I installed the latest Armbian image and used a 1080P portable monitor to finish the install process. But when I use my bigger monitor with 2560x1440 resolution, it cannot output signal via HDMI. I searched about it, but most of them are about windows/x86 contents. Any idea about that?

Hi, I'm trying to setup CM3588Plus NAS 3 x 4tb vp4300 nvme drives OpenMediaVault updated. Drives are setup to RAID5 with ext4. the OS is reporting that ssd temps getting to 63-68C while idling, and likes to creep up to 75C where if I'm correct thermal throttling starts to kick in. the SBC is in open air, no case/enclosure. room temp 21C. How to find the cause and solve it? Amy recommendations setup (change the fs) etc. Thanks a mill.

Hello guys! I bought https://aliexpress.ru/item/1005005675856892.html. As I know, there is no 3D acceleration in Debian Bookworm. So, my desigion is to install Armbian Jammy Gnome desktop. My questions are: 1) In what moment should I perform trick ? 2) Legacy is the only system I can install, or is it any way to install current system? I wish kernel v6 to be installed, but not the RC kernel. My experience with SMB is Rapberry Pi 3 B and 4 B. I used to install only Raspbian on that boards. Wish me luck guys :-))

I'm having an aggressive memory leak issue I can't place: Within 5 minutes the 4GB are full. htop and top don't show a massive program growing unbouded. `df` doesn't show a tmpfs that is too large. Only `slabtop` is imforative: OBJS ACTIVE USE OBJ SIZE SLABS OBJ/SLAB CACHE SIZE NAME 26638624 26638624 99% 0.12K 832457 32 3329828K kmalloc-128 So `kmalloc-128` is growing without bounds. As I understand it kmalloc is a collection of smaller memory allocations? I've tried using a previous kernel version (5.10.16 and 5.10.12) but nada. I've disabled docker, and that along with omv were the only services running…

Linux Hell64 5.8.17-rockchip64 #20.08.21 SMP PREEMPT Sat Oct 31 08:22:59 CET 2020 aarch64 GNU/Linux I've been testing the performance and comparing to another NAS I have (WD PR4100) and the Helios64 performance has not been fairing well. Setup are almost identical on the same switch connected gig ethernet. Using SAMBA ,NO Raid. Testing with SATA drives HD's previously formatted for NTFS. and UAS USB 8 Bay DAS. Reading from Helios64 to Windows 10 PC I achieve expected 113MB/s and from USB attached to Helios 110MB/s. Writing speeds are very poor and as can be expected worse on the directly attached USB DAS. Howdy. I m running a Helios64 on Armbian 21.02.1 Buster with Linux 5.10.63-rockchip64. I realise this is somewhat old, but it works for me. Hi! I have the problem that when I try to boot with any Kernel other than 4.4.x, U-boot gives me the "Bad ARM64 Image Magic" Error and stops booting. I can build my own 4.4 Kernels without any problem, those will boot fine. But If I try any newer kernel, for example a NEXT Kernel (package linux-image-next-rockchip), or a DEV Kernel (package linux-image-dev-rockchip), or even if I compile my own 5.3 Kernel, a boot attempt always results in the Bad Magic error. I also have this problem when I install a whole 5.3 Armbian Image (for example https://dl.armbian.com/rockpro64/Buster_current_desktop) I have three RK3399-…

I wanted to upgrade from the previous release to the current one. apt update & apt upgrade and reboot worked fine but I noticed it was still on the 5.10 kernel so I used the config utility to switch to 6.7 and now I can't get a display output on HDMI 1 or 2 and its not getting an IP address either. I'm booting from M.2 NVME. Is there any way to fix my setup?

