Hi. I'm looking for your kernel sources 3.4.113 with Mali400Mp driver. Is there a repo where I can download it or I have to patch myself the sunxi-v3.4.104-r0 kernel. In case there is no repo and I have to do this myself could you please tell me if my approach is correct for cubieboard2 and cubietruck3. 1) Download the sunxi kernel 3.4.104-r0 2) Download the armbian sources 5.24 3) Patch the kernel 3.4.104-r0 using lib/patch/kernel/sun7i-default files Did I forget something ? It would be so much better if I could download your full patched kernel 3.4.113 with Mali400MP driver. I am far from being an expert in this work. Thx

hi, I'd like to ask regarding the behavior of eht: I want to use eth wire connection as primary ISP connection and wireless connection (using wifi dongle, different network) as backup ISP connection. But when I disconnect the cable physically, the eth0.101 subinterface is sill up, keeping it's IP address. Here's the config: cat /etc/network/interfaces # In real world, this is used on the same situations of auto but the difference is that it will wait an event like "plug the cable" on ethernet interfaces. allow-hotplug eth0 . . . # receive IP-Address from your DSL- or cablemodem auto eth0.101 # Replace "dhcp" with "manual" in the next line, if you are g…

Hello, I'm running a freshly installed armbian with mainline kernel 4.9.5 on my cubietruck. Between u-boot messages and login prompt I don't get any output while booting. I've tried several values for the "console" parameter in the armbianEnv.txt and recompiled the /boot/boot.scr file without success. I've tested both VGA and HDMI (with an HDMI to VGA adapter) outputs without success too. What should I do to get things to work please ? Thanks for your time and your great work on armbian.

Orange Pi Zero - SPI1 - SPI_MOSI - Seems "weak" SPI_SCLK is Peak-to-Peak 3.3v (no problem) SPI_MOSI is Peak-to-Peak 165mv (whoa strange! hooked up to the o-scope) I suspect that MOSI is "dead" in my config since the waveform matches SPI_SCLK almost exactly, so perhaps it's crosstalk or something of that sort. I think my FEX is good. Anybody else with experience? Does anyone else experience this problem? root@orangepizero:/dev# ls -al spi* crw------- 1 root root 153, 0 Jan 28 12:17 spidev0.0 crw------- 1 root root 153, 1 Jan 28 12:17 spidev1.0 [spi0] spi_used = 1 spi_cs_bitmap = 1 spi_mosi = port:PC00<3><…

I need to use non-standard baud rate (125000) on the serial port. Communication works very reliably, but dmesg says: "Python sets custom speed on ttyS1. This is deprecated." What should my attitude towards it? Can I ignore it? I read, that it is necessary to make some changes in the "asm/termios.h". It is necessary ? Could it be a normal part of the kernel? Moreover - I do not know how to do it. Thanks.

Hi everyone, First of allm thank you for all the stuff on your site / forum, I recently decided to give a try to an orange pi board, and chose the orange pi plus. I have downloaded and installed the raw file of jessie desktop found on the site, and then tried to launch it. At the first startup, I had a message about my ethernet connector, gmac probed... no PHY... and then the process continue, the card shut down. I unplug/plug in the power supply, and then the board correctly boot up, and I was able to log in. The wifi is working fine (I use it now), but I don't have the ethernet connection. The ethernet cable is plug in, my ISP's router has a DHCP server…

Hi all. I have a Banana Pi M1+ and I want to use it as a NAS using a SATA HDD (1TB). I got my lite days ago, and have tried lots of images, none of them can recognize the build-in wifi Instead, a eth0 device is presented. is it the actual wlan? Armbian gives me the best compatibility so far (in terms of usb support) I can read the chip module is printed realtek 8189FTV, but lsmod shows me a 8189es module loaded. By google around, no luck for the FTV version driver. I also played with the script.bin, but still no luck. Anyone can give me some hints. Thanks.

