Hello, I am developing a project that will use the ethernet module ENC28J60 on orangepi pc plus, but I do not know how to configure armbian to enable using the module. Searching the internet I just found solutions for raspberry. I have already enabled the spi-spidev option using the armbian-config tool. What should I do now? Thanks.

I flashed the latest Armbian image on my NanoPi Neo 2 Plus's emmc. According to https://linux-sunxi.org/Linux_mainlining_effort I2S is not part of the mailinke kernel for H5. I can use I2S with Friendlyelec's images. However, I prefer Armbian. Is it somehow possible to use I2S with an Armbian image on this board?

After some months not using my OrangePi One, yesterday I installed Armbian 5.90 buster 4.19.57 (previously I had a stretch release). I did a clean install, downloading the image and burning the microSD with it. I noticed the button now works for 1st time since I bought the OrangePi One. It shuts down the device, no need to install or configure nothing. But, previous Armbian versions I had, were able to set the machine CPU speed at 1.2 and 1.1 GHz. Now (with Armbian 5.90) the maximum is 1 GHz. On previous releases, the file /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy0/scaling_available_frequencies contained: 240000 480000 648000 816000 912000 9…

I know Lamobo-r1 has many problems and that the support ended, but it works fine for me. Everything works fine with kernel 4.14.84-sunxi, however, when I update the kernel, the b53 switch does not work anymore. I need to update the kernel to add another wifi usb dongle that seems to work only with newer kernels (https://github.com/aircrack-ng/rtl8812au/issues/272#issuecomment-467983704). Anybody experiencing the same problem? Any ideas for a workaround?

Hi, I'm new to the Armbian/Alt PI scene, coming from a RPI Zero W. I'm needing to interact with my PI using a CH340G (is it compatible) USB to TTL dongle. I've also trjed a CH351A device, put it into UART mode. Unfortunately, I get nothing from the PI. Despite using the primary RX/TX pins. I've also tried enabling all of the UART pins using armbian-config, and using another set of pins - to no avail. Please view my setup below. I've run out of ideas of where I'm going wrong. I've tried these images: Armbian_5.90_Nanopineo2_Debian_buster_next_4.19.57 Armbian_5.90_Orangepione_Ubuntu_bionic_next_4.19.57 Refer…

As I told on another topic, yesterday I installed Armbian 5.90 buster 4.19.57 on my OrangePi One. Now, when it boots, all the output text goes to the bottom line of the screen, with each line overwritting the previous one (no scroll). Then it asks for username, and when I type it it asks for password, overwritting the username I typed. And it probably displays the wellcome banner, but I just see the last line of the banner. Once logged, I have to type "clear" and then I can use the full screen, and it scrolls. That happens on the console, if I start a new session from another machine (using PuTTY) it works fine. My password …

Hi, who knows how to fix the problem of the displaced screen on the right? This is how Armbian appears with the latest build https://dl.armbian.com/orangepi3/nightly/Armbian_5.90.190705_Orangepi3_Ubuntu_bionic_dev_5.1.15.7z and this is how it appears to me with an old build with kernel 5.0.7, so it's not the monitor's fault Regards

I encountered a very strange boot behavior on OrangePI Plus 2E. When I boot from SD card with the desktop Armbian image, I'm having just an input of some color on HDMI (photo attached). No U-boot output on screen, but considering UART output both U-boot and system boot with no errors (log file is attached). Boot with the server Armbian image goes just fine, except no U-boot output on screen (only on UART) and screen resolution is 1280x720, while native resolution for the display is 1920x1080. Until recently everything worked just fine with both desktop and mainline images, and U-boot giving proper output on screen in 10920x1080 resolution. What I tried so far: …

I use OrangePi R1 with connected RS485-TTL module to UART1 (PG6, PG7). RS485 communicates with a heatpump. Heatpump transmits data to RS485 module and I read and decode the data with a program and make some ACK replies. Everything worked fine for a month till OrangePi Power Adapter died. I have replaced Power Adapter and my program now stopped working. I have already spent couple days debugging. Replaced the cable from the heatpump to RS485-TTL module. Tried to see what is happening on the RS485 line with oscilloscope. Start of the diagram always looks good, but the end is skewed and corrupt. It seems like RS485 tries to send data while it receives and ce…

Can the Audio port on the Orange Pi Win Plus A64 also output video (like TV output)? It seems like most of the orange Pi boards with an audio jack can do this and the CubieTruck (which is an A20 board) can do the same as well. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks!

