the system at all completely? Many thanx in advance

I am trying to setup a logitech squeezebox server on an Orange Pi Zero so that it can be carried around and serve my collection from a large micro-sd card. This is the 3rd iteration of this already (first was given as a gift, 2nd got fried by 12V, and now this one) and in the past I've been using hostapd to connect while away from home. I'd like to explore the possibility of using a Bluetooth Personal Area network, but I am not sure if there is a stack that can achieve this for me. The idea is that I would use bluetooth instead of wifi to connect to the orange pi zero and establish a tcp/ip connection that would allow me to control the server using the phone…

  15. I have my Orange Pi Zero flashed correctly (I think) with the green light solid and the red light flashing on every so often. I've got the unit plugged into a charger that provides sufficient power. The devices SoC warms up hinting that it is actually booting. When plugged into my network the activity LEDs do not flash nor does my router detect it. I'm considering connecting my keyboard to connect it to wifi blind. If I plug it in after boot nothing changes. What should I do? How can I connect it to my wifi blind? I do not have the shield for video out.

  18. Hi. I would like to install Armbian on Cubieboard2 with eMMC as internal storage and have faced some problems. The first challenge was to make eMMC accessible, it was solved using .fex from cubieboard sdk for this revision (also tried cubieboard2dual.fex, but without any effect). The second problem was behavior of nand-sata-install included in desktop image - it overwrite wrong root partition (external SD instead of eMMC), but it was also solved using latest version of nand-sata-install. But after installation, system isn't booting from eMMC. Since root filesystem is successfully copied to eMMC, I think there is problem with bootloader. Is there an…

  33. Greetings, I recently purchased an Orange Pi Zero for the purpose of Pi-Hole. I have been running Pi-Hole on a Raspberry Pi-1 under Jessie and the stability was great. As the title says, my OpiPC don't want to boot. It starts to boot, with UART console I can see u-boot loading and doing its job, but just when it would start the kernel the console gets borked with non-ascii characters. After this, the board just hangs there. I've tested with 3 different images (written out by Etcher), checked the images checksum and checked the SDcard with F3. This setup worked fine a month ago, when I last had the time to play with it. Since than, the board was just lying on my desk, turned off.

Am I missing something? I don't see a good reason for this to happen. Is there a common method to fix this if it is a known issue?

  54. Hi, So far was working with headless Armbian images. Now I need to attach an HDMI monitor to my OPi ONE. Generated a desktop Armbian 5.24 jessie kernel 3.4.113, attached the HDMI monitor and booted. I saw the inital seconds of U-Boot logging the discovery of the monitor and a few other things and then it went blank. I guess after some reading in the forum that there is no display manager included in the distro or is there some other problem? Is there some build option that we could include a manager (eg KDE/XFCE/etc) in the image generation proccess? Or if there is any guide that gives steps for adding a display manager in Armbian to a not-so-knowledgab…

  56. I just wanted to share some instructions on how to control all GPIO pins on the OrangePi Zero Plus 2 board. These instructions are meant for newbies but it can be extremely helpful if you are new to Armbian, OPI and GPIO. At least it would have been for me. There is a total of 17 different pins to control according to the schematic below. These pins are highlighted in blue numbers that indicate what GPIO port they are available at. Use these numbers in order to know that pins to control. Look for instructions further down. First off some basics: Activate a pin by exporting it. For example. In order to activate IO-0 run: echo "…

Due windows limitation, there is only one (first) partition (fat/ntfs) can be visible. 60. I'm working in a project that needs to use 12 GPIO pins (plus serial!) on the Orange Pi Zero. To achieve that, I need to disable at least one of the I2C interfaces in the 26-pin header. Following the instructions on https://linux-sunxi.org/I2Cdev, I have decompiled, edited and recompiled /boot/config.bin, but I still can't access any of the pins used by the I2C ports. Specifically, what I have done is to edit the decompiled script.bin.fex file, and in sections named [twi0] and [twi1], changed twi_used=1 to twi_used=0. After that, running a simple program that sets the pins to input and reads its status allways returns 1, even if the pin is connected to ground or…

  62. I installed Armbian xenial 3.4.112 on an Orange Pi PC in July of 2016. It ran non-stop until sometime in February. I realized it was no longer sending data to the internet. When I checked, the Orange Pi PC was still powered. However, the green+yellow ethernet LEDs were both blinking together at what looked like 2sec intervals. After only a short time of running, the CPU was already 84C. When I originally had put the Orange Pi PC into service, it would remain close to 43C. I connected a monitor and keyboard. It booted and a look at syslog showed the eth0 was looping on `DHCPDISCOVER`. I tried `ifconfig etho down` and `ifconfi…

However I seem not to be able to download the kernel sources> sudo apt-get source linux-image-next-sunxi gives me the E: Unable to find a source package for linux-4.9.12-sunxi Error. I checked the directions for /etc/apt/sources.list.d/armbian.list but that was already in place Am I missing something?? Tx for any pointers! Jer

  99. Dear Armbian community, Thanks for your gret effort. I'm struggling to make my 3.5 jack audio output delivering some other sound than just constant hissing noise. 100. Hi guys, I just installed Kodi on my Orange Pi Lite running Armbian. Everything worked very well, except for the fact that that there seemed to be no audio at all through my tv. I am a beginner, so I really don't know what to do at this point. I saw someone talking about editing the /etc/asound.conf file so it will transmit sound through the HDMI cable. However, I have no idea how to open a file in the Terminal. I would love to (at least) know how to open a file in the Terminal. Thanks in advance, TheNooter.
