  2. Hello guys I am looking for any help or hint on how to start the work stated in the title: Porting Audioinjector Pi SoundCard overlay from Raspbian to Armbian. I would like to use the card on OrangePi platform based on because H3 SoC has all required hardware: I2C, SPI, I2S(?). The code I found is in Raspbian github repository https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/tree/3f53e7886737a975e3fe76bc8ae6cc78f33c8cf8/sound/soc/bcm. 3. Hi all, I'm trying to port a driver built for Raspberry Zero to Banana Pi M2 Zero. The original driver is here : https://github.com/pguyot/tagtagtag-ears (it's supposed to drive the ears of a Nabaztag, which recently got resurected thanks to an Ulule campaign). My understanding is that at least half of the problem is to adapt the device tree overlay for the BPI M2 Zero. If it"s not half of the work, it's definitely required. So far I've been unsuccessful. 5. Is it possible to install armbian using dd? I see the instructions say to use USBImager is recommended. However, my situation is that the computer I am using is an ARM64 running Linux, and it appears there is not a binary download of USBImager available for ARM64-linux. I could compile my own copy of USBImager, but it seems like it might be simpler to use dd. Or--is there an alternative to USBImager that I could install on my ARM64-linux (debian), preferably using the package manager?

  6. Sorry for a newbie question. I am setting up a raid system based on flash drives on a Orange Pi One and every thing is working fine. I am now thinking of moving from ext4 for F2FS but I can't figure out how to get it to work. I have installed f2fs-tools and managed to format the drive but I can't seem to mount it. I can't seem to run "modprobe f2fs". Does this mean that I need to recombile the kernel or what? I am not intending to boot from f2fs. Just mount the raid system for storage.

Hi, Working on a project that will manage and monitor batteries from a solar installation and wanting to see how low I can reduce its power consumption. Out of the box consumption is approx. 480mWatts. Currently using Armbian 21.05.8 Buster Don't need: USB WiFi Any display output and Only need eth0 for possibly 10 mins a day. Any suggestion on how to power down specific components such as above? Interestingly shutdown via the command line increase the power consumption to around 700mW?? Thanks, Rob.

  16. Are there any commands to show information that could tell me about the level of power consumption ? E.g.: energy saving state of CPU or the like ? On the SBC i am using, i think the power consumption is lower when running the same setup with kernel 5.4, and higher with legacy kernel 4.4. Alas, 5.4 has other problems, so i want to try to figure out what settings/features reduce power consumption in 5.4 and maybe i can then configure them equally in 4.4. This is rockpi4a rockchip3399. If there is nothing generic enough about the topic, i can ask on the forum for that chip.

Dear colleagues! I think many of us are trying to use SBC boards with Armbian as server, control units etc. How do you handle instant power OFF, due to power loss, for example. I am thinking about small UPS development, it will contain battery for 30 seconds of Orange Pi Pc+ operation and set Orange Pi I/O as signal for correct shutdown. But is it actually needed? I keep switching my Orange power OFF from AC adapter instead of shutting down for 1 year and still no problem there.

Hello, I just installed Armbian on my Tinker board. I use the internal wifi and another wifi usb dongle (static ip). The wifi usb receives a name wlx**** in ifconfig and the internal wifi module has wlan0. I want to have wlan1 instead of wlx***. So I checked https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd/PredictableNetworkInterfaceNames/ Tried the option using dev/null and setting the net.ifnames parameter. I tried in /boot/ArmBianEnv.txt to set net.ifnames=0 parameter. Nothing works. Would be happy, if someone knows how to change this on Armbian. Thank you very much

Hey all! I'm wondering if there's a tried and tested method for preparing an armbian system to be made into an SD card image, including: * Clearing the right SSH data * Triggering firstrun to run next time * Shrinking partition * Any other suggestiosn NB : the filesystem for armbian seems to be quite different from raspbian / other. Which makes shrinking the partition from another computer quite confusing (e.g. when mounting a ripped img in ubuntu we just see one full partition across the entire SD card, even if there's lots of free space)

  27. I'm running Armbian 20.11.3 Buster on the Odroid N2 (kernel 5.9.14-meson64). I wanted information on memory pressure of the system, but I was surprised to see that pressure stall information (PSI) was not at /proc/pressure/memory. Specifically, the /boot/config-5.9.14-meson64 file contains "# CONFIG_PSI is not set" Why is pressure stall information not configured on Armbian? Are there better or other tools to provide this information? I briefly looked at free and /proc/meminfo, but I'm of the opinion that unused RAM is wasted and looking at free memory is not a good indicator if operation…

  89. Thank you for everything you’ve done. Armbian is amazing. On Raspberry PI devices, it’s possible to pass parameters to the kernel at boot-up and force certain IO pins to go high as soon as shutdown is complete. It’s along the lines of “dtoverlay=gpio-poweroff,gpiopin=xx”. I’m guessing that GPIO-POWEROFF is a kernel overlay, that it’s specific to Raspbian, and that Armbian may have a similar overlay. What’s the best way to discover the name of Armbian’s corresponding overlay, please? That overlay would enable me to configure the relevant single-board computer to send a signal at shutdown, a signal that would cause the charging/power circ…

  93. I installed and compiled varios browsers based on QtWebKit - falkon, konqueror, otter-browser - and they are all pretty fast compared to their chromium/firefox colleagues. Unfortunately, the input of special characters (é, ñ, ü, ß) doesn't work. The letters appear as UTF code. However, the letters are displayed correctly in chromium/midori/firefox, and the console. Thus, I blame Qt. This is very annoying e.g. for webmailing and editing text, since typing in languages with special characters such as Spanish and German is practically impossible. Any idea how to fix that?

That's fine, but I actually needed the serial port ttySx in order to sen AT-commands, but there is not one available... that's actually very strange.

  98. Hello, I have a Quectel EC25 modem which works fine on OPi Zero Plus and other boards, now I'm trying it in an OPi Zero Plus 2 H5 board, it loads the network interface but it doesn't gets good internet, some IPs respond but most others(google.com por example) don't. I'm wondering if there is any drivers or incompatibility issue. Any help will be welcome. Thanks in advance, Alejandro Edit: In this images I show: 1- the ppp0 network interface 2- the lsusb command which shows the modem 3- A ping that works and a ping that doesn't 4- The logs loading the OS, it freezes on the last line

Discussions on closed-components often times get confusing because "component" is overloaded, so I'm separating "components" into several categories: 1. Firmware/microcode that is loaded into hardware but never executed by the operating system itself 2. Drivers that operate in kernel space (often called "binary blobs") 3. Software that runs in user space 4. Firmware for "autonomous subsystems" or "coprocessors" like the Intel Management Engine or ThreadX on the Ra…

  100. Started by msev,

Do you guys think/know if this would work on a Orange pi. https://github.com/riptidewave93/RFLED-Server It seems to be written in golang, I don't know how is it with the gpio's if stuff is written in golang. Well here its UART stuff actually but you get the picture..
