  1. Hi Forum, My CT with "Armbian_5.14_Cubietruck_Debian_jessie_4.6.2" image fails to complete apt-get upgrade and dist-upgrade. I haven't installed or removed any package, simply used the original image as it is. It starts the process, gets the packages, unpacks, starts setting them up and hangs at compiling the new headers. I left it working a full night but found with doing nothing. No cpu or disk activity was seen. Has anyone seen this before? Any idea? Thanks, T

Hi Forum, Please let me take a "low level" question about what I experienced on my CT. It should be my misunderstanding but it would be good if someone could help to clarify. On my CT udev mounts a USB device then starts a bash script in the background. This script lunches some bash threads and waits for them to complete. The threads has no common job on any file or resource. In the third level of nesting cp -r chrashes without any error message. It leaves the logging sentence in the middle, so it's really chrashes. rsync does the same but for different files. The scripts are fully functional if I start them from a root console. Even if started in the background.…

  3. Hi, currently my small server is running under Armbian 5.16 on Orange Pi Plus 2 board. It is using eMMC as root fs. I am expecting to get Orange Pi Plus 2E to be delivered shortly. The question is if following procedure will be OK to migrate server between boards: before: stop services etc. 1. insert SD card (16GB) when system is running. eMMC is visible as /dev/mmcblk0, SD card will appear as /dev/mmcblk1. 2. use nand-sata-install to copy system to SD Card. 3. mount /dev/mmcblk1 under some mount point, for example /mnt 4. verify, if /mnt/etc/fstab is valid: /dev/mmcblk0p1 / ext4 defaults,noatime,nodiratime,commit=600,errors=remount-ro 0 1 5. modify lin…

  5. hi, having power problems with the two usb ports of my pcduino3 nano, i checked the schematics and it appears the otg port is not powered by the USB_5V rail but directly from the VCC_5V input rail, so i was hoping it would solve my problem. Unfortunately it seems the port acts as an OTG port by default and i can't find a way to restore the otg host mode as advertised in the vanilla kernel features. The documentation only details how to use various OTG modes but not how to revert it back to host. I'm using xenial vanilla image. thank you.

Is there anyone who familiar with H3's secure boot? I've got an ott box recently, with 1GB RAM, 8GB eMMC, H3 soc, wifi module is RTL8189FTV. FEL can download the spl and execute it. The SPL init the DDR. Then download and execute u-boot. u-boot can run, but cannot reach cmdline. the datasheet shows that H3 support secure boot feature, but I can't find any documentation about this. 11. Hello ! I recently reimaged my BPi M1 with the vanilla headless Debian Jessie from Armbian. But I have two problems: Main problem (the worst): I have a RAID SATA to USB enclosure (this one: BS-EHD-35/DUALB). After some times and randomly, the drives stops spinning and the enclosure stops itself. I've disabled any power management on hard drive, setup a cron job to write a file every 5 min, disabled autosuspend in usb core... I didn't have this problem with the legacy kernel. I cannot downgrade to it, because I'm using BTRFS with some non-compatible extensions. Note: this is a server with apache, Deluge, Plex and Sonarr. Side problems (I can live with if the first is O…

Anyhow, temperature is an issue that everyone says about, but I do not believe it is. To determine when Orange Pi Lite Wifi becomes unreachable I wrote a Python script (nothing special, similar to many on the Internet) that posts the ARM7 temperature of Orange Pi Lite to ThingSpeak platform (owned by Matlab). If, and when my Orange Pi Lite Wifi, becomes unreachable I will know as it will stop sending posts to ThingSpeak. However, when I transfer data from other computers via the CubieTruck, bandwidth is very bad. rsyslogd causes a very high load on the CubieTruck and transfer rates are only up to several hundred KB/s. However, when I test downloading files from the CubieTruck itself, load doesn't increase and I can use my full line speed of 4 MB/s. 49. Hello everybody. I'm trying to have the OLIMEX board and LCD above working, using legacy Jessie desktop. With the default configuration only portion of the screen works properly. So I have tried to: 1) sunxi-fexc from bin to fex the file /boot/script.bin 2) edit the extracted script.fex file like this: from [lcd0_para] lcd_used = 1 lcd_x = 600 lcd_y = 480 to [lcd0_para] lcd_used = 1 lcd_x = 1024 lcd_y = 600 which I understand is the resolution of my LCD screen. 3) sunxi-fexc back from fex to /boot/script.bin The result is that when I reboot I get a messed up screen. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