Hello all. Okay: I am a total newbie to Orange Pi. I apologize upfront for any and all obvious self inflicted mistakes that you all spot. AGAIN: total newbie to the Orange Pi world. Hello, There seems to be scant details about the NanoPi Neo 2 LTS, so I thought I'd contribute some. My testing is much less formal than how some would measure it. What I especially like to do in the way of network speed testing are the "worst-case scenarios". My way of invoking a sort of "torture test" is to mostly test upload speeds (as they tend to be slower than download speeds), both large files (much easier), as well as uploading many tiny files (much more gruelling to store, so is therefore a major "torture test"). Having said that, I'll usually favor all-GbE networking (noting which I'm using, GbE or wifi), because I know GbE will b…

Dear Armbian team, I am using debian stretch with orange pi PC ( Linux orangepipc 4.19.38-sunxi #5.83 SMP Fri May 3 23:33:25 CEST 2019 armv7l GNU/Linux ). At the moment by default when I press the power button, it shutdowns the orangepi pc, and I have to plug off/on the power supply to reboot the device. I would like to modify this behavior, to program custom actions when the button is pressed. If possible it would be nice to be able to distinguish between short press and long press. I tried without success to follow the manual instructions, and add the custom overlay gpio-button.dts. Also tried the acpi package approach without a…

Good afternoon, please help configure the rotation of the logs. I am completely new to this system, unfortunately, I can not find a normal instruction on how to configure rotatilog. My problem is that the logs are full, and my necessary scripts stop working. If I constantly clear the logs manually, then the scripts work fine. I tried to configure the rotation in accordance with the instructions, it only works before the reboot, after the reboot, everything I fixed with the rotation changes the paths to /var/log.hdd/. Please help me make sure that all logs do not exceed 1m. and constantly spinning. I apologize in advance if not fully expressed his thought.

I'm trying to use PA18/PA19 for custom purposes. I need to put these pins to Input state without any pullups/pulldowns. What I can achieve is: to put these pins to input state via the command: gpio mode 30 in gpio mode 31 in ("tri" instead of "in" does not work, it accepts the command, but a multimeter shows the input is still high, as well as gpio readall) These pins are probably pulled high because they are I2C pins. I'm using lirc on an armbian stretch 9.9. the ir receiver works fine, but when I try to emit with the command: irsend SEND_ONCE tv KEY_5 (tv is the name of my lircd.conf), those ir signals that I previously recorded and saved on my lircd.conf file it shows the following error: Hardware does not support sending error running command: Input/output error Thanks in advance.

Hello, I had a telecommunication technician logged onto my router + later that night a power outage. Now my pi (not sure before or after or related to anything), now the lights go on the pi (both + the one on the network), I can see it on the router with an IP but that is it. I can't logon to it on that IP with Putty nor can I ping it from the console on the PC. I tried now 3-4 of the builds (older ones, one official one and so on) with the flash card, but always the same. I don't have an USB to TTL converter to try that route. Is there anything else I can do? There is no way to do a hard reset, right?

Hi guys, I have PCDuino 3 Nano which worked fine on latest ARMBIAN on Debian Jessie which is moving to EOL and armbian support for this board was dropped due to lack of devices. I have used it mainly as OMV sever with sata drive but now I migrate to a x86 install and this board will be wiped as I would like to use at as vpn server etc. What are my alternatives? I know that still are a lot of A20 boards that have armbian support. Which of them I can use and what probably won't work?

Hello! Is there any way to config the frequency used by the DRAM driver when throttling takes place, or even better, disable the DRAM throttling at all? First of all, I have to say that that I'm pushing my Orange Pi Zero H3 board to run at very hot temperatures due to my CPU throttling settings so I can play some retro arcade games (I know I may burn it). But it seems the DRAM driver has its own throttling settings, and it takes place reducing DRAM frequency to 132Mhz. At such DRAM frequency there is flickering at HDMI output. I'm powering a small PCB via the OTG port on my OPI PC Plus, however sometimes I need to be able to reboot the device. It is possible to cut power to the OTG port momentarily to force a reboot? I've seen mention of PL2 GPIO, but it is unclear to me how this should be setup. I've also looked at uhubctl, but that didn't work. Thoughts?