Hi, I would like to make backup(s) of my system. The system (debian) is installed on sata SSD @ slot 1. I would like to have the backup of the system written to zfs pool on the other slots as an image. Which in case of system SSD failure, I could write back to a new SSD installed on the same slot 1, by booting to a rescue system from micro sd card. Have this kind of functionality already been implemented? Or parts of it? Linux has a bunch of backup solutions, but I suspect they might not work with the helios64 box (sd card, internal ssd). And my only helios64 box is in "production" use, so "trial and error" method is not the first option in my min…

Hello, when i installed the helios64 initially i had the problem with the fans spinning at 100% (or really loud) and i solved it somehow. It was working fine with the fans spinning for one second when starting and shutting down the device. Now i finally updated the NAS with sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade sudo omv-release-upgrade sudo reboot and after the reboot the fans are now spinning really loud again all the time. Is anyone aware of an easy solution or a quick fix? Someone else had the same problem at https://forum.openmediavault.org/index.php?thread%2F42550-fans-go-on-full-and-stay-there-after-doing-an-update-in-omv-web-control-panel-he%2F= but it…

Hello everyone, Hello everyone, I have installed Armbian Bookworm 23.11.1 (kernel 5.10.110). The fan control does not work. The fan only runs at level 1. None of the many patches I tried worked. The last one tried was this: https://forum.radxa.com/t/guide-on-how-to-customize-you-pwm-fan-curve/17442 I can adjust the fan manually, but the automatic doesn't work. The "policy" file (/sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/policy) cannot be permanently changed to "step wise" (logged in as root). After restarting it is back to "user_space"... The access rights are: -rw-r--r--1 root root 4096 Feb 11 02:42 policy …

Hi. At first I'd like to apologize for the tone of this post, but there are things that I've been fighting with, without any success, for a long time. Problem 1. I have, as it seems, a very common problem with Armbian on RK3399. I burned Armbian 23.8.1 for the Rock Pi 4C+ onto an eMMC module, which booted, but there is no HDMI video output. I can't SSH into it over ethernet and provide more details because the server is disabled by default. I assume that the problem here is the same one as I often see coming back to all RK3399 boards and the solution is always the same - "libreelec patches for the HDMI subsystem" (whatever they are). If it'…

I used both buster and ubuntu images (Armbian_5.91_Nanopineo4_Debian_buster_default_4.4.179_desktop.img and Armbian_5.90_Nanopineo4_Ubuntu_bionic_default_4.4.179_desktop.img), both have no wifi, only show "device not ready". So I extracted firmware from official friendly desktop image and unzip to /lib/firmware/rkwifi/ and wifi works. I'm a newbie and hope this could be fixed properly soon. For those new to linux like me, download the attachment, extract everything to /lib/firmware/rkwifi/, reboot and wifi should be there. ap6212.zip

Is it possible to activate PCIe ASPM L1 substates with the NanoPi R6C / RK3588s Soc in general? > lspci -vvv | grep ASPM LnkCtl: ASPM L1 Enabled; RCB 64 bytes, Disabled- CommClk+ L1SubCap: PCI-PM_L1.2+ PCI-PM_L1.1+ ASPM_L1.2+ ASPM_L1.1+ L1_PM_Substates+ L1SubCtl1: PCI-PM_L1.2- PCI-PM_L1.1- ASPM_L1.2- ASPM_L1.1- My M.2 NVMe SSD supports all L1 substates but setting pcie_aspm.policy to "powersupersave" has no effect. Max is "powersave" to activate ASPM L1 and that works. Is this a limitation of the SoC or just not implemented in the armbian driver / kernel?

I want to use the mainline u-boot spl to load the u-boot proper(u-boot.itb) from nvme, so that the only part off the nvme is the tpl/spl in the emmc/sd/spi flash. But now the mainline u-boot has no pcie driver and no nvme support in spl. I have found the radxa guys using their u-boot in spi flash to boot kernel from nvme. But their pcie driver(https://github.com/radxa/u-boot/commit/096f2c16bbfa24c93a4c87e31334d5b5064dfd0a) has a limitation: It can not be used in u-boot spl, or it would not function properly in u-boot proper and fail the boot. After some frustrating tryings and compare with the linux driver, I found that the port initialization proce…

Hi all, today I used rsync to copy some music files from an attached USB drive to my NVME M2 SSD drive and noticed the Nanopi was getting very hot. I have it housed in an official metal case with a fan. The fan didn't come on despite the temperature of 80 + , the case was very hot to the touch. I turned it off in the end in case it got damaged. Any suggestions appreciated. The board is running the latest Buster from here.

