  1. Hello, this is not a big problem, but for me makes a board useless I use orange pi to control ralays thru GPIOs it works flawless on Orange PI PC, PC+, One so I decided to buy Orange PI Lite and I discovered that all gpio are set to high for half a second and then back to low, while unit power up or restarts. Just like an internet router It do that even without a SD card, that points this is coded into U-Boot. Any idea how to fix that?

  4. Hi, When Armbian starts loading kernel (just after showing loading kernel), the screen just gets scattered and Cubieboard2 shuts down. The Mainline on the other hand boots without a problem. Can I do something to get more info about what causes the problem, as I would like to be able to run the Legacy 3.4.113 version. The scatter is similar to this image: Thanks!

Following the instructions from the download page for the Lime2-eMMC we tried to apply the commands listed, but it looks that something is garbled here source is not a command AFAIK and if I use it as an apt-get option the system complaints about missing entries in sources. What is the correct way?

  7. I am planning a project for a few Orange Pi Lites as multimedia devices. I have been testing applications on the Lite with it unenclosed, and without a heatsink and haven't seen any issues with heat so far (running at 1.2 GHz). Is there a general consensus on if this board should have a heatsink when clocked at 1.2 GHz (and is enclosed)? The intended case design has vents.

Hello! I wrote the legacy image to a sd card and put it into the card slot. I can see something like diagnostic message and then "starting kernel". After that there is no video output. Neither over VGA nor over HDMI. Is that wanted? I tried 3 different monitors, but no chance. I can connect via ssh after a few minutes, but using a monitor and a screen would help, when there is no network. What am I doing wrong? Greetings, Pille

  10. Hi, I have problems with the versions "Armbian 5.25 Orangepizero Debian jessie default" and 5.26. When i install Nginx, the directory "nginx" is created in /var/log/. After a "reboot" the directory is then "disappeared", not possible to start Nginx. I can create the folder with error.log and access.log and restart Nginx. After this, it runs. After a reboot again, nginx is missig again... Any hints? The same happens with 5.25 and 5.26 on OrangePiOne, so far tested... I thing i'm not the only one with this problem. (I testet with "root" permissions only)

Why not to add lirc_gpio support to NanoPiNeo Air ? Even if it is not planned, I try to use this patch : https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/blob/master/patch/kernel/sun7i-default/0050-lircgpio_and_raw.patch Kernel compilation is ok for me : apt-get -y install git git clone https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib --depth 1 cp lib/compile.sh . ./compile.sh I try to apply this patch now : ~/crosscompile/lib/patch/kernel/sun7i-default/0050-lircgpio_and_raw.patch I expected to have a lircgpio.ko somewhere, but nothing. There are no modifications to PAM nor systemd-logind configurations and the configuration is exactly the same as on other devices. Is there some kind of serial number or other unique number of any kind in an H3 SOC or in something on an OPI Lite board that could be used to derive a MAC ? After solving power supply issues, I tested GUI and media performance on the board, with an aim to perhaps use the composite out for emulation, before concluding that this wasn't the best choice for the board. (That, and it'd kill my performance for the more useful server aspects.) While technically impressive, it wasn't really worth it when my PC is right there for me to use to play those video files I would on the board. Dear all, Recently I purchased Orange Pi Lite. I installed recommended Armbian with Legacy 3.4.113 kernel as there is no mainline image yet. When pushing the power button a logo appears, the screen goes black and after 10 seconds command prompt with login appears with no dmesg output on screen while loading kernel image and services that all is already loaded but no output shown. So far, I am happy with it, BUT when I run Vim command to open certain file, I see it opens the file and screen dimms in few seconds to complete darkness, the only way how to get out of this black screen is to switch to another console, when I switch back, it again appears a…

  48. I recently updated the OS (apt-get dist-upgrade), for one of my test systems, and subsequent to this Kismet has stopped working with the wlan0 interface. Everything was working properly before this update. I see it (and wlan0mon) showing Promiscuous mode in the output of iwconfig. I'm not really a Linux person, so any pointers on how I can diagnose/repair?

  50. I am running the desktop Ubuntu Xenial legacy image from https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-plus/. My goal is to setup the system for gaming, so I am looking to get the accelerated GPU performance. A couple questions: 1. Does this image run with an accelerated driver enabled by default? When loading applications that use GL, I see a log about not being able to load the mali driver. 2. If not, where can I get the driver and how can it be enabled? I know that distributions like RetrOrangePi include this by default, but I want to understand what they are loading so I can setup the system on my own. Thank you!

The linux version runs from an independent one here. The problem is that it does not let me install the dependencies, I leave them an image. It gets 5V and 12V power and runs quite perfect, as long as it has something to do. It spins up and down as I configured it. But when I leave the pi for a longer time period unattended (no workload), and the harddrive stays in spindown-mode too long, it wont identify the HDD anymore. I'm running Ubuntu Xenial on them: https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-neo/ I'm attempting to access the gpio, when I attempt to echo to /sys/class/gpio/export I get permission denied (sudo or not, even if logged in as root). I've also found this library for python to handle gpio on the nanopi: https://github.com/jrspruitt/FriendlyARM_Python_GPIO But when I use it, it says: as root root@nanopineo:/home/admin# python test.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "test.py", line 7, in <module> gpio.gpio_init(16, 1) File "build/bdist.linux-armv7l/egg/fgpio/fgpio.py", line 85, in gpio_init File "build/…

Hi there, I am new to OrangePi and Linux as well and that's probably why I have faced my first problem I could not find an answer on web. I use OP Lite with the latest debian jessie. And there is the problem (or just a bug): after some time of using WiFi (and wwan) I wanted to disable it in order to reduce "excessive" power consumption. So firstly I had disabled it via "nmcli" and after a while I found out about "h3consumption" command. But recently I wanted to install (and download) but none of the above commands were able to re-enable them. Any ideas how to re-enable (besides loading new OS image) ? In addition, I noted that changind "h3consumption" is not a…

  99. Hi there, Recently you helped me to setup a WiFI AP on Armbian and a bananapim2p board: https://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/2395-access-point-mode-with-ap6212-on-armbian-521/ The current problem I am facing: the dhd module on armbian 5.25 does not on my bananapim2p boards. To be precise: I have one bananapi m2p where the dhd module loads perfectly on armbian 5.25, I created an image of this board's emmc and flashed the emmc of two different m2p boards. The dhd config file looks like: cat /etc/modprobe.d$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/dhd.conf options dhd op_mode=2 firmware_path=/lib/firmware/ap6212/fw_bcm43438a0_apsta.bin With the modprobe configuration the m2p board…
