I am not sure if this is intended or bug, When building the image for Nanopi duo2 I cannot add kvm. This worked before so I guess that this is regression. Hi. I've upgraded Buinic to Eoan and encountered an error with apt-get. Decided to have a fresh install of Disco from https://dl.armbian.com/orangepizero/ and got exact same error. I'm getting logspam from RTL871X running buster on my OrangePi Plus 2e. I'm not using wifi on this so I guess I could just disable/blacklist rtl871x to stop this? But is there a better/cleaner way to stop all these log entries? Hi, I installed the desktop focal version of armbian in orange pi pc. It boots correctly but after install lvm2 and restart, it does not boot. If I don't restart the orangepi the lvm volumes works fine, but after reboot or shutdown it not boot. The steps I made: Install on sd with ubuntu (restore image directly). Start the orangepi pc. That's work. sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo shutdown -r now Here it works and boot correctly: sudo apt-get install lvm2 sudo shutdown -r now Here dont boot the orange pi: The log in serial console is: ***************************************************************** …

Hi, I want to use g_ether on NanoPi Neo Plus2. For Neo Air, I have already figured out how to do this and I can see usb0 in config. But with armbian 5.85 (4.19.38-sunxi64), the same instructions fail at sudo ifconfig usb0 up with the message "usb0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device". Could somebody tell me how to activate USB OTG on NanoPi Neo Plus2 and then use g_ether. I think the same holds true for g_serial. This could be an alternative, but I would prever ethernet connection. My target: Connect NanoPi Neo Plus2 with NanoPi Neo Air via Ethernet Thank you for your help! Steps I followed for g_ether:

Hi guys! I am making a separated network to connect my OPi3 to my old notebook to run some codes of my research. So, the problems is with ethernet connector in Orange Pi 3 that when I connect the cable from OPi3 to my switch LEDs just flash slow and in big intervals. When I try to ping from OPi3 to computer the ping just happens after big time later. I verify the cable and the switch with other devices (my personal notebook and my notebook from work). Everything is ok and running well. One thing blow my mind: when I connect cable from OPi3 directly to my notebook the LEDs of ethernet of OPi3 works normally but in the armbian the networks not alway…

I'm on the Olimex Teres running the newish Armbian Ubuntu 20.04 and I'm having a lot of trouble with the system intermittently freezing or slowing. Kernel 5.4.43 . I have a video of the issue and an image of the drive. The system isn't online to sync clock and dates may be skewed by some days. My usual routine is to boot the system into multi-user, run asciinema, run tmux, and then edit files with vim inside both. The issue starts after a bit. CPU and I/O usage stay low during the delays in responsiveness. Sorry if I am kinda irritated and frustrated in the video. I've been dealing with a lot of issues. I'm curious what systems the maintaine…

I am running Armbian Focal with Linux 5.4.43-sunxi64 (and now downgraded to 4.19.125-sunxi64) on my Orange Pi PC 2. I use motion software to provide a "18ec:5555 Arkmicro Technologies Inc. USB2.0 PC CAMERA" to the network. I also use pjsip to provide SIP functionality for the same device as audio input. As soon as I start pjsip for some reason I get a very high load average until the kernel detectets stalled CPUs and finally the entire device crashes. This worked fine in a previous version and started after I upgraded to focal. I did a kernel backtrace and this is what I got: [ 401.002517] sysrq: Show backtrace of all active CPUs [ 401.009965] sysrq: CPU1: [ 401.01…

Hi everyone, I'm facing a problem with logrotate on my OrangePi Zero with Armbian Focal mainline. Basically I have a process that is always running with a `tee` command that outputs the stdout to a log file in the /var/log/ directory. My logrotate configuration file looks like the following: /var/log/smartbit/gocpp.log { rotate 10 daily compress missingok notifempty copytruncate dateext } It's all working correctly except the copytruncate part: logs are daily rotated and gzipped but the gocpp.log is not truncated to 0 bytes, so it gets bigger and bigger. I noticed that in this new Armbian version logrotate is not triggered…

Is there anything that can be done about it? Something will start(e.g. minisatip, mumudvb) to disproportionately use the cpu and after a short time it will crash completely. A similar configuration works well on an OPI PC(Linux orangepipc 4.10.1-sun8i #1 SMP Sun Mar 5 18:47:02 CET 2017 armv7l GNU/Linux), but with newer versions it behaves just as incorrectly. I've tested other images (ubuntu, debian), but it's the same everywhere.

