Hi! I have Banana PI and LVDS 5" with touch screen. I installed latest image and folow procedure to enable it: and modify /etc/module to support touch screen, But I find out there is no bananapilcd5.bin in /boot/bin folder. Then I had downloaded banana_pi_5lcd.bin from lemakaer page (https://github.com/LeMaker/fex_configuration/tree/master/bin), and execute above line again (first rename it and put into bin folder). LCD Screen is now working but I have no touch screem Am I missing something ?

The WiFi device is a Realtek 8821cu and system loads driver correctly when I do a cold boot or if I hot-plug it, but it fails in a warm boot. After doing many tests, I realized that if I plug the WiFI dongle in a non-powered USB 2.0 hub and I connect this latter to the NanoPi Neo's USB 2.0 port, then it also works. 42. I own an orange pi PC PLUS for about a year and when I got it, I tested it and it worked fine when it booted up from the internal MMC, then I tried to make a server and I think I messed up something with the LAMP I was trying to make so I stashed the PI to play with it later. Now when I turn on the PI, it only loops and never loads the OS, so I downloaded Focal and buster from this link and burned them to an SD and it also loops in this screen, https://imgur.com/WzikUoo what could be wrong? my idea is to reinstall the OS to the internal MMC so I can then install home assistant. thanks in advanced.

  44. Hello, I am curious to hear how accurate the measurement of temperature is from the onboard sensors, particularly in my case for the Banana Pi M2+. While I do understand that the BPi M2+ suffered from poor choices for thermal management from the manufacturer both in hardware and software, I believe that thankfully Armbian has worked out the kinks on the software side, hasn't it? I am running the latest noble image, here's what I noticed. The temperature as shown by the sensors and armbianmonitor commands never really goes below 60° even on idle with ambient temperatures of around 25 to 30 degrees. 46. I have root partition on SATA drive (/dev/sda1). I tried to use vanilla kernel, but it doesn't boot and even doesn't show HDMI output (I set root=/dev/sda1 in boot.cmd and recompiled boot.scr of course). But the legacy kernel with the same configuration works. Any suggestions why?

  47. On legacy kernel, Armbian_5.10_Bananapipro_Debian_jessie_3.4.112.7z, if I use /boot/script.bin with https://github.com/LeMaker/fex_configuration/raw/master/bin/banana_pi_35lcd.bin, my lcd works properly. But on Vanilla kernel, Armbian_5.10_Bananapipro_Debian_jessie_4.5.2.7z, if I change /boot/script.bin with https://github.com/LeMaker/fex_configuration/raw/master/bin/banana_pi_35lcd.bin, my lcd doesn't work. What should I check more?

  48. Firstly many thanks to all the hard work from the Armbian developers - it installed onto the eMMC of my new Orange Pi Plus2E first time with no problems I'm trying to benchmark the board (with a fan/heatsink) and without. The standard Armbian runs it at a maximum of 1.296GHz but I'd like to run it faster. I'm new to using fex, but this appears to push it up to 1.536GHz with a Vdd of 1.5V: cd bin2fex /boot/bin/orangepiplus2e.bin orangepiplus2e.heatsink.fex sed -i "s/1296000/1536000/g; s/1320/1500/" orangepiplus2e.heatsink.fex cp /etc/default/cpufrequtils /etc/default/cpufrequtils~ sed -i "s/1296000/1536000/" /etc/default/cpufrequtils fex2bin orangepiplus2e.heatsink.…

  49. Hello all, I recently got an orange pi pc plus, and am going to try to use it as a server. However, I do not want it to boot into the desktop GUI as this wastes precious computational resources. How do I force the Pi to boot into the terminal? I am using armbian in order to have the system boot off of the EMMC flash memory. Thanks.

  50. Hello! I recently started setting my board up, and came across all the information needed to enable the LCD use for it. For info, I've updated to 5.20. I have gone through the whole process to change the script.bin to fex, edit, change back, copy and sync. The changes are saved, I have even made a copy of the script.bin to script.fex in order to see if the new script contains the changes I made. All is there. It seems to be the problem another user had in this thread: http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/841-bananapro-lemaker-5in-lcd-legacy-kernel/ In this case I chose the lcd_if=4 since it is what they provide at sunxi, but it didnt work. I then ch…

  54. Hello. I have my cubietruck (cubieboard 3) configured to boot from sd card, and other files stored on hdd (sata). Few weeks ago (~15.06.2017) I updated armbian by "apt-get dist-upgrade". It worked well until I switch power off. Now it can't boot from sd card. If I remove it - boot from nand is ok. Whet sd card installed - no activity on display, just blinkin LAN port. If I boot from nand, I cat mount both SD and HDD and explore filesystem. But I can't find any logs, updated since 17.06 (time then I switch it off). My guess problem is new kernel, from 4.11.4 to 4.11.5. Please help me fix this, I can take files and content from SD and HDD, but I don…

