Welcome to Armbian Bionic with Linux 5.4.20-sunxi This is the thing I have installed... I'm trying to use the serial ports out of the GPIO header, nominally pins 8 and 10 which depending on what you read maybe ttyS1 or ttyS3. Out of the box whatever they are they're not available. After much googling, I've seen stuff about FEX and DTS none of which mean much to me, I'm guessing Bionic doesn't use FEX as there's no sign of .FEX or .BIN files in the /boot directory. The default state seems to pump garbage out the tx line whatever its doing. Minicom promises to talk to any ttyS? I give it, but theres no answer on loopback, And that's all I have. …

Hello all ! I connected relle to pins (Physical): Relle Orange in 35 gnd 6 ucc 2 But it is constantly active (on), although the port status 32 is off (0). Why is that? # gpio write 24 1 Changes the port status, but has no effect on the relay. Relle ist ON alweys! If you physically disable the pin (in - 35), then the relay is turned off. I just installed the system. I did not install any additional services and packages. Maybe I need to configure something in the system to activate the GPIO?

I need some help with this LCD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CMD7Y55M?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share, i bought it since i verified whith the always unreliable AI GPT if it would work with my Orange Pi since i want to use the screen in my klipper 3d printer. Now im stuck since the available driver from the manufacturer are only for the Arduino and RP2040. I verified evrywhere and could only find one github but that one did not work for me and there are no tutorials of how to work with this. Does some one have any idea of how to make this run or work?. Just in case my wiring is as follows:

Hi, Thanks for the excellent distribution I noticed that in the hardwareinfo script there is no bananapipro result and when I boot new vanilla 4.5 Kernel the banana.dtb file is used instead of the bananapro.dtb As a result, no wifi, see also last two replies here for similar issue with M1: http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/340-banana-pi-m1plus-no-wifi/?p=2138 Dirty Solution: hardcode loading bananapipro.dtb in boot.cmd. Wifi works This is result of "cat /proc/cpuinfo"

Good day all. Anyone having issues of not able to see anything after "Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel." via serial console on Lamobo R1 ? Tried to experiment a bit, it seems that U-Boot works correctly, but in Linux kernel, sent data from USB-serial to ttyS0 arriving correctly, but anything written to ttyS0 is not visible on connected USB-serial adapter.

Hi, I'm fairly new to linux and I've been trying to get my banana pi OTG port to act as a HID device when plugged in. I've been looking to do it using configfs and usb_gadget but I have no idea how to get this working. Do I need to compile the kernel with additional options to get this working? I've googled for days now and tried various different solutions but not got far with it. Any help is much appreciated.

For some reason still unknow to me, my OrangePi Lite Wifi became unreachable twice. I should have checked whether it was something more. Anyhow, temperature is an issue that everyone says about, but I do not believe it is. To determine when Orange Pi Lite Wifi becomes unreachable I wrote a Python script (nothing special, similar to many on the Internet) that posts the ARM7 temperature of Orange Pi Lite to ThingSpeak platform (owned by Matlab). If, and when my Orange Pi Lite Wifi, becomes unreachable I will know as it will stop sending posts to ThingSpeak. Besides the main interest, I do something useful as I monitor the temperature of ARM7. (the image though it shows…

I was sort of disappointed with my RPi 2 VPN performance, which is about 2.5MiB/s while normal traffic can easily exceeds 5.5MiB/s. So I setup same VPN config on OPi One and run the test. The speed is impressive which is well above 5 MiB/s but it could only last about 10s before the box reboots itself. I can see one cpu core is occupied 100% by softirqd ( about 80% on RPi 2). My kernel version is 3.4.112 and StrongSwan version is 5.3.3. Don't have further information yet. When I get a chance to hook up serial console, I may collect more info.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone came across the board layout files. If eagle cad files were available that would be great! I'm assuming that they dont exist.. Or has someone designed a hat or shield for the OPi0? I want to design one and was hoping someone else beat me to it. If not i'll just have to measure it out and make it. I dont want to reinvent the wheel so that would be cool Thanks

Hello, I have started on Armbian Ubuntu on a Orange Pi PC and have some difficults to follow the tiny font on the terminal emulator. In order to change the fontsize, I used the command "dpkg-reconfigure console-setup" and choosed the Terminus font with a bigger size. But no effect after reboot. With which trick a modification can be performed? What is with the fonts marked with "framebuffer"? If a modification is not possible with the Armbian terminal emulator, can I use an alternative? So I miss a property button as available on Raspian. Thanks for yor help and best regards Walter