Hi, I am having a strange problem with my Orangepi One, I previously had a python script which was run on login using .bashrc. The python script controlled VLC using the python bindings and hence I could not use crontab -e or rc.local as they are run in the backgound. Previously .bashrc worked without any issues however either I updated VLC or armbian and now it does not run after I login (even using an autologin). Strangely enough however if I login via SSH the script runs. To access it I use : sudo nano /home/user/.bashrc To run the script I append to the end of the file without making any adjustments: echo Runnin…

Hello. I have an Orange Pi Zero board with Armbian on it. I want to use its serial pins for flashing arduinos. Right now I only have 1x3 serial pins and 1x13 media (?) pins soldered, the 2x13 GPIO doesn't have any pins and I don't have any spare ones to solder (alright, I might have some, but I'm too lazy for that). That means I only have access to UART0 pins which are currently reserved for Linux console. With RPi Zero and Raspbian the same problem was solved by simply removing "console=ttyAMA0,115200" from kernel options. However, Armbian seems to generate kernel options entirely from armbianEnv.txt, making it impossible to manually remove ser…

Using Armbian_20.02.1 with 5.4 kernel on NEO2 board, I'm running into an issue trying to get the USB OTG working with the g_ether module. When I run modprobe g_ether I see the following in dmesg: [ 490.490582] udc-core: couldn't find an available UDC - added [g_ether] to list of pending drivers I've also tried compiling my own img using the Armbian builder but it looks like all the correct OTG options are already selected by default. Hi. For some days I was working to compile a customized live distro based on Armbian and live-boot for my BananaPi M2+ board. Finally, it is ready to use. It boots from the builtin emmc flash and is completely readonly. It uses overlayfs together with squashfs. It also uses zram as swap to enhance memory capacity. A nice effect is that the sd/flash image becomes only 400mb, since it is squashed.. I would share the image and the details of making it, if somebody is interested, send me a message...

I have an Olinuxino A20. Armbian has no HDMI sound and the video playback is a bit painful. This doesn't happen on Libreelec and, from my understanding, it's partly due to some kernel patches that they applied. Is it possible to use Libreeleec's kernel on armbian? If so, can someone guide me a little on how to do it? Thank you very much.

I'm trying to set up an OPi Zero Plus 2 with Armbian Buster. As the board has no soldered USB connectors and mine is still in the mail, I was forced to do all this via the serial console via the three pins on the board. (So no nano or nmtui or anything that has an interface.) I run into a problem where a) I couldn't join my WiFi network and b) NetworkManager refused to believe I don't want to use IPv6. So I had to disable NetworkManager and go the wpa_supplicant route. So now I'm in the position that I got everything to work BUT I have to *manually* enable wpa_supplicant and then issue ifdown and ifup - all via the serial console - at every boot be…

Hi, I am fairly new to the SBC board and struggling to begin my setup of the NanoPo NEO Air. This little board is a perfect fit for my project I need to develop. Hi, I can boot off an SD card, but my Teres boots off internal storage to a black screen and I'm trying to figure out why. It seems even when I set verbose=7 in /boot/armbianEnv.txt, there is little to no kernel diagnostic output, even on a working SD card. I read on the debian wiki that u-boot-menu works on the Teres, but I tried installing this on an SD card and it prevents the SD card from booting (similarly to my internal storage booting issue). I've actually compared the contents of the unallocated space in front of the filesystem between the working sdcard and the internal storage, and they differ only in the partition table. Additionally …

Hello Team, I am worked on Olimex Lime2 rev.G2 board but now olimex start delivering Rev.K board. I used the same Armbian Rev 5.35 image which is having kernel version (4.13.16-sunxi) & u-boot version v2017.09. On Rev.G2 Ethernet speed was as expected but in rev.K it is not working. Later i reduce the eth0 speed to 10Mbps it start working as expected but spped is 10Mbps Some more info about the ethernet issue which will help to understand the issue more clearly - …

Hi all, everytime I turn on my Nano Pi it will sync the clock using NTP. When network is not enabled it will rewind the time to something that I still can't comprehend. I found lots of topics about people talking about how to add a RTC to the system, but none talking about the current RTC that is recognized by the kernel. Currently when the system is powered off and on (10 seconds distance) without network the time will rewind between 5 and 15 minutes. I understand that this happens because there is no RTC to write the current clock and battery to keep it. But there is obviously a RTC somewhere because removing power from the device and putting it back will keep a wrong b…

Is it possible to include an older kernel in my build? Something along the 3.x era? I really need to get an OV5640 working, and it would seem that 5.x kernels don't work with it. The thread is for an orange Pi, but I have a banana pi. Either way, it's an allwinner A20 and I've struck out getting the camera to be detected.

