I have an OPi PC+ running Armbian. Bought an RTC called "DS3231 for Pi" and connected the 3.3V, ground, SDA and SCL pins to the GPIO connector. Ran "sudo i2cdetect -y 0" and it prints a table with "UU" in position 0x68. Ran "hwclock -w -f /dev/rtc1" and the response was "bash: hwclock: command not found" I looked in a subdirectory of /etc/ and found fake_hwclock and hwclock.sh Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Perhaps I should have modified something else before running hwclock? Thanks...

Hi! I've coded a script that allows me to create a bootable disk of my favorite systems for different boards. it does a dd of the mbr (446 kb), then with fdisk and mkfs create the partitions, and at the end copy all the data for the root partition and others. This works for raspberry pi2 pi3, but for the orange pi it works only if the sd card is the same of the one used to backup the system, so i've investigated if the fstab or boot.cmd has some uuid of the disk but everywhere i found the device name instead of the uuid identifier. I don't understand why the orange pi lite don't boot with a different sd card if it have the same mbr and the same partitions. app…

I'm trying to use 1080p60 with a DVI-HDMI cable on an Orange Pi One so I run h3disp -m 1080p60 -d and restart. Monitor shows randomly moving white lines on both sides of the display (probably the console text all garbled) for a few seconds then goes to sleep. Tried with a TV (using an HDMI-HDMI cable) and it cycles between Unsupported Mode and No Signal. 1080p without the DVI flag works on the TV but the monitor doesn't even come out of sleep with it. Other resolutions seem to work fine with the DVI flag on the monitor, including 720p and 1080i. The monitor also works fine with a 1080p output from a PC. Hi all, I have no luck to get wifi work on NanoPi M1 with the usb dongle RLT8188CUS. I have followed the tutorial "OPI ONE wireless success" to config. But, I don't see any "wlan0" or wifi device at all with the usb dongle plugged in. "nmtui" does not detect any wifi device as well. It appears to me that, although armbian recognizes the usb dongle, armbian does not treat it as a wlan0 device. I very appreciate if anyone can give me some suggestions to diagnose and fix I am using armbian-jessie-server, kernel 3.4.113, jessie 5.23. Below is the info of my board. === uname -a === Linux nanopim1 3.4.113-sun8i #4 SMP PREEMPT Sun Nov 20 09:58:26 CST 201…

I'm running an OrangePI PC with legacy Jessie server and armbian 5.23 and kernel 3.4.112. I never seen the ouput through the HDMI monitor. It's always without signal, even at boot when uboot start. Is that normal ? I played with h3disp, but it never work. I would like to see just the boot and the text console. Any suggestion ? Thanks

Is anyone else having issues getting incoming ssh to work with their OPI zero? I've tried both: Armbian_5.24_Orangepizero_Debian_jessie_3.4.113.img and Armbian_5.24_Orangepizero_Ubuntu_xenial_3.4.113.img In both cases I was able to get a WiFi connection, and am able to get out to the internet to download new packages (apt-get). However, I can't seem to get incoming ssh or ping to work. It's as if the device is invisible.

I've posted this on the Orange Pi subreddit here: https://redd.it/5bqnghbut figured a more active community might be better. I am using my Orange Pi Ones for SETI@Home, I also use Raspberry Pis for the same purpose. I've noticed since, around, Armbian 5.20 that SETI@Home(BOINC) won't stay running for any more than 6-12 hours. It's being sniped by Out of Memory. I've tried a few things, posted on the subreddit, but here is the short list: Logged Memory ---> Can dip below 100MB during usage but not often Enabled Swap/Increase Swappiness---> 0 to 10 (I don't care about SD Card life) Adjusted BOINC/SETI to use 75% memory None of the above seems to have helped. The…

