Hi, I'm trying to work with the CedarX/Cedrus Video Engine (running in Allwinner A20). It works smoothly with my patched FFmpeg; for example: ffmpeg -f v4l2 -r 30 -pix_fmt nv12 -video_size 1280x720 -i /dev/video0 -vcodec cedrus264 -pix_fmt nv12 -qp 15 -f rtsp -rtsp_transport tcp rtsp://192.168.10.11/live/test I need to use pixel format RGB24, but as far as I understand, I'm limited to work with NV12 (or NV16) pixel format. Does this limitation is due to: My FFmpeg patch (I think not...) CedarX/Cedrus driver implementation. Hardware limitation. Thanks for the help, Joseph

  5. If possible, I would like to shutdown or wake up the Odroid N2 using a GPIO button. I followed the guide here: https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid-n2/application_note/gpio/gpio_key_wakeup. The button LED works, but the button does not trigger shutdown or wake up using pin 9 and 11. Has anyone gotten a power button to work on the Odroid N2? Is there a specific Odroid module/software that isn't installed by default in Armbian? Additions to /boot/boot.ini setenv gpiopower "479" setenv bootargs ${bootargs} gpiopower=${gpiopower} After these additions, /proc/cmdline shows "gpiopower=479" as expected. Hi, I’m running Armbian 20.11 on a RockPro64. I have a Dell DW316 CD/DVD drive and would like to use it to burn data CDs, however so far I have not been able to get it to work. I have tried to burn using Brasero, KD3 and others but no luck. The Brasero log mentioned something about ‘adapter’ error but have tried a different USB cable. I was having an issue with ejecting media in the GUI with Armbian but managed to fix that but makes no difference for this (https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16863-failed-to-eject-media-warning/?tab=comments#comment-117961). 8. Hi, I'm trying to run with a PREEMPT_RT kernel to get a real-time (lowest latency as possible) performance. But in addition to the PREEMPT_RT patch, I want to make sure the system doesn't go to sleep (or using power save modes) to avoid additional wake-ups latencies (that the PREEMPT_RT patch cannot reduce). I've reviewed the AXP209 datasheet and tried to understand if I can somehow disable the system from going to sleep, but I didn't find the answer for that. I do know that register 0x31 can control the entrance to sleep mode if we write '1' to bit-3, but I can't prevent other drivers or applications from doing it. Question: Is th…

  10. Trying to set frequencies and governor for both types of CPUs on this processor. armbian-config sets the max freq and governor correctly for the two big proccesors but no config for little. Tried cpufreq-set for little, but it does not respect governor. If its set to a freq is stays there indefinitely, and if conservative governor is set the max freq goes back to 1.5. How do we set max freq to 1.2 for little, and governor to conservative and have both stick like big does with armbian-config?

  17. Not related to armbian distribution, just curious. I googled but had no luck to find an answer. For Allwinner SoCs, there is FEL boot tool to download bootloader, kernel and initramfs to ram and to boot the system directly, without writing those stuff onto flash storage and performing a reset; I wonder whether there is a tool to achieve the same function for rockchip SoCs? or we could modify the usbplug and rkdeveloptool to implement the function? or there are any limitations to prevent it? any comments or advices?

I'm having an aggressive memory leak issue I can't place: Within 5 minutes the 4GB are full. htop and top don't show a massive program growing unbouded. `df` doesn't show a tmpfs that is too large. Dear members of the forums. I am shopping for a new single board computer, already have a few manufacturers, but I am not sure yet. Couple years ago I bought BPI-M2U from Sinvoip, and I regretted that soon. Sinvoip was not providing good documentation nor open source contributions of drivers. So to avoid the same situation, I'd like to ask which manufacturers are co-share, contribute to open source and don't sell boards with schematic errors? Orange Pi (4) Khadas (Vim3) Friendly Elec (m4) Odroid (N2) Thank you in advance and sorry if this is not the right forum.

Of the boards supported by Armbian, which do you prefer for multiple audio devices and audio related applications? I need to control two audio streams, in and out each and add information to the streams as appropriate. I would like to use as little external hardware as possible so stereo mic or dual mic input and stereo out would be awesome. I'm a little overwhelmed by the choices, so opinions are definitely welcome here.

Hi, I've got an Odroid HC2 with Armbian Buster and OMV on it, and the SD card I used it with got corrupted. So I salvaged all the files from it and backups, and restored the whole file structure onto a new SD card, with an ext4 MBR primary partition. Now, my concern is, how can I make this bootable? I can boot the HC2 off a throwaway newly installed Armbian, and access the target SD card through a USB card reader. I could google that armbian-config is used to install the bootloader, but apparently it can only do that to the card which has been used to boot the device in the first place. Any suggestions? thanks

For the time being, I'm using OPi.GPIO as a library to make a LED blink, but will use Java-Periphery and SSD1306 later on. As for now, the LED is blinking, all is fine. 50. Hi, my base problem is syncthing not starting on boot. But in trying to solve that it would be useful to uninstall and reinstall syncthing via armbian-config and hence softy. But armbian-config/softy does not let me uninstall syncthing (or for that matter samba, which I also don't want or need on that machine). Nor does apt: sudo apt-get remove --purge samba reports "Package 'samba' is not installed, so not removed", though armbian-config/softy shows it as installed. Is there a way to uninstall packages installed via armbian-config/softy? Thanks Graham

  52. Dear all, I'm frequently losing GPIO interrupts on various boards, which seem to be caused by bursty processes. When I shield the cores that have those interrupts according to /proc/interrupts with e..g. "cset shield --cpu=0,1" , way less interrupts are lost (e.g. for 4kHz interrupts one in hours instead of once per minute). Most of these (ADC) interrupts are handled by my own kernel module, but couldn't find how to restrict them to e.g. CPU0, and they are not movable using /proc/irq/*/smp_affinity. 71. Hello. I'm running "Armbian 20.11.6 Focal" on an Odroid-C2 board. Today, after an "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade", the OS name changed from "Armbian 20.11.6 Focal" to "Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS". The changes has been done from the package "11ubuntu5.3" (https://launchpadlibrarian.net/519827877/base-files_11ubuntu5.2_11ubuntu5.3.diff.gz) on the files "/etc/issue" and "/etc/issue.net". Well, is that a problem under an "Armbian" point of view? Should I replace "Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS" with "Armbian 20.11.6 Focal" on the files "/etc/issue" and "/etc/issue.net"? Thanks.