What is the latest version of Armbian tested and proven working with a gc2035 camera module, please? I tried a few months ago and ran into so many issues, I gave up. Camera works in Android, didn't work in the Armbian I tried, and was eventually advised to try an earlier version that I couldn't easily find. I decided to defer the problem, but it is now more pressing. Thanks in advance for info and advice. Regards, Charlie

Hi All, I'm using the latest Debian mainline kernel image -> Armbian_5.31_Micro_Debian_jessie_next_4.11.5. I can't get the USB OTG port to work as host only. I was using the legacy kernel before and below setup was working for me -> [usbc0] usb_used = 1 usb_port_type = 1 usb_detect_type = 0 usb_drv_vbus_gpio = port:PB09<1><0><default><0> usb_restrict_gpio = usb_host_init_state = 1 usb_restric_flag = 0 I read on another post that usb0 mode is host on armbian images by default. I also read about needing to load the g_serial module for Banana pi, but I don't think it's required here. Do I need to make any changes to th…

I installed the experimental version of the NanoPi Neo Air distribution on my Air a month or two ago. At the time I believe Bluetooth was not working on that version. I don't see any indication that it is not working now, but it doesn't seem to be working on my install. Is Bluetooth working on the experimental kernel? If so, should I just re-install, or is it not hard to get it working on an existing install? I just installed the latest updates and rebooted, and that didn't fix it. The symptom that I'm seeing is that if I run bluetoothctl it prints a prompt, but seems to lock up.

Hi, I have a BananaPi and BananaPi Pro connected to the Lemaker 7" TouchLCD. When I boot the system, I can't see any console output. Hi, I have two OrangePi Lite running side by side. After working fine for about 8 months both started to experience same issue with wireless: The board works randomly for few hours or few days and then looses wireless connection. When this happens reboot does not help as then issue occurs immediately after the boot. Unplugging and replugging power source resolves that for a while and then happens again I suspect it may not be related to a hardware issue or wireless hotspot, as I have at least 3 other clients that continue to work fine. Searching for it on the internet brought this issue with Raspberry Pi: https://github.com/raspbe…

Hi, i have an orangepi zero 2w and tried noble gnome image with the "current" kernel (v6.6.x). I activated the gpu via armbian-config and reboot. Then it stucks somewhere in the booting process. It shows nothing on the screen. If i use the orange pi image instead, i can activate the gpu with orangepi-config, which is a similar tool like armbian-config. The gpu works fine then and has great performance. So it's theoretically possible. Can someone explain to me what the problem is here. If it was a simple port, it would surely have already been done. I tried also the dtb from the orange pi image, but then it also didnt boot up. Th…

Dear Community, I currently want to reduce the transmission power of the NanoPi Neo Air. This means that I simply want to be able to set the Wifi transmission power in 10% steps, for example. What I have already tried: Instructions according to Wiki: OpenWrt image is not flashed. No access via browser. But it doesn't matter: max. transmission power is used in AP mode. Setting as in the Wiki image "TransmitPower:auto" probably does not apply here anyway. Network Manager TUI via "sudo nmtui" has no such settings. Adjust the NVRAM files in "/lib/firmware/brcm" or "/lib/firmware/ap6212" step by step. All changes are …

While doing some testing of multiple things I decided to build 2 images, fresh/new for my nanopineo's also trying to have the resulting image as close as possible to what I have running on the nanopineo's for years since 2022 or so. That was originally Armbian Buster and I have been tweaking the installations to match other computer installations. Main thing is split the root partitions into a rootfs (Btrfs) and a bootfs (Ext4). More recently, I did more changes, such that I can run the whole image as KVM and/or systemd-nspawn container. The 1st image was adding extension 'u-boot-menu'; build ended in success, but have not tested it on HW. I saw in extlinux.c…

Hi. Can anybody give me any idea on how to find out why it is crashing? I recently moved to this distro, and it is now crashing after 1 to 4 days of continuous usage. The thing is, I have no idea how to find out why it is happening, and how to fix it. Which log should I go for? I was running this Aruntu before, and never had this issue, which seems to show that this is not an hardware issue. Best, João

I got my lite days ago, and have tried lots of images, none of them can recognize the build-in wifi Instead, a eth0 device is presented. is it the actual wlan? Armbian gives me the best compatibility so far (in terms of usb support) I can read the chip module is printed realtek 8189FTV, but lsmod shows me a 8189es module loaded. By google around, no luck for the FTV version driver. I also played with the script.bin, but still no luck. Anyone can give me some hints. Thanks.