Hi friends, I am using armbian on orangepi lite and it is brilliant! My orange pi zero is on the way. One question - sometimes I want to make wifi AP from my armbian and sometimes I want armbian to be wifi client. Now it connects successfully to my wifi as a client. I am looking for terminal commands to switch between modes (AP vs. client) on the fly. Any ideas how to do it? Ideally I would like to run two commands: - one command to act as wifi AP (with specified wifi name, password, etc.) - second command to act as wifi client (to connect to specific network with password, etc.) Any idea how to do it, please? P.S. LAN port (on orange pi zero) should always…

Hello Guys, I want to use airodump-ng (Aircrack-ng Suite) or Kismet to get all WiFi Clients in the area. For that, I would like to use the internal WiFi Chipset (so I don't have to use an external WiFi Dongle). My problem is, after I enable the monitor mode (with iwconfig and/or airmon-ng), which gives me no error and it says, the monitor mode is enabled, I am getting no results with Airodump-ng nor Kismet. Are there any solutions for this problem? Is is the driver not capeable of using monitor mode? Thanks in advance, KittFanNr1

Hi, I installed the Xenial Mainline 4.6.7 image for the Orange PI PC+. That works fine and I can boot into the system. Until the day Armbian can auto-configure HDMI output (with respect to a TV or DVI computer monitor), the thought occurred to me that the Beelink X2 defaults to Android KitKat 4.x, and from there maybe it's possible to plug in the TF card that you'll be rebooting into, then access the card from Android to makes changes, like: h3disp -m 720p60 -d If a DVI-monitor is expected to boot into. I was even brushing up on MIT App Inventor to make presets from Android side, but my skills drop off sharply at that point. The practical reason for his, is not only to show the neighbors but also have a media player anywhere there's a screen. In conclusion, I don't know what m…

In Ubuntu Xenial how do we disable framebuffer switching and font switching? My Orange Pi Plus 2e v1.1 has the usual problem with HDMI-to-DVI converters but it's unusual in this case because it's switching framebuffers and fonts. The screen appears just fine during boot, but just after the message "Starting kernel..." the screen blanks and goes into power-saving poweroff with no return. I've seen this before, and I have tried several things to prevent the dead screen. I tried editing /boot/armbianEnv.txt to contain these lines like I have on other SBCs like PINE A64 and older Orange Pi devices that solved this problem: disp_mode=720p60 disp_dvi_compat=1 I …

Hello, I've been trying to use DNSCrypt on ARMBian Debian on OrangePi Zero. I'm following this guide (exact revision link for future reference), and it was working great on Raspbian in Raspberry Pi, When I try the same guide, it compiles, installs successfully, runs the daemon, however it doesn't actually work, saying "connection timed out; no servers could be reached". When I'm not using daemon, and run manually, this time it says "Unable to bind (TCP)". But when I compile and use in Ubuntu, it works nicely. This is my GitHub issue on DNSCrypt repository, including all my tests and inputs: https://github.com/jedisct1/dnscrypt-proxy/issues/561 …

Hello, I try to get WiFi P2P working on the Nano Pi Neo Air with a 4.x mainline kernel and so I tried the latest available nightly build "Armbian_5.24.170118_Nanopiair_Ubuntu_xenial_4.9.4.img" but I have problems to establish a connection. Does anybody have WiFi P2P working on the Nano PI Neo Air? The problem seems be a problem with the P2P_CLIENT interface creation at the brcmfmac driver. Hi all, Today my second OPi arrived, a +2E. I already have an OPi PC which is working like a charm. So I ordered a +2E as well. I have an older monitor (Dell 2007WFP) with DVI connector and a native resolution of 1680x1050. From previous experience from the OPi PC, I know that I had to run the 'h3disp' tool to set up this resolution and to make it work via an HDMI-DVI cable. So I connected my new +2E through a normal HDMI cable to my 1080p TV, installed Armbian (Jessie desktop, with legacy kernel), updated to the latest release through 'apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade' and after a reboot ran 'h3disp -m 36 -d', just as I had with the OPi PC. After r…

Hello everyone, I've recently bought an OrangePI PC Plus with an intentions to make it (beside others) a multimedia center. Because of community and pretty good status of armbian on h3, I've downloaded and installed (a.k.a copied to sd) the latest armbian I found (5.20 with kernel 3.4.112). Everything went ok, I've got graphical desktop, hw accelerated h264 and h265 over hdmi to my tv. So the next step was to install kodi. An that's the point where my troubles started. After I installed kodi and probably updated the whole armbian (apt update && apt upgrade && apt dist-upgrade), I noticed that my TV turns off almost immediately I turn it on to h…

