  1. Been dreaming of this one for a while. Finally got a weekend to focus on it recently. I'm hoping someone is eager to take what I've done and move It along some more. Here's what we have so far. * a linux 'family' called virtual.conf * a kernel config called linux-virtual-current.config * a board called virtual-qemu.wip The result is a full HVM accelerated armbian image with a kernel compiled with all the virtio drivers for disk, network and video. Also a u-boot.bin made for qemu that can boot the image when used as the qemu bios/firmware I've ran it as a VM on ubuntu using plain qemu on a Ampere eMag box.. and using UTM (qem…

Good news. Thanks to the work of many, there is now a real opportunity to run the Armbian system with the main core on Jetson Nano, and more importantly, it is easy to integrate the image build process into the official GIT Armbian. In the near future, I plan to post ready-made images with the latest kernel 5.10.22 on the download site. To run them, you need to update u-boot to Jetson Nano. This is very easy to do, just run the latest official version of Ubuntu for Jetson Nano from the SD card, it will update itself in SPI (?) u-boot to the latest version (2020.04), after that you can run Armbian from any SD card or USB media. The new u-boot supports automatic syst…

Hi, Beside some limitations with cubox's hardware I love my cubox-i 4x4. But it is hard to find good documentation about how to many things. Reading this forum and other webs I made many of my goals. After installing Debian from this web site and using the nand-sata-install script the system works from the hard drive. This hard drive has two partitions, the main and big one and one small, 4GB, swap partition, but the system is not using it, so I would like to know if I can make the system use it. I found this how to: 9. Setting Up Swap Space 9.1. Swap Files Normally, there are only two steps to setting up swap space, creating the partition and adding it to /etc/…

  6. Hi, My Solidrun Cubox I1-300-D has been running Armbian for quite some time (Samsung EVO SD card). However, I tried to update/upgrade, and my version was non-supported anymore (19.04?), so time for a fresh new image. I've tried three times (download image from https://www.armbian.com/cubox-i/, sha256 check, burn image with etcher, inspect file structure (looks good), and boot), but each time this happens: "Armbian universal operating system" + text ("Executing script at ...") splash screen, then a black screen, and then my TV says "no signal", and then nothing anymore. Console output currently only works in UART, so you need a UART console or SSH connection for initial startup. Hi everyone, Armbian works well for me on a NanoPi Neo, and installing it on my Cubox i4 was straightforward... but I'd like to try a kernel newer than linux-image-cubox (version 4.14), to get improved video support, and both linux-image-dev-cubox (version 5.2.11) and linux-image-next-cubox (version 5.1.16) do not provide any video output at all. I've uploaded the armbianmonitor report from booting the linux-image-dev-cubox kernel. Help on this would be appreciated!

  22. Not sure if this should go in this section, but since my problem is about non-supported board, then I guess... I found out about Armbian only recently and decided to give it a try for my T113-S3 based board I bought on Aliexpress. It looks like it's some kind of a MangoPi MQ clone, at least judging by schematics. I managed to create a new configuration for my board, together with required U-Boot patches. I built two images, for "current" and "edge" kernel. Hi, I've just created a SD-card with Armbian Bionic (mainline kernel 4.19.y) for a Hummingboard Gate. I noticed during boot that it says it uses U-boot version 2013.10-rc4. This seems quite old compared to the 2018 version that was on the Debian Stretch image from SolidRun. I've tried to search the internet to see what the impact of something like this is and wasn't able to find something that made sense to me (could be entirely my fault). I therefore have the question: Is the U-boot version intentional? (maybe it has some features that newer versions have dropped.)