Hello! I have OrangePi4 and it works quite well out of the box with Armbian desktop latest. However there were some minor problems, this is the first one: Video resolution was incorrect by default in console framebuffer. The screen is 1920x1080, but default was 1280x720. The solution is adding extraargs=video=1920x1080@60 To /boot/armbianEnv.txt . The part after first = is passed to the Kernel command line and kernel enables the resolution. This have fixed my problem mostly, however, the video output is enabled only during late boot. This is not a big problem, but it would be better if the screen lit up immediately after the computer is powere…

Hi, I'm seeing the following error in Chromium when trying to play youtube, the video loading screen never opens the video. I have installed chromium-browser (+libv4l-rkmpp, +ffmpeg, +rockchip-multimedia-config) from the ppa: https://launchpad.net/~liujianfeng1994/+archive/ubuntu/rockchip-multimedia My OS version is Armbian 23.08 Jammy. When using FFplay the rkmpp hardware decoder is able to correctly decode h264 and hevc content, so there does not seem to be a problem with rkmpp. Any thoughts on what could be wrong? I found another guy who had the same issue, but there was no resolution: https://github.com/armbian/build/issues/5384 Faile…

Hello There! I'm currently using a Rock 4SE, tagged it as 4B because armbian says I should use the version for the board. I'm using a manually built image of armbian, though without any changes. I'm currently trying to figure out how to get faster boot times on SDDMC. So far: 1 - I've disabled some systemd services. Bluetooth related services have made a big difference. 2 - I've tried to disable USB and network support on U-Boot, though unsuccessful, in order to make U-Boot spend less time before booting the kernel. By applying some patches to U-Boot I got to the point where it either compiles and doesn't start the system because of some …

Hello everyone, I’m starting this message by apologizing for my poor English (I am French) and also by informing you that I am a newbie with Linux. I have a big problem with my NAS Helios64. At first, I thought this problem was caused by OMV. So I went to the OMV forum to explain my situation. I created the following topic: https://forum.openmediavault.org/index.php?thread/40252-many-problems-after-an-update/&pageNo=1 . There, a kind moderator (macom) asked me to enter some instructions to try to pinpoint the root of the problem. After giving him some outputs, he told me: "For me it looks like your SD card is dead." My i…

Hello, I'm trying to use a NanoPi M4 with an old TV. When the system boots, the TV displays "Invalid resolution." However, it works with a different TV, which unfortunately I cannot use full time. I note that on the working TV, there's a line in dmesg stating "Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 240x67" which would imply that this can be configured somewhere?? However I tried searching, the only docs I get are outdated, for other hardware, or don't work. I tried adding 'disp.screen0_output_mode=1280x720p60' to /boot/armbianEnv.txt, but it had no effect. A pointer as to where these settings are actually controlled would be very helpful. Thanks

Hi, I'm trying to build for the Rock 3C so that I can minimize what goes into the kernel and system. I'm new at this and tried mostly default values (current, bookworm), except that I did minimal image instead of standard. The build failed at applying a patch. I don't know what to do with that. Can anyone help me diagnose? Also, how would I get into more details about building the image and choosing what to add/remove? Thanks!

Hi. I am trying to use bluetooth with my rock pis but I can't with armbian but debian. With debian I just followed this page and it works. https://wiki.radxa.com/RockpiS/Debian#Bluetooth But I want to work it in armbian. I turn bluetooth on in armbian-config. But "hciconfig" have no result and when I power on bluetooth, it say "No default controller available". So I searched and found it. Is it mean that I need to build a kernel to use bluetooth??

Hello, Apologies for wrong tag, but I am hoping one or more can help with what has been a frustrating process for a Linux\Orange Pi newbie. Background information: I got Orange Pi 800 due to shortages with Pi 400. I wanted to run home assistant on it. Came to determine to get what I wanted would entail having Debian installed and not Ubuntu. Flashed the micro sd card and the Pi 800 does not boot to it. I was able to remote to it via Putty, but I was not able to set it up correctly. What ended up happening was Debian got installed but not in the way I expected. The Orange Pi desktop still boots but I get system application error. The Orange Pi can see the micro…

It’s been 3 months since we posted on our blog. While we have been pretty active on Armbian/Kobol forum for support and still working at improving the software support and stability, we have been developing in parallel the new iteration of Helios64 around the latest Rockchip SoC RK3568. However things haven’t been progressing as fast as we would have wished. Looking back, 2020 has been a very challenging year to deliver a new product and it took quite a toll on the small team we are. Our energy level is a bit low and we still haven’t really recovered. Now with electronic part prices surge and crazy lead time, it’s even harder to have business visibility in an …

I am thinking to buy NanoPi M4v2 and i want to use with nvme SSD. RockPi 4 support Gen 2.0. What about NanoPi? NanoPi only support Gen1? And what is the maximum theoretical speed for nvme SSD on NanoPi M4v2 ? I am between NanoPi M4v2 vs RockPi 4 and NanoPc T4. I like NanoPi M4 design and box, I don't like rock pi ssd hat and box, and NanoPc price is expensive, not compact like NanoPi, ram is LPDDR3 others LPDDR4, but x4 lane and support Gen 2.1 is good. I am so confused..