Hi I discovered that there are two versions of M64 bananapi. The first version on which all the kernel numbers go. The second version, which is not the kernel 4.19.x - kernel panic. The system will not run. I can not give you memory numbers because I covered it with sticking the heat sink. The first version is a model bought in 2016. The second version is the this year's model. The situation is similar to that of Nano pi T3 +

Hello folks! I'm investigating an odd issue of the OPi R1 board, with the image Armbian_5.83_Orangepi-r1_Debian_stretch_next_4.19.38. With this version of software the board works fine, but apparently the wifi cannot reconnect after a disconnection (error: association request to the driver failed) The only workaround I found is to manually bring down the wifi interface and then back up; then the reconnect is almost immediate. I tried to disable the NetworkManager and now I'm using /etc/network/interfaces file to handle the connections but the problem still persists. I checked the issue with another R1 board and so I can exclude that the boa…

I am compiling the armbian for orangePi3, using the armbian tools ... and the compilation works fine. It works both from the kernel_only and from the entire image But I have a problem with the current version of the kernel, because it turns out that it does not support the hdmi-vga adapter and I would like to compile the 5.07 kernel instead of the 5.10. When I switched it from legacy kernel to lastest development kernel 4.11.x, the bluetooth card disappeared. So I exchange two dongles each other , the one in USB port works, and the one in USB-OTG port always failed. Is there any solution?

Hi guys, I've been having problems on my NanoPi Duo implementing a music streaming service using Alsa PCM to output the audio. When calling snd_pcm_open with the nonblock flag set, I had snd_pcm_writei returning a broken pipe error several times per day (when continuously playing). I noticed not setting this flag and, thus, allowing snd_pcm_writei to block until there was enough room in the Alsa PCM buffer, did not show this problem. This was however unusable because the blocking behaviour slowed down the rest of the software enough to be annoying. I think I solved it now by checking with snd_pcm_avail_update if there's enough room available, …

Hello everyone :-). I would like help, I checked on the Web and I found using the forum a script (that I modified) to trigger using DTS LEDs. I adapted the script found here at the end of the page: Topic 112-dtb-howto-add-leds I think that for the section "disk-activity" and "netdev" it misses options but I'm not a developer just a scheming. Here is my script, everything works fine (compiled with armbian-add-overlay), but "disk-activity" and "netdev" do not work. I tested the write / read trigger on disk but did no…

Recently I borrowed my Orange Pi PC2 to a friend, and he fails to set up SSH connection w/ it. After debugging w/ HDMI monitor, I found ssh_host_ecdsa_key, ssh_host_ed25519_key and ssh_host_rsa_key are preloaded to the Orange Pi PC2 image, which prevented SSH from working. Even if it doesn't prevent working of SSHD, it's also a severe security hole -- that means all Armbian installation with the same image will uses the same host key and they're vulnerable to MITM attack. I think these files should be purged when generating image, and regenerated when first powerup. It's what AOSC OS images do.

Hi, Sorry, I don't know if correct topic, but I have a Orange PI 3 and have problem with DNS resolution. I tried with image Armbian_5.82.19042 based in Debian and Ubuntu but is imposible make to work. I added the line net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1 in /etc/sysctl.conf file but this change not resolved the problem. For example if I try to ping www.google.com sometime take a 25 second for DNS resolve to IP address. I don't see any problem with my local network because I have other devices that not have any problem with DNS resolution. Please, your help.

After upgrade to latest kernel (4.19.38) my device only boots into maintenance mode. System is on emmc and no problems before. I started armbian-config and switched back to previous kernel, but it doesn't boot system. Even with all USB devices disconnected it didn't start (as i see there are some usb errors in log), file system seems to be clean, just didn't start system in normal mode.... Any advice? Thx Update: OK, solved, after installing latest updates within maintenance mode its ok again....

I am having problems with the NanoPi R1. I loaded the latest Armbian for R1 on flash. All works good. I went to armbian-config to load into eMMC. The last step of the process had weird text on the dialog, I clicked "OK" anyway, and the process seemed to be working. But after removing uSD card and rebooting, the board does not work. The red led stays on solid. Did anyone successfully burn the image from uSD to eMMC using the tool in armbian-config?

Hi, I guess this question depends on knowing the OPi Lite hardware reset button capabilities before being able to answer the following question. but here goes: Does anyone know if the OPi Lite button can be scripted/coded to not only execute a shutdown or reboot command but to do both? So, say, a single short press would gracefully reboot the OS while a long press (hold for, say, 4 seconds) would perform a shutdown? Thanks!