There are different brcmfmac4330-sdio.txt sources, with very different files for same wifi adapter and device (Cubox-i) I'm wondering what is the difference from the nvram .txt file for broadcom wifi firmware (brcmfmac4330-sdio.txt) between (A)solid-run:meta-solidrun-arm-imx6 (much longer with lots of additional parameters)https://github.com/SolidRun/meta-solidrun-arm-imx6/blob/fido/recipes-bsp/broadcom-nvram-config/files/solidrun-imx6/brcmfmac4330-sdio.txt (B)the one that ships …

The CPU is nothing to write home about, but the FPGA opens up an interesting array of possibilities. Hey, which kernel did you use for the provided Hummingboard image (wheezy)? Is it a self-patched linux-linaro or the latest from solidrun (linux-fslc)? My test tells me, that it is the one from solidrun as I'm not able to use PCI on my HB pro. I've recognized it using the current devel of OpenELEC which also uses kernel 3.14.60 from solidrun. An older version of OpenELEC (e.g. 6.0.3) or Armbian (eg. 4.4 using 3.14.53) works quite good. The PCI driver and the dts changed quite a lot between those kernel repositories. Do you have any suggestions how to fix that? My tries all ended in a boot hang (black screen).

I am developing on an imx6 board that is no longer in production. It has a full Yacto-based build system that works, based on an old 3.17?) kernel, but its a pain to develop for. It's not worth spending too much time on refactoring the image, but I'm wondering how big of a job it might be to build an Armbian image for it, given that I already have a working uboot and kernel. The hardware just uses a couple of usbs and uarts, and a pcie wifi card. One wersion also has an hdmi encoder, another has hdmi display. Those might be the hardest to support, but driver support is in the kernel. Thoughts? Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

But unless it is something I'm not doing right, performance dosen't exactly seem to be all that great even with acceleration. I noticed that one thing that I could do btw to improve performance just a little was to turn down the colour depth. I did this by doing the following; root@cubox-i:/boot# cat boot.cmd setenv bo…

I am using your Debian (jessie) on the new SolidRun Hummingboard-Edge board. [Linux cubox-i 3.14.14-cubox-i #8 SMP Sun Jul 12 19:03:09 CEST 2015 armv7l GNU/Linux] I am planning on using the RS-485 on the board that is tied to UART2. But I noticed that ttymxc0 (UART1) and ttymc3 (UART4) are the only tty ports that have drivers associated with them. [ "dmesg | grep tty" ] How can I turn on the driver that is associated with UART2 (ttymxc1)? Thanks,

  91. Hi, If you think that Solid-run Cubox-i kernel branch is becoming outdated, you can use a mainline linux kernel with the following enablement patches: Russell King home dir: http://www.home.arm.linux.org.uk/~rmk/cubox/?C=M;O=D Grab the most recent hummingboard-cubox-i DIFF big patch and patch it into your vanilla 4.1 kernel source dir. Then use a default config appropiate for a Cubox-i / Hummingboard: # make imx_v6_v7_defconfig hope it helps

A couple years back a company named TBS, mostly known for their DTV hardware, released a mini PC styled thing. It's called the TBS2910 Matrix and was marketed mostly as a Kodi box. Sadly it doesn't seem the product made the sales necessary to keep the company interested - which in my view is a shame since it's got some interesting hardware features: Quad-core i.MX6 CPU (1GHz) 2GB DDR3 Ram MiniPCIe slot 16GB eMMC Storage SATA connector with 12V power, capable of powering a 3.5" HDD On-board 2.4GHz Wifi Gigabit ethernet (likely limited to 400Mbps or so) 3 USB 2.0 ports + 1 mini USB otg port 1 full-size SD slot, 1 microSD slot HDMI, analog and optical audio out I…

@Igor how come there isn't any mainline kernels available for these boards lack of time or lack of interest ? currently using xilka kernel but would love to have it in apt less messy would be awesome to include/combine those builds and get more support for imx6 since graphics is up to 3.14.60 and mainline is at 4.4.0 (minimal support for graphics kinda like your mainline packages).

Hi all, sorry if my question is stupid but I would like to use ARMBian on this Keith & Koep board. I know that there are different problems with serial configuration and that may prevent u-boot to start. I would like to know if I can regenerate easily an ISO adaptating the hardware with custom device tree .... Which repositories should I clone ? Thanks for your support Kind regards Jerome

  100. On my Cubox, can I upgrade Armbian Bionic to Cosmic? Is that going to work? I'm not using any GUI / HDMI stuff, so that is not relevant for me Reason of my question: I want OpenSSL 1.1.1 (with TLS1.3), which is a part of Cosmic (and not of Bionic).
