  1. I installed Armbian onto a reliable 16GB class 10 SD card, put it into an Orange Pi 3 with a 5v 3000 mA power supply (not a phone charger) and I've bumped into this error.. ALERT! /dev/mmcblk0p1 does not exist. Dropping to a shell! The armbianmonitor -u command was not found so I had to take a photo of the computer screen. I'm not sure what is going on here and I couldn't find someone who had this error on an Orange Pi 3 before. If anyone has some advice I'd love to hear it.

I have tried to disable the HDMI from the u-boot console using this commands : -setenv video-mode sunxi:1024x768-24@60,monitor=none -saveenv I have also tried to recompile the boot.cmd but even in this way nothing. Corrently i'm using : Linux lime 4.19.62-sunxi #5.92 Where is my mistake? Thanks in advance.

  3. Guys! I have two of the original Pine64+ boards from the kickstarter (with LCD) and tried to launch the latest armbian image on them. 6. I've created an armbian minimal image for my pinebook with luks encryption. It works fine but I cannot see the password prompt on screen... the boot process is: * The armbian uboot is displayed * Then a black screen... After a few seconds I'm assuming it is time to put my luks password, so I do it * Then the screen starts to show the boot text Is this expected? Am I doing something wrong? I don't want to install plymouth, just the usual LUKS password prompt. Thanks!

  7. Hi! I didn't find much info in the forum on how to correctly apply RT patch to the Armbian (Orange Pi Zero Plus H5 board). Here is how I did: Built Armbian as follows: 1) I downloaded patch-5.4.22-rt13.patch from https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/5.4/ and placed into ~/build/userpatches/kernel/sunxi-current ( I saw from the logs that this is the folder for the builder to search for user patches in my case) 2) Started ./compile.sh --> FULL OS image for flashing --> Show a kernel configuration menu before compilation --> orangepizeroplus (H5) as target board --> current (recommended , which is 5.4.23…

  8. Hi everyone, I have a problem when work on OPi zero wifi which is running Armbian linux sunxi 4.19.62. I used nmtui to configure wifi connection with static ip. It works fine even rebooting or re-powering up however I tried to power off the router and the result is it has never reconnected again. Next, I plugged in the ethernet cable into RJ45 port, the connection is established. I use sudo ifconfig to show the information, I saw that both the wifi (static) and ethernet are correctly then I can access via ssh or scanning the ip. One again, I continued plugging out the ethernet cable, all connections were disappeared even wifi and connection via ssh is failed. …

  11. Hi there, I have 2 OPi PC+, one was with Jessie, then upgraded to Stretch, Working almost fine, only one issue was "systemctl start postgresql.service" not working. I used a workaround, "su - postgres -c 'pg_ctl start'". Postgres not from repo (previously was from repo) but compiled from source, as I need at least version 10 for "logical replication". Not at some point of time, I noticed message, that kernel package is to upgrade (3.4.112 to 3.4.113). After reboot graphics don't start. "No screens found". Ok, so I tried to upgrade (apt update, apt upgrade, apt dist-upgrade after changing name in /etc/apt/ files). Now it's almost crash: - graphics …

  12. Hello After spending hours of trying to create an older DEV kernel (5.1.21) here are the following steps in order that it will work. I will describle here about the 5.1.21 kernel but I think it can work for any kernel. 1. create lib.config file under build/userpatches with the following: KERNELBRANCH='branch:orange-pi-5.1' 2. And this is what create the magic: download the Armbian files that matches that distribution and replace all the files in the build directory: for example I have downloaded from here - This link is the build version from the branch of the 5.1.: https://github.com/FireflyTeam/armbian-build/tree/e…

  17. I want to drive 2 SPI devices on my orangepi zero. I enabled `spi-spidev` and `spi-add-cs1` overlays and set `param_spidev_spi_bus` to 1. But by I still get only `/dev/spi1.0` available. When I add `param_spidev_spi_cs=1`, I get `/dev/spi1.1` but `/dev/spi1.0` disappears. Do I see it correctly that I can choose *either* `/dev/spi1.0` *or* `/dev/spi1.1` but not both with that overlay? How can I activate both cs pins? There are a bunch of example custom files out there, but none are meant specifically for the setup where I need spi1 (instead of spi0) and need to use a GPIO pin for cs1. And I can't really find any docs on how to write my own overlay. So any help is appr…

  18. Hi, I have recently installed latest (20) Armbian Desktop for OPi PC(+), have problems installing software from network repo (synaptic). 1). Now there is PgAdmin4, but (I) cannot make it work (compile from source OK, but doesn't start)., there is N…

All four devices are in this situation (and they are new!). There is any thing we can do?