Hi! I am trying the vanilla 5.15 kernel which has support for helios64. The system is booting, disks, MMC and network are working. But fancontrol fails. It seems the /sys entries have changed and the udev rules are not working. I've tried to understand the wiki page in order to adapt the udev rules and fancontrol config file but I am a little bit lost. Is there updated versions of those config files? Kind regards, Xavier Miller.

Hello everyone, I seem to have a problem with not knowing how to change the top usb3 port of my Rock pi 4+ to host mode from otg mode, I just got it and installed armbian on it and open media vault, only to notice that I couldn't connect anything to the top usb 3 port and have it show up in open media vault, the other ports work fine and looking at the internet seems to have found that the answer is that the port is in OTG mode and on the official website they do have a way to change it to host mode, but not in armbian and I'm not skilled enough in linux to find where the file I need to change is. Hi all, I’m working with an RK3588-based board and running into a frequency scaling issue. I have seen many problems with the Rock64 v3 in the last few days. Many customers have told me that existing Rock64 images suddenly no longer boot in v3. We have verified this and found that apparently v3 can not cope with many SD cards. The booting of eMMC goes without problems. If a customer has bought a new v3 and nothing works, contact us, we will send you an emmc card for the purchase price without any profit. markus@humberg.de

Hi all, I am running armbian bookworm on a nanopi r6c (rk3588). At boot, wireguard does not resolve the endpoint (strange, because it runs after network-online.target) and instead of keep trying, it gives up. If I manually restart it, all is good. Attached screenshots show the different behaviour in a raspberry pi (rpi4 as hostname) running raspios, where it keeps trying to resolve the endpoint, and nanopi r6c not retrying. I will recompile kernel to enable wireguard debug (or is there a quicker way?)

qemu-system-aarch64 -M virt -cpu host -enable-kvm ... only works reliably when 1 CPU core ( -smp 1). When a VM has 2 cores, it randomly worked I experienced. If virt-manager pick 2 equal cores, VM UEFI/BIOS/kernel runs OK, but if a Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55, all sorts of exceptions are shown or just lockup 2x or 1x 100% usage. In order to still be able to use KVM, start qemu-system-aarch64 as follows: taskset --cpu-list 4-7 qemu-system-aarch64 -M virt -cpu host -enable-kvm -smp 4 ... or taskset --cpu-list 0-3 qemu-system-aarch64 -M virt -cpu host -enable-kvm -smp 4 ... Mainline kernel 6.8.x or later does not have this problem. I…

Hi all, thanks to you guys on here I now have a fully functioning 4 * SSD drive NanoPiM4 using the SATA hat. What I'd like to do now, is, place the drives in some sort of drive enclosure that would have 4 SATA data inputs and be powered by the molex on the hat. Is it possible and is there such an animal ?

So I noticed my NanoPC-T4's will not boot an image made with the latest armbian build script. After Seeing all that spi nmve boot hype for the other boards and some time left i took the effort to level up the Orange Pi boards because they are the same as the rest it has a rk3399. The Uboot was a mess so i matched it with the kerenel dts a lot and corrected some issues. Dts debug is not the friendliest debug it compiles or not And after some trial and error (a lot ) and finding a spi nor flash wich is supported (or you add one of your own) it costs a esp8266 has 4mb spi flash or a old printer who had a 4mb and 8mb i got a boot from spi so . and with reading the armbian forum i saw 150balbes talked about usb boot and didnt know …