Lucky me received a Beelink X2 as a gift days ago. I flashed Legacy 3.4.112 to a Samsung EVO and am pretty stoked to see this display on an HDMI TV. It doesn't display to DVI but I saw reference to h3disp, so I have hope this applies. I'd like to incorporate a Traveller mode (I made that up) that can be set so the unit knows monitors are likely to change and find an automatic way for this to detect DVI. I'll also get a cheap USB soundcard and output to a monitor that has a soundbar and avoid SPDIF for a while. That's about it: play tutorials and enjoy what Armbian can do. I can't tell you how blown away I am with this neat little Beelink X2, or how much I'm in aw…

Well a little info, I've been using my orangepi one with an SDR dongle to track airplanes with flightradar24 for the last few months. My intentions were to use a POE adapter and run the board outside near the antenna at one point. I have now received the final parts and went to move it today. It has been running flawlessly for a month with my POE adapter off of a switch near my PC in my shop. I now plan on connecting it to the main switch on my LAN. So previously my setup was: Router -> switch -> long ethernet to shop -> swtich -> orangepione now I want to run it: Router -> switch -> long ethernet to outside -> orangepione But for some reason…

Hello I'm using OPI PC + with 8GB external SD card. I detected a strange bug. I was using nand_sata_install.sh script to install Armbian to emmc card. So far so good, I was messed with configuration and decided to start over. Wrote fresh image into SD card and power up. So far so good until I rebooted. System boot up from EMMC instead from external SD card. When reboot again it start from SD card. I was wondering WTF is happening. Thinking about system is somehow confused so I delete emmc card partition. Now even with fresh install it boots one time from SD card, on second reboot it fail too boot (because I erased emmc), when restart again it boot from SD ............…

Hi, I'm trying to send IR command from a IR led from an Orange Pi, i have it working fine on an Arduino, but it seems that on linux it's a bit more complicated as there are no lib that can control a GPIO with an IR transmitter, it seems that everybody is using LIRC. I see for raspberry pi this needs to be done : EDIT /etc/modules WITH : lirc_dev lirc_rpi gpio_in_pin=23 gpio_out_pin=22 the Orange PI devier module is different, so i do not know how to control it to let it know where the transmitter is. Anybody managed to get this to work ? Thx

Hallo, I use Armbian for some time now, usually I can solve all problems myself. Recently, one of my boards has gone bad (or mad?). I started using this particular board on 10/11/2016. Installed Armbian (5.20) from images available on that day. Everything went nice, no problems, pretty much no load for whole days. On 20/12/2016 something began to use 1 core of CPU. No idea what. On 23/12/2016 board stopped responding completely. I haven't accessed/used system from 20/12/2016 so I was not aware of problem. I turned it off later. I removed SD card from board and used with other OrangePi One just fine. But this board behaves strange. I re-installed Armbian and it se…

Hello! I build my own image using the provided scripts. I want to be able to run a headless opi system just with ethernet and two usb wireless interfaces. The lastest build works fine when you are using it but doesn't boot if a HDMI cable is not connected. If you boot it with a HDMI plugged in there is no problem, boot ok, ethernet up and all right. I think that could be a configuration of u-boot but there isn't config files in the filesystem of the pi. Anybody kwow the solution? Thanks!