Hey guys, I have a Banana Pro and recently switched to Armbian from Bananian. I boot from an HDD connected to the SATA port on bpi. Apparently the root fs is supposed to get resized to the max size(1TB in my case) during the first boot. But, well, it didn't work for me.. so instaed of 1TB I had 1.5 GBs. I wiped the partition in fdisk and created a new one using the old starting block(2048) but leaving the end to default. Result: I now have all the space available to me but everytime I log in it still says "90% of 1.5G". Why doesn't it scale?I know this is kinda ridiculous but I'm a perfectionist haha. ____ ____ _ ____ …

I've been trying to get the TV out from my OPI-PC Plus for a while, but nothing is working The pre-installed Android OS on the emmc outputs to the TV just fine, so it's not a cable/tv problem I've tried both Armbian and some distros found on the OPI forums, but nothing worked. I messed with the script.bin, using http://linux-sunxi.org/Fex_Guide as a guide, but it didn't work I'm using a 64GB Samsung Class 10 card, but I've also tried other cards and it didn't work It works when using HDMI though Here's my script.bin (I'm pasting only the relevant part) I'm running the lastest version of armbian (5.20) What should I do now?

Dear All, I am just trying to figure how to enable the UART3 to be a 4 wire serial port for Lamobo R1 board. So we get the Banana Pi M2+ killer soon it seems, just stumbled accross the 'NanoPi M1 Plus' in FriendlyARM repo: https://github.com/friendlyarm/h3_lichee/blob/master/tools/pack/chips/sun8iw7p1/configs/nanopi-h3/boards/sys_config_nanopi_m1_plus.fex According to fex file we get: H3 with primitive voltage regulation (1.1V/1.3V) and therefore 1200 MHz max eMMC AP6212 Wi-Fi/BT 40 pin header identical to M1 2 leds as usual (red/blue) Gigabit Ethernet 24 pin camera connector compatible to M1/Air 1 x USB OTG, 3 x host 2 x host (maybe the 3rd host port somewhere on headers) I would assume same board layout as NanoPi M1 now but one USB type A receptacle less and there the e…

Hi Everyone. I have an Orange Pi One and I can use the micro USB (otg) port as a standard USB port - I can plug in a memory stick or USB speakers and it works fine. Is it possible to have the same functioniality with the OPI Zero? I tried and it does not work - I am powering the board through the GPIO header. Even if I plug in USB speakers that have an LED indication - no LED lights, so I guess no power. I looked at the fex file from the OPI One and could not see the difference there in the OPI Zero. I know it is in beta, so I do not expect it straight away, but it would be good to know if it is possible Thanks for any help. J

Is there a Xenial image for NanoPi M1, or a way to “easily†build one ?. I see here https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-neo/ that there is a Xenial image for NanoPi Neo. I am asking because I would like to run HQPlayer's Network Audio Adapter on my NanoPi M1. And this doesn't run on Debian Jessie legacy as it needs libstdc++6 (>=5.2), but it does run on a NanoPi Neo with Xenial. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Talking about this -> https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/commit/cdc02f678620d6dba6c9e4ebc60884fc54c6dfc6 Dont know if anyone else noticed it, but after applying this I got about 10% lower CPU temp. (from 75 ro 67) in OPi/H3 under the same heavy workload with same performance! If there has not been any other temperature modificatioin done then this thumb2 change is definitively towards the right direction. Kudos guys!

I have a problem similar to post http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/182-freezing-problems-with-bpi-r1/:my board is blocked for the second time. But my configuration is quite different from that post: Kernel: linux-image-next-sunxi 4.3 (version 4.2.0-sunxi) UBoot: linux-image-next-sunxi 4.3 (2015.07) RootFS: on sda1 powered by the board (WDC WD10JFCX-68N) UpTime: about 10 days before my last restart. When the board is blocked I can't interact with the debug console on the serial port. I cant't find anything interesting in /var/log, but I'm not really an expert.