Hi, I yesterday built a new image for my A20-OLinuXino-MICRO board (Armbian 5.17 Jessie with kernel 4.7.3) At first boot, everything worked fine. I could manage to connect through SSH and changed root password and add new user. However, avec adding a Hard Disk (on the SATA connector) and reboot, I could not manage to connect via SSH So I tried the serial (UART) connector. After some tries and a non responding console (I could see no kernel messages at boot to I had to change the verbosity), I finally succeeded in booting with a console prompt on serial connector. But... The keyboard is not responding on that serial connector. After a few tries,…

Hi, I'm trying to send IR command from a IR led from an Orange Pi, i have it working fine on an Arduino, but it seems that on linux it's a bit more complicated as there are no lib that can control a GPIO with an IR transmitter, it seems that everybody is using LIRC. I see for raspberry pi this needs to be done : EDIT /etc/modules WITH : lirc_dev lirc_rpi gpio_in_pin=23 gpio_out_pin=22 the Orange PI devier module is different, so i do not know how to control it to let it know where the transmitter is. Anybody managed to get this to work ? Thx

Hi! I have ARMBIAN 5.31 on my Banana Pi m1 and need some help. Early I used wheezy and mount webdav disk with davfs2 in fstab, but after I installed jessie fstab dont mount any davfs2 disk. Besides I have another problem: I use davfs2 to backup some video and photos to cloud storage throw webdav, and I have mistakes on large files (files much bigger then free space in /var/cache). Davfs2 send files in cache folder first (/var/cache/davfs2 by default) and then to webdav disk, so I have to use another disk with enough free space (sda1 in my case). When I was on wheezy I just point cache dir to sda in dafs2.config (cache_dir option) and all be OK, but i…

Edit: Please see my second post in this thread. I think I've identified exactly what my problem is, please see my second post in the thread. I need to change the display mode to something that my own TV is able to display. But no matter what I've tried, I haven't been able to change the display mode. How do you do it? ---- Hello, I just got an Orange Pi PC. I installed using the Armbian_5.32.170629_Orangepipc_Ubuntu_xenial_dev_4.11.7.7z image. I'm wanting to connect a Raspberry Pi Zero to my NanoPi Duo via USB Ethernet OTG. Has anyone gotten this to work? I've been following instructions posted at different sites (here's one - https://dev.webonomic.nl/connecting-to-a-raspberry-pi-zero-with-just-an-usb-cable-i) and I can get it to work via my desktop (with Debian) and a Raspberry Pi Zero and between RPI3 and RPI0, but can't seem to get it to work between NanoPi Duo and RPI0. Of course, I don't have a desktop on the NanoPi Duo, so everything has to be done via command line.

I am having some difficulty producing audio on an orangepi zero using the images listed here: https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-zero/ No matter what I do, I cannot get any audio devices to show up in /proc/asound/cards There are a number of posts on here that suggest that audio doesn't work on version 4.x kernels. Is this still the case? And if so, where can I download an armbian image that does support audio?

It seems I have to install either of them for my chromecast to play nice. I have no prior experience with neither of them nor do I know which one is better. There are various threads on the internet but would be interested which one the community uses / trusts, cause I am a bit hesitant on adding random repos. My use case: Stream mkv on local with subs or transcode if it can't show subs. Board: Orange Pi Pc OS: Debian Stretch on 4.14.18 Would appreciate any feedback even if it's only a link to your preferred software / guide.

Dear Armbian friends, I have question about add DS18B20 temp sensor at RPi-Monitor (web based interface). Can somebody paste working config of this sensor? On internet I found many tutorials but with DHT sensors. On this page (Xavier is an author of RPi-Monitor I think) is described DS18B20 but in status "Working in progress". I tried this but without luck. https://xavierberger.github.io/RPi-Monitor-docs/32_sensors.html?highlight=ds18b20 Cheers, Lucas

As we know, the PCIe on H6 is buggy, which doesn't offer linear address, and Linux cannot support such kind of configuration. However, the Cortex-A53 cores used by H6 supports virtualization, which can be used to change the order of the address space. Recently, I tried to make use of virtualization to provide linear mapping of PCIe, and I succeed in making an Intel 6205 wireless card working. The hypervisor code is at https://github.com/Icenowy/aw-el2-barebone . It's intended to start before U-Boot, and located at 0x40010000. A U-Boot fork that is patched to load the hypervisor is at https://github.com/Icenowy/u-boot/tree/h6…