  87. orangepiplus2e: I have been using an OS that i downloaded in the usa. Now I am in ukraine and after i do an update & upgrade, which does run through, the OS tries to connect to the internet, but fails; the page tries to open, but all i see are a few lines of the internet homepage i connected to. So, it does go to the page, but won't open it. I have tried multiple times using different url's. During the update, the OS upgrades to the current version, Buster 10.7. I downloaded a new OS from both "usa" & "europe", but upon trying to install it, i got a "ua" keyboard screen message for both usa&europe, and i had to choose an…

hello everyone, I would like to know if it is possible to remove support for video cameras and wi-fi from the operating system so that they do not load at startup and reprogram these connectors to suit your needs? Thank you in advance for your answer

  91. Hi, I have an issue that is irritating me, and I'm not sure what to do about it. So on the Helios64 page (I am also using it with the Kobol enclosure), they give you a simple command like this to use: picocom -b 1500000 /dev/ttyUSB0 This is so you can access a serial TTY without an Internet connection. My problem is that the "window size" is set back to 80x24 characters. I'm not sure why this happens. I've also noticed that it somehow sets "TERM=linux" instead of what I have in my host PC's "$TERM" which is "xterm-256color" Is this by design, or is there something strange going on that I don't understand…

Hi I've been looking for a live dist for my Orange Pi Plus2, but there really doesn't seem to be one. I installed Armbian with all software I need to a microsd and figured it must be possible to make the whole system read-only somehow. Would someone care to explain how this can be done?

    Hi, I have created an image with the following command /root/build/compile.sh BOARD=orangepi-r1 BRANCH=current RELEASE=focal BUILD_MINIMAL=yes BUILD_DESKTOP=no KERNEL_ONLY=no KERNEL_CONFIGURE=no COMPRESS_OUTPUTIMAGE=sha,gpg,img ROOTFS_TYPE=ext4 EXTRAWIFI=no CARD_DEVICE=/dev/sdb And it worked fine. Then I changed the filesystem to BTRFS and did /root/build/compile.sh BOARD=orangepi-r1 BRANCH=current RELEASE=focal BUILD_MINIMAL=yes BUILD_DESKTOP=no KERNEL_ONLY=no KERNEL_CONFIGURE=no COMPRESS_OUTPUTIMAGE=sha,gpg,img ROOTFS_TYPE=btrfs EXTRAWIFI=no CARD_DEVICE=/dev/sdb and got the following errors: sed: couldn't write 19 it…

  94. Hello again all, Following the success of my last need to post here I changed my Odroid N2+ Plex server over to Armbian (making two Armbian-running Odroids in the house). The N2+ is running Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster) with Linux 5.9.6-meson64 I have had a few occasions where I have encountered a system-wide freeze. Today's lasted over an hour, whilst others have unfrozen after ~20-30 minutes. Today the machine was ping-able but attempts to ssh in were unsuccessful though there was no timeout and no error messages when trying. Prior to that I was listening to some music in which the playback was faltering, leaving silence for several seconds duration b…

  96. I like armbian-debian but don't like that i can only do the checksum for the 'img.xz' and not the actual image. Once i extract the .img from the img.xz, i don't see how i can check the actual .img since there is no checksum for it; even though it is very difficult for malware to get on the .img, it is possible. I realize that if the .img.xz's checksum is good, then the .img image is good. But once I expose the .img to my computer, if there is malware unknowingly present, then the .img could become infected and I have no way to check it. My orangepiplus2e is 32-bit. Thanks

  98. Hi all. I've just finished a new video where I show the gameplay of EmuElec on the Odroid HC4. I must say I'm amazed by how well it performs. It doesn't perform that much worse than the Odroid N2+. The biggest advantage is that you can use a normal 3.5" hard drive for your games library. The single USB2 port is enough to connect your controller. Here's my video.

  99. I use a currently fully updated Armbian on an ODROID-C2. I start tigervnc like this in /etc/crontab: @reboot linuxfan bash -lc 'vncserver -local host no' My ~/.vnc/xstartup: #!/bin/bash exec startxfce4 Everything works over VNC but gparted. Nothing would happen when I click on the menu entry. When I try to start it from an Xfce terminal, it (somehow) tells my why it won't start: $ sudo gparted No protocol specified (gpartedbin:23385): Gtk-WARNING **: 20:55:09.777: cannot open display: :1.0 I'm at my wits end and would be glad if someone can help me out.

  100. I'm running Armbian 20.11.3 Buster on the Odroid N2 (kernel 5.9.14-meson64). I wanted information on memory pressure of the system, but I was surprised to see that pressure stall information (PSI) was not at /proc/pressure/memory. I then noticed that the PSI tool is not configured in the Armbian build. Specifically, the /boot/config-5.9.14-meson64 file contains "# CONFIG_PSI is not set" Why is pressure stall information not configured on Armbian? Are there better or other tools to provide this information? I briefly looked at free and /proc/meminfo, but I'm of the opinion that unused RAM is wasted and looking at free memory is not a good indicator if operation…