Hi all, I was just wondering if you had experience with the performance on the H3 allwinner CPU performance based on the cpu temperature ? I'm trying to tweak my fan to only cool down the CPU once it gets close to peak cpu temperature levels, before performance starts to degrade. According to the Allwinner H3 datasheet the maximum ambient operating temperature is 70° (see page 612) http://dl.linux-sunxi.org/H3/Allwinner_H3_Datasheet_V1.0.pdf Do you think I can let the cpu go up to 70 before cooling it down or should I start sooner (i.e 65° / 67°) to keep my pi at top performance ?

Hello, I am new to orange PIs and got a "OPi PC plus" a few weeks ago. After some research I found out, that armbian ist the best OS for me In the past I tried with effort to set up a 3G / Lan / WIFI Router with USB / Samba share to have mobile network and files. It works like a charm, outer that I can not get more than 72.2 mbps to my wifi clients. Today I had many time to search and first result is, that the neighbor scan will reduce to 20MHz channels because of detected overlapping APs. With a patched version of hostapd you should be able to set 40MHz channels by overriding the scan. Infos here: https://www.brunsware.de/blog/gentoo/hostapd-40…

Hey there, after quite a while laying around in a box my Cubietruck finally came to life again. I downloaded the latest Xenial Vanilla Server from http://www.armbian.com/cubietruck/and set it all up. So far I'm quite happy having Wifi running. Though there are a few questions left. - I chose vanilla as i'm going to use the cubietruck headless and don't need video accel. It will be part of a 3d printer. Do I have any chance to get NAND support running? I guess not so I wonder if it's a good idea to keep running from a micro sd card or will I run into problems? I don't need really big I/O Action so performance wise I should be okay. - I see some brcmfmac error …

I have been running Armbian_5.14_Orangepipc_Ubuntu_xenial_3.4.112 that has been upgraded to the 4.7.3 kernel via apt. Yesterday I allowed it to update to 4.8.3 and it won't boot anymore. Any ideas? Hi all, I am new to this forum. I just got a Orange Pi plus 2E. The specs are nice and the price is competitive. However, I don't seem to find an image with gpu working well. No hardware acceleration available. This means I cannot use chrome properly / watch videos / play web games with WebGL. From armbian website / logs: Mali OpenGL ES does not work on H3 boards with 2GB RAM (Orange Pi Plus 2, Orange Pi Plus 2e) Any idea when will the Mali driver work on 2GB RAM models? The OPi is nowhere near usable right now. Thanks!

Hello Folks, sorry for popping up here with a technical problem first thing - but I have some trouble. I have a circuit where an attenuator is connected to PA19. Sadly, the port seems to have a pull up which stays active even when I use wiringPi to set the port to input - in fact, even if I short the pin to low via my Keithley ammeter, it still shows up as high. Re things which I already tried: I tried to reduce the fex file to look like this: [product] version = "100" machine = "orangepi-lite" [platform] debug_mode = 1 eraseflag = 1 next_work = 2 [target] boot_clock = 1008 storage_type = -1 [key_detect_en] keyen_flag = 0 [fel_key] fel_key_max = 7 fel_key_m…

Hello, With a bananapi pro, which legacy image is better to use ? ubuntu xenial or debian jessie ? I intend to use it mainly as a server and occasionally to watch movie on a hdmi screen. I do not want to install a full desktop, I prefer to log through ssh and launch an X server remotely. Also, I need an mpv (mplayer) with acceleration enabled. thanks for your help Regards

First time poster, hopefully I'll get along with all of you! I am currently trying to connect a DS18(b)20 cable to my Banana Pi M2+, which is running Jessie Desktop. I connected the 3,3 V to Pin 1, GND to Pin 6 and Data to Pin 7, as well as the recommended 4,7k Ohm resistor between them. Since, as I should have mentioned, I am an absolute beginner (literally just got into this a few days ago), I used a German tutorial for this, which told me to enter the following into my command module: After which my /sys/bus folder shows a "w1" folder, which it does. However, the cable itself cannot be found. After some tinkering, I found that w1-therm does not seem…