I have recently updated to Armbian Focal (Ubuntu 20.04). My Banana Pi M1 is running an apache server + some digital amateur radio stuff. So upload speed is important. My average download and upload speed as measured with speediest-cli is 45Mb/sec and 18Mb/sec respectively (wired connection to modem) With Focal I get these speeds with Buster (Debian 10) the download speed is still 45Mb/sec but the upload speed drops to 3.4 Mb/sec. These results are not one off but consistent. The am64 version of Buster does exactly the same thing.. My question is : can I change this with programming or is it a fixture in the kernel ? Can someone enlighten me please ? Rein

Hi, I have found a problem when I reboot my NanoPi Neo, related to WiFi + BL device which is plugged in USB 2.0 port. The WiFi device is a Realtek 8821cu and system loads driver correctly when I do a cold boot or if I hot-plug it, but it fails in a warm boot. After doing many tests, I realized that if I plug the WiFI dongle in a non-powered USB 2.0 hub and I connect this latter to the NanoPi Neo's USB 2.0 port, then it also works. I don't have anymore idea to solve it. The 8821cu driver fails because WiFi device shows itself like powered down.

Hi, I use BananaPro on Armbian Strech or Bionic, I try to use the GPIO python library (for bananapro from LeMaker github) gpio.add_event_detect() or GPIO.wait_for_edge(channel, GPIO.RISING) This usually disconnect my network and the event is never detected. I have to reboot the PI to restore the state. Also, a normal read/write state GPIO.input(PIN_NUM) works perfectly... I try this : https://forum.armbian.com/topic/3249-bananapi-m1-gpioadd_event_detect-not-working-after-switch-to-vanilla-kernel/ but not work. My python script work fine on Bananian on the same bananaPro. thank for your help.

Hi there, with Armbian Buster "OOB" (+update) I have following problem on Orange Pi 3: - Firefox (with language Polish) does not play network radio: https://www.rmfon.pl/play,25#p , - at the same time: - there are /dev/snd/ files, only for HDMI, but I have read that currently there is no driver for H6 audio, so I may expect at least ALSA is working, - VLC plays MP3 files correctly, (but it can play with pulse and ALSA), - pulseaudio is not started / configured / present. What should I do?

Hi, I am trying to write my own kernel module/drive for the NanoPi air, running a self-compiled version of armbian 5.83. Actually I only added the PREEMTION option to get real-time behavior when reading/writing from IO pins. I started using the "hello world" template from here. To get the module compiled I had to build the headers for my kernel as well using the option INSTALL_HEADERS in the armbian-build config file. The build debian-package called "linux-headers-next-sunxi_5.83_armhf.deb" was copied and installed on the NanoPi. OK, so now compiling (on the NanoPi - so no cross-compilation) works like a charm: > make make -C /lib/modules/4.…

Greetings! It's not a influential or serious bug. I couldn't control the LEDs on Orange Pi One Plus by the command setleds, So I navigated to /sys/class/leds, and there are two items: orangepi:green:status@ and orangepi:red:power@. I tried to do echo 255 > brightness respectively and found that: orangepi:green:status@ controls the RED LED, while orangepi:red:power@ controls the GREEN LED. Please tell me if it's a minor bug or an intentional setting, thank you.

Hello, I am working on a project in which we need to use a Nanopi Neo Air (based on SoC Allwinner H3). The USB host (which is the other part of the project) will send data to the Nanopi Neo Air whenever there is new data. Is it possible to configure the Nanopi Neo Air as a peripheral USB? Hello, I am trying to use g_serial but it does not work. I'm using fresh install of armbian (Armbian_5.38_Orangepilite_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.14.7z), with apt-get update/apt-get upgrade/armbianconfig Install headers. Linux orangepilite 4.14.15-sunxi #28 SMP Mon Jan 29 07:24:48 CET 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux This is the overlay I use to enable OTG: sudo /usr/sbin/armbian-add-overlay usbotg.dts /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "allwinner,sun8i-h3"; fragment@0 { target = <&usb_otg>; __overlay__ { dr_mode = "otg"; status = "okay"; }; }; }; After rebooting OPi there are several erro…

I started compiling some project (snowboy ) on the nanopiDuo2 like I am doing on the FriendlyCore 16.04 and suddenly the board stop working/booting. The red led is blinking fast, the same sd card is working on different boards, FriendlyCore does not boot on this board. "provide a log from serial console" I don't have serial cable yet. This happened to me twice, on Armbian 18.04 and on 20.04. First it destroyed the "IoT-2G Application Carrier Board for NanoPi Duo2" that it was on without the board, and the carrier had burnt smell, internet cable and power were connected. For one of them the red led is blinking fast, for the other the led do…

(Edit: it's a red herring for me to worry about swap. Please see a few posts down...) Hello. My NanoPi Neo 2 only has 512MB RAM. I'm using it for OpenMediaVault. It starts swapping very badly (totally paralysing it) when I FTP 60GB worth of tiny files into an attached 500GB SSD SATA drive (attached with the NAS kit). Yes, ProFTPd is RAM-hungry! I know how to create and work with traditional linux swap files. I'm a noob to this whole zram thing, which I suspect is more trouble than it's worth. I would prefer to not use zram, and use a traditional swap file on an attached 6TB 3.5" SATA drive (attached over USB 2.0 with UAS). It's a backup dri…
