  4. Hello all, Orange Pi 5b v1.1 16GB/256GB # Wi-Fi 6 and WPA3 are not available options in current Debian Cinnamon release. # OP 5b does have these features so comparability isn't an issue. # Works fine with Orange Pi images. # All steps given on download page were taken. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  14. Started by dizeus,

Would like to build something like a NAS, because I'm tired of connecting an external drive via USB. I am thinking to use bananapi M2 berry for this. I would power the 3.5 HDD externally and don't care too much about SATA speed. However, it is important to me that armbian works without manual adjustments, because it wouldn't cope with them. Should I go ahead with the experiment?

  16. Hi, I need to help for understandable how set right clock hierarchy for i2s bus with external master-clock signal. This mode supported rockchip processors (RK3328, RK3399) but there are very small information how it can do. Today we have out of box in armbian for Nanopi Neo3 working I2S with master-clock from PLL, but I want change master-clock source from PLL to external signal. In souce and clock debugfs I find that I2S1 ("i2s1_pre") can be clocked from 4 sources: clk_i2s1_div, clk_i2s1_frac, clkin_i2s1, xin12m. By default parent for i2s1_pre set to clk_i2s1_div, which have parent cpll. Hence we must change parent for i2s1_pre to clkin_i2s1, but clock clki…

  20. I just wrote the Armbian Ubuntu Jammy Desktop image to an SD HC card and booted up fine with it (although I can only boot if I disconnect the HDMI cable -- when boot up is finished, I can plug it in and use the desktop. That's another story, but I have the same issue with official NanoPi Ubuntu images. Next, I transferred the Armbian OS to the eMMC and indicated that I wanted both the boot and system to be on the eMMC. After transferring the rootfs and getting the Power Off prompt, I powered off, then removed the SD HC card, then attempted to boot. However, when I tried to power on again, the NanoPi went into a reboot loop. Armbian will not boot without t…

Any thoughts on how I might do this? David

  23. Hi, i have installed the latest Armbian 23.5 Jammy on my opi+2e and since then, only the top left of the screen is showing text, like if the screen is divided in 4 and only the upper left is showing login screen and text. If I try to install a desktop environment, everything goes full screen, but I see the mouse cursor of login screen overlapped to desktop, so i have two mouse cursors: one fixed and the other that can be moved. WTF is going on? Why don't you test the images before you publish?

  26. Hi all. I have a Rockpro64 with u-boot flashed to SPI, and Armbian installed to NVMe drive*. Why not? I can pull down Debian Bookworm for the Raspberry Pi from the Debian site and install preempt_rt this way. Why does Armbian make it so hard? …

  37. Ramlog.service postrotate will execute a cat from /var/log.hdd directory to /var/log directory while rsyslog.service is always outputting stuffs in the background to /var/log directory. This in general has no problem except for some files which are mostly preoccupied with output from rsyslog during logrotate activation, namely syslog and a varieties of journals entries. I have found some of these postrotate failures with cryptic messages as write errors from cat and corresponding rsyslogd omfile module stating lost messages. I suspect two independent processes competing to send output to same files hence causing these errors. I don't know enough of detail but I think ther…

  38. Hi. I have my orange PI OPT 3 LTS running Ubuntu.. 46. Due to systemd, Journal is going to replace all journals sooner or later, it's already one of the busiest journaling on the sytem. The logs are binary and can't be rotated like text logs, they are already compressed and can't be read by text editor, instead only by journalctl. Thus, in /usr/lib/armbian/armbian-ramlog , the directory /var/log/journal is excluded from standard log rotation and copying to HDD. Instead, it is copied once to /var/log.hdd/journal and a soft-link is created: /var/log/journal pointing to -> /var/log.hdd/journal . The RAM logging was introduced to spare the SD card, preventing many write actions that wear the SD card qui…

Hi everyone! I've just got a new odroid c4 and am trying to hook it up to a small i2c oled display. I've wired it up to the I2C A SCA and SCL pins with 3.3V and GND as needed, and enabled both I2C A and B in armbian-config. However, when I run i2cdetect -y 0 I get the device grid with a 30 in position 30 and nothing else, both with the display hooked up or not, nothing changes. Is there anything obvious I might have missed to get I2C running? Thanks in advance for your help!

  55. Hello, Is it possible to set the speed of the UART3 to 921600 baud instead of 115000? How to do it? I need to connect to an arduino at that speed. I have tried with minicom but I can't get it. I have also tried to put the following command dtoverlay=miniuart-bt in /boot/armbianEnv.tx but it doesn't work either. to 115000 if I can connect well, therefore the port works correctly Is there any way?

But, I have a look at the services and I've found that haveged is still set. For what I know, since 5.18 version, "Linus" changed his mind for entropy (see https://www.phoronix.com/news/Linux-5.18-RNG). You can have a look at /proc/sys/kernel/random/entropy_avail which is always set to 256 now. Thanks again and best regards !

My question is, are Quectel modems natively supported by armbian (QMI? MBMI? ), or do I need to add the driver manually and rebuild the image??? Thank you (Yeah, it's a noob question ) Edit: Ok, I connected to modem to the board and realized that a wwan0 interface was created. That's fine, but I actually needed the serial port ttySx in order to sen AT-commands, but there is not one available... that's actually very strange.
