  1. I have a 5B and it came in a kit with the 10.1" touchscreen because I wanted to try to do a kiosk. I used Armbian Lunar rolling to get the OS installed on the emmc but I haven't been able to get the touchscreen working. It uses a breakout board to split the LCD2 connector into two connections on the display (I'm assuming one is touch and one is display) and when it's all plugged together, nothing happens. I've tried enabling and disabling both orangepi5lcd dtds and it doesn't help. When I do a dmesg (regardless of the screen being attached) I have Goodix i2c error for touchscreen@14 I've been doing Rockchip SBCs …

Hello, I am trying to boot my 4C+ from SPI. I soldered the chip and after adding "overlays=spi-jedec-nor" and "param_spinor_spi_bus=1" in "/boot/armbianEnv.txt", "ls /dev/mtdblock0" returns a result. After running "nand-sata-install" the entry "Boot from SPI - system on SATA, USB or NVMe" is missing.

  7. Hello, just yesterday I got my new Orange Pi 5B. Unfortunately I'm facing the issue, that I cannot see any EMMC on Armbian. The Debian image that is delivered by Orange Pi itself is giving me access to the EMMC - so it's there with 256GB physically. lsblk shows only the SD card and zram drives. gparted is not starting up after installation at all. This is valid for all official downloadable versions like Jammy, Bullseye, Bookworm... Is there any driver available I would have to activate to use the EMMC device with the Armbian images? I'd really like better to run the board without SD card. Any idea?

Hi guys, I need to be able to see the pins on my board. In the official distribution of Orange Pi, I was able to install the Xunlong WiringOP script. I know I can use /sys/class/gpio/ to define the pins and use them, but that's not what I want. I would like to be able to use something like the "gpio readall" command.

  11. I see that there is a lot of work ongoing on improving the UEFI boot support for Rock 5B and this is quite exciting. In my view this seem to be the ideal route for future SBC boards. However, I am yet to try it so I am still a novice in the area. How do you guys look at the future of UEFI vs U-boot for Linux on SBC’c in general and on the Rock 5B in particular? Will the UEFI version be as capable as a u-boot version or do you see limitations?

  12. I am using a Linux rockpi-4cplus with 5.15.93-rockchip64 (bullseye). I plan to use SPI1 (GPIO1_A7, GPIO1_B0, GPIO1_B1, GPIO1_B2), and then add in a 2nd device on this SPI bus via a custom CS GPIO pin (GPIO4_D5). I could not find the corresponding script file (.DTS) online (on Github) associated with the object file (rockchip-spi-spidev.dtbo). Please could someone point me to it - I can only find files for "sunxi-DT-overlays". So I decided to create my own DTS file, as follows: /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { fragment@0 { target = <&spi1>; __overlay__ { #address-cells = <1>; …

  16. Hi, An old problem, since I got the board which is 4C. Not a + - or whatever but the plain C. Symptoms: 1. HDMI worked randomly, maybe every 10th...15th boot lead to a working system, or rather to a visible HDMI-connection. But now switching on-off does not help at all. 2. Quite often one can get the board booting to the point where it asks for the password, and after clicking ok, it switches the screen off, and won't return. So the telly says that "no signal". 3. When switching on the board the tv set sees that there's someone on the hdmi port, and shows the booting sequence, and finally goes to Armbian's graphical mode asking for t…

  33. I was wondering if the Armbian 11 Bullseye release would get a release candidate for the following ppa's for Panfrost: ppa:liujianfeng1994/panfork-mesa ppa:liujianfeng1994/rockchip-multimedia Because I was really hoping to use Debian over Ubuntu for my purposes of familiarizing myself with the distro, but only Jammy so far has a candidate for these. I also tried manually installing the Panfrost/Panfork drivers on Bullseye and only got it working once before borking my entire system, and I cannot replicate it. The reason I noticed is that on the downloads page for the rockpi4 it is still showing 22.11 as the current images because that page is showing the 4c info, with links provided to the other variants. However for unknown reason I cannot boot from microSD. I am used to that the Armbian boot loader should switch to microSD when detected so other OS can be used. Does not work though. It always starts booting from SPI which is fine in theory and then jumps to eMMC which boots fine. With SD inside it does the same. If I remove the eMMC module u-boot stucks to PXE which obviously fails and then drops to U-Boot shell. I played with that shell for a while including recovery…

However, after using armbian-config to attempt to transfer the OS and bootloader to the eMMC card, nothing actually changes. It says it formats the card and then goes through the process of transferring the files, or at least it looks like it does. But when I reboot it it's still running on the SD card and no files appear to have been transferred to the eMMC. fstab lists the UUID of the SD card and not the eMMC at all; this is also true of the bootenv section of armbian-config. Hi, I had to change the Rack 1 HDD because I got an email telling me that this disk was broken. So I ordered new discs to make my replacement. When I put my new disk my problem started. For information my old disk was perfectly visible before I changed it and the led was functional too. I have a strange problem and I'm afraid it's hardware. Currently I have Rack 1 (HDD 1) which no longer detects my disks, there are no more LEDs lighting up, we can clearly hear the HDD lighting up, but it is not visible in the CLI and not via the WebUI. 53. Hello There! I'm currently using a Rock 4SE, tagged it as 4B because armbian says I should use the version for the board. I'm using a manually built image of armbian, though without any changes. I'm currently trying to figure out how to get faster boot times on SDDMC. So far: 1 - I've disabled some systemd services. Bluetooth related services have made a big difference. 2 - I've tried to disable USB and network support on U-Boot, though unsuccessful, in order to make U-Boot spend less time before booting the kernel. By applying some patches to U-Boot I got to the point where it either compiles and doesn't start the system because of some …

As per the title: Using the image Armbian_22.11.2_Rock-5b_bullseye_legacy_5.10.110 Formatting an nvme ssd partition as BTRFS and running the armbian-install utility, install using SPI to boot, targeting ththe btrfs partition, and selecting BTRFS in the prompt results in a failure to boot. Reformatting that same partition as EXT4 and rerunning armbian-install (and making no changes to the data loaded to /de/mtdblock0) targeting the EXT4 partition, and the device boots using the SPI loader.

  100. Howdy, Just wanted folks to know that debian bullseye is generally getting what I need done. Specially Welcome to Armbian 22.11.1 Bullseye with Linux 5.10.72-rockchip-rk3588 is working. It is working headless just fine. Now what is not working for me. The HDMI is not showing up at all. Between my KVM and ultra wide monitor it may not be an OS issue. SD-card boot is the way I am going. Manual partitioning of the NVME was needed to install. It felt like I needed to reboot a few times to get the NVME to boot. Overall it was a better experience than the experience on the Firefly station P2 competing with Station OS. Thanks…