(I will test with serial later, I do not have the time to remove it from the case at the moment; I figured I would post it now in case anyone had a chance to check before I could.)

  48. Hi, I am new here and searched the forums for an answer to my questions regarding the NanoPi NEO2 and NEO Plus2. Most answers I could find, but a few were left open. The NEO Plus2 is marked as WIP. Why? What do I have to expect not to work? Both boards are similarly old, from what I could find. Will the Plus2 move up to "supported" eventually or does it currently more look like the route is going towards CSC? Do common features like GPIO access, SPI, I2C ... work with current images? Do specific features where the Plus2 differs from the NEO2 like WiFi, Bluetooth, ... work? I already found out, that the second USB port should work…

Had a bit of a success with HDMI audio and also video acceleration on OrangePi 3. What was needed was to apply some patches from LibreELEC, namely ones from projects/Allwinner/patches/linux/ . For HDMI audio to work you need 0004-sun4i-i2s-improvements.patch , which contains support for I2S on H6. When done right you should see in dmesg: asoc-simple-card sound: i2s-hifi <-> 5091000.i2s mapping ok Also what helped was an IRC chat that Jernej had with mirko some time ago: https://irclog.whitequark.org/linux-sunxi/2018-03-14 For video acceleration you need 0005-cedrus-improvements.patch and compile Cedrus driver. Hi everyone, I want to have a diskless Orange Pi Win, i'm trying to get the Ethernet to work in u-boot, but it does not seem to connect at all with my router when booting, no blinking led at all (none on the Pi neither on the router), I tried différents cables, ports, searched on the web, found some "patches" on DTS file on the web for pine64... 68. Ok, so, first of all, I am a complete noob. I bought Banana Pi thinking that it is similar to Raspberry Pi's architecture but it's obviously not. I bought a 240x240 Waveshare 1.3 inch hat and I was wondering how to get it working on my Banana Pi Zero (H2+). On Raspberry Pi I can use Juj's fbcp-ili9341 driver but it's probably not compatible with Armbian, right? How do I go about it? Also, it would be nice to know how to detect buttons (that are on the hat) and convert them to key strokes. Thanks!

  69. Thanks for providing the new Buster image (5.4.7) for Orange Pi One Plus. All the essential stuff works well, giving me new software possibilities. As a technical feedback, I'd just like to mention 1) the red light keeps shining (instead of turning green, but Armbian runs very well, anyway) 2) an attached monitor doesn't receive any signals (but I prefer SSH anyway) 3) the console keyboard layout wouldn't accept any changes (but using SSH, that doesn't make any difference now). Everything else in armbian-config worked fine. Great tool!

However HDMI output seems to be broken and I have composite video USB dongle at my hand and it boots... but I can not do anything with it. 93. Armbianmonitor for 5.4.6: http://ix.io/260C From switching between 4.19.x and 5.4.x kernels I noticed that the lower cpu frequencies got missing. 94. I'm trying to send a music from my NAS on the base of Cuibetruck (Allwinner Tech SOC A20 ARM Cortex-A7 Dual-Core T) Ubuntu Xenial with Armbian Linux 3.4.113-sun7i with bluealsa to my bluetoothreceiver connected to speakers. My working configs are in my answer to the question: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1197072/sending-audio-to-bluetooth-speaker-with-bluealsa Anyway when I play mp3 with mpd or wav with aplay the music is extremely stuttering. Question on bluealsa Github (https://github.com/Arkq/bluez-alsa/issues/279) ended with advice to check UART set up (which is already too complicated for me). My question is anybody managed to setup a nice and smooth audio ou…

  95. Hi, I'm running a NEO2 with Ubuntu at a remote location, so watchdog would be very important to have. Didn't use it before, but afaik H5 SoC supports hardware watchdog. How should I turn it on and do I need to install and configure anything? I read about H3, but not sure about H5. Thanks!

Hello everyone, Apologies if this is not the right forum for this questions, but could not find any more appropriate one after some searching. I get an HTTP 404 when I try to access the pre-built images for the nanopi m1 plus from the board page. I know the board is EOS but for other EOS boards I can still download the images. Is there any reason why this board seems to have disappeared completely ?

  100. Hello. I'm writing a program that requires sound.target. I was reading about sound.target and how it's a special systemd unit that doesn't load until the system finds the sound card. Armbian takes quite a bit of time to find the sound card on the OPi, around 30 seconds. Or, maybe it's something else that's making it take so long. I was wondering if there was a way I could mess around with systemd or something else to make the sound card found faster, thus sound.target and my program loading faster upon powering on the device. Thank you