Hello, I'm new to Armbian and SoC/ARM devices but I've installed Armbian on the device before, however after tinkering around with RKDevTool and installing FriendlyELEC images on it through USB I'm now unable to boot from SD Card. I've done the "EraseAll" procedure under unbricking method https://wiki.friendlyelec.com/wiki/index.php/CM3588#Windows_Users however it didn't help. I've tried two SD Cards and I have no idea what else I can do. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find anything useful on google. The error is: "Gave up waiting for root file system device." "ALERT! UUID=602525b7-ed9f-43f7-91b0-1dc4e67b44bf does not exist. Dropping to a shell!" When…

Hi, I have bricked my system by installing the rk3399 legacy multmedia framework. It was installed on emmc. I was able to recover my system by using the P11 jumper to skip the boot on emmc, as explained in the doc, and now my system runs on a SDCard. The problem is, it seems that I cannot access the EMMC anymore -- it does not show up /dev. My intuition is that the P11 jumper disables the EMMC altogether. Am I write and if so, how can I access the EMMC again? I would like to be able to read it again (I had important data, notably unison synchronization files) and reinstall a fresh OS on it. Any help would be welcome!

When you do gdisk -l /dev/mmcblk1 or fdisk -l you can se that the partition table that armbian is using is MBR (dos). Is any particular reason for this? When you go to the new and improved firefly rk3399 manual page you can see it is making problem when flashing through USB-C cable and upgrade_tool v. 1.24 and v. 1.34 (GBT friendly) http://wiki.t-firefly.com/en/Firefly-RK3399/flashing-notes.html .

Today I updated and upgraded my system, and after a reboot 'apt list' did no longer work. It shows 'Listing... done', and then uses 100% CPU on a single core, without producing anything. Hi. I've just bought a Rock Pi 4a board, I plan to use it as home server, running stuff like Owncloud, Postfix/Dovecot, Apache, pihole, OpenHab, Emby server etc. I'm thinking of running Armbian on it, but I have absolutely no experience of this dist (I've been managing Debian/Ubuntu servers for many years though). It's going to run headless. I'm wondering what would be the best way to set up disks from an Armbian point of view. My main reason for buying Rock Pi is for the M.2 port, I'm going to put my data on a M.2 disk. Booting from M.2 seems to be tricky though so I'm thinking about booting from micro SD card. I don't want to put any important data or a…

Hello, can someone help me with my problem. I have a ROCK64 with 4GB of RAM and an ARMBIAN 5.75 stable Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS 4.4.174-rockchip64, installed. My issue come with usb ports, from the three USB of the this device only works two: one 2.0 and 3.0. And when i have a disk connected towards usb 3.0 i have issues with port usb 2.0, it doesn't work well and I end up disconnecting the USB 3.0 to can work with my device connected towards USB 2.0 so I assume that the current power on the USB port is having issues or it's not working well. Anybody an idea? thanks!

Hello everyone, I have an OrangePi 4 that will serve as an interface for the electric car chargers that are produced in my company. We currently use Raspberry 3 and we want to upgrade to the OrangePi 4, mainly because it has eMMc. The problem is that the interface we have was designed to work on Raspberry. I put the SD card with the image in the OrangePi but it starts with the system that has been installed on eMMc (Armbian). Can you tell me if it will be very difficult for the image we use in Rpi to be possible to install on OrangePi? Another thing I want to do is move from the Armbian that I have currently installed on eMMc to Debian, h…

Hello friends, Has anyone here successfully activated the I2S pins for connecting a DAC? According to the official documentation, the PCM functionality should be available on physical pins 12 (GPIO4_A6), 35 (GPIO3_C2), 38 (GPIO3_C0), and 40 (GPIO3_B7) of the GPIO header. I've tried many options - in the DTS overlay I've enabled various I2S variants starting from "i2s0_8ch" up to "i2s9_8ch", including different "pinctrl" m[0-1] variants like "i2s1m0" or "i2s1m1", and alternatively "i2s2m0" or "i2s2m1", but I've never managed to get ALT3 mode on the mentioned pins (I assume I2S function = ALT3 mode). Hi everyone, Big fan of debian based distro's. Have six Rock64's and looking for a newer kernel (4.9+) with default Ubuntu modules list. 3 have eMMC cards and 3 using the Pine64 USB->SATA adapter with SSD drives. I have powered usb hub, y cables, etc but am using USB2 without powered hub because it's reliable as is and USB3 boot with any distro power injection seems unreliable. Not too concerned about throughput. Ayufan's release bionic-minimal-rock64-0.7.11-1075-arm64.img.xz with 4.4 is very stable on these. However Ayufan's mainline kernels after 4.4 are stripped right back. I spent a couple days compiling kernels with Ayufa…