  52. So ARMbian is my preferred OS for the pcduino3 because it outperforms all of the other options. However, I'm having trouble altering the screen resolution. I'm trying to get it set to 1024x768@60p and it's not playing ball. I've edited script.bin and boot.cmd to change the display mode to output mode/type 4 (desired res and VGA mode respectively) but it just goes to a blank screen and refuses to boot when I reboot it. What exactly do I need to do to get this resolution working? If 1024x768@60 isn't an option, I can work with 1280x1024@60 as well, but I'm still clueless as to the necessary steps to take to change it. -edit- Sorry I should add I'm using the jess…

  57. Wondering if there's anything similar to retroarch or mednafen that'll work for armbian on a pcduino3? I can't get the former to compile/install and the latter gives me guff about not being able to find a GLX visual when it tries to load video. It's worth noting that I'm pretty green when it comes to Linux, especially when it comes to "exotic"/SoC builds. I have nothing against learning, but I've found the signal-to-noise ratio for this product in particular is very poor and a lot of the info is woefully obsolete.

Is there a user action that must be taken? According to http://linux-sunxi.org/LeMaker_Banana_Pi the GMAC wasn't supported in the community kernel but should be in later kernels. Is this still an issue? How does one set GMAC_TX_DELAY to 3? Is that a config file thing or a patch that needs to be applied? Are other Banana Pi owners just living with 100 megabit speeds? I want hardware acceleration and most options of drivers and compatibility possible, so, I go for legacy option. But I realize that the two images have not a desktop environment, this is true? If yes, where can I download the full newer armbian version with legacy kernel and desktop ready? I try install xcfe over legacy image, but I have found for errors like "screen not found" and others... Regards.

  79. This may be one of those questions that should be considered dumb, but I'll risk your flames and ask regardless. Is the Orange Pi ONE GPIO Pin layout the same as the Raspberry Pi? I haven't found much specific to GPIO on the Orange Pi One, but I did see someone who said they were flipped 180 from the RPI. Before I attach a project and risk frying project and./or board, could you point me to a reference that specifies the layout of the GPIO pins on the Orange Pi ONE? And, like I said, I'm really sorry if this is the dumbest thing you've had to read all day. I have searched, but could not find much specific to the ONE.

The problem I have is I get prompted to upgrade it on boot using apt-get upgrade. This also upgrades the kernel version from 4.6.2 to 4.6.3. Because I have moved the system from the SD card to the SATA drive the new kernel doesn't load, only the old kernel with missing modules which causes problems. 95. Any chance of getting a legacy image for the A10-lime so that the 4 GB NAND will show up and the /root/nand-sata-install script will work? In the meantime, I'll try the image for Lime2, but I'm pretty sure that one is based on the A20 chip. Thanks,

  96. Hello, with the update to the new kernel (4.6.3-sunxi) I get some problems on my banana pro. First, while the system starts I get sometimes a kernel panic. In the most cases the kernel will boot on the second or third try. But the second one will be contantly and can't be avoided by a system reboot. The network interfaces don't be worked. The will be initialized during the system start process, get there IPv4 addresses from the router per DHCP and ifconfig shown them with the state "up". Everything looks ok. But if I try to connect another system, the connection will be failed. Any ping, as exsample to the router (default gateway), fails. The ping t…

Hello! Is there any hope to acquire a r3p2 or a newer Mali driver support in an armbian kernel for Banana Pi?

Hello, I tried several times to install debian in eMMC on Lime2, using nand-sata-install, without success, getting with the message : "There are no targets. Please check your drives." Note that on the same board, the official debian image provided by Olimex is working and can be installed in eMMC Checking with "dmesg | grep mmc", I don't find mmcblk1 (only mmcblk0). I tried with 3.4.112 image from armbian (also with 4.5.2). I installed a lot of images on Lime2 in NAND, so I'm not so unexperienced, but I don't understand where I'm wrong (or what I don't know) Thanks for any help ! Regards,

  100. updated to 5.15 (then 5.16) release using aptitude. Kernel update worked. But when I updated u-boot ( linux-u-boot-orangepiplus2e-default ) , the system will no longer boot (see attached). But if I use linux-u-boot-orangepiplus-default , it will boot. (Note that the install script, to write/dd SPL , is hardcoded to mmcblk0, which is usually correct, but for this fix, I start boot on SDHC then pivot-root to eMMC. My running root is mmcblk1 during this "rescue" boot). Both 5.15 & 5.16 exhibit this behavior. Thanks, wha bad-uboot.txt