I am experiencing serious problems with booting Armbian on OrangePi Lite. I flashed SD card with a fresh image of Armbian_5.20_Orangepilite_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop.img At the first boot it always freezes right after this line: Started WPA supplicant. It stays there forever and I have no choice but power off the system. At each subsequent boot the system freezes very frequently but at different lines so again I need to reset it. However sometimes it succeeds at the second boot and I am able to login as root and then create new user and enter the desktop after that. I was very happy that it finally started and everything was working fine (inc…

Hi everyone, i've been building a new distirbution based on armbian 5.2 server, on it has been compilled freepbx 13 and asterisk 13, i've added a webmin frontend for server management. It's my first apportation, i'm not a pro, but i wanted to share it with the community. The password for root is: "Armbian" The password for the user admin on freepbx is: "admin" In order to mount the image you need at least a 8gb sd card Here is the link to the download: https://mega.nz/#!eZ1gCKKY!UguIUAi-xa6K6iXXj37EZPFedgzCPdnSEQDBuoT3xRo (remember this image is for orange pi plus)* Finally, if you want to resize the partition toget all the space available on your…

I have been trying to get USB OTG to work for the past few days, but have not succeeded. I have enabled all of the appropriate kernel settings according to this. I modprobed sunxi and g_ether, but my laptop did not detect the Orange Pi (no change in lsusb). My laptop runs Arch Linux, if that matters (the image was built on a Xenial VM though). There is no dmesg output about this, so I do not know what I did wrong. The reason I need the dev kernel is because I am using docker.

Hi, I have installed armbian 5.23 on an olimex A10 lime. After boot I find that the i2c devices on the UEXT interface do not show in /dev. They should be /dev/i2c-2 and /dev/i2c-3 and should be detectable using i2cdetect -y 2 (or 3). I notice that the package linux-jessie-root-lime-a10_5.23_armhf.deb ships the .bin (fex) files that configure the ports on boot. The file /boot/bin/lime-a10.bin and /boot/bin/lime-a10-lcd.bin have definitions for these ports but they are disabled. So for now I make a new .bin file with these ports enabled. Specifically I had to change the file like this (I made a new copy so that apt-get upgrade would not clobber my changes)…

Hello All, m new to this forum and new to armbian. Probably someone can help me. Im trying to get an 64GB flash drive working on a Opi+ 2E. Using the eMMC storage for boot and the flash drive as "the hard disk". nand-sata-install gives me the option to install this combo but at the end the system boots in an infinite loop telling me something is missing on the USB drive. Installing to boot / root eMMC works like a charm. I mounted the USB on another linux system and the drive looks good. ext4 and a root filesystem as expected. Am i missing something? Maybe this is a faq. Sorry to ask that, i know there are tons of powerconsumption-discuss an optimization, and tewaking but i got lost. I just need to know how much Ampere a Nanopi NEO drains on fullload (4Cores), connnected with ethernet, no additional USB Hardware in default (no special h3consumtion). Especially boooting (i think armbian is throtteling on boot right?) is also very interessting. I need to buy a Powersupply which is sufficient for 15 NanoPi Boards in min and max consumption. Got very confused in reading the threads... But it seems 5V/2A is just a "be save in every situation" thing, and i think there is a "window" of throtttled booting and full-load 4 Core... So would…

Hi, we bought several Lime2 and tested them. Unfortunatelly, the GBit-Lan did not seem to work reliyable. Later ping tests revealed a packet loss on many boards of 1% to 20%. (eg. "ping -s 9000 -i 0.0001 -c 5000 fritz.box"). Some boards dont have any problems, other more. On heavy access with SSD it's increasing a little. It's happens also without SSD. Other boards worked fine at the same power and network cable. Its possible thant this strange TX_DELAY isn't set correctly? Are there other problems known? I used the wheezy image with kernel 3.4.105-lime2 and 3.4.107 from you latest wheezy image. The image with Kernal 4.0.4 stopped after "restarting sshd",…

Hi, i have managed to install a wiring Pi version for my Orange Pi lite following this tutorial: https://gist.github.com/lanefu/f16a67195c9fa35c466c6b50cdaeadea The basic examples with inputs and outputs are working fine. Since I want to use a rotary encoder and not loose any steps I want to use a interrupt driven callback. There is an example as well but that does not work. I get: wiringPiISR: unable to open /sys/class/gpio/gpio25/value: No such file or directory I also tried several other libraries but non was working. Has anybody managed to get GPIO interrupt based callbacks working with python an an Oragnge Pi ?