Hello, I'm using a Banana Pi P2-Zero based on H3 and I want to get Ethernet running. To no avail so far... When building the image, I use this parameters: BOARD=bananapim2zero BRANCH=current RELEASE=jammy BUILD_MINIMAL=no BUILD_DESKTOP=no I use the customize-image.sh script, but I don't change anything related to the drivers (or so I think). Works stably on Orange Pi Lite , including a connected Bluetooth dongle via USB and sensors to it. 1. Hello, I know one should't ask or complain here regarding the dev kernel branch, but maybe somebody of you stumbled upon this and knows where to point me: I successfully build and used the "dev" kernel several times for the BananaPi (Allwinner A20 Soc) and it works just fine. The patch regarding the axp209 sysfs interface can simply be taken over from the from the "next" kernel branch and you get a working temperture reading from the axp209 pmu. I still haven't managed to get the internal soc's temperature sensor working in dev kernel, though. I know it has something to do with the touchscreen driver but couldn't find out what exactly is required to make it…

Hello, does this USB WiFi card work with armbian on Orange Pi 3 LTS? TP-Link Nano AC600 USB Wifi Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PB1X4CN/ Does it need any drivers to be installed? As a bonus, I added an indication of reading from a flash card as a red LED (this can be turned off). 3. I also activated the host on the micro-usb connector - now you can connect something else via the otg adapter as a third USB connector. To apply t…

When testing my most recent builds using the Armbian build framework I found that I was experiencing a constant load greater than 1.00. At first, I thought this is probably normal to have a load during the system boot but after waiting over 10 minutes I found that the load did not decrease. Firstly, I used HTOP but could not find a process that was heavy utilising the CPU with the relative CPU usage show as low. Next I tried using TOP which revealed a process called kworker: freezeable_power. Trying to search for the issue I did not find much until I came across this old forum post that described the same issues I was having: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/75…

Hello. I'm having trouble with infrared receiver. Whether the sunxi_cir driver installed in kernel or not, there is nothing in /dev/input except "event0", which is the power controller. Dmesg doesn't show anything neither. Version: Armbian 4.5 Lamobo-r1 Debian jessie next (unofficial), kernel 4.2.3. IR support was declared on download web page, so I decided to get vanilla kernel. That's because I had already tried Bananian with 3.18 kernel, and there were huge problems with kernel ppp (up to freezes of whole device). Has anybody encountered this problem?

Hi, I bought about a year ago an orange pi plus. Just a few weeks ago, i tryed the new distro's I love to have debian on the board. And like your distro verry much. I have 2 problems: 1) If i download the file for orangepiplus, the board does nothing. No leds go on, no grafics on screen, nothing I also tryed at home compiling it myself. The result is the same nothing. My Orange Pi Plus has an H3 processor - it is one of the first OrangePi Plus boards. Greeting, I installed the OrangePI plus image (desktop) on my Orange PI plus2. It seems to work fine but I can't get any video output. I tested with several h3disp settings, with a HDMI to VGA adapter then with an HDMI to DVI adapter, and finally on the A/V port. I have no hdmi screen to test direct connection without adapters. Ideally I would like to use the HDMI to VGA adapter. any ideas ?

Hi Friends, on Banian I was using "xset dmps force off" and "xset dpms force on" to switch display off and on as I need it. Tryed to use this commands in terminal with armbian but nothing happens. I'm using LeMakers 5" LCD RGB Display with PCAP Touch. Armbian is 5.24 jessi with desktop and 4.8.12 Kernel. Has anyone an Idea, how to turn off and on display form terminal? Yours, Martin

Hello Guys, I want to use airodump-ng (Aircrack-ng Suite) or Kismet to get all WiFi Clients in the area. For that, I would like to use the internal WiFi Chipset (so I don't have to use an external WiFi Dongle). My problem is, after I enable the monitor mode (with iwconfig and/or airmon-ng), which gives me no error and it says, the monitor mode is enabled, I am getting no results with Airodump-ng nor Kismet. Are there any solutions for this problem? Is is the driver not capeable of using monitor mode? Thanks in advance, KittFanNr1

Looking to use this in a production assembly (months away...) While testing, have found that g_multi does not work. g_serial and g_mass_storage work fine... How do we get this added to the list of items to be fixed?

OrangePi PC H3 UsbTV kernel driver causes complete system freeze on Armbian OrangePi PC kernel 4.14. Did anyone observed similar issues? I already reported a bug against the USBTV repo, but not sure if this is the right place. [Update: After quick response of Federico Simoncelli from the USBTV repo, I reported this bug to the kernel bugzilla as a new bug there] On x86_64 platform it works well. Is it the bug of Armbian or USBTV?