After I got my OPiPC+ to finally boot without HDMI, it wouldn't boot in my shop. I originally had it in the bedroom because that's where a convenient HDMI TV was AND that's where the U-Verse router is. In the shop, it went through an HP Procurve 2626 switch but would hang early in the boot process. Logged into the switch and found that most ports were set to "100FDpx". I changed the Pi port to "Auto100" and within seconds, the Pi was booting. Yay! Most people won't have such a problem using ordinary switches. A year ago, I needed more ports in the shop and got a great deal on this one locally. I didn't need 24 ports or the feature set but it was $40.00. T…

Hey there. I ve been using armbian since a couple of years now. Today, out of the blue, I receive a 'user is not in the sudoers file '. I currently I'm using ARMBIAN Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS 4.8.4-sunxi. Obivuously, my user WAS a sudoer, actually, it is the only user. Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi guys, first I want to thank you for your marvelous work. I've learned much... I've ordered a Nano Pi Neo Air and two Nano Pi Neo from Friendly Arm which arrived last week to build some squeezelite clients and drop them around the house. At the moment I'm just using some cheap USB-C-Media Soundcards but plan to invest in better ones, if the multi-room solution I have in mind is used enough. The Nano Pi Neo (not Air) does exactly what it should using the Ubnuntu Xenial Image from the download page. Cheers! For the Air's I've used the Debian release, don't know really why ;-) At first I've bootet it from a SD-Card after a direct eMMC-Flash using https:…

Hi! Is it only me or there are no updates to packages? Let me explain, I'm running jessie server on A20 latest stable kernel and when I run apt-get update, apt-get upgrade there are never updates available. I have experienced this for some of the latest releases and now I'm starting to thing that something is wrong with my system. Especially because I have a raspberry pi and that (yes, I know is raspbian) is getting updates to packages from time to time. I haven't modified or customized anything in the sources list. And the thing is that I'm getting updates for firmware/kernel when they are available. Any ideas? Is it something normal for armbian (/debian)?

Hi, I was on the legacy kernel until recently with my bananaPi M1. I switched to the vanilla kernel but since then, when I try to use the GPIO python library (for bananapi from LeMaker github), it works quite well except for functions gpio.add_event_detect() or GPIO.wait_for_edge(channel, GPIO.RISING) This usually disconnect my network and the event is never detected. I have to reboot the PI to restore the state. Also, a normal read/write state GPIO.input(PIN_NUM) works perfectly... I assume it is due to the vanilla kernel but could not find any documentation on why this is happening... Any answer/comments would be much appreciated! Let me know if yo…

Hi Everyone I have a small problem, I recently purchased a OrangePi Zero and wanted to run Armbian on it, I downloaded the last stable release 3.4 (Debian Jesse) and prepped my Adata 32gb with Etcher same way I did my Opi Lite, and placed it in the Opi, and nothing happened , it doesnt boot up at all if I apply power (I can see both ethernet leds but not the power LED) I disconnected it and connect my Uart cable to the Zero and confirmed there is no output when you power it on, I then tried the Xenial build and still nothing, I downloaded the latest nightly 4.9 and Boom ,works like a dream I get output via Uart and can use the terminal to configure it. Seems when I upgrade my pcDuino3 Nano (pcDuino3b to be specific) from the Mainline server 4.7.3 using apt-get to the newest of everything, wifi is no longer seen. I have tried following the kernel upgrade guide as listed here: https://www.armbian.com/pcduino3nano/, but that doesn't seem to solve it. The device isn't even seen anymore. I did at one point get an error in dimes about ‘/lib/firmware/rtlwifi/rtl8188eufw.bin' being missing, which was odd because i don't think thats wifi, but replacing that with one i found on the rpi boards didnt help either. Ive been working on this issue for hours. Everything seems to work great as long as i don't upgrade, but I don't reall…

Hi, I receive 16 bytes every 0.5 seconds. This should be saved as text or as MySQL table data. Need to compare with all existing records , process and display it on 3.5 inch TFT LCD on SPI ( Notro fbtft ) and also save to SD Card . It should be broadcasted to a fixed Ip using TCPIP. Can I use Orange Pi Zero with 512MB Ram ? Can I partition Ram as RAMFS OR TMPFS to do all read only tasks thus save time for slow SD CARD writes ? Can I first copy boot files and my app, tables to Ram and start from Ram ? Any suggestions ? Thanks

Dear friends, I have a problem with the ethernet connection of my orange pi plus 2e. The connection was working normally and stopped, I can only access through the wi-fi. I already researched it and found no solution. Open the connections and pressing ifupdown (eth0) the following error appeared: (1) Creating object for path 'org / freedesktop / NetworkManager / ActiveConnection / 14' failed in libnm-glib. Is there a connection to this error with a lack of ethernet connection?