Let me start to express my gratitude for the wealth of information and software which is available here. I'm a longtime user of a usb 2.0 soundcard along with a laptop with KXStudio and Guitarix. I've used this setup many times for gigging and home recording and it proved to be stable. One of the downsides is the "voluminous" laptop. I've my soundcard mounted in a small 19" flightcase with one rack still open. For some years I've been thinking of making rack mountable effectprocessor from a board to substitute the laptop. So, to start this journey I've ordered a OPi PC (along with a good quality micro SD card!), of course not a heavyweight board, but my first…

Hi, I seem to be unable to create a working image for my Orange Pi PC+ with a 4.x kernel (I want to use Docker). I had a working 4.7.3 install but a recent (this week) apt-get upgrade installed a 4.8.x kernel (and probably a u-boot) after which my Opi PC+ will not boot anymore (my home-router shows the opi for a short time but it disappears before I can do a ssh to the Opi PC+). None of the images I have or create with a 4.x kernel seem to want to work. Only the 3.4.112 images that I download will work. Since I fried my uart0 and I haven't been able to use uart1 I have not been able to debug this. So I was hoping someone has a working image with a 4.x kernel …

Hi, I seem to have "fried" the default Debug TTL UART (the 3 pins next to the hdmi connector). (connecting the ground of the usb-ttl to TX of the UART and leaving it there for a few minutes is not a good idea it seems :-)). The orangepipc+ still works when booting from emmc (armbian 5.17 debian jessie, kernel 4.7.3) but does not seem to want to boot from microsd (tried console only 5.17/4.7.3, 5.21/4.8.1). So I would like to debug that but whatever usb-ttl I connect I don't see anything (tried 3 different usb-ttl to make sure it was not the usb-ttl device)> My question: is it possible to see uboot messages (or at least the kernel boot) via a different port…

Hi, I just installed ARMBian on my Banana Pi M2+ (BPi-M2+) and think to do the same on my router Banana Pi R1 (BPi-R1). As the WiringPi is created for GPIOs from Raspberry Pi, I presume there are perhaps not the same on those Banana Pi boards. But I discovered there are many Wiring libraries for this GPIO use on the BPi. Does somebody give back its knowledge to know which Wiring library is the best for those two Banana Pi boards ? - WiringBP - WiringOP - MikuPi I want to use them for reading Temperature and Humidity (DHT22) and a sonar sensor (HC-SR04). And further with a NFC rader. Sincerely thanks for your help.

So you guys that have more experience, what should I be looking at, when I find some code that runs on a Raspberry Pi to verify that it will also run on the Orange Pi PC? If I find some interesting code on Github for example . Regarding GPIO I think there shouldn't be any problem, since we have WiringOPI and that py20a or how its called. But what about i2c lcd's, max7219 matrix displays, other stuff? How does it differ the compatibility of boards between python and C code?

Hi All, Armbian boots fine from SDcard but when I run nand-sata-install the script complains that it has no target. A #ls /dev/mmcblk* shows /dev/mmcblk0 and /dev/mmcblk0P1 When mounted, just to see, the mmcblk0P1 partition contains the usual linux directories, so I suppose this partition is definitely the SDcard No EMMC device is present. Could this be due to me performing, yesterday a: dd if=/mnt/ArchLinux_Minimal.img of=/dev/mmcblk1 bs=4M ? I did this because I read somewhere that booting up from SDCARD followed by a dd worked in some cases. Note I originally wanted to run Arch, but since there is apparently no support at orangepi.org, after…