  56. A couple of weeks ago I took delivery of an Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 H3 it has the form factor I wanted, eMMC support and HDMI which implied I could run a desktop; the H3 was also the variant that seemed to have the best support. Since then I have been trying to get a stable usable desktop environment working. I tried the latest version of Armbian legacy server specifically for this board and that works fine as far as the server version goes so then I tried to add a basic desktop but that didn't work the xOrg driver said there were no screens present and everything I tried after going to Google University failed. Then I tried a couple of distros from the Orange Pi website b…

  58. Hi! Upgrading to the mainline kernel removes /dev/snd/seq, which is needed for MIDI applications. Synthesizers are my main interest in using these boards, so that is a big loss. Since the module is enabled in the legacy kernel, perhaps this is unintentional and could be added to the mainline kernel? Thank you for all your work. Regards, brkl

Apparently, I have to do "echo $GPIO-Number > /sys/class/lirc_gpio/tx_gpio_pin" which I did with the right pin so in theory, the driver should be set up the way it is supposed to be. Hello, I'm running a Cubietruck with legacy kernel (3.4.113) since a long time. The use of the legacy kernel is mainly due to the fact that I'm booting from onboard NAND and this was not supported by the mainline kernel for a long time. Meanwhile Armbian's mainline kernel became Stretch in its server flavor and I'm thinking about migrating. However I'm suspicious this will still break NAND boot, despite the fact that the documentation claims plus "missing NAND support" is not listed under "known issues" for the Cubietruck. Can anyone confirm or deny that mainline kernel meanwhile does/does not support booting from NAND on Cubietruck? And if…

Hello folks! I'm investigating an odd issue of the OPi R1 board, with the image Armbian_5.83_Orangepi-r1_Debian_stretch_next_4.19.38. With this version of software the board works fine, but apparently the wifi cannot reconnect after a disconnection (error: association request to the driver failed) The only workaround I found is to manually bring down the wifi interface and then back up; then the reconnect is almost immediate. I tried to disable the NetworkManager and now I'm using /etc/network/interfaces file to handle the connections but the problem still persists. I checked the issue with another R1 board and so I can exclude that the boa…

  89. Hi does install to emmc works for orange pi plus 2 h3 board? I will be getting my plus 2 soon so want to know is it supported in arbian jessie yet. Regards, -- Avinash G A

  90. I received my Pi Pc plus today which is strange because I thought I ordered the Pi pc. I downloaded the armbian Jessie desktop and used 7zip to extract it to the sd card. It will not load off the card. It would not load raspbian for the raspberry Pi. What it is doing is loading android whether the sd card is inserted or not. Can anyone offer suggestions to try? OS downloaded from here: http://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc/ It has emmc I can't even make some of the things work on android.??

  91. I've just started using armbian yesterday and one of the first things that i'm trying to do is use my cheap USB wireless module. The chipset is the RTL8188, but the armbian originally recognised and loaded the RTL8192eu driver. When trying to connect with 8192 driver it always returned "Bad Password". Changing the /etc/modules-load.d/modules.conf to 8188cus initially seemed to work, but on the validation stage itsimply freezed and automatically rebooted, repeating it for as many times as i tried. I've also test with others like 8192eu/8192cus/8188eu/8188cu and all of then either returned no wireless network found or freeze and reboot. Is there any way to solve th…

  93. Started by IgorS,

I have seen many tutorials about connecting real time clock hardware on Orange Pi and Raspberry Pi. What i didn't like was removing of fake-hwclock service, because I want that RTC works when it is connected, and fake-hwclock when RTC is not connected. Therefore, I changed /sbin/fake-hwclock script to work in this way. So, here is how to do this, tested on OrangePi+2E, Armbian Ubuntu legacy kernel: Purchase cheap DS3231 module on eBay (cca. $1) like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DS3231-AT24C32-IIC-Modul-High-Precision-Real-Time-Clock-Module-Arduino-New-/292041844936?hash=item43ff0ce8c8:g:d80AAOSwdGFYtsFP Put battery in module. 94. Is it possible to add some gpio chip select for support more than one chip select on board ? Loooked on https://github.com/armbian/linux ... ers/spi/spi-sunxi.c I am not found any support of gpio here. Also here https://github.com/armbian/linux/blob/sun8i/drivers/spi/spi-sunxi.h we can see that only one chip select can be used: /* About CS */ #ifdef CONFIG_ARCH_SUN8IW1P1 #define SUNXI_CS_BITMAP(ch) (ch%2 == 0 ? 1 : 3) #define SUNXI_CS_NUM(ch) (ch%2 == 0 ? 1 : 2) #endif #ifdef CONFIG_ARCH_SUN9IW1P1 #define SUNXI_CS_BITMAP(ch) (ch == 3 ? 7 : 1) #define SUNXI_CS_NUM(ch) (ch == 3 ? 4 : 1) #endif #ifndef SUNXI_CS_BITMAP #defi…

  96. Hi there, I'm using a Cubietruck with Ubuntu-Server 16.04.3 legacy. To make ssh-login more secure I changed to public-key and disabled login with user/password. Everything works fine, but at login I can't see the welcome screen any longer. Not a big problem, but it would be nice to get help. Thx!