I was trying to avoid opening a new instability topic, but this one seems different enough from the others to deserve it's own discussion. A few days ago I applied the 1G fix (pic attached) to the 2.5G port - which was not in use until then, since all my hardware is 1G max. I did this with the intention of using both ports: the 1G port goes to an isolated VLAN that serves VM images to my Proxmox hosts, and the 2.5G interface (running at 1G speed) serves files to the rest of my network. While the fix appears to work and the port is able to communicate at 1G speeds seemingly fine, after changing to this setup I'm experiencing frequent drops in the USB bus, which c…

I have been using a Rock Pi 4C Plus (v1.2) with M.2 slot with Armbian for some time. I boot from eMMC, but have a 500GB NVME device Cannot recall the original version of firmware installed, but it was originally a Debian bullseye image and I re-installed when a bookworm image became available. I regularly use "apt update" followed by "apt upgrade" to keep the software up to date. After a recent update the system went into a boot loop. I attempted to recover by creating an SD card with the latest Armbian image. When trying to debug the issue I noticed that the NVME in the M.2 slot is no longer recognized. hey, this change https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/2010/files made my rockpi-4b (with 4GB ram) finally stable some time ago DDR_BLOB='rk33/rk3399_ddr_933MHz_v1.20.bin' #instead of 1.24 After messing with rx/tx offloading, this was the solution, no more failed apt and download errors, great! It seems that this change got lost in the transition to the new u-boot / different logical structure or is not needed anymore for the 1GB models it was mentioned originally, see here: https://github.com/armbian/build/commit/f2db96252530d2f5585755b518e7fd020b5f0392#diff-18c1f509b638f24dc14854e6af5173bb Any chance to get it back for rockpi-4…

@Contributor/Maintainer AR-1172 - fix complete 08 May 2022 There is was a bug in the 5.15, 5.16 and 5.17 kernel r8152 driver that affected RTL8153b Gigabit USB Ethernet (LAN0) on the Orange Pi R1plus LTS and other boards. The bug only presents on high load and I can trigger it reliably with bidirectional high load on Orange Pi R1plus LTS. The bug kills the RX interface and it requires power down to reset. I assume that it also affects the Orange Pi R1plus, and there are reports of it affecting NanoPi R2S. I would assume that other boards could be impacted. My proposed fix is to revert the driver back to the version used in 5.10 kernel (and to disa…

Hi all! There's a dedicated RTC chip in Rock3A (HYM8563TS), but unfortunately it doesn't work right with the standard Armbian image. The chip is correctly identified, but the problem is with the RK809 PMIC, which also contains an RTC. During boot RK809 is labeled as rtc0, and HYM8563TS as rtc1, and by default kernel uses rtc0 for hwclock manipulations. Since RTC battery is connected to HYM8563TS, after power cycle RK809 is reset to 2017-08-05 09:00:00. | _ \ ___ ___| | __ |___ / / \ | |_) / _ \ / __| |/ / |_ \ / _ \ | _ < (_) | (__| < ___) / ___ \ |_| \_\___/ \___|_|\_\ |____/_/ \_\ Welcome to Armbian 23.11.1 Bookwo…

Hi All, thanks for this great project, much appreciated! Could someone give me an educated guess whether there is a risk of damaging my board when the blue LED is flashing much faster (at least twice, probably more) than usual? I suspect something is changing the frequency or voltage and I'm not sure how much time I can take in this state to try to analyze the problem further. For now I unplug the power when it happens. I'm trying to netboot my Rock Pi 4B v1.4 with the current or dev branches of buster minimal nfsboot, with no local storage at all (just the SPI flash for u-boot). The legacy 4.4 hangs at very early boot (couldn't get clock / Failed to g…

I have a Rock Pi4 B (rk3399) and I do not find the solution to use my native screen resolution with the latest kernel: 1600x1200. It was working fine with Armbian Bionic Legacy kernel 4.4. However, despite my tinkering, I do not find how to make it work with the latest kernel (option is not available in the Display Setting, xrandr manipulation did not give any success). Any pointer towards a solution would be greatly appreciated. Below the output of xrandr for the two images I ran. Welcome to Armbian Bionic with Linux 4.4.198-rockchip64 Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1600 x 1200, maximum 8192 x 8192 HDMI-1 connected pr…