Hi Just got my first Orange Pi Zero today. Everything looking good, with the exception, if I run iperf tests between this and a linux host, the Orange Pi Zero will reboot without any error messages. I changed my power supply to a wall plug which can support 2.4amp easily, also tried to tune down the frequency to 900Mhz max, 4 cores, turned off HDMI/GPU, USB. DRAM is at minimum, 408 I think. Temperature remains at 55 to 58C Still once a while during heavy network, the board will reboot. The image i used is the legacy image posted on orange pi zero, Armbian_5.24_Orangepizero_Debian_jessie_3.4.113 Thanks Jerry

Hello, Im using a Orange Pi Zero, running nginx with Nextcloud. Im noticing 99.99% usage on the IO reported by iotop, but disk read and disk write show 0%. Even a refresh on the homepage bumps it up to the top of the IO list. As far as I am informed... isn't kswapd0 supposed to deal with swap memory and go wild when I am about to run out of RAM? I have disabled (hopefully), my swap partition, but I am still getting this. I have commented out the swap line in fstab... htop reports 0KB SWAP. It doesn't seem that I am running out of memory. About 50% of it appears to be free all the time. I am really new to dev boards and such, but this didn't appea…

Hi, I am totally new to Linux, but already managed to run OMV on my Banana Pi M1+ with Plex and other services I wanted on Armbian. Now I tried to run Kodi, so it could serve me both as NAS and HTPC. Firstly, I have installed xorg, then lightdm and set it up for autologin, which is working correctly. Then, I have installed Kodi 16 from git, but only gray box appears and then vanishes and screen stays black. My first impression was it is lacking GL drivers, so I have followed this tutorial: https://forum.armbian.com/index. ... pi-orangepi-pc-etc/, tested and everything seemed to be ok. I installed Emilia Pinball to check additionally - it renders correctly. Still, when …

I'm running Armbian_5.20_Micro_Debian_jessie_3.4.112 on an Olimex A20 micro board. I find that opening serial port device `/dev/ttyS2` causes the system to crash. Hi, with the Cubieboard 1 there's a bug with the kernel inotify's option. The problem is that Minidlna uses this feature in order to update its dabatase, but since on Cubie it doesn't work, I've tried both ArchLinux Arm and Armbian, i can't have an updated db. Do you know if there's any solution in order to fix this issue? Maybe trying another kernel, different from the default linux-sunxi? Thanks for your time! Marco

Hey guys, I was wondering why the Browsers doesnt support H/W Acceleration, now i found out its because the Mali Driver is outdated. I installed also Chromium and forced it to use the GPU, well at least it trys but i got a bunch of errors. Is there a way to add a new Driver? Tried also to compile it myself but i was never that deep into linux and never had to compile drivers, here are the sources: http://malideveloper.arm.com/resources/drivers/open-source-mali-utgard-gpu-linux-kernel-drivers/ I think the current Kernel uses a horrible outdated r3p0 Version and a new one is r7p0, at least r4p0 is needed which should work with Chromium and finally add H/W Accelerat…

Hi all and many thanks to armbian team - it is a great distro. I installed armbian to my orange pi pc (just pc, not pc+) and it works. TV out works too. But no one of my usb wi-fi adapters are supported by default kernel 3.4. This is why I go to "kernel" tab at page https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc/and follow instructions to switch to development kernel. Also I follow instruction at "Nighty releases" tab in order to get the newest versions of software. After installing new kernel I edit symlik /boot/script.bin to point to "bin/orangepipc.bin" instead of default "bin/orangepipcplus.bin" and reboot. Orange pi boots successfully and I can log in via ssh, but tv sign…

Hi! I have a Hackberry and i've tried to install Debian jessie for Cubieboard. Hi all I have a project where I'll be deploying the same configuration (including IP addresses) to a multiple Orange Pi Zeros. There will be some slight differences (hostname, information in one script) but largely identical. I was thinking about using a Linux VM to run a script that changes a base image (from a pre-set up machine) makes the changes and burns an image onto microsd. Is this a viable approach? Will I need to change anything else (MAC address related stuff?) Cheers!