Hi, I was struggling in the Wifi connectivity with following syndromes: 1. Having trouble connecting to 5GHz network by default unless specifying BSSID 2. Will disconnect after a day or so 3. Cannot parse RX packet header properly (and will spamming errors in dmesg) After putting in some efforts, I've found a newer firmware version on GitHub: New Firmware: BCM4356/2 wl0: Apr 18 2017 13:54:43 version 7.35.184.1.r5 (A2 Station/P2P) FWID 01-efd4ca0d Original Firmware: BCM4356/2 wl0: May 14 2014 19:51:52 version 7.35.17 (r477908) FWID 01-2ed3ee81 The NVRAM text file is identical to `brcmfmac4356-sdio-nanopi-m4v2.txt…

I'm trying to run Armbian on Orange Pi RK3399 board. I have TP50265 permanently shorted to the ground to enable SD card booting. The board starts without any problems with Debian and Ubuntu images downloaded from the manufacturer website, e.g. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1wAdkC25BmjMwapWahEEQGTvi-yuwo8Gx after the above, kernel boots and the system starts perfectly. However, when I try the images downloaded from Armbian website (both, based on the old kernel, like https://dl.armbian.com/orangepi-rk3399/archive/Armbian_20.02.1_Orangepi-rk3399_bionic_legacy_4.4.213_desktop.7z and the new ones, like https://dl.armbian…

My Radxa Rock 4SE does not boot since community-build 25.8.0-trunk.228. Current local builds based on the "main" branch are also affected. The bootloader log gives the following error: Checking hash(es) for config config-1 ... Hi, at first thank your for your great work! I've successfully created an wifi hotspot on nanopiM4 using "Armbian_5.95_Nanopim4_Debian_buster_default_4.4.190" with armbian-config utitlity. After the tool is finished I can connect to the hotspot and it shares the internet connection.. However - when I reboot the system the hotspot still works and I can connect but I have no connection to the internet anymore. The nonopi itself has connection to internet, I checked that. Do you have any sugestions? Thank you in andvance! Christian

Your build Armbian 5.65 kernel 4.4 and my build 5.65 the same kernel - system has sound only via HDMI monitor. Is it possible to enabled audio via 3.5 jack or external USB sound card?

My Helios64 setup has been running stable for months now (except for one MOSFET that failed and had to be replaced), however after recent updates using the OMV5 package manager I am unable to transfer files to my computer (SMB shares). When trying to transfer to a Windows computer the transfer speed immediately plummets to 0, stays there forever or File Explorer crashes/stops responding. When transferring to an Ubuntu system the transfer time outs. I can browse the files on the SMB share, I can play them (movies, music, etc) or run them directly with no issues. I can transfer files using scp with no problem (just at much reduced speed/bandw…

I got the Helios64 and was running it from an external SD card so far since when I first installed it, the other options where not available, yet. I'm running openmediavault 5.5 (Armbian 20.11.6 Buster with Linux 5.9.14-rockchip64). Now, I wanted to move the system to a SSD and installed a "Crucial MX500 1TB CT1000MX500SSD4" according to https://wiki.kobol.io/helios64/m2/ Unfortunately, the SSD is not detected by the system, see output of dmesg below. For ata1, it only shows SATA link down. Is there anything I can do to figure out what the problem is? Or is there any reason why this particular SSD would not work? ~$ dmesg | grep ata [ 0.000000] M…

Hallo, I've been using Armbian on the NanoPi M4 V2 for a while and now I'm thinking about switchen from the legacy kernel to the current kernel. Unfortunately that's not so easy to do when using armbian-config. You could think you can just select the current-kernel in the list but you won't find it there. The reason is simple: the legacy kernel belongs to the rk3399-family and the current kernel is rockchip64. Which is basically the same, but from an organisational point of view it is not (please forgive me if I do not show an adequate technical precision here, the details and the plan to clean that up are explained here). What I would be intereste…

The xenial img from dl.armbian.com works fine, but doesn't have SCTP support, so I wanted to compile my own image. Did a "show kernel config" and built an img.
